The first rule of Necron naming is half the letters are silent. The second rule is there is no canon way to pronounce them, so you get to pick and choose which letters to pronounce.

For a lack of free will. these guys have a ton of personality.
It may seem that way but it’s only the elite and top-tier Necrons that have very strong personalities and therefore are able to project that onto lesser Necrons.
In the last novel the infinite the divine, they show this when both main characters are able to easily and instantly take over and command any lesser Necron mind. Trazyn can take this even further by projecting his personality engrams into another Necron host whenever his body is destroyed beyond the point of repair.

IMHO the oldkrons should've been kept as soulless terminator machine wanting to simply destroy all life and it's the tyranids who should've gained personality, intelligence, goals, and preferences.
@@AntonAdelson I used to feel the same way because I had the old codex where there were no Necron characters except maybe the Necron Lord and the only sentient personalities were the Nightbringer and the Deceiver.
I was pretty pissed when GW retconned Necrons with Dynasties and the sharding and enslavement of the C’Tan.
I got back into the game at the beginning of ninth and I have since changed my mind after rereading the current Necron lore.
@@chrisbeau76 me too! When the new lore came out I was incredibly pissed, but now Szarekh is my favourite character of the lore despite still being shrouded in so much mystery.
I think a lot of my anger was due to *how* the lore was told in the codexes since the change, with it being a bit more camp in a certain way instead of being told through mad ravings by non-necron characters.
With more necron-centric books out I love the direction they took and you get a hint of their political games while non giving a damn about the lesser races.
Trazyn and orikan's fight is literally two old man hitting each other with their canes and I love it
I guess their petty infighting is just the only way they could explain how the Necrons don't just steamroll everyone else across the galaxy.
@Char Aznable Personally I don't find the change stupid, since now they have some real personality. Previously they were just mindless cartoon-evil metal zombies, there was literally nothing interesting about them before.
I mean to be fair in our own history powerful kingdoms and nations have fallen due to being petty and back stabbing eachother or themselves

I thought it was a reasonable enough explanation when it was just that the tomb worlds were still slowly waking up. I thought the Necrons just never woke up in big enough numbers to be the biggest threat.
Last time I was this early, Necrons were still cancer-ridden humanoids that could barely walk over the surface of their own planet.

Possibly. He’s guaranteed to totally embarrass the Swarmlord. One of the few Swarmlord beat downs that I’d be ok with.

Seriously, even if you just go by the model, the Silent King is a very large Necron, and he was given a significantly better body. Hell he's gone 60 million years and looks the same.

You know it might be fun if a group of necrons thought the key to having new bodies is the lead. First to rebuild their mostly eaten souls by transferring psychic soul energy from eldar to compatible necrons creating a combination soul that could inhabit new bodies created by a combination of necron tech and eldar DNA. Well that's just a rough idea though.

The necrons have full planets made of scarabs that’s crazy bellasaruis cawl was speaking to the necron on Cadia talking about the pilots and how they work , I think balasarus cawl is tinkering with necron tech and trying to find a way to stop chaos like the pylons did .

Trazyn is one of my favorite characters and it's simply because he's a madlad...
And he would preserve or even resurrect the emperor because it would made humans interesting to collect again… but decided not to risk it on account that if he did then there was a risk that humans wouldn’t accept him as the emperor and so making his attempt null.

It would be kinda cool if some unknown Necron Dynasty awoke late, and some kinda of glitch or virus/from a power surge came through their systems and instead of viewing the galaxy full of enemies, they actually were "friendly" and became sort of "allies" to other factions such as the Imperium.

Their in-fighting have some really interesting in-lore explanation as well that is not just 'pettyness', since for them, they are so much above the present threats that their conflicts with each other are the only conflitcs that matter right now, the others are like, 'common infestations' to be dealt with when there is time left after the imporant stuff is done.

I kind of like the Necrons and some of their personalities. I'm just a big upset at how the Eldar are basically on the loosing side in every conflict in 40k despite being one of the oldest races with super advanced technology themselves. Like, give the Eldar some love GW. Oh and the T'au too. Fuck the Imperium.
