Manual is actually a praise for good old days in which every game had a manual just like that one. And some manuals even delivered some lore about the game they came with. It was awesome, more games should do that.
wasn't into 40k back then, but as a 90s kid one of the things i loved with video games on the N64 & PS2 or computer CD roms was that there was always a manual that included fun little extra tidbits or worldbuilding. A great review. I loved that montage with the DoW2 Space Marine's theme. I had a good experience with the game myself, and it was a surprise when I realised I wrote down some army list for the campaign, as I would have done in the tabletop game. What weapon to pick, how many vehicles, and so on...And depending on which character you focus on, your army and strategy change. I really enjoyed Sanctus reach. I've always been more of a fan of the turn based strategy games instead of the real-time run-through games. This looks promising. Can't wait to see what kind of expansions we get with this game. maybe some Tau or eldar?
After playing through the campaign i can promise you it's a good turn based strategy. It's gonna get a new game mode and race in just a week and it's gonna be a great way to ignore Total Warhammer 3 until it's out of early access.
You just made me realize that Angry Joe hasn't done a proper "Angry Joe" type of review in...shit a very long time. That whole opening skit was perfect. Game wise, I wanted to enjoy this game more, but found the overwatch mechanic a bit too stingy to use. Also the AI. I remember on mission where I was chasing down the last Tyrannid squad for far too longer than I wanted to. Also the sound...it really need more "oomph" to accommodate the slow turn by turn feeling (like how Mechanicus does in spades). Luckily it's on Gamepass to try out. Might give it another go when I need my VG WH40K fix. And you gave me Space Hulk Tactics PTSD about Battlesector's "no cost to turn for facing" in overwatch. Oh my god I wish that was the case for Space Hulk.
In lore necrons with a shard of the C'tan more exacly The Burning One come to help Blood Angels to show respect for Sanguinius and Ka'banta with a demon legion of Korne come to save them too becose what to by him self that who will destroy the Blood Angels.

Excellent review you earned yourself a sub. I'ma be honest I LOVE Battlesector, it's my 3rd favorite 40k game out there rn (With DOW1&2 in well #1&2 spot lol). @1:30 "The original Space Hulk".. Do you mean the game shown in the clip? I played the original Space Hulk in 1995, and it was already a couple of years old at that point.
Yeah, I guess there’s been so many space hulks, which is the original at this point. I did mean the one in the vid so the one after the original space hulk.
@@PonchaYT I hear you. If you're interested, check out clips of the sequel for the 1993 game, called 'Vengeance of the Blood Angels'. It came out in '95, and was a really intense experience back then!
Finally a decent game about warhammer which is a way for me to play something at least similar to the tabletop Wish there were more factions though, they only added orks like a week ago
I tried the demo of that game and I thought at the time that it was a decent tactical game, but one that will NOT scale well with an increase in unit number, and I seems that I was right. It's sadly one of the main pitfall developers fall in when they make turn based tactical games, having a game that works well in small scale but just turn into a massive slog once you increase the number of pieces on the board, and they always end up increasing the number of pieces.
Considering the fanbase they are appealing to I’m sure its not as big of an issue as other games might have. When a tabletop match can take up to 4 hours, 40min for a match in a game thats adapting that isn’t really that crazy.
@@sturm9087 Im the center of their target audience, and I can tell you, nobody lile the fact that each TT games are THAT long. And still that dont change the fact that to be really good, turn base games need to flow well, one solution they could have used, and one more and more people ask for the TT too is to switch the game to alternation actions between players.
@@Pers0n97 nobody likes the fact that the games are that long? You must be new or not very involved in the community because I’ve seen nothing but complaints that games are too short in 9th edition and are usually over after 2-3 turns. People want the games to go until turns 4-5 and feel that the game is too fast and killy right now. Also alternating activations would help with balance but likely slow the game down even more.
@@sturm9087 lul, always funny to see people trying to pull the "you must be new card". I'm probably way older than you in that thing since Im literally in it since rogue trader. As for the game beinh 3 turn long in 9th, I dont know what game you play, but thats something Ive never seen happen unless someone does something very stupid. But its doesnt matter anyway, since by game lenght I was refering to the actual play time, not number of turns. 9th has been extremely slow because of how extremly bloated the rules ans sequences have become and thats the problem. In the time it taked to makr a single 9th game yoy would have the time to do three 3rd ed games. As for alternative turns, it wouldnt slow the game that much and would on the contrary make the game feel more facepaced since youll be constantly playing rather than having to wait trough the incredibly long turns od your opponent.
Hi do you know how command points work in pvp? How to fill this up quickly? I don't understand the principle, sometimes it fills up quickly (e.g. when defending) sometimes I don't get any points at all even if I kill a complete unit, but sometimes you get a "replenishment" when you kill units

I was eager for more 40k but just smth about turn based strategy turns me down that's probably why I prefer dow.
Anyways thanks for the video poncha I'll give this game a shot thanks to you!
Bogut
@@UltraTaka1 yea fixed it now thanks for the reply haha
@@keremayhan3687 just thought it was funny
@@UltraTaka1 it was haha thank u for letting me know that
The soundtrack of Mechanicus is an absolut BANGER!
PS.: BY SIGMAR! You have a new subscriber!
6:55 I like to refer to Croginax as "Admiral Crunchysnax" for some reason.
I'm still waiting on an Eye of the emperor Custodes game where you have to go back into service as a armor clad Demi god to fight off system spanning invasion as a one man counter attack.
So basically doom in the 40k universe?
man i'm glad my boy cabal got in. even got to be a robot with a "human" in side as a smoke screen.
seriously though that librarian dredd is almost uncannily cabal
Boy, you got me with the 6 minutes of a review is an insult, nothing far from reality, love these type of reviews thank you
I love your videos, outstanding quality and great humor!
Blesses us once again
Haha reviews seem to take ages for me.
@@PonchaYT dude it shows, if it takes this long to make reviews then keep it up
The only gripe I have is that there aren’t a lot of other factions you can pick
Your on your own Noble 18:50
4:00 NOW THEN GUYS HOW YOU DOIN'. BACK ON THE WARP AGAIN, just emerged safe n' sound in Baal in Segmentum Ultima with me ol' Narvhal here. This time we're goin' to a local place for sum Blood Angels: bit crunchy on the outside and really RED and JUICY on the inside eh
Are you gonna do a classic dawn of war 1+2 review?
Many things that need to be done first before I get to them.
@@PonchaYT Kool. Keep up the good work, videos are really good and informative.
I really enjoyed Sanctus reach. I've always been more of a fan of the turn based strategy games instead of the real-time run-through games. This looks promising. Can't wait to see what kind of expansions we get with this game. maybe some Tau or eldar?
That weshammer bit is funny, great vid
Black Shirt and Templars Helmet. I like how much you care about details.
The plasma gun was off but I could say I’m cosplaying as a blood raven if needed.
Battlesector is proof that an Advance Wars-style Warhammer 40000 can work. And that a Battlesector-style Advance Wars game can work.
Only thing keeping me sane in these trying times. thanks ponch!
Individual note: 10+7+10, which makes 9/10
Total note: 8/10
ORK MATHS (amazing video as always btw)
Datz Roight!
After playing through the campaign i can promise you it's a good turn based strategy. It's gonna get a new game mode and race in just a week and it's gonna be a great way to ignore Total Warhammer 3 until it's out of early access.
the SFX department completely pulled my will to try this. Thanks
2:00 …guess where I’m watching this video…
In lore necrons with a shard of the C'tan more exacly The Burning One come to help Blood Angels to show respect for Sanguinius and Ka'banta with a demon legion of Korne come to save them too becose what to by him self that who will destroy the Blood Angels.
Necrons weren't mentioned in Dante, The Devastation Of Baal or Darkness In The Blood and KaBandha was not invited and for sure didn't come to help. I'm not claiming your wrong or anything mate but in what novel did this happen? I only recently got into Necrons with the Twice Dead King books and would like to know more about what you are saying my mate
@@banneduser5187 search a little deeper. Or in more sources, that how do i know that much lore.
@@teobratuteodor1728 Mate, i'm asking straight up where i can learn more about what you mentioned. Pretty please with sugar on top tell me
@@banneduser5187 you realy want to know why necrons and Blood Angels are good allies?
Anyone know the name of the track playing at 38:30 ?
Excellent review you earned yourself a sub.
I'ma be honest I LOVE Battlesector, it's my 3rd favorite 40k game out there rn (With DOW1&2 in well #1&2 spot lol). Battlesector is def the best 40k game since DOW2 IMHO and space marine, Mechanicus (playing through now) and Chaos Gate Daemon hunters also excellent 40k games.
I'm just so happy that Battlesector is getting love and dlc support, Necrons are awesome and fact sisters of battles coming next as a faction is epic.
I REALLY hope Imperial Gaurd and Chaos factions get added to!
Would also love a Ultramarine faction added to tbh I love my blueberries lol.
The only way to find another person to play multi-player with is through the Discord.
Angels Fall First has entered the chat.
2:44 deadlock is in no way similar to battle fleet Gothic it is a turn-based game with actual verticality
Finally a decent game about warhammer which is a way for me to play something at least similar to the tabletop
Wish there were more factions though, they only added orks like a week ago
I will make an update video at some point.
@@PonchaYT Great, I'd love to see the takes on dlc factions!
It sadly does become like that. If you don't mind the massive battles then its great.
Hi
do you know how command points work in pvp?
How to fill this up quickly?
I don't understand the principle, sometimes it fills up quickly (e.g. when defending) sometimes I don't get any points at all even if I kill a complete unit, but sometimes you get a "replenishment" when you kill units
Great Video from an incredibly underated channel.
WOuld highly reccomend battlefleet gothic armada 2
Thanks mate. I’m sure I will get to it at some point.
Good review and nicely detailed.
Watching your other videos subscribed.
The game that hooked me into 40k 🤙
32:55 There was one primaris space marine in the necron campaign of battlefleet gothic armada 2 in one mission.
That one guy has ruined my day.
@@PonchaYT happy to help 😁
Dawn of war 2 is now 13 years old, I've heard the space marine theme at least a trillion times, and still I get goosebumps when I hear it
Good review, I decided to put this on my wishlist.
Hey chapter brother from Telford your the reason I bought battle sector and necromunda stay beastial bro
Ayeeee nice to hear.
@@PonchaYT well I’d say part of the reason lol but they are immense games especially if your not lucky enough to have a pc ….I have children ….they would steal it lol. I am however looking forward to SM2 cause I love me my tyranids man really hope they can pull off the visual of a hivefleet swarming a planet
I think this is on Gamepass...I REALLY should play this. One of the few really good 40k games to come out really.
I also badly need that plasma pistol. For reasons.
Dio would be proud of this review
Which Dio is this?
Yo, High-Key this game and its art assets look GORGEOUS.
I wonder if t he assets can be used by 40k creators? I feel like even if this game never got stitched together into a final release product and the art asset files just got dumped on the internet this would still be a net-positive. Thats how fresh and good looking this game looks, some segments of your video literally pop out of my youtube player its that good looking
o_o
What’s the name of the song at 20:24?
Great reviewing skills bro, keep it up! :-)
Incredible review. This game steel rain'd into my wishlist.
I wonder if it's possible to rip the Tyranid models from the game to make stls for printing.
Praise the Emperor
The Primarch Poncha have returned
Poncha, u should cover Space Wolf
Great review as always! :-)
I have a question can you customize your units and give them different weapons in total war Warhammer?
How are the primaris marines blood angels? Do they even get black rage? How? and why can't everyone else get it?
90% of 9 legion was dead before primars arrived. Yes they get black rage. but slowly than firstborn.
That segway to rate my takeaway fucking tickled me.
the comment balls deep on Sanguinius. *Black Rage Surges
08:54 God Emperor no.
Is Battle Sector in the Steam Workshop? It seems like the sound effect issues could be easily fixed with a patch/mod.
I know that at the time of making this video you said you didn't have experience with the multiplayer but would you say that this is the kind of game that you would want to pick up with a friend? Or is it worth it just for a singleplayer experience? I've had this game on my radar ever since I heard about its necrons dlc and I wanted to know if it was worth it. Amazing video work as always!
Hmm it’s a good question. With friend I think you will have fun. With those other races there’s more content now however I don’t know if there’s a coop against ai game mode yet. I would recommend doing some research about that but I will be making a sequel video covering the DLC in the future.
Would love to see you cover the space marine augmented mod with it being completely unplayable out of nowhere recently
Perhaps at some point. I’ll make a note.
Your video's give me such a joy
Nice to see cabal survived the tiberium wars to be interred into a dreadnought.
You playing Daemon Hunters right now? Your review is the only one I’d accept. Digging the game so far.
Playing it as I write this. Needs a big review so I want to play it as much as possible.
