- Today we're playing Warhammer 40K: Battlesector! It's a fun turn-based tactics game taking place within the Warhammer 40k universe. The latest Necron DLC releases alongside a new dynamic campaign, Planetary Supremacy! It's like Risk but it's nothing like that, and there's a robot skeleton!

Regarding the crons taking on the nuns with guns, it could be a nod back to sanctuary 101. The first battle between these factions in a white dwarf match up. First outing for the crons.

24:10 Annihilation Barges should be anti-infantry, not anti-armor.
27:11 Having lots of members is a downside, not a upside. I realized that back in Gladius. It realy only makes you more vulnerable to Splash and richochet attacks. It is easier to loose models. At the same time, your weapon is so weak you _need_ high numbers per units just to be effective.
- notice that all units have a limit for how many you can have of one type. For the better ones ~2 - kinda like Elite units in the Tabletop had a limit.
And yes, it appears that common units do not have a recuitmen cooldown.
Nemesor Zandrekh: Look Oberyn. The seperatists have perfected Flayed Ones' skin wearing technique. How they believe having bi-spherical chest areas and opting a black-red color scheme will give them an advantage is beyond me.

The Barge is probably your best bet for chewing through infantry swarms. You'll want at least one for fighting the Sisters, and definitely for the Nids.
I pick one up before long. I find it to be a huge waste of points, though! There are much cheaper alternatives that perform against infantry much better :)

@@JanetOnOccasion I see a lot of people misplaying the Barge. While it does have a huge soak if its under the armor aura of the Lord, the lord is usually in the thick of things. Instead, i prefer to take advantage of the mobility on set them on the flanks. Good move, no penalties and can ignore some terrain. Gauss Cannon + Tesla MG means you will almost always put kills on units and the sooner you can pick up X2, the sooner that accuracy starts becoming OP. Out of curiosity, which necron unit do you favor for heavy infantry? The Destroyer doesnt cut it with its AP of 3 vs marines.
This looks great, can't wait to give it a go. Hopefully it means we get some kind of army painter or map editor soon

The flayed ones are necrons that got given a virus by the c'tan they killed as revenge( if I'm remembering it right)
Plus, they show up because despite their hated status, they’re still loyal to the Necrons. I can’t remember the book, but there’s a conversation between a lord or overlord and a flayed one that explains it.
The new supremacy campaign is a great feature (adding genuine replayability!), but it's still a bummer that there's no Necron story campaign in the game. Their (new) scheming and power dynamics can be fun.
Not picking the Overlord as first addition was rather surprising.
Yeah, i found it a must just because of the ranged armor aura alone, plus in 6 turns you get good value out of summons. My next playthrough im just going to ignore cohesion and take 2 lords though....I dont find the cohesion mechanic very beneficial.
the reason you get hit when you try to back away is because you dont use fall back attacks. i have only ever seen ONE attack against a unit using fall back hit. and it was the AI falling back. so to summarize, i have never been hit after using fall back.

How to fill this up quickly?
I don't understand the principle, sometimes it fills up quickly (e.g. when defending) sometimes I don't get any points at all even if I kill a complete unit, but sometimes you get a "replenishment" when you kill units
How did you get access to this mode? I only have the preview.
anyone on Xbox one unable to get planetary supremacy to work? I have it through game pass. when I launch Battlesector and try to start a planetary supremacy game it just keeps loading forever?
The loading times can be wildly long even on my PC. Try to stick with it and it'll hopefully load eventually. I was quitting the game and reloading it too quickly before I realised it's just really (really really) slow. I think the hotfix addressed it slightly which might not be out for Xbox yet?? If there is some genuine bug stopping it loading completely then I'd recommend checking their forums www.slitherine.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=691
@@JanetOnOccasion these loading times are an affront to the machine god but I will bear them. The machine spirit of my Xbox screams in agony but it will press on. Omnissiah guide my circuits.

all i want is a decent RTS warhammer 40k game not really into turn based combat really to slow for me but seems fun
There's always Dawn of War and its mod scene to fall back on at least.
I've never found DoW particularly gripping. If it wasn't the only 40k RTS I'd probably have given it a miss entirely :P
@@JanetOnOccasion Now that's a surprise - personally I loved it back in the day, though I will definitely grant that it's very imprecise and just generally rough on a mechanics level by today's standards. We could definitely use more 40k RTS games in general.
Between dawn of war 1 and 2 you have some options... 2 is more like company of heroes style and 1 is more like traditional rts. Love them both. Dawn of war 1 with all expansions has all the races! only game out there that does.

Is the Armour piercing the reverse of normal 40k? Isn't AP 2 the second best ap possible?
It's not the reverse, it's just an altogether different system. The AP is a measure of how many points of armour is ignored. The higher, the better :)
I saw this on the dev streaming and when he click Hexmark Destroyer, I was surprised Hexmark Destroyer is a woman! Necrons are fully surprised.

I thought Destroyers were also considered mad, like Flayed Ones. Seems strange to make one of them your leader.
Read a bunch of Gw Necron Novels, they showed a side of those beeing afflicted by the ''curse'' . Some of the characters retain their personality for eaons fighting it. Skorpek and heavy destroyers have fully given in to the curse making their bodies shift and morph into better weapons of killing. I do not know much about the Hexmark, it does feel weird to start this thing with him as the '' leader""

Sorry, but Necron lore hasn't been worth the paper it's printed on since the fifth edition. Before then, Necrons were elegant, simple, Lovecraftian nightmares, as inexplicable as they were implacable.
Now they're just Tomb Kings in space. And their design is cluttered and messy.
Like the music. Is this worth getting?
I can't make that assessment for you since I don't know what you like or what you deem to be good value for money. If this is your first impression of Battlesector check out my other LP on the main Blood Angels campaign. It's basically a different game entirely and one that I recommend very highly. It's plot driven, fully voiced, and the missions are all handcrafted. This DLC is fine but not essential, in my opinion :)
Oh, and if you do end up picking it up consider getting it from nexus.gg/janet since I've been such a great help? :P

This new mode raises my interest in the game a bit, but then I remember they're charging $40 for a game with only 2 factions and $15 a pop for the rest. NO THANKS.

I personally try to preserve anything but the starter flayed ones...those guys get dumped asap! Even the standard warriors become super useful once you have 3 medals under there belts:)>
