Yeah Mike I'm a sloth myself. I've been a sloth since day one I think. You know I like sloths and behavior. I think you know I can resemble that comment or that what today is. A sloth is basically you know somebody that just likes to chill out. Anyway I'm going to watch the whole video here but I'm glad I learned today that there is a sloth day. Didn't know that existed. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Good morning, Robert; I thank you for tuning in and the comments. I thought it was just too good to pass up. At one time I could have gotten into hanging out in trees and growing moss on the top of my head. Now, I am satisfied sitting in my glider chair in front of a computer screen or the TV. LOL! Have a great Thursday. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning, Gerald; Thank you for dialing in and the comments. It is to be a really decent day here. I am going to abandon Ft. Morgan for a while today to chase the UP "Big Boy" as it returns to Cheyenne this afternoon. Have not decided exactly where I will intercept it yet but well north of Denver and Greeley. You are right. It is time for that first cup of coffee. Have a great day down there. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning Mike Another arrival/departure in the dark. With the upcoming time change maybe the arrivals will be in daylight for awhile, until the dead of winter anyway. Thanks for the response yesterday, always enjoy when you speak frankly about what is on your mind. Makes it interesting! Looks like nice fall weather there, enjoy it! Best, as always Ted
Good evening, Ted; I thank you for dialing in as well as the comments. It won't gat as light as one would think. Ant that will last only about a week. But it is nice to see them in some natural lighting and not be on the direly late side. I have upset some with what I consider to be openness of thought. Too bad. I try to be tolerant of others and then grumble under my breath about some opposing views. But that is what makes the world go round. Anyway, have a great evening out there. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning, Jeb; Thank you for dropping by along with the comments. It was crisp feeling yet kinda hazy. Lots of dust again. Those folks were from Maryland. I hope they have a great visit and all up north. He isn't a newer conductor. I don't have his name down, but I will learn it. He wasn't ready for a long dwell time. LOL! Anyway, gotta check on Big Boy's where abouts. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning, Norman; Thanks for tuning in along with the comments. Yep. Almost too long of a dwell time today. They had the railroad to themselves until they got to Brush. The dispatcher had several lined up behind the Zephyr. have a great Wednesday. Please take care and stay safe!
Always enjoy watching the train come in. Is there a metal fabrication or welding plant near the station? I sounds like someone is grinding or cutting metal in the background.
Good evening and thanks for dropping by along with the comments. Unfortunately, there is a steel fabrication shop directly south across the tracks from the depot. To say I was annoyed with the grinder noise is an understatement. But that is work going on and paying the bills for those working there. They are working 24/6 over there on major projects for Cargill Meat Packers, and Leprino Cheese plant as well as ongoing projects for Western Sugar. Nice to see them employing local workers to accomplish the tasks. Anyway, have a great evening. Plese take care and stay safe!
Good morning, Mike. Eventful.day - lots of horn music on the approach, the fabricators are grinding away and a long wait after early arrival. Question is where's Darrell on these delays.? There's time for coffee & conversation. Cleaning gals arriving soon. After they leave, I believe I'll curl up on the recliner and take a nap in honor of Sloth Day. Stay safe & be careful.
Good morning, Jim; I thank you for dialing in and the comments. I had hoped to get more horn music as they left. I did get the grinder noises from the fab shop. There was a northeast wind which helped on the inbound side and did not assist on the outbound run. Oh well. I think Darrell laid off for a day or two. Hope that he is ok. I was going to ang out for Sloth Day but have other engagements, I hope. Like Big Boy north of Greeley after a while. I'll save up for a rerun of Sloth Day. Enjoy Wednesday back there. Please take care and stay safe!
Mike. I meant to add that I have the Amtrak tracker app up and noticed Number 6 just departed Osceola for Ottumwa. So they have made the Heartland already. Mark in Iowa.
Good morning and thanks for dialing in as well as the comment. I have been trackside for 4014 on three other occasions. Not boring but becoming old hat. I would really do a chase of 844 again. It's all still steam so I won't kick too hard. Have a great Wednesday. Please take care and stay safe!
Good afternoon, Jim; Thanks for dropping by and the comments. The closest enclave is in far northwestern Nebraska along the Wyoming/South Dakota/Montana boarders. These folks have another 4.5 hours or more of travel time left when they depart Fort Morgan. It is almost a straight road north from here to their destination. Have a great Wednesday afternoon and evening. Gotta get on the road to seek the Big Boy. Please take care and stay safe!
Good Wednesday morning Mike! A cool 48 degrees presently in southeast Iowa. Should be 61 if we’re fortunate enough today! Just 2 Amish families detraining this morning I see. That wasn’t Sam was it acting as AC? Hope you hit your 71 degree mark today! Have a great Wednesday regardless Sir! I definitely am! Currently enjoying my Waffle House k-cup coffee! Mark in Iowa.
Good morning, Mark; Thank you for stopping by along with the comments. It is 48 F. at 0925 MDT. Should be a nice day to chase #4014. Plan on meeting the engine north of Greeley to stay away from the maddening crowds. They want to get to Cheyenne anyway. Those folks were from Mechanicsburg, Maryland. Been on a train for a while. I chatted with them while they were stretching out the kinks. No. Not Sam. I don't have the names down yet. I am not sure who the lead conductor was. Might get a name on Friday morning. Hope that you have a great Wednesday back there. Please take care and stay safe!
Sorry Mike. Platform activity always good to see. Looks like about time to drain the hoses agent the well pump put away this weekend. Oh well it's that time of year 😢. Be safe out there and enjoy the day.
Good morning, David; Thanks for dropping by and the comments. We still have the hoses at the ready yet drained. May have to water the yard one more time. And the trees a couple more. About 30% of the ears have hit the ground and now need a good windstorm to force the rest to the ground. I don't think we will save any or many this year. Hope that you have a great day over there. Please take care and stay safe!
A good morning to you Mike from 71 mid Tenn. Those Amish folks seem to utilize Amtrak a lot. Always departing Ft Morgan, do they come from Chicago or where to eventually get to Nebraska home? Have yourself a good coffee day.
Good morning, Kenny; I thank you for tuning in and the comment. It si rather boring to have to stand around for a couple of minutes prior to getting back to road speed. Oh well. Have a great Wednesday back there. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning and thank you for stopping by along with the comment. Yep. We are seeing the faces of the latest class from conductor training. This one has been here a while. I just don't have his name down yet. LOL! I'll learn it though. Have a great Wednesday. Please take care and stay safe!
Good afternoon, jean-michaelmenard394; Thank you for looking in and the comments. I understand but I cannot stop progress on major construction projects that Mid-West Millwright Inc. had going on. It could have been their music being played at MACH 9 and other noises. To say I was happy with them is absolutely false. Anyway, there is a volume control for your speakers as well as the control I use for my speakers. LOL1 Anyway, have a great Wednesday evening. Please take care and stay safe!
Good morning, Cheryl; Thanks for stopping by and the comments. In a word, no. I don't think so. LOL!! Have a great Wednesday. Please take care and stay safe!

There must be an Amish facility of some sort nearby given the number who arrive from time to time. Have a good day, Mike.

I was going to ask about them, I'm in the UK so didn't know about them.

Should have said " always arriving Ft Morgan". Haven't seen any departing on eastbound ,#6 that I have noticed on Marne' s videos.
That new crew member not as happy go lucky as the other ones.
Good morning, Kenny; I thank you for tuning in and the comment. It si rather boring to have to stand around for a couple of minutes prior to getting back to road speed. Oh well.
