I haven't seen the movie, so I'll just ask a question after some history. I always loved Snake Eyes. And I wasn't even all that interested in the cartoon show as a kid! But he's arguably the greatest of all G.I. Joes. In fact, it all sort of began with him! His original origin as depicted in the comics was that he was a soldier who returned from his tour of duty to find his whole family had been killed in a car crash. It was later revealed that the same crash led to the radicalization of Cobra Commander. Yeah, no kidding. So Snake Eyes went to Japan and joined this ninja clan where he excelled. His biggest rival was Storm Shadow, who apparently assassinated the head of the clan and went on the run, eventually infiltrating Cobra in an effort to find the real killer. Snake Eyes went on to join the Joes. On one of his first missions he was in a helicopter accident and saved Scarlett's life, but was gruesomely disfigured and lost the ability to speak. But setting aside the details of his classic origin story, what basically makes Snake Eyes so cool? He never talks. He never shows his face. And also, he's extremely honorable and good-natured. Just tell me, how much of that is in this movie?
Definitely felt more for Stormshadow than for Snake Eyes. You could where his rage against Snake Eyes comes from after losing everything he ever worked for to him. He was just trying to do the right thing too.
Honestly I liked the gi joe rise of cobra origin story better than this one. In every version of snake eyes I have seen, he is typically the shinobi with the heart of a samurai, yet the made Storm Shadow like that. Which of course that’s why you like him more in this movie…He’s the real snake eyes.
The character motivations didn’t make sense like Tommy was genuinely a honourable guy and it was unrealistic that he’d actually join cobra when he knows he couldn’t become their leader he’s not stupid and snake eyes he is a bad guy he watches people die he’s responsible for a lot of deaths and they don’t even get addressed
The problem this film has story-wise more than anything else is the fact that Storm Shadow’s origin story was given to Snake Eyes. In one of the comic continuities, Storm Shadow was blamed for the death of his uncle but wasn’t responsible. Instead, it was a Cobra assassin who used one of his arrows from an earlier hunt during that day. Storm Shadow left because he believed no one would trust he didn’t do it and to join Cobra and rise through it’s ranks in exchange for finding out the identity of the real killer. Of course, Cobra’s influence and his jealousy of Snake Eyes made him do things a hero wouldn’t do, but even he eventually left his vendetta behind and joined the GI Joe afterwards. So basically, the only real parts of Snake Eyes’ origin that are true to the material are him being a foreigner, being welcomed to the clan by Storm Shadow and his uncle, and the costume.
I thought the movie was a blast, I LOVE HENRY GOLDING IN THIS MOVIE!!!! Also, the shaky cam was only noticeable in the beginning action scenes. The third act was AWESOME!!!!!
Thank you! The fight scenes were sooo weak. Don't teach Henry Golding to fight. Hire a stunt double. Snake eyes is literally a character known for wearing a mask.
I watched this this morning although I had read the bad reviews because I like the series. But didn't know it is far worse than I could imagine lol. Only the acting of Storm Shadow is good.
G.I. Joe and Transformers are both owned by Hasbro and have had numerous crossovers in comics and a few mentions and guest star appearances in the cartoons. Hell a Transformers character Marissa Faireborn is the daughter of Flint and Lady Jaye so there is a lot of precedent for the two to crossover.
How u gonna have real crazy action stars(Tony Jaa & Iko Uwais) & used em as unimportant side characters...its like having batman in ur movie just so he can buy the main character a Starbucks coffee.
They should make the sequel a solo storm shadow film. And in the movie, they should have him fight snake eyes. And during the fight, he slits snake eyes’s throat or somehow damages his vocal cords leading to snake eyes being silent.
The new movie should be called. Snake eyes: origin story of a whiny character who spoiled by storm's family will one day become a villain and the real hero "storm shadow" will stop him. What a way to reboot an honorable tragic character into this.
Problem is gi joe fans don't want artistic liberties in any way shape or form. This movie was better than I expected but I'd rather see a GI Joe movie about them fighting Cobra, even if it's Channing Tatum or the Rock in it again.

It's a stream it from me.
love your editing bro
Been waiting for you to making this since the movie came out
“Too busy on Rosetta Stone to proteccct the stone” BARS 🔥🔥🔥
A storm shadow movie would be GOATED
I thought the movie was a blast, I LOVE HENRY GOLDING IN THIS MOVIE!!!! Also, the shaky cam was only noticeable in the beginning action scenes. The third act was AWESOME!!!!!
Storm Shadow all the way.
1:34 I’m a new viewer and u won me over With Tim 🤣
I hear, rent it and keep looking at your iPhone while you browse Amazon
@Budgie Cat transfomers and gi Joe crossovers would fit though ithink transfomers works best as it ownnunvese than crossover it with another frsnchise
We were supposed to root for snake eyes but ended up feeling for Tommy aka storm shadow.....they fucked up big time on that part
They really waited till the end to show that badass suit for snake
I mean it’s always a pleasure to see my man Iko sooo there’s that I guess haha But what I’m glad is to see y’all upload again 🥰🥰🥰
Let’s go someone else who thought snake eyes was a rat in this movie I came out loving storm shadow
Don't get me wrong I love gi joe and snake eyes but I found it refreshing probably helps I'm not a gi joe Stan
Yeah, I fully enjoyed the movie as a Storm Shadow Origins movie
The new movie should be called. Snake eyes: origin story of a whiny character who spoiled by storm's family will one day become a villain and the real hero "storm shadow" will stop him.
What a way to reboot an honorable tragic character into this.
"Who wrote this tarantino?" hahahah im using this quote so much now
STORM SHADOW STOLE THE MOVIE!!!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
See it again.
Time Travelers wife IS one of the best movies of all time.. 🥺
I was rooting for Tommy as well lol
I’m mostly only into action films but somehow the time travelers wife made it into my top 5
Why didnt he just blast the grandma and ninjas to bits he doesnt need anyone else just set everything on fire
Problem is gi joe fans don't want artistic liberties in any way shape or form. This movie was better than I expected but I'd rather see a GI Joe movie about them fighting Cobra, even if it's Channing Tatum or the Rock in it again.
Still kinda undecided if I want to go see the movie this gave me a little bit more insight.
