    Mobula6 Betaflight config dump for v3.5.7 - blog.georgi-yanev.com/a5e0115...
    I honestly believe it's not overhyping when you say that the Mobula6 is the best tinywhoop style of a micro drone for the winter 2020 season. It's absolutely spectacular that you can get this flight performance and amount of fun from a drone that weighs barely 20g (dry weight) and a bit over 30g all-up weight.
    This is also the first time I see a complete all in one board in use (it includes even the VTX) which makes for light and easy setup. But really, the best part about it, is that the Mobula6 flies amazingly and we will go over a ton of different flight test footage from different indoor and outdoor scenarios, we will fly it in different modes including acro and stabilized (angle) mode. I will also go over different battery sizes and how they compare in terms of flight characteristics.
    Last but definitely not least, we also go over how to increase your flight times even further by taking a minute to flash the JESC 48kHz firmware. Happy flying!

    I followed your instructions and my Mobula 6 HD had problems. When I armed it one motor would not spin but jerked and stuttered. Another one did the same off and on. Could not get into the air. I reflashed, did a different version lower on the list. Finally after flashing and reflashing, changing the sequence of connection to the configurator, plugging the battery in first , not plugging the battery in at first, etc, etc. I FINALLY hit on some sequence that made it work. It was scarey because I thought I'd tanked my Mobula. I did my two Tiny Hawks. The "S" model loaded without a hitch but my original Tiny Hawk had the same problems as the Mobula but I got it finally done too. I actually had to go into BHeli and reverse a motor that had now was spinning the wrong way! Took me a looong time to get these done and I don't know if I'll do my more expensive 2 and 3s whoops. I wish it was simple as it was for the one Tiny Hawk then I could trust it more. BTW, I did finally get the proper version onto them not the 2.2ver that was lower down on the menu.

    Hey Georgi, I hope you are doing well. I see you haven't made any videos in a very long time and I hope all is well with you and your family. Do you still fly FPV at all? I just recently started to get back into it and blew the dust of my Modula6 and was going through the settings and decided to watch this video again.

    I have the 6 HD on the way. While not a deal breaker, I wish it had come with a padded box of some kind. My fatsharks are in a case, as is my controller. Would make it easier when tossing everything in the backpack to go fly.

    I installed Bluejay with 48hz on my mobula 6. It reduced the current during the flight and increased the flight time a little, however sometimes it fails safe where it doesn't happen with original firmware ESC. Sometimes one of the engines does not turn on and the drone does not take off. I have already configured the motor start parameters, even so, sometimes one of the motors does not start turning. I think 48hz and 96hz for tinys is good but have some problems.

    I recently purchased the HD version and it came with 250Mah batteries. I don't know if this is due to battery availability or not. The battery fits perfectly in the holder on the model. I have not flown a full battery yet so I'm not sure of the flight time on these batteries. I'll post back once I know what kind of flight time its good for.

    Hi,
    can I pleas ask you for help?
    I just bough a new Mobula6 RDF kit with LiteRadio SE ( same as BetaFPV LiteRadio 2 SE ) .
    Unfortunately I didn't know yet for the common problem with the wiping all of the setting when the battery run out of any juice and after I bind them and fly for a while this happened. I didn't have any dump file save or whatever else I need it to be backed up.
    Now I'm struggling to bind them or adjust any settings. Any idea how to deal with this ?
    Thank you!

    Very nice review! 😎 🤘 💜
    I know he mentions flight times a few times in this video, but GUYS it's not about long flight times with the Mobula6!!! ... It's about HIGH PERFORMANCE, nimble, fast, and exhilarating flights! Changing batteries is quick and easy! I do not suggest you dwell on flight times, and use a maximum of the 350 mah batteries I mention below! Big batteries stifle performance! 😩
    *Next upgrade:*
    Like you said, GNB 350 mah batteries work great! I have 2 six packs purchased on Amazon!
    R3D Shifters Who0p Zero GRAV nylon/carbon fiber frame is a GIGANTIC upgrade! I have two of those, and absolutely love them! Tough as nails, separate parts available super reasonably, no waiting a month to arrive and having it still be a frame from 2016!...and it makes the entire height of the Mobula6 about 3/4"! So, flying through gaps takes on a totally new dimension! RAD looking as can be, it takes the looks from 1960 VW to 2020 all black McClaren! 💥
    Camera is totally protected and props are out of view! Nearly any battery, within reason of course, can be fitted either straight in or toilet 🚽 tank! That helps flight performance, as does the super thin profile! The Mobula6 weighs the same after this incredible mod!!! 😁👍 Customer Service is off the charts from this NYC, NY, USA small company! Design is A++!
    Next mod... EmuMockuka! A combo Emuflight and project Mockingbird tune brings flight performance to a new high!
    I absolutely 😍 love 💖 my Modded Mobula6 and after 3.5 years of adoring who0ps, THIS IS THE VERY BEST, P E R I O D ! 😅
    PS... You should have got the 25000kv motors! That's what makes the Mobula6 totally unique! With these mods it absolutely RIPS indoors and out! Nimble as F U % K! LOL 😜

    • @FPVtips
      @FPVtips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow! I love the energy and really appreciate your comment! A lot of good stuff in here, so I certainly hope many people will read your comment. I'm not one to shame anyone for their choices though also, so if you prefer more chill cinewhoop style flights, you do you. It's true though that the Mobula6 performs like a rocket. 25000kv is no doubt better for racing and zipping around fast, but 19000 is IMO better if you wanna fly a bit outdoors too. Either way, very happy you love the quad, and I sure as heck love mine too :)

    • @FPVtips
      @FPVtips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      regardless of the battery's capacity I stop flying at 3.5v, unless i really don't care about the battery's life and it's a micro like in this case, where i can push it even further. I don't recommend this, but I'm not the only one doing it either, so there is that :D

      @FPVtips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't touched the PIDs at all, running completely stock. IMO for 95% of the use cases the tune is pretty ok, and in this case it fits my flight style so didn't change anything :)

    • @jonathankaneking
      @jonathankaneking 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FPVtips thanks! I guess being new I thought you always need to tune. Will switch back to stock. Until I try the project mockingbird!

    • @o3rMeNs
      @o3rMeNs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jonathan King The thing you need to tune being new is rates, not pids. Rates are very personal for each pilot and each need to find their preference. Pid tuning is to combat poor flight characteristics but shouldn’t be required on newer quads as most problems have been tackled over the years.

      Depending on your flying style that might be fine if you're pushing it 90% of the flight time. Otherwise, look into new, proven batteries, do some of the esc firmware / betaflight / emuflight software improvements.

    Not sure if anyone has already tried the 350mAh as @FPVtips suggested (I'm too lazy to read all the comments), but here is my experience with GnB 350's:
    1. I should note that thanks to this video I have JESC installed
    2. I have the 19000kv motors
    3. If you plan to buy 350mAh batteries, make sure they are with cables instead of the PH2.0 connectors coming directly out of the body of the battery (I was naive enough to think "ahhh, f*ck the cables - we're saving weight here"). The reason is that the power cable coming out of the mobula6 is too short and I couldn't center the battery properly.
    4. Although the weight difference between 300mAh and 350mAh seems small (a couple of grams), the throttle level for hovering is considerably higher. (this might be because the center of gravity is not at the center of the axles and two of the motors have to compensate).
    BUT
    4. I am consistently reaching flight times of 4:30 (indoors, no crazy freestyle) even when doing a few turtle mode flips and following the 80% rule (I land on 3.72 - 3.75v)
    All in all, I would go with the 350mAh batteries with cables and JESC firmware for considerably longer flight times and with the 300mAh for racier feel with more precise control over the drone.
    Also many, many thanks to FPVtips for the great content. I mean, the quality is one of the best out there. Please, keep up the good work!

    hi, is it possible to flash ESC even with old versions of Betaflight, such as 3.5.7?
    Can you possibly put Blheli firmware back and how? Thanks

    • @FPVtips
      @FPVtips  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely don't take my word for it and do some extensive research, buuuut in general it should be possible. Flashing your ESCs with firmware has for the most part nothing to do with Betaflight, unless some compatibility concerns have to be taken into consideration. For BLHeli just use the BLHeli configurator, it's pretty straightforward.

    • @FPVtips

      I'm currently working on a video that shows how to flash Emuflight, but the process is identical. To flash firmware use the Betaflight Configurator (github.com/betaflight/betaflight-configurator/releases), and select "Update firmware". Then you can select from the existing list or load firmware from a file.

    Hi I'm using the X-Lite Pro, how did you get it to work on D8? I found out on the OpenTX companion not to mark the EU-LBT but I still couldn't get it on D8. Could you pls explain your method? Stay safe & take care!

    • @FPVtips
      @FPVtips  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would assume that the X-Lite Pro comes with the ACCESS protocol. I'm "lucky" in a sense that I have an older X-Lite radio before FrSky started pushing their ACCESS protocol. I think unfortunately the answer to your question is that in your case you probably cannot bind in D8 mode (or if you find a way, I'm very curious to learn how).
      You should be able to bind just fine in D16 mode without any issues. For the better part, there's not a lot of super big differences between D8 and D16, so hopefully this should not be an issue for you. Stay safe and happy flying :)

      Unless you want RPM filtering you don't need Betaflight 4.1 and you don't need a license for JESC. If you want also RPM filtering, then you do need to flash Betaflight 4.1 and you need to purchase a license for the JESC firmware.

    Will it work with d16 mode?

    • @FPVtips
      @FPVtips  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see some people having issues and others reporting it's ok, so definitely do some more research on this topic. I haven't tried it out myself, mainly because I'm not a fan of what FrSky did with the ACCESS protocol, and I'm keeping an old Taranis X-LIte (pre ACCESS) with D8 available just for my micros. I am moving towards a multiprotocol radio, like the RadioMaster TX16S. Sorry I can't help more with this particular issue, perhaps you at least understand my reasoning. Long story short, I think FrSky shot themselves in the foot with ACCESS.

      I didn’t change anything, I think maybe the motors need to be oiled, what do you think

    • @FPVtips
      @FPVtips  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bajablastfreeze4957 I've seen only 1 video ever talk about oiling the motors and while there is without a doubt some small benefit from doing that, it will never be to the extend to affect your flight times by like 50% or more. In most cases the effect of oiling the motors would be quite marginal. If you feel like going after it, go for it. But if you really think you have an issue with flight times, I'd look into my batteries, prop combinations, motors, weight. If you have the out of the factory config with Betaflight 3.5.7 and JESC with 48kHz firmware, stock props and the batteries are not dead from being flown too low too much, you should be getting good results. Let me know how it works out if the oiling helps I'm curious!
