I agree with a queen size bed after a crib. We got one for our son and it worked out so well. We lived in a 2 bedroom apartment so when family would come to visit they could use that bed. He used it til college and then when he got married he and his wife used it to stay out of debt for bedroom furniture until they had the money and space to upgrade.
🤣 Y’all, this is my new favorite show! Not just my favorite TH-cam show, my favorite show on all media! ❤️👏🤣 The combination of Rachel, George AND your producer asking the questions is fire! 🔥 I’m a flight attendant and this episode reminded me of something I did recently. We were leaving Hawaii and I was working first class. Each meal comes with a bread roll but guys, the rolls coming from Hawaii are DELICIOUS (sorry George)! Every person in first class wanted their meal but I hate it when someone doesn’t eat their roll but I would have had it not been on their plate. So instead of giving each person a roll I put all of the rolls in a basket and handed them out one by one after giving the trays and I ended up with four rolls which I happily made into sandwiches and ate behind the curtain singing to myself. I was wondering how sketchy that was but now I feel even better about it! 🤣 Love y’all so much! Stay awesome! ❤️
I'm laughing at Rachel justifying a queen bed for a child. 🤣 I, too, buy a bed that will last my child till they move out of my home. However, most teens fit in a twin size bed. Queen sized beds are for married couples. They fit 2 people.
I had a twin even into my first true, by myself place. My uncle gave me a full sized shortly after and I didn't upgrade size- wise until a couple years ago. I'm almost 42 lol
Personally I wish we would have done this too! We bought our youngest son a twin bed and a few years later had to purchase another bed because he was too tall for the twin. Since full mattresses are the same length as a twin, we ended up buying a queen mattress for him. Smart Rachel!!!

I'll just bet that most servers DON'T report all their tips. Their hourly wage is unbelievably low. Here in VA it's app. $3 per hr. Also, most don't get any perks such as paid vacation, sick leave. medical insurance, etc. I don't blame them for not reporting all tips. LOVE ❤️ your show!!!
Not every restaurant!. And they should. They don't get any of the perks those of us with corporate jobs get.. Insurance 401k options sick leave vacation. If they miss work for any reason they don't get paid!. And the restaurant doesn't ask them what they made in tips.. they aren't lying they are never asked. If the restaurant asks them and it turns out they didn't make minimum wage that day then they must be paid the difference by the restaurant. So the restaurant manager will just log the tips up to minimum wage so they don't have to make up the difference. People should not have to rely on tips to be paid. And we as people should not bare the responsibility of paying their wages. They should be paid a fair wage.

I have very strong feelings about the trash can one. Not dumpsters, but those cans you push out to the street/ally. I can’t STAND when people (my neighbors) throw their trash in our can. It takes up space and by the time next week comes around I’m at risk of not having enough space. PLUS how am I supposed to know they didn’t throw something illegal in there that could get my family in trouble? This happened this morning and I don’t get it because trash pick up was literally yesterday. So imagine my surprise when I go to get our can only to find there is a bag of trash that isn’t mine. But for dog poop- that actually doesn’t bother me at all. It’s tiny, usually in a bag, and it’s better than having it left in my yard. People say it smells but I mean it’s a trashcan. It’s not going in my living room, it’s staying outside because it stinks. So that one I’m ok with.
We've been renting a small dumpster for our business for the last couple of months, because we're doing a huge clear-out in anticipation of actually being able to retire in the next couple of years. It's only to be used for clean stuff, in our case mostly unsaleable books, not household type garbage. The other day, Peter went to dump in some boxes of books and found that someone had broken the lock and tossed in a big bag of garbage. Not cool. Fortunately, we're getting rid of the dumpster at the end of the month.
Just a question here - for us we wheel those out the evening before trash day so it’s not like people are taking up space that could be used for me. I agree that’s kind of sketchy in your case. I don’t do it but I wouldn’t be mad if someone threw something “innocently” away in my trash
My mother in law hoarded, condiment packets then never used them, some were so bad they were dried out. One year my kids and I collected condiment packages for the whole year and gave her a stocking full of condiment packages for Christmas. Most fun we ever had collecting weird and odd condiment packets. She loved it.
I had a cousin who would show up with her husband and kids as my mom had finished making dinner 🍽 & then she would be saying how much she was saving by eating dinner at our house. She did it a few times & as she would be pulling in our driveway my mom would hide our food in the closet. 😮
My dad owns a small family owned coffee shop. They have to pay for their dumpster and it costs them a lot per month. A lot of time people from the gas station will come and throw away their trash in it. With so many people doing it, several times there isn't enough room in the one dumpster for the trash from the coffee shop itself and he has to pay extra to get it emptied early or we have to put the trash next to the dumpster and it looks trashy and can blow all over the place causing problems in the community.
I've also seen people drive up to business's dumpster or garbage bins at a cemetery and put full bags of garbage in them. We had a bagster in front of our house when we were doing a renovation project, and I was surprised to see poop bags in it.
I was watching the previous videos here on TH-cam. This is so much better with video. Being able to see George & Rachel's expressions is priceless! Especially when Rachel is silently laughing or dying of embarrassment.
I was shocked to hear she put her 3 year old in a queen! My kids are in twins and have to share rooms…how big of rooms/houses are people living in? My hubby and I grew up with big families and never had our own rooms until we moved out as adults. We bought a queen when we got married.
I think a problem with a queen size bed as a child is that that becomes the norm and then sharing one when you have a partner is hard and going to a twin at college is hard. It makes sense if you don't have a guest room and your child's room doubles as a guest room when family comes to stay but otherwise a twin is fine all the way to college.
George! We also bought Queen size beds for our little children. Thinking ahead. Also the small beds are really not that much different in overall price. They can grow into that so much better. Do this if you have kids.
And Rachel saying her Mom would take the leftovers from the office event....well, Sharon Ramsey is the one who paid for them! How did Rachel not connect those dots? The kitchen at Ramsey headquarters is Sharon's kitchen, she can tell anyone she wants to take a meal home from there. Sharon's not "getting food for free" from the Ramsey headquarters. She's the one who bought it!
This episode was truly so thought provoking to me and also just interesting to hear other people’s moral compasses and to consider that we all have different thresholds for right and wrong on some of these gray areas! Love you guys!! And King Charles in a queen bed truly had me laughing out loud❤
Just like most people smuggle snacks into movies, most servers do underreport tips. Kinda hilarious to hear that Dave and Sharon still have a couple of cheapskate habits, too. Which ones Rachel still indulges in is also kinda funny considering how bougie she admits to being in other episodes.
I don’t pay for the premiere TH-cam service and what I find hilarious about 80% of the ads that popped up was they were from new car companies. Don’t they know they’re talking to Ramsey solutions fans?! 😄
I am one hundred percent with Rachel on the queen size bed for her kid! I had a queen-sized bed all through my childhood but whenever family came to visit they got my room and I had to sleep on the couch😂 I think it was a good trade🤣
"You don't need to feel judged; the TH-cam comments will do that for us." They did indeed judge Rachel for these answers. Lol Great episode! Probably fave besides the tipping one (but this was better with the video!). Also definitely have taken uneaten food from whoever we have eaten with if it was going to be trashed, since we would always just feed any food to our chickens! More scrap food= less spendy chicken feed! At the very least if chickens don't eat, it gets composted instead of going into the trash. 🤷♀️
Taking your family to Costco to snack on free samples can not realistically be considered " dinner" or " going out to eat". 😂 I am so learning new information from this video
Returning clothes you've worn is stealing! It's also gross. Would you want to (unknowingly) buy something someone else wore all day or for an evening? I doubt it.
Then there should be a no return policy. Also, clothes can be washed. We wore thrifted clothes and hand me downs a lot growing up. There’s way worse to be exposed to in this world than used clothing.
@@bluebelle9572 but stores don't have washing machines to clean them. Because they've been worn, they can't put them back out on the floor for sale. Trust me, they know many times when clothes have been worn due to body odor or deodorant stains on the clothes.
About the paying for somebody's food in a drive thru: in baby step 2 we should not eat out. Therefore the person behind me either has the money to pay anyway and wont appreciate the gesture or should not be in the line in the first place. I don't endorse these trendy things that are truly not helping anyone.
Ok here’s a podcast to do! How about an episode with you two talking about all the conspiracy theories you think of. Like Rachel would have SO many I think. It would be HILARIOUS. And, “because I am a videographer, and I think of these things” you could totally tie in money and not worrying about it all in the end. Just an idea for the video department! Keep it going! Great stuff!
George, Rachel and team this has to be the funniest episode I’ve ever seen 🤣…I’m sharing it, ethical finance. I must admit I wore my brother’s military sweatshirt to a hardware store and got a military discount. When George mentioned the military discount as wrong, I was laughing so hard I started crying 🤣 I corrected the cashier but they gave it to me anyway. 😅
We took my then 5 year old out to eat where kids 4 and under are less expensive. She takes everything very literally and was so upset when the server told us to say she's 4 that we ended up paying the more expensive price for her. I am proud of her honesty though so I didn't mind. I love watching your podcast. I watch the other ramsey personality podcasts too but have to say this one is my favorite. You are truly a good team and fun to watch.
Loved this episode! Need more of these "Guilty As Charged" episodes with rapid fire questioning. Glad to see I'm not alone in being such a hypocritical walking contradiction of my own convictions and lack thereof. lol Thanks for settling the score and giving us all so much more peace of mind now! lol The aftermath conversations from this episode yield such great debates for free entertainment with others. 🤣
I’m with Rachel on the Queen bed situation!😂 I would totally do that so that I didn’t have to buy multiple size bed frames and mattresses! I got your back Rachel!❤😂 Funny episode!
Gosh. I wish my Mom was alive so she could've heard me say every one of those was sketchy and I haven't done any of them! And, working for a small business, I know that when you take the extra rolls or don't buy the popcorn but bring your own, you are hurting the owner. It's got nothing to do with whether the server cares or not. So entertaining, but I hope you listen back, think of it from the business owner's point of view, and actually learn from this (not just learning gigs).
$9.00 for a box of theatre candy vs $1.25 are the dollar store - I'm doing Dollar store all day long. It's not as tho they lost money because if a dollar store wasn't around, I would do without.
I saw this on FB and it made me think of it when you guys were talking about paying it fwd in the drive thru: PS- this is not my story. I’m just sharing. ************ I know I shouldn’t have done this, but I am 83 years old and I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn and started mouthing something because I was taking too long to place my order. So when I got to the first window I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what I'd done because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with kindness. When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the queue and start all over again, Don't blow your horn at old people, they have been around a long time. 😉
Not mom guilt to buy a queen for your kids! It makes complete sense! And if Charles needs someone to lay by him because he has a bad dream or feels sick, the adult or big sister has a comfortable sleep also! ❤ Great job Rachel!
Love Smart Money Happy Hour. George always cracks me up and I love Rachel’s reactions to what come out of George’s mouth 😂. Plus it’s interesting insightful information.
In the UK 🇬🇧 we are allowed to take our own food into the cinema, they stopped that rule years ago but didn’t widely publicise it. It’s so expensive I totally take my own food and drinks in!
Oh, you talk about hand towels. I took a bath towel. I used it for about three years was still in great shape but I became a Christian and I took it back because I was told to make wrong things right. They were flabbergasted, but they were very appreciative.
With how employees are paid today, it’s smart to share streaming with other members. For example, school employees get paid significantly less than many fast food places (that’s not to disvalue those in fast food). I’m a paraprofessional and my friend, who’s a teacher, gets paid only $28,000 a year on salary. I will get paid roughly around $10,000 at the end of the school year. It’s ridiculous.
So funny to hear Rachel and George talk about the queen size mattress thing. My husband and I came into our marriage with a twin size bed, and a full. We slept on a full size bed until we had kids! Then we finally worked enough to upgrade our bed and thought about keeping the Queen for our oldest as they transitioned out of a crib 😂🤌🏻 I feel like these are my people haha!
We've had a full sized bed for our entire 40-year marriage, including the years we shared it with an 80-pound dog. (We only have to find room for a small terrier now.) The few times I've stayed by myself in a hotel or a relative's guest room with a larger bed, I've ended up lying on one edge of it and not even disturbing the covers on the other side. Most of the places we have lived, it would have been difficult to find room for anything larger in the bedroom. We only had one kid, and he had a single bed until he left home.
I loved Rachel’s excuse for taking the towel from the hotel. I’ve done the same. This episode is hilarious!!! We all can totally relate to George and Rachel.
This was my first shoe off yours on TH-cam and OMG you guys are hilarious!! I loved it!! Rachel, you totally should of donated that other queen mattress to a woman’s shelter!! No tax fraud there! 😂😂😂 great show you guys! I totally subscribed!!
Oops, I meant show, not shoe!! LOL. Oh BTW I just started the baby steps and at the same time I’m playing the Minimalist game. I may or may not have given myself a heart attack!! 😮
This show is fast becoming my favorite. I'm a senior and I figure IF I don't ask for a senior discount you don't get. Just like being a teacher, fireman, police and getting a break on the price of gas as a thank you. One thing that strike me...is that Rachel must make a TON of money to spend the way she does. This is not "typical income" level in my world we had to live on $40,000 a year. Maybe I am jealous....
This episode was hilarious! I've listened to/watched every single one, and this is by far the BEST "Smart Money, Happy Hour." I was chuckling the entire time. Point of reference, I'm close to Sharon Ramsey's age.
On amazon, I keep getting offer for a 1 week Prime subscription for $1.99. That beats paying $5.99 for shipping. I take the offer every time I buy something. I don't have a monthly subscription and don't pay for shipping.
Great episode! For the shots where you’re trying to include either George and/or Rachel talking to Lyndsie, they look like they’re too far away to where you can’t even see their faces, so I would try doing a split screen where you could have close up shots of either George or Rachel on one side and then have Lyndsie on the other side. Another option would be if all three people are chiming in, doing a three-way split screen with everyone would also be an alternative. Just a little suggestion. Best wishes on the podcast!
This video is a great reminder that small changes can add up to big savings over time. It's inspiring to see how easy it can be to start building wealth with just a few adjustments to our habits.
I am glad to finally know that the line for taking condiments is that you can't take whole ketchup bottles or salt and pepper shakers. :) The two of you were cracking me up the whole time.
The company I work for is a supplier of concession supplies, including movie theaters. The movie theaters make zero money on new releases for the first couple weeks. 100% of that ticket price goes to the production company. The longer a movie is out the more money they get to keep from ticket sales. Regardless they make the majority of their money from concession sales.
Rachel I agree with you. My son has a queen size bed since he turned 3. I think it makes sense to buy a bed that big now and not have to buy it again for several years.
Funny that Rachel thinks it's sketchy to break a drive thru chain....What if you can't afford it? You're working the baby steps? Or has she just never needed to work the baby steps?
It bugs me when neighbors throw their stuff on dumpsters that I have paid for, and one time I have a neighbor fill it! And we had to pay to get it picked up and refill it. I went and asked for the neighbor to pay for half 😊 I rather have my neighbors throw their pet scat in my trash can than Not picking it up and leaving it on my lawn
A full size mattress is more than enough for one kid regardless of their age. Most colleges only use twin. I didn't get a queen until I was in my 20s and I often feel like it's too big and I'm a large adult... no reason for a kid to have a queen haha
So funny about the size of Charles’ mattress! We upgraded our 2 boys to a a twin-over-full bunk bed because older was growing tall quickly. For a few years we had a childcare swap with another couple: each month one couple would host the other’s children - 5 kids total - for an overnight. At our home, all kids preferred to sleep sideways on the full mattress!
On paying it forward, if someone I am with insists on buying my meal and the service is good. I will always leave an extra tip but I’ve never been in the situation of a pay it forward line.
Wooooah woah woah!!! Rachel’s mattress comments: what does little Charles get in HIGH SCHOOL!?!?! She said queen bed until HS! And then even George sleeping on a FULL as a child! That feels bougie to me! In our family it was always twin alllll day long! I didn’t move up to a FULL until I had graduated GRAD school! And even then, it felt like an adult self indulgence! 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 Anyone else???
At my daughter's wedding in 2014 I paid over 5K for just the catered dinner. We were seated at the parents table which had an extra seat. After all the other heavy expenses I was feeling a bit fleeced. I asked for a doggy bag for the empty seat. I was told absolutely not. I was silent, didn't assert to the obvious (mother of the bride i.e. paying for all this) but after she left, I quietly took the extra pork chop, took one bite then left the rest. Chicago, meet north Idaho.
How does Rachel not know all these techie things? Just confounds me - especially considering her age. She grew up with technology, email, internet, etc.
But, come on, how could they not throw in there reusing paper towels, paper plates, and cups?!? Learned that from my Dad! Ha! Always a good laugh when the family brings that up!
There needs to be another channel of Dave Ramsey reacting to these videos. 😂
That would be fantastic 😂
I love how Rachel's like "come on people pay for your subscriptions!" 4 min later "I think it's completely morally ok to use a guy for SEVEN free meals"
Funny how Rachel thinks it’s wrong to use other people’s passwords for subscriptions but admits she stole a mid size towel from a hotel 😂
I was thinking the same thing. Ur literally "using" a person to get free food. How it that NOT immoral
That's a good point. I didn't even connect those two things. Shes probably okay with it because it directly benefits her and has no consequences on her life.
I feel like a confident man isn’t bothered by going to a date for a free meal. She’s literally giving the guy a shot.
@@brieashley7227 Based on the scenario described no she is not. She’s going solely to get a free meal and has no intention of giving the guy a shot.

Loving the genuine connection in their communication
I am 100% with Sharon R. and saving/freezeing the food to use for later.
… and the kitchen should have a Zero Food Waste policy.
LOVE your camaraderie and honesty! We've all asked ourselves these questions. We've just never had such a blast finding out what others think!
“I can’t eat rolls so that was a hurtful question” 😂 - as a fellow not gluten eater (Celiac here), I’m dead
I don’t pay for the premiere TH-cam service and what I find hilarious about 80% of the ads that popped up was they were from new car companies. Don’t they know they’re talking to Ramsey solutions fans?! 😄
Rachel’s so much FUN on all the shows she’s on. Love watching , puts me in a better mood
I am one hundred percent with Rachel on the queen size bed for her kid! I had a queen-sized bed all through my childhood but whenever family came to visit they got my room and I had to sleep on the couch😂 I think it was a good trade🤣
"You don't need to feel judged; the TH-cam comments will do that for us."
They did indeed judge Rachel for these answers. Lol
Great episode!
I am so learning new information from this video
Costco is great samples are appetizers. And the Costco hot dog and drink is the meal. 1.5/person.
Returning clothes you've worn is stealing! It's also gross. Would you want to (unknowingly) buy something someone else wore all day or for an evening? I doubt it.
It’s also wasteful. If you purchase clothes online and return them, depending on the company sometimes they just throw them away 😢
Most receipts I’ve had for clothes say you can’t return if they’ve been worn
@@nicoleziegler1486 this is true. However, it doesn't stop people from doing it. Lots of teenage girls do it at prom time.
Taco Bell is insane when you ask for extra sauce. They just grab two handfuls and dump it in the bag 😂
About the paying for somebody's food in a drive thru: in baby step 2 we should not eat out.
Therefore the person behind me either has the money to pay anyway and wont appreciate the gesture or should not be in the line in the first place.
I don't endorse these trendy things that are truly not helping anyone.
I am a boomer but I love your show sooo much!!! Thank you for bringing it to video!!! You guys make me laugh every episode!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I would love a conspiracy theory episode. That'd be so fun.
I honestly think this has been the best episode so far
We took my then 5 year old out to eat where kids 4 and under are less expensive. She takes everything very literally and was so upset when the server told us to say she's 4 that we ended up paying the more expensive price for her. I am proud of her honesty though so I didn't mind. I love watching your podcast. I watch the other ramsey personality podcasts too but have to say this one is my favorite. You are truly a good team and fun to watch.
I love the switch to video along with the audio! It's so much funnier to see the facial expressions throughout the episode. 😂
I agree completely! Love seeing their faces, as well as the producer Lindsey and the guy that sits behind her.
I just LOVE George and Rachel!!!! This is my favorite podcast!!! These two crack me up! ❤😂😂
This one and the tip episode are my official favorite episodes!
George and Rachel make such a great team. Super funny!
I love this show. It was my first time listening, and they had me cracking up!
Loving the longer episode! Great show and it's usually over too quick 😊
I’ve got my mom hooked on these episodes, as of today. They are hilarious!
I have a spot in my heart for George and Rachel!!!❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I saw this on FB and it made me think of it when you guys were talking about paying it fwd in the drive thru:
PS- this is not my story. I’m just sharing.
************
I know I shouldn’t have done this, but I am 83 years old and I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn and started mouthing something because I was taking too long to place my order. So when I got to the first window
I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what I'd done because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with kindness.
When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the queue and start all over again,
Don't blow your horn at old people, they have been around a long time. 😉
Wow! I'm surprised by the answers. Both wealthy people that do sketchy things. Rachel would try and watch another movie she didn't pay for? Omg!
We took an entire pizza into the theater once....primarily because we ran out of time to finish it 😂
Not mom guilt to buy a queen for your kids! It makes complete sense! And if Charles needs someone to lay by him because he has a bad dream or feels sick, the adult or big sister has a comfortable sleep also! ❤ Great job Rachel!
I love Rachel’s squeaky voice when she gets nervous and surprised 😂😂😂
You Guys are a HOOT. I just Love this show and the natural rhythm. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
Love this show! George and Rachel are hilarious! I'm giggling the entire time 🤣
Y’all are the best! If you were a cocktail, you’d be a mimosa. George is a little tangy, and Rachel is bubbly and sweet! 💕
Love Smart Money Happy Hour. George always cracks me up and I love Rachel’s reactions to what come out of George’s mouth 😂. Plus it’s interesting insightful information.
Too funny. I love your banter and chemistry. Really great topic and discussion today!
😂 my husband and I still share a full sized bed! 😬 I love the queen for kids idea!
My kids got Full beds but only because that’s what their convertible cribs would fit. I definitely would have preferred/done a queen
Lying about a military discount is called stolen Valor and it is horrible
Also, sharing a plate with your spouse at a restaurant? Sketchy or savvy…. There are so many topics to cover 😂
Probably the funniest episode so far 😂
On amazon, I keep getting offer for a 1 week Prime subscription for $1.99. That beats paying $5.99 for shipping. I take the offer every time I buy something. I don't have a monthly subscription and don't pay for shipping.
George the corner camera angle makes you look so small compared to Rachael 😂 I’m dying
That's such a great idea!!! ❤
This is the first episode I have seen ... flipping brilliant.
His distain towards her, taking the towel😂😂😂😂😂 George is too innocent for this world😂😂😂😂
Love love love this episode! I want to see more Savvy or Sketchy! ❤
I think it depends on which baby step you are on. If you're paying off debt then you probably should not be at a restaurant.
You two are great together! I chuckle so much when I listen. Thanks for the laughs & of course all the great advice & ideas!
Moctail suggestion raspberry lemonade, sparkling water, and fresh basil.
Great content! Super funny...on the New England bedroom and full size bed til graduation
I relate!!
This episode was Hilarious. Today I found out this podcast existed. You all are so much fun! Thanks for sharing and for the entertainment.
What if the theater has a sign posted that says no outside food or drink allowed?
I am actually shocked to see what they think is OK?
