For sure. I don't care too much for the reactors that are constantly pausing, talking and nit-picking every little detail of the singers and the songs.
What makes it even more impressive to me is that, in the chat during the premier, Geoff mentioned that he didn't use any subharmonic singing for this piece. So, this was all chest and head voice!
Geoff's so great and so is VoicePlay! They all seem like humble, nice, humoristic guys, based on their videos, comments and live video clips. VoicePlay only sings covers and always acappella (except in "Warriors" where two of them play the violin). They do their arrangements, video, lightning, etc themselves, they're crazy talented! Geoff always uses some music in his solo videos, but often a very small amount, like the bass instrument in this song, and a guitar plugin in "Bare Necessities". He plays the piano in "Blackbird" and "High and Dry". Liked your reaction a lot, hope you'll be checking out more from Geoff and VoicePlay!
@@veronicathunander4579, you’re welcome! What’s really funny about you making this particular mistake is how close your last name is to thunder, which follows lightning.
Love your reactions..... Lol, now you've warmed up a little," blackbird " will blow your socks off.... Especially the last "Night", you'll find out what I mean😉
I like your authenticity in reactions. The expressions on your face speak more than words. Since you are on a run of appreciating the deep bass voices, you owe yourself the thrill of Voiceplay's cover of "My Mother Told Me".
Dear Sabina, Although I have known Geoff for a while now, I myself am always amazed by the resonance his deep voice creates in me. If I had to decide who I like better, Geoff or Dimash, I couldn't say. Both are simply unique and wonderful in their own way, and maybe we shouldn't compare them anyway. Lots of love from Switzerland 🤗🇨🇭
I really enjoyed watching your reaction. Quite fun. And I agree, the captions are a smart style. Check out his headless horseman single if you haven't already.
Tennessee Ernie Ford snapped his fingers in the same way. :D Great reaction with your foot-notes - I enjoyed that. What I just love is the look on the reactor's face at the end of *this* song when they recognize he's about to drop another low note and can't quite believe he's going to be able to do it.
For impressive timing/synchronization - check out the background singing right after the tone change and before he starts the "if you see me coming better step aside" as they each, in quick succession, sing the word "soul". Impressive to have 1 person sing it all but timing that background like that, while the visuals show them each singing it.
Great reaction. I’d like to recommend Queen in 5 minutes from Voiceplay because I think it does a really good job of highlighting all of the members(and we see a lot of Geoff of course).
It's nice to see one of these reactions from a fellow Dane. I like others like your way of using captions instead of talking over the song! If you'd like to explore the maniacal range of his, you should react to his cover og Beatles "Blackbird"! Keep up the good work. And yet again thanks!
Try Geoff Castellucci singing Country Roads, Take Me Home - John Denver or Blackbird by The Beatles. Blackbird is truly incredible. Both are A Capella with only Geoff doing all of the parts.
No, not a cappella - all of Geoff’s solo work have a small amount of instruments. But he sure is singing all the parts himself, from the deepest bass to the highest tenor.
Geoff solo you'll like black bird . Voiceplay there sooo many. This is halloween is fun. Grinch , moana medley. Any Disney medley. You won't be disappointed.
Hi, Sabina! I just subscribed because I enjoy your reactions, and the genuine appreciation you display for voices, styles and creativity. You should check out Geoff's video of 'Blackbird' or 'High and Dry'. Both are great showcases for his full range, up to tenor!
Welcome to the Castalluci fan base! BTW, Geoff it's spoken "Jeff" 😁 Please check out his blackbird cover (even if you don't like the OG. It's just sooo good!)
Just watched your reaction to this for the second time, and had to wonder why you haven't been back - or maybe I've missed you when you were. Geoff just dropped a cover of "The House of the Rising Sun" and I think you'd like it. It has the most innovative, creative vocal stylings I've heard yet from Geoff - and to my ear, sounds like he's dropped lower than before, too. I was stunned, and I think you'll like it!
ok next one Voice Play "My mother told me" and they are all dressed like vikings and Geoff (as he said you have to pronounce it like Jeff) sounds like a mountain horn with a fantastic F-1. Stay safe
No, it wasn't quite a capella - you'll hear an upright bass if you listen carefully (though I can't exclude him being able to mimic it) and he does use instruments in his other solo works.
One thing I liked that doesn’t get mentioned (or noticed yet?) much is that when he bangs on or bangs with, one of the tools the picture briefly blurs/vibrates. I didn’t notice it until the 2nd or 3rd time I watched it.
In the U.S. there was something know as a Barbershop Quartet. I do not know how wide spread that style of singing was. Popular 1880's to 1920's. Geoff was singing all 4 parts, Bass, baritone, tenor and lead.
Geoff Castellucci - Black Bird is THE song for me..because of how AMAZINGLY he makes it blend together...and there is 5 of him there... Please react to it. It is just bresthtaking 😇🤩
Hmm. It's funny, I've already caught myself thinking that vocalists like Geoff or Dimash inevitably come to any person who somehow studies TH-cam, makes reactions or watches reactions, etc. Well, let me be a little lazy and just copy my old comment on this: Now a little more serious. For quite some time now, I can't help but think that for me, Geoff has a certain resemblance to Dimash. Both with incredible range, both with incredible control over almost the entire range. Both have mastered a huge number of vocal techniques and techniques. With all due respect to the fans of other "ultra-high" and "ultra-low" vocalists and performers - but personally on me, only these two have such a unique influence. And, in addition, I can not digest the idea that TWO people are enough to cover almost all the variety of vocals (so far only among men - well, at least some consolation)) Special clarification for, ahem, "nerds": yes, I know that both Jeff and Dimash are not the recorded record holders for low / high notes. But I'm not talking about records, I'm just talking about impressions. Besides, if you think an artist is cool, it doesn't mean that other artists are worse. For me, definitely not. There is enough space in my heart for many (no matter how it sounds))). And I don't have the slightest desire to arrange a showdown inside my own soul for a pedestal between different talented and gifted people) It's just that some of these people are spiritually closer to me, someone is a little less "touching"... This is actually a very serious song, but you are not alone in not being familiar with 19th century US mining...In fact, there are many Americans who don't know. It was a brutal business, engaged in by fairly tough men. One aspect was the method of payment, which was indentured servitude. Miners were paid in scrip, that could only be redeemed in the Company Store, and workers were never paid enough to cover their living expenses, so the store would extend credit. Most owed their soul to the company store. Scrip is now banned under labor and currency law (but leads me to be skeptical of Crypto.)

The question is what comes to mind and if you would explain your emotional feelings if you could. No judgment, purely a curiosity question, because of something my wife (both ex and this one of almost 40 yrs) mentioned. Thank you very much. I would also like to thank you and commend you for not cutting the song lots and making a statement every few 15 or so seconds. Wonderful reaction and thoughts. Have a great week.
