You definitely make the game sound interesting! I have to admit it overwhelms me with these deep games with so many routes, because frankly I don't have time to explore all aspects of the game (like hugely multiple plays), but that's just me.

Coincidentally, I needed a break (video to watch) just 2 days after playing this game for the first time. I love the fact that in our game carnivores never got anywhere, but the implied thread of them kept folk on their toes, forcing them to actually keep the defensive traits and increase body size.
I lost miserably but enjoyed the game despite that. I was never 'out of the game' - I may have already lost but I was still making meaningful decisions and causing chaos.
I'd love to try Beginnings sometime. I don't know if I'm likely to see you in January when I see Marta/Konrad, but would you be up for a game around then, or maybe around BGDevCon 2?
I think I'd get a lot out of this, but the truth is that I probably need to start getting rid of games before I buy any more. Space is a real issue. :-/
Btw, I now live in a closer, guest-friendlier place with double bed so could host someone for 2 nights maybe. :-)

I'm pretty sure I played this years ago, early on my hobby game journey. For some reason, I thought it was Dominant Species ...but looks like it's Evolution. Good to know you love it ...I'd like to play it again.
Is Evolution still your favorite game?
It probably would be if I played it more! :) I think it’s an incredible design and I have so much fun when I play it.
It’s been a while since I’ve played Evolution though - other games seem easier to get to the table with my groups (Evolution is a bit harsh for some people).
Currently, I’d say Everdell, Abyss and Bunny Kingdom are probably my favourites.

Found me a $12 2nd edition & a $5 The Beginning copy. How long before I get them tabled ...surely a very long time...smh (...well maybe not The Beginning.)
Everdell & Abyss ...fantastic picks. I checked out Bunny Kingdom from the BGG library last yr, started reading the rules, & still haven't played it ...grrrrr ...hopefully soon though.

I haven't posted a video for a while - over-run with real-life stuff the last few weeks but I'll get back onto it soon :) I've had good news about all of the prototypes I took to Essen now, which means there should be five of my designs arriving on the shelves over the next couple of years! Now I need to design some more in time for Essen 2017!

No, I haven't ever made one. It's a daunting task making a video for such a well-loved (and also well-hated) game! I've played Agricola probably approaching 100 times now but still feel I have more to explore. I'm sure I'll make a video on it someday! I did however make a video comparing Agricola to Caverna a few years ago.
