I'm not sure how George has time to do it all. His TH-cam Show, Smart Money Happy Hour, The Ramsey Show, Founding member of the Winston Fan Club for Life, and still manages to head coach for the Miami Dolphins on the weekend. Good Luck in the playoffs George!
This episode had my 10 year old daughter in the back seat intrigued and she actually knew all the top items. A great way to bond while also explaining the cost associated with all items. She asked if we could listen to this more often. Thank you for helping us spend quality time constructively on the way home from school.❤
I got a kick & a laugh out of this segment. Back when I was 15, my favorite store was K-mart, wore Avon Perfumes, listened to Neil Diamond, the Carpenters & Foghat, favorite treat was homemade Pop Corn & .10 cent Ice Cream cones. I bought my own school clothes and paid for my activities by Babysitting, cleaned an older lady's home, raked her leaves & shoved her snow. Life was good. Now I have Grandchildren that age.
It also depends on what they have to buy with it. When I turned 12 I got an allowance of 20 euros and then clothing money that was 50 euros a month, every month. With this and birthday money I had to buy everything excluding school books and calculators. But all electronics, recreational books, clothing, shoes, gifts etc. This was 15+ years ago so the prices and type of electronics are quite different, but still.
George, that young 10-year-old George does exist that loves to watch you and this show! My son, George, loves to watch George Kamel videos while I make dinner 😊
"Ok....let's not walk too closely" lol love George Yeah the kids these days love all those expensive designer brands. I'll watch their "What I got for my birthday/Christmas" videos and am shocked. One odd thing that I don't understand is how they like things like Pandora jewelry. I'm talking those tacky bracelets with the charms. Even as a teen (15 years ago), I was like, uhhh who would want this?
If Winston ever does a public speaking gig, my one request is that George introduce him exactly as he’s hyped him up. “The man, the myth, the lengend: Winston Cruuuuuuuuuuze”
Rachel got that big money energy with those big macs. Here's a tip. McDonald's app frequently has buy one, get one for $0.25 on big mac, quarter pounder, and 10 piece nugs. So two of those for $5. Fries and drinks are where you lose money, so I skip those unless I'm feeling extra bougie that day. for a single guy who lives alone, it's a great way to have an easy, tasty, filling meal for cheap with about 50g protein. Yes, there are cheaper things I could eat, but those require effort, and adding meat to the equation quickly makes it tough to get a meal under $5. Taco Bell used to be my go-to for cheap protein but now I feel like I can't get full there for less than $10.
Just caught up on a bunch of your shows. Hilarious! This episode exactly sums up my 14 and 12 yr old daughters - could name almost every #1 item in each category - WOW!!!
Today's show was great and very enlightening - plus a little scary for our kid's future. It shows the pathway to credit card use and overspending without any concern for financial well being, environmental impact, or healthy choices. (Rachel OMG fast food!) Educating our children is necessary.
GEORGE! You can get a Nintendo 64 controller for the switch and play N64 games. I found this out after setting up my kid's Switch and spent several hours replaying several old childhood games.
I just bought those Mexican jumping beans for the kids/teens in the family for Christmas, I loved seeing all us parents excited to hold them and watch them hop about, only now we have the internet to see why they hop haha!
I’m pretty close in age with Rachel and George but I feel they they grew up way more affluent than me. I could never afford half the things that they’re talking about. I got a $4 a week allowance until I got a job at 16 at Sonic Drive-In and then I was frantically saving up money to move out. I lived in a toxic household and it motivated me to save up $8,000 by my 18th birthday. I didn’t live a “normal” teenage life.
I feel the same way. I seemingly remember those Rainbow flip flops being between $90-100. I would have second hand shoes I got for free or paid like $5 for and Walmart special jeans. $90 for shoes/flip flops and $80 jeans was rich people stuff in my eyes lol
Love this show. When my kid asks to watch TV and I don’t want to put on a kids show I can throw this on or original Dave and I know it will keep me entertained and educated!
"They call it their 'Taking Stock With Teens Survey,' because nothing says 'We're relevant' like a 'Taking Stock With Teens Survey.'" George is the king of snark!
The best thing my folks did was let me go walk dogs and wash cars to save uo for toys and pets I wanted. It took 2 & 1/2 years to get myself a horse. After I got a Pound Puppy stuffy, a real dog, and a Bryer collection. Zelle is the new hip way.
I loved Surge! And it was taken off the market because it WAS an energy drink before energy drinks were a thing. Entirely too much caffeine to be marketed towards kids.
I appreciate how George sometimes mentions which generations or age groups tend to do certain things. In this topic he mentions how they use certain apps, like Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App. However, one thing I haven’t heard him discuss is how different ethnic groups factor into this. His commentary tends to lack diverse cultural viewpoints. I work in a very diverse area of NYC, primarily Spanish-speaking, where Zelle is the app of choice for anyone under 30. I haven’t done any formal research on this, so I’m not sure if it’s the same elsewhere, but I would like to hear George speak from a broader perspective.
I use Zelle as a 22 year old!! It’s also through my bank 😂 Also, I have loved your podcast. I just found it a few days ago and have watched several episodes now. I love your chemistry together and I always get a good laugh while learning about great money habits!
Wondering that too! Most guys just wore Vans and tried to portray that vibe, but didn’t actually skate well or that much. George, was this the case with you?
I have just 5 pairs of shoes, all black and all Keen brand; 1 pr. hikers, 1 pr. sandals, one pr dressy flats, 1 part dressy boots and 1 pr. snow boots.
I've been listening on my phone for a while. Sitting here working on budgets for my businesses for my FY2024 and have the same thought every single time. There is something missing from your intro. You sort of have it in the background. The thought would be to, after the glass clink, adding in a indiscript party background noise. With a cheer at first and gradually toned out with the rest of the music. I think it would put it over the top. I think about it literally everytime I watch one of your episodes. Don't have to do it. But would be cool!
I'm legit interested in hearing more about Rachel's take on her kids not using cash as teens. I feel like this somewhat flies in the face of previous teaching.. The whole emotional/psychological effect of physically trading cash for a purchase. If you don't start with cash, would you introduce cash at some point? At what age? Again, I'm not trolling, I'm legitimately interested. I have 3 kids ranging from 6-11. We use cash and they have jars. Thinking about starting a bank account for my oldest, but he doesn't spend his money too much and never asks to buy something online, so I'm not sure if I should push that. Ok I'm done. Sorry for the lengthy comment!
I was a kid before the tax free college savings plan, so the college fund my parents started for me was just a savings account. My parents let me put my Christmas & birthday checks or saved up allowance in there and I kept a little ledger of what was "my" money and what was college fund. Any interest went to the fund. I think I learned something from that. Then again, regular savings accounts earned what CDs earn now.
@jordanbutterfield9269 What do you guys use the services for? I've just never needed one and always just have some cash like < $100 but usually all I need to split a bill or something.
They need to redo this survey. All of my nieces, ranging from age 8 to 14 are OBSESSED with drunk elephant. They all wanted drunk elephant and Sephora gift cards for Christmas. I refused to get it for them. They are all obsessed with skincare and expensive makeup and it’s sad. These are all normal lower middle class girls too. It a problem with these young girls. Instagram and influencers are ruining kids being kids.
My teens shop for everything on Amazon. For my 16 yo I created her own profile in our Amazon family, and linked it to use her own debit card to pay for her purchases. Also many stores do not accept cash anymore so debit card is the way to go.
I love that 42 is solid midlife lol. Im coming up on 50. Promise - 40-50s is mid life. 60s- puberty seniors. 20-40 just still young and have a great tine :)
George you can play some N64 games on the Nintendo Switch!!!!......you can even buy special N64 wireless controllers direct from Nintendo that are made for the Switch....some Burger King locations also brought back Surge!!!! (different formula from the 90s)
Hahaha I had to look up the coach of the Dolphins. They do sort of look alike.
😂
This episode had my 10 year old daughter in the back seat intrigued and she actually knew all the top items. A great way to bond while also explaining the cost associated with all items. She asked if we could listen to this more often. Thank you for helping us spend quality time constructively on the way home from school.❤
They are so funny together. I wish this show was more popular because it’s so good. Like a podcast with interesting topics.
The cackle in the background from the production crew has me crying laughing. There’s always one outbreak every episode
I got a kick & a laugh out of this segment. 35 father of 4 here. Who in the world is allowing their kids to spend $200 a month? I can see if they are earning the money, but still.
It also depends on what they have to buy with it. When I turned 12 I got an allowance of 20 euros and then clothing money that was 50 euros a month, every month. Oh the fragrance part sent me back to my 15.5 yo self. Debbie Gibson’s Electric and Cover Girl Navy were my faves
I was Clinique Happy and Exclamation.
George is the goat 🐐. This is a great show y’all have come up with. Keep em rolling! Thank you so much
George, that young 10-year-old George does exist that loves to watch you and this show! My son, George, loves to watch George Kamel videos while I make dinner 😊
Prime! That's the energy drink my kids have been obsessed with! 😅
The South Park episode on Prime was hilarious 😂😂
I disn’t know prime had energy drinks. My kids ask for the hydration one. Better ingredients than gatorade
"Ok....let's not walk too closely" lol love George
Yeah the kids these days love all those expensive designer brands. I'll watch their "What I got for my birthday/Christmas" videos and am shocked. One odd thing that I don't understand is how they like things like Pandora jewelry. I'm talking those tacky bracelets with the charms. Even as a teen (15 years ago), I was like, uhhh who would want this?
I’m Gen X and we had charm bracelets but they weren’t fancy, let alone Pandora. Always thought that was something my mom the boomer would like.
If Winston ever does a public speaking gig, my one request is that George introduce him exactly as he’s hyped him up. “The man, the myth, the lengend: Winston Cruuuuuuuuuuze”

Our top i fluencers were like Zack Morris and Dawson's friends from Dawson's Creek.
Rachel is totally thinking of “PRIME”! My ten year old asks for it but not a chance in giving him more energy! 😅😂
Get the PRIME hydration drink, not the energy drink haha, it’s basically just Gatorade
I just got my first prime from sams club and am loving it
My almost 5 year old listens with me and loves it. We've been listening from the start (when he was 3). We both get excited about the mocktails.
When George says “Let’s not walk too closely” I busted out laughing. Our kids will have better skin in their 40’s but be in debt forever 😳
I love that George just wants to be more like Winston. The Zoa section had me rolling.
We love watching you guys. We are so old, we haven’t heard of many of those places where teens spend money. But, the mocktail is a 10, for sure!
Just caught up on a bunch of your shows. Hilarious! This episode exactly sums up my 14 and 12 yr old daughters - could name almost every #1 item in each category - WOW!!!

Definitely waiting on this mock/cocktail book - I knew it was coming 😂 but can’t wait!
Cocktail books already exist. For 100+ years actually.
You don’t sayyy. Interesting how I mentioned I’m anticipating THEIR book
I’m with rach, schlotskis it’s INCREDIBLE.
The “soccer drink” is probably PRIME. Very popular with kids
I love the relax, and calm Rachel
I just found out i'm a fifteen year old.
Im eating goldfish, Next to me Is my lululemon fanny pack, and empty Starbucks cup.
This episode was Hilarious today!!! I needed this. I check the 40-45 age box.
We need some fancy coffee recipes too. Love the spicy pineapple ginger, though! This will wake me up!
GEORGE! You can get a Nintendo 64 controller for the switch and play N64 games. I found this out after setting up my kid's Switch and spent several hours replaying several old childhood games.
Surge!!! And it's less popular cousin Vault! Excellent choice George.
PRIME!! That’s the popular “soccer drink”
I see you George name droppin the skate shoes! Also im always here for Producer Lindsays WILD pants LMAOOOOOO
I just bought those Mexican jumping beans for the kids/teens in the family for Christmas, I loved seeing all us parents excited to hold them and watch them hop about, only now we have the internet to see why they hop haha!
Omg George!!! 🤣“Let’s not walk to closely”
Surge was amazing and you can still find it at some gas stations.
I almost choked on my lunch.. “Don’t follow her too closely..We love you Brit” 🤣🤣
I’m pretty close in age with Rachel and George but I feel they they grew up way more affluent than me. I could never afford half the things that they’re talking about. Love the show. My 16 yo loved it too.
Thanks for the recipe. The drink is amazing.
Such a FUN a show today!
31:12 Movie Trading Company George! They sell consoles there!
Hawk built an empire on his influence... More power to him.
BRO SURGE WAS THE SHIT!!! That is a serious throwback George!
"They call it their 'Taking Stock With Teens Survey,' because nothing says 'We're relevant' like a 'Taking Stock With Teens Survey.'" George is the king of snark!
Surge was big in WI when I was a teen George!
I'm sorry but I love George!! Whole reason I watch!!🥰
The best thing my folks did was let me go walk dogs and wash cars to save uo for toys and pets I wanted. It took 2 & 1/2 years to get myself a horse. After I got a Pound Puppy stuffy, a real dog, and a Bryer collection.
Zelle is the new hip way.
Arto Saari, yes. 🤘 Had his éS shoes back in the day.
Love the Cocktail/Mockail Book idea. I'm looking forward to gift giving of that and hosting with several drinks from the book.❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️
Love this!! Thanks for sharing cocktail mocktail recipes!
I loved Surge! And it was taken off the market because it WAS an energy drink before energy drinks were a thing. Entirely too much caffeine to be marketed towards kids.
Yes please make a cocktail mocktail book!
Rachel shopping @ Aldos and buying Burkins.. Hahaha too expensive stuff for my parents. I got hand me downs & Target clothes🤣
Just going to say you can find Celsius at Costco!

Prime is the drink you’re talking about that your nephews are looking for. My sons did the same
With my daughter, I use Apple Pay but also give her cash. While our world is digital, there are still perks to having a few bucks in your pocket.
Tomagachis are totally back!! That’s all my 6 year old wanted for Christmas! I believe they are popular again because of the movie Turning Red
I use Zelle as a 22 year old!! It’s also through my bank 😂 Also, I have loved your podcast. I just found it a few days ago and have watched several episodes now. I love your chemistry together and I always get a good laugh while learning about great money habits!
I love all the other personalities but would anyone else listen to the Ramsey show so much more if George and Rachel hosted more often?
Loved Surge as kid!
First time I heard the mention of Gen X in a Dave Ramsey show! Thank you! Keep it up! We are out there and we’re legit😊🎉
I love that George knew the skate shoes! Did you skate?
Wondering that too! Most guys just wore Vans and tried to portray that vibe, but didn’t actually skate well or that much. George, was this the case with you?
George you are so relevant!
Osiris, Etnies, world industries shoes were so funny looking. 😂
Doc Martins!
@@erinsytsma1285 yes. I had those and Birkenstocks. And moccasins.
World industries made shoes?? Im only 23, but i was big on skate shoes from 5-16. Never knew that
“The blue bag” 😂😂🤦🏻♀️ Get this girl some Cool Ranch Doritos for the next episode.
That cackle in the background when George mentions his influencer was amazing
7:57 “She said see you later boy
He wasn’t good enough for her”
I have just 5 pairs of shoes, all black and all Keen brand; 1 pr. hikers, 1 pr. sandals, one pr dressy flats, 1 part dressy boots and 1 pr. snow boots.

I 💯 do NOT feel that pain with a debit card. It hits exactly the same as a credit card.
My banking app immediately notifies me reminding me what i just did. That hurts

Great comment, I would like to see them answer you thought too.

22 here, Zelle is the superior peer to peer money transfer product
Zelle can ban you for posting content on your PERSONAL social media that violate their terms of service. Good luck with that
Agreed! I use Zelle all the time
@jordanbutterfield9269 What do you guys use the services for? I've just never needed one and always just have some cash like < $100 but usually all I need to split a bill or something.
I think we forget that PayPal (who is also basically Venmo) tried to implement similar tactics not long ago. They’re all capable of this.
Agree!! all other apps takes days to get money directly to my bank. Zelle is instant.
As a 66 year old, I love your show!
Skin care super important for teens due to acne. It is always a thing bc acne is a big deal in that time
Anyone remember Vault? For some reason not only did I love the taste but it gave me a ton of energy.
$200 a month! I think I spent $20 or less a month on average as a teen, maybe $50 once in a blue moon!
Celsius is in gas stations and walmart
Definitely showing your age, Sol De Janeiro is FIRE 🤓🤓

I like how two people who don’t actually drink alcohol really do a happy hour show 😅. Love the show tho! ❤
My teens shop for everything on Amazon. For my 16 yo I created her own profile in our Amazon family, and linked it to use her own debit card to pay for her purchases. Also many stores do not accept cash anymore so debit card is the way to go.
I’m 17 and I love your videos
Yes, Smart Money Cocktail Book!
I'm in FCMT and my 5 year old watches with me!
I wish these parents would buy cheaper and then save the difference towards their kids' future.😢
Listening to this as I’m eating my Big Mac 🤣 once or twice a year I indulge (and then usually regret haha)
Vitamin C - Graduation makes me emotional as well. 2000 grad here.
I remember surge. It did have extra caffeine
I love that 42 is solid midlife lol. Im coming up on 50. Promise - 40-50s is mid life. 60s- puberty seniors.
20-40 just still young and have a great tine :)
I still love fierce.
Fast food quality dropped so dramatically that I only trust ChickFilA and In-n-out now.
I have dreams about going back to In and Out when I go back west somewhere! (Although homemade burgers are my favorite)
I STILL LOVE watching award shows!!❤
Let's not walk too closely. I died! 🤣
There is a reason to use Zelle. You aren't giving a 3rd party access to your bank account.
I remember surge, I thought it got pulled from the shelves for its caffeine content?
Surge and Jolt Cola is what I remember in the 90’s.
I'm 51 and appreciate you keeping me hip 😂
George you can play some N64 games on the Nintendo Switch!!!!......you can even buy special N64 wireless controllers direct from Nintendo that are made for the Switch....some Burger King locations also brought back Surge!!!! (different formula from the 90s)
George mentioned Monopoly GO and the next commercial I got was for Monopoly Go (and I've never seen one before).
