The Mahindra Thar is a compact and mid-size four-wheel drive off-road and sport utility vehicle (SUV), manufactured by Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. The vehicle was launched in the Indian market on October 4, 2010[1] to fill the void left by its predecessor the Mahindra MM540. The Thar has been voted one of the top 10 SUVs available in the Indian market. Three variants-DI 2WD, DI 4WD and CRDe, with available on soft top version.
The Thar also comes with a 7 seater option, though it can be converted in to a two seater.

nice test im must to say autocar is for now best motoring program on market , bike in this case have not to good tire for offroad .

if only there was impulse back when the roads in the city used to be flooded even after one simple rain. you guys took the bike to extreme challenges so considering what the bike had on it it did way too good. hats the specialty of hero bikes!

Doesnt the fact that it comes without a limited slip differential make the 4WD worse? I mean, you now have 4 wheels which can loose traction totally spinning off like that...

i already tried bro.....himalayan cant even close to impulse....my bikes impulse only lost once with duke in high way......after all my bike is not for highway.. its the king of off road

brothers, when the tyres get stuck in mud like that my husband simply shoves a 2 feet long wood tangential to the tyre either behind it or in front of it where ever there is lower gradation and ramms on accelerator. the bike / car jumps out.

whats so gr8 abt these machines? i mean Thar is gud car but hero impulse has done nothing diff than other bikes.. i have done this on P200, unicorn and hunk... even seen avenger crossing this track...

It is easier on Impulse, plus the Impulse can do a lot more.
Impulse head looking like passion pro's head light & impulse indicators are too out!!
Any how thar has good power to pull up !! If thar gets 6 cylinders then no it's much more torque to climbing !!! The differential is a problem !! For off-roading people with 5'9 atleast can do off-roading on bike especially on dirts
compare thar with a proper offroad bike, better yet compare with a bmw f800gs...
