I worked in the UK for a period of 28 months and I have been in the USA since May 2023. In terms of cost of living, I’m comfortable in the US even without picking up extra shifts and in a month, I earn 5 figures salary after taxes and insurance whenever I pick up extra shifts like I was doing In the UK. In the UK, my survival depended on bank shifts - I don’t regret my move. Overall, this was an excellent video.
Hi whereabouts did you move? I'm currently working in the northeast, I'm thinking of moving to USA, with my wife and child. You are right, here in Uk I have to do banks just to have extra money to save.
Hey Manassey, Nanelle Griselda told me you shouted out our channel. I love this video and your production quality is on point! I'm glad I helped guide you on your journey to the US. Congrats and welcome to the states!
OMG I can’t believe this. You’re such an inspiration Jason, thanks for all you do. Keep leading the way and hopefully I get to meet you before you jet off to NY 😄😄
You sound very much like Dr Amu, a urologist at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital. A very nice man, and wealthy too. I like your honesty in talking about the bills in the US.
You have said it all about earnings and expenses in the USA (no matter the srate). Life looks better in the UK. More savings if one works in private hospital here in the UK.
Thank so much for your sharing 🎉I’m from Thailand I wanna to be a registered nurse in US ,and I passed Nclex done .I am just waiting for EB3 visa backlog 😂and the result of English exam .I hope you are doing well in your job in USA 🎉.
Hi Manassey, I’m registered nurse in Uk but now in US willing to work as RN . Have done my evaluation through cfgns and has been approved but my Georgia board of nursing emailed I have educational deficiencies of maternal infant learning, nursing care of children and gynaecology. What should I do now?
I have never been confused about a decision than i am now. I have been a UKRN for over a year now and i dont see myself progressing here i feel like everything is just too high for me. Im in london and you know how expensive it is and i was thinking of moving to USA coz i have also been following nurses to riches channel and looks like the US has better opportunities. I have started my application for New York as the requirements are less, am just waiting for my ATT. But after watching your video am not really sure if i have made the right decision, i wish i could get more clear guidance on this. Do you think the US is better than UK. Il really appreciate your honest advice.
@@ManasseyTetteh thank you for your response, ill continue with my US process. I know both places have their cons i think i choose suffering in the US than this UK😂
This is a very interesting video. Thank you. subscribed! does the scope of competencies change in US compared to UK? is there still progression like in the UK you can become a CNS, ANP etc.

Well, I didn’t actually say that. I just gave an opinion as a new nurse in a new country feeling confused about some things. The interpretations will be different, just as my experience was different.
@bglr2783 how sure are you? I have only 3carers with me on the shift and per the home's policy, we act as a 4th carer in addition. Which means pairing with one carer to do personal care and repositioning in the morning b4 medication round plus Insulin and Bm monitoring. Coupled with any issues that may arise. It may be easier where you know but not where I am
@@maryasamoah9378 yes the medication rounds in the morning is usually just then 7:00am meds which will be very few. Nursing home staffing in the US is terrible as well from what I have heard. 30 plus patients for one staff. So no difference.
Thank you for sharing your experience in the United States, but to give clarity to some of us affected by retrogression or still planning to take the NCLEX and come over; WHAT STATE ARE YOU IN? I’m only asking because of the percentage’s you’ve given out with regard to spending. Thanks 👊🏽
I’ll be happy to discuss more details in private Nana. But this video just gives information that can be used as pointers in what plans to make prior to your migration journey.
Informative and educative but I think you generalised everything which I found to be a little off. In terms of salary, cost of living it’s always going to depend on the state you live in and once you put everything under one umbrella it makes it tough.
Your feedback is true but, let’s scope of this video is not to delve into the details of every state I’m speaking from my experience, which is why I stated that that is what I pay. It is unfortunate that it came across to you as a general representation of what’s happening in every state in the United States, which is not what I said. But I hope this video helps bring some value to you. Thank you.
@@ManasseyTetteh, unfortunately that is how your video seems to say . In other to be fair it would then be appropriate your state that in terms of which state you are currently living
It depends on a number of things mainly the immigration climate at the time. For instance under the current retrogression, nobody knows how long it will take.
@@ManasseyTettehThis video is very informative and one can tell a lot of preparation went into it. Good job. I could get 2 or even 3 seperate contents from this video. 1. Why you moved to the US (5 MIN) 2.Opportunities for nurses in the US 3. Personal experience as a nurse in the US and even 4. Living conditions in the US compared to the UK Most people are not interested in long videos with no exciting visuals but just an individual seated giving what almost sounds like an academic speech. 🤣🤣🤣have been laughing for the past 5 days after watching your video and I think I should put down a comment. You have explained everything very perfectly except the fact that you clearly defended your financial illiteracy. You can’t just increase your standard of living and even go beyond it and expect to save money. Maybe first live within your means and be able to save enough then after you can think of what to do with the saved money in order to raise your standard of living. Most nurses in the UK do not even drive a car that would cost them 100pounds a month and you move to US and probably start paying $600 a month for a car eeii🤣. Ma guy you have a lot to learn about money and until you do no matter the amount of money you make would be enough
So say I’m driving a car in the uk I bought for a 1000 pounds and now I move to the US and because I’m earning a lot I immediately get a Range Rover and start paying 1500$ a month and also get other gadgets and I come online and tell you I’m not able to Save $1000 dollars and that I believe I do not have to reduce my expenses but rather work on getting more money 🤣🤣funny .
