    Even though I always have and will clean my own cars and love doing it. There’s just something nice about getting it cleaned by a professional even if the results are similar to your own. Also the technique of adding “options” like the de tar and polish really do work. Dave this is all fantastic advice, not just for people starting out but also for people with decades of experience too - the day you're no longer willing to take advice is the day you stop being a productive member of society!!
    One thing - it's almost as if you feel guilty for some of the things you're saying but mate, you're just being 100% honest and there is NO more important human character trait than honesty. You're running a business, and clearly a successful one, that's nothing to feel guilty about - only if you were being deceptive would it be an issue but showing someone tar spots or light scratches after cleaning their car is spot on (excuse the pun) - these may only be a few minutes to those of us who know how to correct these things but that's years of grafting, experimenting (techniques and products) and perfecting that has got those processes down to a few minutes!
    Sorry for rambling on - in summary, brilliant video 😂👍🏼👍🏼

    • @epicautomotivedetailing
      @epicautomotivedetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate appreciate the feedback. People have become so obsessed with the techniques in the rule book that they do more harm to their business than good. Honestly I have to watch what I say as one tiny error like a circle motion during washing gets endless negative comments that I then have to delete. It's such a bitchy business to be in 😬

    • @SparkleanAutos
      @SparkleanAutos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@epicautomotivedetailing let's not forget that some people are wankers 🙊
      Who gives a shit if you make one circular motion on a car that you've already spent 30 mins prewashing or you forgot to remove a label from a cloth, even though said label was clearly folded on the inside... Sometimes I only use one grit-guarded bucket when washing my car... Guess what, its my f***ing car so mind your own - I know the risks and I know how good my pre-wash technique is lol - I don't go by 'rules', I go by what works for me!

      @@epicautomotivedetailing In the states where I’m from hustle here means your “get up and go” attitude not that you are swindling someone haha sorry for the confusion mate. Love the process and science behind your philosophy on products. That comes with your 15 years of experience. I find that I just use products I know work and are good like I’m stuck on super clean degreaser for some wheels, megs APC for interiors/cleaning, megs hyper dressing for interior dressing/tire dressing, rainx streak free car soap, and I use the turtle wax wash and dry (cheap wax) and mother’s clay bars w griots garage compound and polish. That gets me through almost every job. What other products do you highly recommend I should add to my Arsenal? I have a bad habit of using what works for me. You should do a video solely on loop pile carpets. I couldn't imagine how funny that could be. Just you saying Peugeot cracks me up. A week ago I valeted a Skoda Citigo for a lady who had just bought it, the dashboard and door cards were heavily siliconed which took me a while to make OEM again. I thought the black carpets were pretty clean until I started running the vac nozzle over them. Areas of carpet were turning white and yellow and I could smell paint as I was working it. That's right, the valeter at the garage she bought the car from Satin Blacked the carpet to hide the dog sick and spilt milk that had settled in ages ago, and a good workout with 1:2 ValetPro APC, a hard brush, lots of microfibres and more vacuuming very slowly removed all of it. I ended up spending 9 hours on the inside of this little car in the end. You should also make a video on 'rectifying valeters' quick tricks of the trade', or, how about 'what to look for when interviewing/choosing a valeter to work with you'.

    So basically it has to be a quote with a baseline price that doesnt go below it.
    $ $280 for full interior that is netween maintenance and middle ground work. The art is detailing, so that means professional, educational skill sets, and with that skill comes a premium cost.
    Then if the car is a bit more difficult, your time comes into play is is time that goes against other cars you could be doing at that moment. So with an additional cost of services regarding time and product, you add a cost for that. $ 280 plus an additional $80 to $500. The messier, the smellier, the more complicated, the harder it will be to get it cleaned and that increases time on it significantly.

    • @epicautomotivedetailing
