I live in omaha nebraska usa, for 20 years now , I have never felt unsafe, if I ever consider moving to a different country, it will not be because of money, or health care or safety. I love usa, because no matter where in the world you come from, you will feel you belong here in no time.

2 weeks is a VACATION-not LIVING somewhere. As someone who has been in the UK and US I would not consider myself qualified to say I “lived” somewhere if I was there for two weeks visiting family, not actually working, maintaining a home, and doing the everyday things in normal life.

Exactly. Lol I just spent the last 2 weeks in the UK as someone who lives and works in Nigeria and I feel like the UK has its perks and downsides, but definitely I can’t say I know what it’s like to live there.
I have opinions though. Calm and quite country, roads and houses too tiny. Rooms crazy small. Hotels insanely expensive and overrated. Love the peace and quiet though. That’s luxury since I live in Lagos. 😂

I live in the UK, I think the USA is better in terms of making money. If you are aged 22-40 and you are single without kids, The USA is better for the sole purpose of making money. This whole notion of free health care would become almost nonsensical with the overcrowding problem we have here. Every country has its issues yes. Her point is valid for those within the health industry. However as she said 40 times bigger equates to 40 times more opportunities.
In conclusion if you are young and without kids and want to make money fast, the USA is the better option as it has more opportunities! The UK pound may be strong, but aside London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, Leeds and the big cities in Scotland, if you are not into health care or a trade like electrician, you are restricted! Even chartered accountants can’t find work here in UK.
    However her videos are great!

As someone who lives in Germany, I always have the same opinion. The main reason I prefer to live in Germany, is that there are systems to support families and the working culture plus governance is built to support families, and to earn comfortably but not crazy high amounts like the USA.

Anyone earning $5500 to $6,000 a month and is only able to save $800 after bills and all is living above their means. You should be able to save about $2000-2500 every month. If a person is married, then that income is doubled. I don’t think the US is overrated.

63% of Americans leave paycheck to paycheck, and 50% of those earning above 100k per year leave also paycheck to paycheck. Yes, you can say they leave above their means, but if the majority is like this, then maybe this is the new normal for the US.

I lived in the USA and visited UK for a week and based on my experience in that one week and the experience my friend (pharmacist) and the wife (a nurse) told me which personally are not things I ove to hear about the health system( long wait time for MRI) for a fracture) and garbage collection every 2 weeks. To some people, those two negatives are enough to make them believe not like the UK if you're coming from the USA where you can get MRi or CT or US the same day or next day with health insurance and garbage collected twice weekly in the county I reside in the USA. My dear presenter. Two weeks are not enough for unbiased assessments of these 2 beautiful countries. Where are the Google. Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Boeing, Tesla and so on are headquartered? I believe the USA. Why? because of the system that encourages hard work and innovation. The biggest 10 fortune 500 companies are based in the US. Another things the presenter failed to understand and explain to her audiences is that you forgot to mention that the USA has 50 states and each states is like a country or bigger in Europe with law peculiar to the governing of those states unlike in the UK that blanket law.
For an individual who is ambitious and have great ideas to make positive impact in the World, I will suggest USA is the place. Both the USA and UK are great countries, but comparing both countries with information just obtained after 2 weeks stay in the USA are not enough to give your audiences the true picture. Nevertheless, I say great job for even trying to post this

To be honest she did mention that the USA is bound to have 40 times more opportunities compared to the UK, she did also emphasise that her assessment is based on her personal preferences. She also did an analysis of states and said that Vermont, and some new England states were similar to the certain Northern European economies. New York she said was quiet dear.

Good points made, you can also have a side hustle in the US and even make more because you only work 3 days/week and one 4-day week in a month. By the way, not all nurses get paid biweekly in the US, depending on your union. As a new grad nurse in NY, I get paid every week and make 6 figures ( over 100k$ with no overtime), then I still have my other side hustle and decide to pick up OT when I feel like it. With security issues, I think you nailed it. Nowhere is totally safe, we also hear about gangs and knife violence in the UK though in the US gun violence is a big thing, and that majorly depends on where you live like you said. Every state/city has its own predominantly safe areas, just know about your zip code. People sometimes look for cheap neighborhoods to live in and complain about crime. what do you expect?? One of my friends recently came in from the UK, had a nice/safe time in every state he visited and on his last two days decided to rent a cheap Airbnb in Newark, NJ because his flight was taking off to the UK from Newark. I picked him up at NY airport, hung out and he told me he rented an Airbnb in Newark. I told him to give me the address and after I looked it up, I straight told him he rented an Airbnb in the hood and should have let me know before doing that. He was like how do I know the area is not a good area. Long story short, I went to drop him off there that night. The next building's neighbors were all smoking weed heavily outside lol. I took him to the grocery to get all he needed and told him to just stay indoors all night till the next morning he was going to the airport. The next morning he called me screaming there were gunshots fired on his street and cops were everywhere with the roads blocked on his way to the airport, He was like I am traumatized and I just want to get back to the UK then I was like I told you.

In nhs you have to wait for years, at least 10 to 15 years to get 8d which is equal to the amount of an entry nurse in US with less than a year experience.

It also depends on which state you live in . Some states are expensive , cost of living is high compared to others .
The wage rate is also determined by cost of living in each state. California, New York are among expensive states compared to Texas and Arizona which are relatively cheaper . However , i believe that it depends on what one really wants , their priorities … and after weighing the pros & cons of both countries then make a decision that works for an individual and his or her family . Thanks again Nanelle for the great insight .

Hello @Nannelle thank you for this beautiful review but you forgot to mention that Nursing practice is far better in the US than the UK.I got a question for you did you work in a hospital while you were in the US?
I was in the Uk for over 2years and i must tell you roles are well spelled out in the US.In the Uk your HCA tells you to share their roles with them cos responsibilities are not well defined,it is so different in the US because you focus on your Nursing roles and nothing else.I must say there are a lot of responsibilities i had in the Uk that are not my roles in the US.What is the point of going to work and you dont enjoy what you do due to the working environment. I think you can review this only if you have worked or stayed in the US for 3-6months...Thats my take.

Lovely content but the comparison of California annual salary to a Band 8 UK nurse is not comparable dear because it will take a nurse more than 5 years to climb to Band 8 and start earning that much whereas that’s the entry salary of a newly graduated nurse or a new migrant nurse in California.
