    Woohoo! We're living in Oaxaca about 15 min. outside of the Oaxaca City and can't wait to rent a place for a bit in the city to explore. Currently we have our RV in Santa Maria del Tule which is a nice little quiet landing spot and it has its own nice places to eat.

    I have been corrected by locals a number of times.... That "Oaxaca Queso" that is like a ball of string cheese is called "Quesillo" here.... The most commonly found cheeses at little mercados are the quesillo and also queso fresco (which is a cheese you can crumble on ensaladas and tacos).

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  หลายเดือนก่อน

      lol we got a lot of comments about this. It’s funny because back home (San Diego). Pretty much any stringy Mexican cheese we just call queso Oaxaca😂

      So sorry we just got this comment as we have been traveling and are a little behind. In Oaxaca the water situation in the tourist district is not affected. Mexico City is getting the worst of it right now☹️

    The cheese is “ QUESILLO “ A lot of people call it queso Oaxaca 🤷🏻‍♀️just because it’s from Oaxaca but there’s different cheeses so they’re not all called quedo Oaxaca, tasajo is beef 😊 I love Oaxaca!

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Amazing! Thank you for this helpful post! What are some other oaxacan style cheese we could try the next time we visit. Where we live in San Diego the stores will sell quesillo and we think it says “queso oaxacena”. We will look the next time we visit our Mexican Market we will see and report back! Thanks again

    Hello! That fattiness from the black bean pure is likely due to probably being made with pork lard.

    • @tracielozanoguevara7842
      @tracielozanoguevara7842 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They have a layer of a siento de puerco, which is the lard from the carnitas(pork meat) and it has quesillo, cabbage

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ahh is there such a thing as Oaxaca cheese or is quesadilla just cheese from Oaxaca?

    • @tracielozanoguevara7842
      @tracielozanoguevara7842 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HeresGoodTravel haha sorry I’m confused?? Quesadillas? Oaxaca cheese? So every state has a different way of making their quesadillas and different kind of cheese it’s usually a cheese that melts in order to make quesadilla, traditionally In the state of Oaxaca they use “QUESILLO “ as their primary melting cheese!! And I think a lot of people just call it Oaxaca cheese because that’s how they connect that kind of string cheese to that state! Sorry I hope this makes sense to you. I think 99% of the world call it Oaxaca cheese, except actual people for Oaxaca that they know it’s called QUESILLO 😂 sorry I didn’t try to make this so complicated or try to make you guys think you were doing something wrong you’re totally not love your videos keep exploring Mexico and keep speaking Spanish. You guys are doing awesome.!!

I'VE GOT A QUESTION FOR YOU GUYS: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEXICAN FOOD SO FAR🤔🤫🫣?😮😅😂😊 SALUDITOS CORDIALES NUEVAMENTE DESDE ZUMPANGO ESTADO DE MÉXICO 🇲🇽 ❤ USA 🇺🇸 🤪😝😜😛🤩😘🥰😍🫠🙃🙂😅😂🤣😉🤗🤭 BY THE WAY, LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING: THE "TASAJO" MEAT IS NOT PORK 😅😂, IT'S A THIN BEEF STAKE! THE "CECINA" IS THE ONE MARINATED (RED) AND IT'S PORK😢😮 😅😂 LOVE YOU CHICOS ❤

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ahhhh thank you so much! CECINA Is pork! Thanks for clarifying. We learned so many new words I think we mixed em up! Honestly we just love Suadero, cabeza and pastor tacos with a really spicy salsa from a taco stand probably in between beers in Mexico City. But we love it all and still have so much more delicious Mexican food to eat!

    10:37 that is not a good tlayuda, the meat must be cut in bits and put in the tlayuda. At least it is not the turistic version which is worse

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Really? We noticed most of the Tlayudas had large slices of meat in a so
      Liar style. The flavor was really nice though. Is there a spot you could recommend we try next time? Thanks!

  • @jesuzo23
    @jesuzo23 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The meat alley in Oaxaca is the biggest tourist trap.
    The meat they sell in all the stalls are the cheapest meats (tasajo is the meat that the ranchers didn’t sell and use to give to their workers, and the chorizo in Oaxaca is not that great at all). but they sell them to you at premium prices.
    In general Oaxaca is a tourist trap, the only cool parts are Xochimilco and Santo Domingo… other that that the city is very dirty.

    • @HeresGoodTravel
      @HeresGoodTravel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly we probably would not return to the meat alley! We loved the Tlayudas at other stalls and had some really nice sit down meals but we did miss our street taco carts with very spicy salsa!
