Charley Pride is definitely one of the great singers in country music. He has such an emotional quality to what he sings. This was awesome. May Charley Pride rest in peace. Cheers! ✌️
I'd like to make a couple of comments concerning this song. My wife and I had the privilege of attending a Charlie Pride concert at the Grand Old Opry years ago. About 45 minutes into his concert Charlie said "This next song was never recorded to play on the radio but my wife insists that I sing this song in my concerts." When Charlie finished the song my wife looked over to me and tears were running out of her eyes. Such an emotional song; such emotional lyrics. We were fortunate to attend two more Charlie Pride concerts and each time about 45 minutes in his concert, when he had everybody's attention, Charlie sings "Except for you", The Choices she made", and The Rose is for Today". The women reach for their handkerchiefs and the men feel guilty.
Good Morning Don, A beautiful song by a beautiful soul!!!! Written by John Schweers and released in 1977 by Charlie Pride, covered in more recent times by Joe Nichols. Thanks John for an awesome request and Don for a tremendous reaction/rating. Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday---#UTRCM
Hello Mike you truly are a friend! I lost a special person so I have no one « To give a Rose today « …… Things have been a little rough and to be honest I have been disappointed more than a few reaction choices. I applaud you my friend for being the first to acknowledge Ms. Loretta Lynn’s passing as well, we are losing all of the good ones and they are being replaced by the likes of Home Free who in my view are a poor version of Karaoke….. But that is just my opinion. Thanks friend and take good care. I am here and I’m okay but prayers are always welcome. Your friend Cliff
@@cliffordbarnes1631 I was glad to hear from you and can certainly appreciate your frustration. Sometimes I just have to remind myself that every song don't have to be someone I like because they 're alwaysxgoing to be someone who does. Home free obviously has lots of fans although I certainly ain't one of them. Anyway mostly just happy and relieved that you're O.K. physically.---#UTRCM
@@cliffordbarnes1631 Hi Cliff just saying hello, I hope you're doing well! Not sure if you will be able to find me in the comments as i am becoming very disillusioned with some of the song choices again and I am finding it increasingly more difficult to find nice ways to express my discontent. Also several of the people that I enjoyed the back and forth with ( like yourself ) seem to be disappearing from the comments. A lot of the newbies don't really seem to be fans of old Classic Country. So anyway I truly hope you're O.K. ----#UTRCM P.S. This may be my last # because I don't feel like that is what we are anymore. ( as a community, not me and you.)
@@cliffordbarnes1631 Hi Clifford, first off glad to hear from you and to find you doing well. I did read your comment ( though it seems to have disappeared ) and thanks for your support in this matter. You know my real problems are not necessarily with the quality of the song, unlike Home Free I do like The Petersons. However Don had just chosen to react to one of their songs a couple of weeks ago. He also mentioned all the views that one got so he wanted to do another one. So I'm concerned he is starting to chase views. Also h has been bringing a lot of songs of his own to react to from outside his request list even though he stated there are well over 100 songs on the list. I've also noticed that most of his songs are from pretty young ladies. Also even when he does a traditional song from the list we seem to be getting the same handful of artist. Also I'm still dealing with the same old family problem and the family members involved seem to have no desire to fix the problem so it continues to fester. I'm sure that isn't helping any. Anyway thanks for being a friend I can vent to. Also just curious has your percolater arrived and if so how have you been enjoying real percolated coffee?----#UTRCM
What a beautiful song by a wonderful artist ... you're absolutely right about Charley's pauses - they are perfect! Thanks John for a terrific request and Don for another great reaction. And 9.8 is dead on!
@Terry Wood I'm glad you enjoyed it, Terry--and THANK YOU for the GIFT!! PayPal doesn't allow me to respond to notifications, so I find a moment to acknowledge it right here in the comments. I give you a 10!
@@RockN2Country Don you're very welcome. I know what it takes to produce a good quality video every day, and I'm delighted to have the chance to show a little of my appreciation.
Well, you went and did it: you found a Charley Pride song I had never heard. Nice romantic ballad with lots of emotion. It reminds me of Hank Jr's song 'Eleven Roses,' which he recorded early in his adult career.
I think you would really enjoy the song “50,000 names carved upon the wall” by George jones. It is such a touching song. I would love to see you do a review of this song
Absolutely beautiful
❤️❤️❤️

Had never heard this song! Thanks it's so beautiful
Always liked Charlie , I love his voice. He was a great singer.
Once again a great reaction.
Mr. Pride does it again! Proud to know that he was a fellow Mississippian!
