If George wasn't a financial analyst he low key could be a comedian. He's actually really funny. 😅😂😊
I agree
Don't be bashing the KitchenAid Mixer. It's one of the few things in this world still built properly. You'll only ever need to buy one. Worth every penny.
But don’t buy it if you won’t use it.. if you provide home cooked meals… taking what you and your family eat into your control, quality cooking tools is important! Salad Master, Kitchen Aid… a lot of tools are cheap and break easy… but paying a bit more for quality… worth it!
@@axlent123 We are still using my grandmother's KitchenAid Mixer. We also still use our great grandparent's old Perfection Kerosene heaters during power outages. Probably illegal in Antioch.
My first major purchase was a KitchenAid mixer when I was 16. I’m 32 now and it’s still going strong!
The old KitchenAid mixers had motors rated for more torque than new ones now. Happy to hear yours has been a great purchase!
That was a great purchase. Smart girl.
Instead of buying my class ring my parents encouraged me to buy a good gold ring with my birth stone. I ring I bought I loved and still wear it today.
@@davidharman7245yeah, that’s what I heard! There have been moments where I thought I was going to burn the motor out with overfilling the bowl 😅
@@teeniehi8472I got made fun of (in good humored jest) when I bought it, but then people were too busy eating cupcakes to say much more 😛
My parents got married in 1994 and got a white KitchenAid mixer. It’s been almost 28 years, they’ve given it to me, and it still works! That’s quality!
Right? My Bosch is 42. Older than my oldest child.
😅
And those appliances typically cost a fortune.
I use a yogurt maker bought in "West Germany" 1985. Still makes perfect yogurt 😋
My mom's still got hers to. Probably over 35 years old now.
Hahahaha Rachel’s tattoo and Papa Dave threatening to pull the tuition 😂😂 I love it
We need more details. We need Dave’s side of the story.
@@rachelhayes3376Definitely
I want to know where the tattoo is
She probably got it on her butt or somewhere embarrassing, that's why she tells us it's "somewhere where no one will see".
Sounds like him. 🤣
High-quality knives, pots, and basic kitchen equipment is an investment. They last decades if you take care of them. Trying to do kitchen work with cheap equipment is frustrating and does not yield good results.
Agreed. Husband and I bought a set of Royal Prestige pots and pans right after our wedding. We considered it an investment. We threw out all those flaking Teflon pans we had at that time. Those pots and pans are still going strong 22 years later. They will probably be given down to our son along with my grandmother's cast iron skillets.
8:35 George wasn’t taught the atmosphere is 21% oxygen 78% nitrogen up there in Boston?
Kitchen equipment is one of the best investments out there. Way better than constantly eating out or eating bland/boring foods.
I absolutely agree. Having nice kitchen equipment/gadgets motivates me to cook more and I look forward to make meals.
Agreed.
George, borrow Rachel's stroller. Don't buy it new!
If you amortize the cost of an item over its lifetime, the KitchenAid stand mixer is a bargain. I bought mine over 30 years ago for $300 and it's still going strong. I'm 62 now and this thing will probably outlast me. One of the best investments I've ever made. The downside is that it weighs about 50 lbs. and it's a pain to lift or move.
Agreed! I am using my grandmas kitchen aid and it’s over 40 years old!
As a professional appliance repair man keep grandmas cause all new appliances are junk even with the kitchen-aid name on it
@@jasonleatherwood2172 so true!!! I have a new one as well and it’s not nearly as good as the old one. Planned obsolescence at its finest!
My first kitchen aid mixer walked off the table and kept going! In fact 6 yrs later its still going strong, I gave it to my neighbor who could not afford one when I decided to upgrade to a bigger one (which I purchased for $80!!! Because it was an internet order return, new in the box still).
We call this "cost per use" in our house. I justified my Hokas that way lol
When I decided to quit drinking the first time my friends didn't know. That Saturday I was with friends and was offered a beer. I said no, I decided to stop drinking. They insisted but I said no thanks. I'm happy without it. Then one of them started calling me a Jesus Freak. I raised my hand and said "guilty"! I soon learned that these people were never my friends in the first place. I think everyone should try that test to see who your real friends are.
I don’t drink alcohol at all and I always get questioned - they’re just jealous they can’t have fun without alcohol!
I’ve heard similar stories. My cousin and brother both struggled with alcohol and their friends knew and pressured them to drink if they tried to stop.
My cousin would go to restaurants before her other friends and order a virgin drink so they would THINK she was drinking and not bother her.
My brother tired to quit and I met him and my dad at a restaurant and my dad bought two drinks and put one in front of my brother very dramatically. And my brother started drinking again.
I do NOT understand this.
I'm so grateful I have never had either friends or coworkers pressure me to drink. In fact, the closest to "pressure" I've had over drinking is my parents telling me I needed to learn to like some kind of alcoholic beverage to drink during social situations because I don't really like the taste.
As a mom of 6, I do not miss AT ALL mowing grass all summer with a push mower. Being in a position to pay someone to take care of my yard has been wonderful!
We have 6 as well. We don't hire people as we are going for self sufficiency but also because pur 13 year old daughter is happy to ride the ride on mower.
lol I use that as my mom time on weekends!! But I totally hear you.
Last year we started paying someone to mow the lawn too, never going back. Looked at the cost of a decent riding mower, and the cost of one of those robot mowers, and calculated how long we could pay a neighborhood teen to mow the lawn for the same $$$$ - it was YEARS. No programming required, just hand over cash and say "please mow the lawn" and it's done. Happily.
Point being, when you are completely out of debt, have a fully funded emergency fund... you then have the ability to choose the luxuries you want.

Also George and Rachel: “we spend our money on stupid stuff too”
Rachel had me screaming all episode!😂 She must've been a rebel in the Ramsey household 😅 Love you guys!
🤣It's called an umbrella stroller because it folds up like an umbrella
Nothing says money like a $45 DoorDash delivered $5 Hot ‘n’ Ready from Lil Caesar’s😂
I respect Rachel for that mosquito contraption, that’s brilliant. I instead just literally bathe myself in mosquito repellent if I decide to step outside lol
Oh, I have a service that comes out every 3 weeks to spray. Except right now, I can't afford it and the mosquitoes love me. I spray repellent on me, but some of those suckers are insane! Another week or two, and they'll be spraying again. I HATE mosquitoes.

YES if mosquitoes love you, you get it (Y)
umm yummy cancer aerosol on the daily
I didn't know the mosquito thing existed. I may look into that system!
The show should be renamed "Smart Money Happy Hour Comedy Hour" 😂
The KitchenAid mixer SO WORTH IT. I have 2 of them ☺️
A 7 qt and a 3.5 qt.
I use the 7qt for triple batch of corn casserole for holidays and turkey meatballs.
I use the 3.5 qt (Artisan Mini) for single box cake mix, single batch of cookies, scrambling a large quantity of eggs.
Ah, Thursday mornings. Waiting here for the podcast, expresso in hand. Life is good.
I've got my tea. Cheers!
I like your style.
Not the EXpresso….
@@EmilyWer2 I didn’t catch that. Don’t let George see that! Haha! Drives him nuts. 🫣

On the marathon topic, the race fee was a huge part of why I trained for my half marathon. I can’t count the number of times I’ve said “I can just go running for free,” but it wasn’t until I put money down and registered for a race that I actually did a full training program.
MAKE your OWN bib. BRING your OWN stopwatch!!!
Congratulations! Half marathons are the gateway to marathons and ultras. I just ran 3 (full) marathons in 3 days and it was an amazing and challenging experience.
But you are also racing in a group so there is extra motivation via the competition aspect.
❤ You're actually investing on yourself
A marathon is like joining another community. I say it is worth it because everyone can choose to join the community. The best part for me (I never ran more than a 25k) is the training. The journey is the best part.
I have a sauna, love it. Use it everyday.. but then again I`m finnish and everyone has them here 😂
Yes on the fancy sunglasses!! I won a pair several years ago from a contest and I seriously loved that pair. They broke while I was on vacation recently and I was traumatized. The pain is real!! I wouldn't ever buy a fancy pair like that for myself, so they are not being replaced. RIP.
If you have the money I think lawn care is a great purchase. It gives someone a way to work and make money. Also the person paying for the service frees up their time for other things they enjoy or need to do. Don’t judge those that get it though. It could be a single mother or someone disabled or someone with limited time and that’s one thing they don’t wanna spend their time doing, which is fine.
My husband won so many things at an office giveaway. One item included a flat-top grill that we use ALL the time. Sometimes giveaways are 1000% worth it :)
In both the short and long run, a bear and bullish market provides equal avenue to amass good gains I've seen people make 6figures profit as high as $200k in a bear market and I've seen them pull it off much easily in a bull market, it all comes down to having the right information and applying it.
well politicians for certain are gaining off the crash, and true the average individual could profit off a crash but such high-grade investing come with equal risk which can only be managed by a proper pro or expert.
Hammer on the nail mate, I barely made anything from the market, always FUD at every little dip until a friend that works at Charles Schwab corporation recommended a F.A that improved my portfolio from $98k to $547k in 5 months.
I've actually been thinking of reaching a portfolio-adviser, my 401k and stocks been losing everything it's gained since 2022, mind if I looked-up this one coach you use?
The advisor I use is Yuval Eric Brokman, he's actually quite known, so you could just search him.
Google his name,
I live in a rural area. No door dash or Uber eats, so no temptation there. I drink well water, and it tastes great and I have it tested every couple of years. So far, it's very clean. We can do grocery store pickup, but I've watched the people filling orders, and they just grab the fruits, vegetables, and meat regardless of how they look. For those items, I want to pick out my own, so I go grocery shopping. Might be a control freak. 🤔
For some people the convenience is worth it, but for an empty nest household, I would rather pick out my items too, Also, sometimes I will find bargain/clearance items that also save me money.
I agree with you. Rural living will save you money in a lot of ways. Also that anytime I want to buy something I usually change my mind when I factor in the inconvenience of driving to town to get it.
I go to Krogers or Aldi for allll my produce needs. But I hardly ever (98.4 percent of the time) will pay full price. I am a huge “sticker person “ fanatic at Krogers and I will load up on Tuesday afternoon or Friday night on the recently marked down produce. Whatever I can’t use immediately I freeze, can, or dehydrate and then I have extras if I need to add volume to a meal. 😊I can get out of there for 50 bucks if I stay away from the processed aisles. Produce and meat for 5 for two weeks. ❤
So i used to be of the opinion that long term storage is a bad idea before i lived in a small apartment. I just didn't have enough storage so i rented a unit the size of a closet across the street and the square footage was waaay cheaper than getting a bigger apartment. When i moved into a house and i have more closet space, a garage, and more rooms i agree. If i need a storage unit now, then that is a sign i have too much stuff.
This one is really is math. How much will it cost to replace all this stuff when I get a house or seasonally? Some stuff may have sentimental value though. My husband got one when he moved into my one bedroom condo. A lot of the items were like an old mattress and his old couch. A lot of this was peace of mind in case we broke up he wouldn’t be out of all his essentials
As a lash artist who built an entire very successful business based around eyelash lift/tint & extensions I can confirm that to many women lashes are an absolute necessity, however I do hear from many of my clients that the men in their lives feel otherwise 😂
Wow....sad that they feel they need this.
@@breezybre2670 not sad for me. I built my business around it. The beauty industry is a billion dollar industry and I’m happy to work for my tiny sliver of the pie within the field. Everyone has a choice about what type of enhancements they want to get/invest in. I never push women to change anything about their looks- but if they decide to on their own and book an appointment I will be happy to provide the service !
I love a brow and lash tint for vacation! I didn't love the lash lift, though, and it's hard to find someone who will just do a lash tint.
@@olivias2836I have very fair skin w natural light brown reddish hair. I had an OCD issue where I would rub my eyelashes if they had mascara on them and it would cause them to fall out. Even before I had that issue my lashes were very light and unable to see while I also have very big eyes. Makeup and mascara literally make me look so different. If I continually got lash extensions/fake lashes applied I would be a very happy person lol I’ve never done it because I don’t want the glue to cause irritation and make my eyelashes to fall out even more
It's great for you but so pathetic that people think it's a necessity.
The Kitchen Aid mixer is our go to wedding gift for the young adults in our church.
Worth every penny! I bought mine in 2010 as a gift to myself. To this day, one of my best purchases and still looks new and works like the day I bought it!! Quality product!
Dang y'all must be on BS7 😅
It’s great love mine
Wow, that’s generous!
“You’re someone who would be apt to get a lifted truck.” I cannot 😂 and “low-rided based on my height alone.” 💀
George, I would recommend NOT flying with an expensive stroller. Maybe the more expensive ones are more durable, but baggage handlers and cargo storage on planes are not kind to strollers.
I use my kitchenaid mixer every other day to make sourdough bread and many other things. It has been ridiculously valuable to me! Kitchen Aid and Instant Pot and Ninja Blender are my three "worth it" kitchen appliances
Rich or poor, buying a bottled water to drink on everyday basis is seriously ridiculous. I understand filters. I have one too. Nothing fancy just Brita on my faucet. We even bring our filter container when tent camping or on our vacation and using their top water ( of course the drinkable one) . Overbuying a grocery is another common thing. So many people waisting their food and their money by over buying food they never consume!
Unfortunately Brita doesn't work for hard water and no matter how much I tried to drink it my kidneys rebel after a couple of days. However I am not into throwing $4k in for a softener so I go to the local grocery store and pay 45 cents pe gallon of reverse osmosis water
George, as an Arabic man with beautiful dark lashes you have NO idea what it’s like to be a German Irish woman with extremely blonde lashes. I will pay to get my lashes tinted any day and it is worth it 😂.
That's creepy.
@@truthseeker6370 How is that creepy?
We call it “buying time” when we pay for a service. We can’t do it all! Walmart grocery delivery through their app is the best because I don’t think they mark up the cost.
I'm used to walmart, Kroger IS the fancy grocery store.
I think paying a annual credit card fee is ridiculous
😮 Do people still do that? Why? Make it make sense.
Loved this episode!
My husband buys 3 half marathons a year and they are super expensive but it is his main motivation to work out. When he didn’t have the runs to look forward to his health suffered.
I bought a kitchen aid mixer second hand for $50 and use it all the time. I make pizza dough for Friday nights, cakes for church, and all sorts of baked goods rather than buying them. Sell or donate yours if you don’t use it because someone else will be very happy to find it.
He "buys half marathons"?
@@mstokes8785 You have to pay for those races, Admission price, usually pays for the medal, t-shirt, and admin fees.
Okay, 1st off Lindsey calling you out on the "fruit carvings" and then the tattoo story....I'm in tears😂
Rachel, George, Lindsey, great job, great show!! Humor, common sense advise, great personalities and cocktails. Love this show!!
Growing up, I would drink the tap water in our city, it was actually fairly decent. I live in the same city now, and when you turn on the sink, you can smell the chlorine. They started adding chlorine to "kill" all of the contaminants in the water. I'm not drinking that and filters don't work on it. So it's bottled water for me!
George and Rachel, no guilt over your spending!!! You are helping businesses in your community. Keep spending!!
I grew up in an area with very clean city water. I can’t stand the taste of the tap water in Atlanta because it tastes so much of the chlorine and requires half a lemon per glass to be tolerable. I buy Fiji/Evian water at Costco, but I don’t drink coffee outside of the home or soda/alcohol anywhere. Alcohol is expensive and even a little bit makes me feel like crap.
My "bougie" monthly expenses as a full-time college student making 18k annually is monthly colonic hydrotherapy ($100/month) and therapy ($50/session). I look forward to living the lifestyles you each have once I get into my career! 😂
Marathons!
My sister and i planned to do a Disney half marathon, but when the tickets went on sale.we decided that almost $300 per person for the privilege of starting at the Disney gate was ridiculous. Especially since the fee did not include any perks or discounts for the park.
I’m dead I didn’t even realize Dave was your parent😂
There is so much more to running an organized marathon than biting a medal and taking a picture. It's about commitment, support, a sense of community, and so much more. What a simplistic explanation and judgment about a thing you have no idea about! 🙄
It's not just the marathon fees and equipment (shoes, clothes, gels, training plan...) it's also a lot of fees for out of town races like the hotel fee, food, transportation, and even time off work if you don't get PTO.
Never have I ever used any food delivery service from either grocery store or restaurant. Ridiculous . Rarely eat in restaurants, maybe twice a year.
I didn’t know the mosquito spray built into the backyard was a thing. Now I have something else I want to add to future dream home. I get pulverized by mosquitoes they love me and I end up looking like I have chicken pox so that seems like a necessity.😅😂
Try the Cutter backyard bug control spray.
Lasts all summer.
I love this! I will say I use my kitchenaid mixer at least two days a week - but I am a homemaker and use it to knead bread dough as I make all our bread myself. Definitely not a necessity for most kitchens, though!
Im a respiratory therapist and I'm the one measuring the oxygen in the air! Lol! I really do use oxygen analyzers at work to measure the blended gases I deliver to patients through ventilators or other oxygen devices. So yes it's a real thing George 😂
Yes but it is going to improve your health by going to an oxygen bar?
@@blissfuljoy6049absolutely not

I fully/completely/100% respect Rachel defending her middle class status. I grew up a similar way. My moms business is worth a lot of money and she has been highly successful and good with managing her money! I was born in 1992 and my mom adopted/got me in 1994 from India. My dad left us in 1995 and completely drained/robbed all their bank accounts leaving us with her $300 check per week. I grew up middle class! And just because your parents are one way doesn’t mean that’s where you are. Your parents income/success doesn’t define you!!
Super fun to watch! Thank you!
Great show y'all!!! Love the show, love the topics, you both bring joy to the world with your show. Funny and some money tips tossed in can't wait until next week! Keep up the Awesome work y'all!!!
It's called an umbrella stroller because of the handles. They don't always have a top.
After burning up three hand mixers over 25 years, I splurged and bought a Kitchen aide artisan stand mixer. Not the cheap mass produced, nor the top end pro models, but still pricey by my standards. I use that thing regularly! Every day mixing, saves me so much time! Pizza dough is so much better made fresh, and cheaper. If I bought that instead of those hand mixers all those years ago, the mixer would have leveled up a long time ago 😀
As a marathon runner paying for the race gives gives you a date/goal to train towards and the crowds can make a massive difference
I love Thursdays now!! Thank you guys! What a wonderful episode
I listened to this at 3:00a.m. when I couldn't sleep. I laughed and woke up my husband! You guys are so funny! And Rachel, I have my groceries delivered too! So convenient!
Love these weekly shows!! One of the highlights of my week!
I got it free with my FPU membership and I've been using EveryDollar since April. I graduated in March and never thought of budgeting, but I caught myself overspending shortly before graduation, so I decided to start doing it and haven't stopped since.

George, after 4 kids i can say cheaper strollers they will also last just as long. Baby jogger is a great brand. But they’re all fine !
I have a hand mixer, a Waring, from 1972 and it still works. It’s “Harvest Gold” and only works on 1 speed. It was my first major expense after leaving my childhood home. I just can’t throw it away & is perfect for guacamole.
If you want food delivery and don't have a ton of extra. Walmart plus is 13 a month get your food delivered, no mark up. Just tip your driver. So maybe 30 bucks a month and you don't have to go to the store and deal w/ walmart
I love these episodes. Y’all are so funny😂 and informative.
I do get grocery delivery. I work from home, so it saves me from going to the store. It also completely eliminates any risk of impulse purchases or buying something we shouldn't eat anyway. We basically reorder the same items every time unless something is out of stock or there is a one-off item that's needed. For me, the trade off works.
Tbh, the trash can cleaning is worth it every so often. Especially in FL because of all the bugs!! I’m here for it.
This video was really good! The concept of the motivation behind these purchases, paying cash, and your thoughts on these in general.
I saw George’s reel where his dogs were playing in his backyard. He needs to hire new guys to mow his yard if he’s having to pay for that. They be slippin’ 😂
Your show's not only educative but very interesting - I enjoy it all the way from Ghana.
A lifted truck comes in handy in rough terrain situations or if there is a flood I know you joked about that but where I live we get floods quite often and it would be really nice to have a lifted truck you're not to mention I'm pretty sure lifted vehicles are safer.
Therapy may or may not be cheaper but reading the Bible is free and that will clear a lot of things up. There are obviously the regular Splurge purchases you get on a regular basis that aren't that expensive individually but then there are the bigger splurges like you guys mentioned about Taylor Swift tickets or lifted truck you don't make those purchases on a regular basis like cosmetics
You can look at this show and appreciate it while you are in the “rice and beans” stage of your Ramsey financial reformation if your are intense about your challenge to become debt free. Attitude is everything! Thanks again for all your hard work to help educate those who a striving to make that change.
The "fruit carvings" are a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY if that lemon is not in those glasses. Also, I REALLY want to hear more about Dave flipping out about the tat.

I’m married without a Kitchen Aid Mixer, George. 😊 Never could afford one of those. Still have my hand mixer from when I got married 28 years ago that I was given off my registry.
Same here. Married 21 years without a KitchenAid mixer. It’s never been a high priority. My Black and Decker stand mixer from my bridal shower still works too. 👌
Marathons! I’m there. 😂 that’s my thing.
When I heard George talking about the robot delivering food in the Hibachi restaurant, all I could think is he is now George Jetson😂
Uppababy is great to buy used. We have one that is 12 years old now and has gone through seven kids - three for the previous owner and four for us. Those strollers are tanks - and we only paid $200 for ours used
Lol and there's me with a city select stroller, a knock off jogging stroller and wagon. Oh and 3 happy baby carriers (which are sooo worth it). Also love my kitchen aid mixer.
My bob runs circles around the uppababy, but we also live in an outdoor area and gravel is everywhere.
I love Rachel and George, and I have 3 daughters, 13, 11, and 9. They are all about this show!
Since I started the Ramsey Plan 3 yrs. ago I just ask myself if this is a want or need & surprisingly it is usually a want!
The skateboard thing on the Uppababy is perfect on our smaller, cheaper Uppababy Cruz. 1yo in the stroller, 3yo loves the “skateboard”.
George- get a Sodastream for your sparkling water habit! It’s a bit of an investment up front… I think ours was $80 or so BUT we save so much in the long run and better for the environment since we don’t have a million cans.
New this show and it’s becoming one of my favorites!
My Kitchenaid is used at least 4 times a week and I've had it for nearly 22 years. It has taken a beating, and is still going strong. I would say--get a white one or a practical color that will go with any decor. You'll probably get sick of pink or yellow at some point.
This was funny. Rachael’s reaction to the tattoo question was hilarious!
I think wedding dresses and weddings in general just get crazy! $14k just for a dress? You’ve lost your damn mind. Especially when you can get amazing dresses second hand!
