A few things to point out, this video was shot during Covid, so each singer made their videos in their own home all across the US. Also the high tenor Austin has a degree in musical theatre & was in several different productions before becoming a member of Home Free in 2012. Those are not their correct heights, they are all 6'2" to 6'4". You might like checking out their brand new country song written by Tim Foust their bass, it's called What's Left of My Heart.
This was a quarantine release, produced during Covid, meaning they each recorded vocals and filmed separately in their respective homes. They did a fantastic job with it. This is one of my favorites.
The guys did a great job of this Johnny Cash cover. Made it into a jazzy blues style. And they all look like some sort of criminals especially Tim & Adam. Remember this was done during quarantine so none of them were physically together. They were very creative during that time. Love the background train noises. Adam's beatboxing is crazy good & so is Tim's low notes. These guys have been together so long that they are like a well-oiled machine. They know exactly what is needed for each song. They are my favorite a cappella group.
I love listening to their voices. These guys are so talented. This is a great take on Folsom Prison Blues. I can't wait to hear them sing Don't laugh at me, the videos up in about an hour and that's such a meaningful song.
We've got the guys in prison uniforms and in prison, their (in HOME FREE fashion) silly height charts and a gorgeous upgrade of a Johnny Cash song. What more could anybody want? I just love Adam's beat-boxing and silliness in this one too.
Home Free is my favorite band! Love how they use no instruments! Love their version of " Man of Constant Sorrow", "Forever and Ever Amen", "Bless The Broken Road". Thank you and please check out more of Home Free! Sending love from South Georgia ♥️😀🍟
My favorite thing about Home Free is that they don't try to sound like the original...while still honoring the song. While they do have a lot of cover songs...some of my favorite songs from them are the originals...."Dive Bar Saints," "Why Not," or even the newest one "What's left of my Heart."
Really great version of one of the most classic songs! I love the video too, especially since I read below that they did their respective parts individually during Covid. Thanks Cindy for a super request, and Don your reaction is perfect!
Hi Don thanks for the listen. I am a fan of Home Free. No like Mike said they may not be traditional country. But acapella type singing has always raised my attention. There is absolutely no covering up a bad note.
@@mikebarnett9012 I do like the group. Especially when they do gospel. No their country covers I agree are not traditional. But I do like good harmony. They have several covers out. This is my least favorite.
@@jayshults8920 I respect them as they are really good vocalist, but overall they just don't really appeal to me. I certainly seem to be the minority judging from the comments. However, I am always honest in my comment and I know you ate also.
The guys were having some fun with this song. Chance the first one you saw is not 5 foot and none of the guys are over 6'4" or under 6'2". Tim with that last very deep voice and grin and Adam (beatboxer) with the extra movements and amazing sounds, are something else. Rob and Austin were so good with their parts also. Good Ol' Boy Good Time...another fun song, at Austin's Uncle and Aunt's place...The new song Tim wrote...What's Left of My Heart...very good. Up to you. Thanks for a great reaction.
They also did Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, twice; once on the show Sing Off (Which they won) and later released a video featuring Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix. They have also done a cover of John Denver's Take Me Home Country Roads plus many other country songs.
Adam Rupp and his brother Chris are two of the original founders. Adam is one of the best beatboxers there is. Unfortunately Chris is no longer with the group. The group was formed in 2001 in Mankato MN, my home state. Rob Lundquist who joined a little later is also from MN. I’ve been a “Home Fry” for many many years. Thank You Cindy for the request and Don for another great reaction. Whether you like them or not these guys are pure raw talent. Not totally country but I will listen them before I will today’s Nashville so called country. “There Ain’t No Country Music For Old Men” !!!
I agree with you for the most part about Nashville country, but don't think you can paint anything with too broad a brush. I was going to request Don do a reaction to it but I know he generally stays away from new songs for fear of being blocked by YT----#UTRCM

Two of the guys sang some opera if you want to check it out. Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown. They did a great job. 😃
I've always, since the first time you reacted to them, felt you weren't giving them a fair chance. You always seem to just assume you're not going to care for them from the second they get started. I love the 'old, traditional' country music too. I grew up on it , but at 71 I have great appreciation for these guys and other groups like them that have enough talent to take on these classics, or newer songs from today, or originals and blow them out of the park. They highly respect the artists they cover and don't try to imitate, but to pay homage to them in their own way. It takes great talent and hours and hours of hard work to do what they do. You know, Kenny Rogers was thrilled to have them work with him and other artists have commented on their covers of songs they've done and give them high praise. I'm really surprised you gave them such a high rating on this one. But then again, you were more interested in how tall they were than on the quality of their performance.
