There is a difference between envy and jealousy; the difference is jealousy is "You have a cupcake, man I want a cupcake!" where as Envy is "You have a cupcake, I will destroy you for your cupcake". She is jealous of Sydney's success and wants her own version of it - she doesn't hate Sydney for having the fame and her wanting that same fame. I am aware the movie puts it across as she's doing it out of envy but the motive is more of a gracious one when looking at how her plan was executed, is isn't tarnishing Sydney in a claim to get her success but rather murdering people for her own fame.

I personally beleive Kirby would've been the ghostface that was after Jill, because I heard she was also supposed to be a part of that story somehow and that would've been the best way to bring her back. Also, Sid was apparently supposed to be a proffessor at that college. Idk how that part was supposed to work but I think she was supposed to have some memory issues or something. Jill is actually perfect for envy. Roman is actually perfect for gluttony. Roman is the wealthy son of a mega producer in hollywood who literally had a job laid in his lap. He has everything he needs to be happy and successful, but can’t let go of what he couldn’t have. His overconsumption of his own self pity alone is enough for him to be gluttony. Jill’s envy of Sidney is what drives her to want to kill. She literally says she wants to be her.
Been waiting on this video to drop! My favourite killer is Mickey (for obvious reasons), my second favourite I’m gonna get a lot of shit for but it’s Charlie... I think the scream community as a whole gives that character a lot of unfair hate. The reason I rank him so high is he’s probably the best ghostface, the best kills, the most brutal and the most flashy version I think we’ve seen. I also really liked the introverted nature of the character, especially around Kirby. The writing at the end of the film let’s the character down greatly in favour of Jill but even at that I still think he was a great killer.
I love him a lot too. I love some of the other killers more, but I've always found him very interesting and idk why most fans don't. I think his character is probably the closest to Billy we've gotten since the first movie in some ways, as he also is a guy who loves horror movies that comes off creepy from the get go. But, he's the opposite of Billy, since he's not well-liked or the more normal-popular type. He's a nerd. I like how he seems like a regular nerdy teenager boy who just wants the girl but also just wants to kill people. I think I also feel like he has a similar vibe to Billy, where even if he has some other motivation, you can just tell that he really likes killing people and just has that urge. Mrs. Loomis, Jill, and Roman aren't killers at heart if you know what I mean? Like, I don't think they would kill 'for fun' yk? But Charlie and Billy definitely would still kill I feel like, even if Charlie was coaxed into it by a hot girl and Billy was coaxed into by anger and vengeance. Like, with them it was like a means to an end, and with a lot of the others it was the only reason really. Yk? And I personally find that really interesting. idk I didn't describe everything I loved about him as a killer very well, but just know that i love Charlie Walker a lot too lol. And, this doesn't factor into my love for the character obviously, but I've also always found Rory Culkin attractive as Charlie lol.
I feel like wrath is present in all of the “leading” Ghostfaces in the movies to some extent, even if might not exactly be their “defining” sin, but it’s a core aspect of their motivations. They all had their bullshit reasons for why they blamed Sidney for their own problems, to the point of delighting in tormenting her and feeling as though she deserved to die for something she couldn’t possibly be guilty for so that they could avoid taking responsibility for their own actions; they were all angry and decided to direct that anger towards Sidney because they couldn’t handle the truth that they had no one to blame but themselves, as Sidney tells Roman at the end of Scream 3. Jill’s wrath is less obvious than Roman’s and the Loomises, but it goes hand in hand with her jealousy towards Sidney for “stealing the spotlight” away from her, and her feeling overshadowed by her is why she holds her cousin in such contempt. At the end of the day, the Ghostfaces that aren’t just accomplices are pathetically angry, miserable people who can’t take accountability and decide to go after the innocent woman who they want to pin all their issues on like immature schoolyard bullies.
I always thought that maybe Stu secretly had feelings for Billy in the first movie. After the reveal, he's hugging on to him and I think it's hard to believe that he could've been talked into killing people by just anyone. If Stu is still alive and in the next movie, I hope that they explore his motives more because "peer pressure" seems like a flimsy explanation.
He was supposed to be in number three the orginal scream 3 script got turned into the following because right before filming Columbine happened freaked the studio out then the changed it to what we have now
Stu idolised Billy, he wanted to be like him, and in a twisted way he wanted Billy's approval, but he was never romantically interested in him. I hug my best friend a lot, but I'm not in love with her. I agree with the point that not just anyone could have talked Stu into killing people, it happens in real life crime too. Two people come together, like Myra Hindley and Ian Brady (Moors Murders) and one of the pair (Brady/Billy) is so charismatic and manipulative that they are able to brainwash and eventually take complete control over the other person (Hindley/Stu). After a while Hindley/Stu become compliant and are willing to do whatever it takes to gain the approval and praise of the other person and can be talked into doing anything. It's unlikely that Hindley/Stu would ever have killed anyone if they hadn't met the other person.

The reasoning for Jill as gluttony makes total sense and I also get the argument for Mrs. Loomis as Pride.. therefore Billy is wrath.. My initial thoughts matched yours for Roman, Stu, Mickey, and Charlie.
I think whoever it is should get away with it - it's become a very modern horror trope and Scream is known for metacommentary - One with slashers [such as Halloween], two with sequels [such as Halloween II] , three to when a franchise is too much [Such as SAW franchise], four is reboots [such as Halloween Rob-Zombie]
Why do people want Sid to be the killer? I understand it would be good for shock value, but that's it. It's just a really bad idea, it doesn't make sense for her character and it basically writes off the previous movies. How is the audience supposed to root for Sid on rewatches when we know she eventually becomes the killer? I paused this video at the 5 second mark to take a 3 minute deliberation as to what I thought you would say, and what I thought made sense...some killers, like Jill especially, could fit into multiple sins, but it's about mixing and matching, and who fits best where. I initially thought of Billy as Lust since he sleeps with Sidney before the reveal, but then realized, Charlie was so in love with Jill, he clearly gets the Lust card. What I am recommending is just ranking the killers face reveal moments to us the audience because did the filmmakers do a good job setting up to the moment to where the audience jaws were dropping or was payoff not executed well to where audience reaction was like “who is this person”

They were either stunned unconscious (momentarily, of course) to then recover & go for their last hurrah or popped back to life for one last cheap jump scare before getting a literal BULLET.TO.THE.HEAD. NONE of them were bleeding out (possibly internally as well) from multiple stab wounds to their limbs/extremities and midsection which contain a lot of vital organs! He's lucky he didn't pass out & slip into a coma or something!

Ngl I was a little skeptical when you chose Jill for Gluttony but you definitely sold me on it to the point that hers made the most sense to me lol. Also Stu is probs the scariest ghostface to me because IMO he had the least reason to commit all these murders.. like the other “followers” (Mickey and Charlie) had something they wanted to gain from it, whereas Stu was just fucked up in the head enough to be like “fuck yeah why not?”

Jill was a better fit for “Envy” and Roman for “Gluttony” because Gluttony implies already having a lot of something and wanting more which is like Roman already being a successful director and still wanting more attention. Jill didn’t have much going for her before the very end of the movie at which her role as Ghostface was already over.

Stu idolised Billy, he wanted to be like him, and in a twisted way he wanted Billy's approval, but he was never romantically interested in him. I hug my best friend a lot, but I'm not in love with her.
I agree with the point that not just anyone could have talked Stu into killing people, it happens in real life crime too. Two people come together, like Myra Hindley and Ian Brady (Moors Murders) and one of the pair (Brady/Billy) is so charismatic and manipulative that they are able to brainwash and eventually take complete control over the other person (Hindley/Stu). After a while Hindley/Stu become compliant and are willing to do whatever it takes to gain the approval and praise of the other person and can be talked into doing anything. It's unlikely that Hindley/Stu would ever have killed anyone if they hadn't met the other person.
Would explain scary movie's plot. what happened with bobby and Ray. The script of scary movie is the orginal name and plot for scream.

Great reasoning behind your picks.. You convinced me I was having trouble placing Billy because I had Mrs. Loomis as wrath and then Jill as Pride... The reasoning for Jill as gluttony makes total sense and I also get the argument for Mrs. Loomis as Pride.. therefore Billy is wrath.. My initial thoughts matched yours for Roman, Stu, Mickey, and Charlie.

Imagine if Scream 5 had Sidney as the ghost face but we don’t figure it out till the end where she gets away with it.
I think whoever it is should get away with it - it's become a very modern horror trope and Scream is known for metacommentary - One with slashers [such as Halloween], two with sequels [such as Halloween II] , three to when a franchise is too much [Such as SAW franchise], four is reboots [such as Halloween Rob-Zombie]
Why do people want Sid to be the killer? I understand it would be good for shock value, but that's it. It's just a really bad idea, it doesn't make sense for her character and it basically writes off the previous movies. How is the audience supposed to root for Sid on rewatches when we know she eventually becomes the killer? Sorry if I come across as a bitch, but I really hate this idea, and I see it posted everywhere.

I paused this video at the 5 second mark to take a 3 minute deliberation as to what I thought you would say, and what I thought made sense...some killers, like Jill especially, could fit into multiple sins, but it's about mixing and matching, and who fits best where. I initially thought of Billy as Lust since he sleeps with Sidney before the reveal, but then realized, Charlie was so in love with Jill, he clearly gets the Lust card. So my pre-watch is going to say:
Pride: Billy
Greed: Jill
Lust: Charlie
Envy: Roman
Gluttony: Mickey
Wrath: Mrs. Loomis
Sloth: Stew

What I am recommending is just ranking the killers face reveal moments to us the audience because did the filmmakers do a good job setting up to the moment to where the audience jaws were dropping or was payoff not executed well to where audience reaction was like “who is this person”

They were either stunned unconscious (momentarily, of course) to then recover & go for their last hurrah or popped back to life for one last cheap jump scare before getting a literal BULLET.TO.THE.HEAD. NONE of them were bleeding out (possibly internally as well) from multiple stab wounds to their
limbs/extremities and midsection which contain a lot of vital organs! He's lucky he didn't pass out & slip into a coma or something!

I think everyone was able to guess who was Wrath without a doubt! Can’t Billy also kinda fall in the category of Lust too? I mean for most of the movie, he was trying to push Sidney into having sex with him.

Ngl I was a little skeptical when you chose Jill for Gluttony but you definitely sold me on it to the point that hers made the most sense to me lol. Also Stu is probs the scariest ghostface to me because IMO he had the least reason to commit all these murders.. like the other “followers” (Mickey and Charlie) had something they wanted to gain from it, whereas Stu was just fucked up in the head enough to be like “fuck yeah why not?”

I started the video with my own different expectations about where each sin belonged but you made some very good points and i can't really argue with any of them. Good vid.

Solid. But I would swap Micky and Jill. Micky was all excess with his scheme of a higher body count, wanting to get caught and blame the movies, to the point of disillusion. He was the embodiment of ''bit off more than you could chew'' Jill was willing to kill her friends and even her own partner just because she wanted all the fame for herself and refusal to even share the spotlight with the dude who did all the heavy lifting for her.
I think jill should be envy bc she grew up in sidneys shadow after the killing where sid killed billy and got all the attention , jill just wanted to be noticed and in scream 4 she also said "you had your 15 minutes now I want mine" which shows her envy for sidney

I made my own guesses before watching this and I got 4 out of 7 aligned with you! Just mixed up Pride, Greed and Gluttony
Jill was a better fit for “Envy” and Roman for “Gluttony” because Gluttony implies already having a lot of something and wanting more which is like Roman already being a successful director and still wanting more attention. Jill didn’t have much going for her before the very end of the movie at which her role as Ghostface was already over.
I feel Mrs Loomis could def be wrath as well! Like mother like son. 😏 Yo, I really love this concept, cuz I feel each of the killers have elements of all the deadly sins!
