On the grapeshot cannons: No, the rune of burning is not why they are overpowered. They are overpowered because they are REALLY overpowered. That Ammo train mission was hard carried for me with just the cannons. Single target the big stuff, and then when they tried to cross the bridge I switched to grapeshot and took out the entire army in about 2 or maybe 3 salvo's with 4 cannons.
Cannon adventure was the first adventure I took because it made the most sense objective-wise. I quit the campaign at turn 15. I was playing as aggressive as possible and was under no threat ever, it was the least challenging campaign I've ever tried. In most of the battles 90% of the enemies were dead from cannons by the time Spirit of Grugni was summonable. At least with Ikit or Elspeth I felt like those upgrades got stronger over time so i got something to look forward to. With Malakai's cannons I didn't feel like playing anymore when at turn 7 I'm getting a doomstack. Maybe if I went Gyros i would've had more fun
