Only reason why Jimny did not become a hit is the exorbitant pricing. We Indians always do an evaluation whether the product I am spending money on is worth my money. If it would have been couple of lakhs cheaper, the story would have been different.

@@gautambanerjee7123Gurkha is also a pretty nice option. Especially if one plans to modify it. Its small and not as agile as jimny but gets the job done. It also has a very small turning circle. All spot on. Just picked up a Jimny last week....in Sikkim. Needed a small 4x4 SUV to reach our project site. Have been around the hills a bit. It works.
As mentioned before. Jimmy is misunderstood in India. It’s one a few cars built on pedigree. The recently published sales figure shows, people don’t value competent products.
Only refined and experienced people will like Jimny. Those who think looks and muscles are everything then they can go for Thar with a short expiry period!
Owned a jimny for last five months , never regretted buying it at full price . The only thing that some times bothers me is the city mileage but highway mileage makes it a pleasure to drive on long runs .
Most brilliant and best choice for Bengaluru traffic and off roads sir , service cost is like servicing a bike, engine oil costs 1200₹ and labour charge depends on service centre and we can say easy maintenance and reliability is 100%. Rear wheel drive experience for affordable price 🎉🎉🎉 nexa road side assistance is best.

I was also booked a jimny during that period but changed the car to breeza due to family.... Great and honest review, thanks. I live in Central America. I have the 2022 three door, bought in mid 2021. Not that I am a fan of the 5 door, I agree with everything you say and the build quality has exceeded my expectations. I only have 2 airbags, and not any of the other safety features you have in yours. First I was pretty upset that Suzuki valued the lives of Latin Americans less than in other parts of the world. But then I calmed down realizing that I’ve never bought a car with the intention to be in a crash. And even more so with my beloved Jimny. As I drive some off-road I have added front & rear diff-lockers, 10 extra spotlights, and a lot of extra modifications inside the car, including cup holders, USB-charging ports, 4-band walkie-talkies, automatic windows closing when locking the car, a rear cargo net, an automatic dash cam, three strong reverse lights, much better shock absorbers from Ironman, a very good throttle controller from Torqit in Australia (it has an anti-theft mode!), I replaced all halogens with LED’s the H4’s with bulbs from X-7Seven and the rest with bulbs from Headlight Revolution, and more. The Jimny is a great platform for anyone who wants to create a personalized vehicle. And it is a great vehicle off-road too. Here’s a 30 second video of my extra spotlights: th-cam.com/video/wObiXsGxn7c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=T7NiuCMTVj0elwUx If you want to see my car, search for Pacaya Overland at TH-cam.

Excellent choice! Your review of the Jimny is spot on-it truly is a hidden gem, boasting sophistication, modernity, and comfort for up to four passengers.
I resonate with u.. yours is the most sensible and close to reality video I have come across so far. The Thar may be a stunner but its also a highly impractical vehicle. Getting in and out is a task for 2 nd row passengers and they may also feel claustrophobic as the windows cant be opened. The boot space is absolutely zero and rear passengers are always at risk if there is an impact from behind..The features are very very basic. so Thar is basically a vehicle for personal usage or for just 2 people.
Excellent assessment. The Jimmy is a fantastic car with Japanese dependability, but I believe its debut pricing severely undervalued it. The Thar's road presence is likewise absent from the Jimny. Jimny's build quality is exceptional, free of the typical maruti characteristics.
This is a great choice Sir!!💯 I've also liked the Jimny over the Thar, Thar has become too common on roads these days, but a Jimny on the road always stands out! 🔥
2nd gen jimny aka gypsy was closer to 4th gen jimny in international market as it was more boxy outside India. 4th gen jimny is very much based on the design of gypsy only. Most of the reviewers end up being too intensified about their opinion and end up portraying the review as a marketing tactic. Thank you for this review sir, it really modified my opinion on this category. Expecting a long term review.
As a fervent enthusiast of all things powered by combustion engines, I'm delighted that you opted for an SUV genuinely capable off-road rather than a commonplace crossover masquerading as one. As always, happy motoring!

Do people think they can drive their huge SUVs through narrow twisty steep raw roads in the hills? But I am a bit put off by Jimmy's large turning radius. I am really impressed with the Suzuki Jimny car, it's an exceptional vehicle that deserves all the accolades it's getting. The version with the best tires is particularly noteworthy because it's the tires that provide the necessary grip and traction for off-road driving. I really appreciate your review of the car, Amigo, it was insightful and informative. I would love to see more of the Jimny in action, especially when driving off-road and crossing rivers. So, thanks for sharing your experience and inspiring me to take a closer look at the Jimny! Stay Blessed!🚙
good choice Kripal. Jimny is perfect for people who “know what they want”. it is a very accomplished vehicle. the Jimny 3 door first came alive in Overseas markets in 2018. Ive got my Gypsy now and much as it pains me to say it, one day I will replace it with a Jimny. I also have the 2021 Thar and it is very different to the Gypsy and Jimny. But honestly that Jimny and its tiny footprint and lightness and overall agility is very appealing (to me) as compared to the Brawn and Might of the Thar. I dont know why. The Jimny turning radius is big. Because of the Rigid Front Axle. Like the Gypsy too. The Thar with its Independent Front Suspension makes for a smaller turning radius. As you said, the Thar is lovely when you sit in front. But the rear, the less said the better even with upgraded suspension like I have in mine. The Jimny, well, it is far more practical and comfortable too. I think one has to be an “evolved” customer, to truly appreciate the Jimny.
Yea! This is unique. When I saw it first, I stopped for a good 3 - 4 min to have a look. Was surprised to see the Suzuki logo in front. Looks small but definitely a head turner. Then I checked the price, it told me 20 lacs, that was quite a lot. Glad to know prices been slashed. Good 1 kripal.
That was a clear cut comparison with Jimny n Thar. Amazing !!!. Whatever i was thinking you have explained :). Car lovers will know how they admired Gypsy those days and always dreaming of owning one as we see all Gypsy out there in Defence sectors clearly decorated on Republic day , but is there any one say i love Mahindra 540 MM those days and love to own one ...definitely not :) They can google out on Jimny 's 40 years existence and its Global presence , but we cant own a new Gypsy now and Jimny is the one we can go for. See one thing people need to understand , you cant have comfort and 4 x 4 off-road in one car , except for high end premium SUVs and you have to spend more. But Jimny is small compact SUV which can be used daily for office commuting , in highways and off road mainly. Thar definitely is Bumpy ride car due to its wheelbase less than Jimny , so city ride and high way is a challenge. Suzuki has done Jimny smartly for Indian market with 4 door option , sorry Thar :) four door (pssh Rubicon copy) is still under way in Mahindra. Most importantly i love rear wheel drive cars , and Jimny is rear wheel drive + 4 x4 is really great. Jimny as petrol version to my knowledge can give mileage upto 14 kmpl if we maintain speed at right rpm , this is not the case with Thar petrol and it gives mere 5 to 7 kmpl as it is 2 litre Petrol engine with high bhp and torque. I believe Kripal view on Jimny is correct , yes there are pros and cons in any car, but who would like to stay out crowd in off road and practicality wise then Jimny is the one..
Congratulations 🎉. I wish you had spoken little more on Gurkha as well. I understood from the vidoe that you wouldn't like such bulky machines but was expecting that you will talk few more lines on it as much as you did on Thar. Anyways happy driving and go great miles on it.
Kripal ji, I just loooove your crisp, clear, precise, informative and interesting way of delivering your content to your viewers. You are one of about 20-30 people I would love to meet in person one-on-one for a hot coffee to talk about anything and everything (except perhaps politics and religion). Its a nice car sir and nicely reviewed. Congratulations. Like you, I have started following up the Jimny since its international launch. I am hopeful that one day I will get one.
Wonderful Video Anna . Now Surely More people may think of Buying this Vehicle because of Your OPINION 😊👍 . Hope The Makers Continue to Make in Future too 👍
What makes you different from others is your gentleness, no showmanship, tactful narration both in food & other disciplines. But I believe you belong to food as you enjoy it along with presenting it. Best wishes
I just switched to a new Jimny from my old Gypsy. And the Jimny is the ideal little modern Gypsy. Jimny, the Grandson has all the “DNA” and the ‘feel” and “soul” of the Old School Grandpa Gypsy. It is the perfect update for Modern Times. With all the creature comforts that one may wish for. More than enough capability for the Urban as well as Jungle Trails.
Hi Kripal. Nice to see you driving around in your new jimny. I have driven the Thar as well as the Gypsy. My loyalty is towards the gypsy as I've driven this vehicle more than my car in my 16 year service career. Will test drive the jny as well.
Jimmy is a very sensible buy considering our Indian roads. It includes a 4WD & 2 additional doors default which is an added bonus. I own a Mahindra Scorpio SLE 2011 which I bought used since I wanted to experience the mighty mhawk! The transmission let's the engine down in my opinion. But, I can just keep looking at it all day & smile 😊
Good choice Sir... Nevertheless, Gurkha is not to be underrated...Force Motors are Pioneers in Automotive Industry in India keeping pace with the changing landscape of this Sector... My request is You give Reviews on Thar & Gurkha as well Sir but at a leisurely pace...
We bought two of these. One each for my father and myself. My parents are touring homes of relatives of Kerala in mine right now, started from Bangalore; my father is driving at the age of almost 75 (their piece is in Belgaum in their farmhouse).
Hello Kripal ji. If you made the video just say people why you chose this vehicle then it was not needed coz choice is individual all will respect that. Don't worry. Enjoying your life as per your satisfaction is more imp. And I know you do that. Cheers. Happy driving.
@kripalamannavlogs Sir I am planning for my first suv and in my mind I have Gurkha as the first option. I don't mind its bulkiness and below high quality design like Thar. What would be your opinion if I can go with Gurkha or would you suggest something else?
Thanks for the owner's review. The large turning radius of Jimny is because of the steering knuckle design and solid front axles. Your point about off-roading crowd favoring manual transmission is not quite right. All over the world rock crawling crowd prefer automatics as you're able to modulate throttle much better as compared to a stick shift. Also Jimny everywhere else in the world eg Australia, South Africa or LATAM where it is sold is actually priced higher than in India, a country where people equate the pricing of the car with its size. Enjoy your ride.
I dont know why everybody was drooling and asking suzuki to bring jimny to india at first and after it came say its small, pricey etc. You know the specs of three door jimny and if the length is increased by certain mm it will still be a compact one. Jimny is a international model and priced cheaper when compared to other nations' 3 door jimny. I am a proud jimny owner and am happy with everything including its performance.
it didn't sell because it was overpriced also, they didn't fix smaller 40ltr fuel tank, adding 2x20ltr tank on roof is not advisable, it messes up with ride. Yet they didn't made 80 ltr in 5 door version, they had time. Also they had time to add storage spaces like cup holders, bottle holder, rear defogger wire is exposed. Maruti they had superb chance to make this an legendary. Size is perfect, weight increase is ok. lack of UT support in seat is again missed opp. This is my dream car will get it this year if they keep them on sale here in India
Hi Kripal...a great buy...im not sure if this vehicle is in South Africa....i will check I want to know about the road grip of this vehicle...especially in wet weather Eg...the Fortuner looks great but can turn over in bad weather...it lifts from the back wheels So i want to know about this vehicle road grip
I live near a national park. Own 2 gypsy kings (including a modified one with a AC, power steering enabled rally cabin), 1 crysta, 1 Jeep CJ3B and recently my wife bought a Thar as she thought the Jimmy felt like a matchbox when we drove it. The Jimny to us is a boo boo compared to the Gypsy King in terms of front seating space, functionality and awesomeness. I’ve ordered one though being a Jimny fan boy and I do believe a lot of the points you’ve made are very relevant. Still, the Jimny feels like a toy compared to the Gypsy or the Thar. It actually shouldnt be compared to the Thar, as it actually doesn’t even come close. It is a smaller, versatile mountain goat on its own and should be seen as such, just as the Gypsy King was never compared to the old Mahindra jeeps and ended up and still is the King. :)
Thank you for the video, Kripal. Now, even I feel the Jimny is a far better deal than Thar, particularly since Maruti has reduced the price. For quite some time, I was considering buying Thar as a second car (My current one is a 11-year old Skoda Rapid petrol which I adore). Now I'm not so sure. Reasons: 1. The waiting period ( It's so long, I feel it's not worth the wait) 2. The bumpy ride 3. The pathetic mileage 4. The price (21 lakhs for top end petrol, did you say? No way is it worth that much)
I got the first jimny in goa. Havd done around 20000 kms already. Do around 100 km a day min. Been to Hyderabad alone. Its been one of the best decision. Only drawback is that it gets a bit stuffy with people inside & the headlights remind me of a khandil. Im 64 years young.
Superb vehicle. For its features and price, I think it's a no-brainer. Once people get to know more of this vehicle and its sales pick up, Maruti will certainly raise the prices. Anyways, congrats on a great choice and hope to see some quality travel vlogs with it.
Its a Superb 4x4 Version of what S-Presso is (I own S-Presso) what potential draw backs and advantages I have with S-Presso, Jimny 4X4 Solves it completely and Amplifies the Advantages! 😊 I hope to afford and Buy Jimny...
Good, refined review. Concise and clear! I'm in a similar situation. Have the New Tata Safari as the highway runner and a bike. need a second smaller car as the run in town errands and fun vehicle. Sold my Ignis recently and am now trying to decide between the Jimny, the Skoda Kushaq and the Honda Elevate. Reading up all I can before I take a call. Real, truthful unbiased reviews like yours help immensely! Thank you. Nice watch, btw! Always had a soft spot for the Seamaster 300

I drove a gypsy form 1987 until quite recently. It was a most capable off-roader and I drove it extensively off road and even convinced the forest officer at Chilla thar it was better than the mahindra jeep 4x4. However my 2017 Thar is indubitably a better off-roader due to the differential lock and extra torque. You are quite wrong about the drivability of the Thar! It is easy to drive and park in the city and most importantly ,spare parts are cheap and ubiquitous. The longitudinal rear seats easily accommodate 6 people behind . There are several advantages of having a soft top Thar whe n it comes to transporting objects such as refrigerators etc. For my needs the Thar easily out performs the new Jimny but only surpasses the old Gypsy by way of having a rear differential lock.
My comparison was not with the earlier generation Thar, but the more recent version. Tbh, I prefer the ruggedness and unique design statement of the older version to the current one. Having said that, neither Thar would fit my bill of requirements as much as the Jimny did. I have driven the old Thar too, and it feels rather agricultural. IMO it would be great on an estate or in tne country but lacks the versatility of use cases. But ultimately, it’s about what best suits your use case. You found your Thar 2017 and I’m hoping I’ve found it in my Jimny. Happy motoring! 🙂
My family own an old thar and a new thar … d old one is more versatile… new one has d looks but i dont know… finally i ended up buying a jimny n im extremely satisfied with my decision
I will pick Jimny over Thar,,,,Although, its injustice to compare Jimny with Thar. but both fullfill different sort of customer's requirement ,,, Thar is Thar and Jimny is practical 🙂

I can watch your soothing videos for at least two straight hours. Thank you for your channel and wishing you the best in life. 🙏
Its a nice car sir and nicely reviewed. Congratulations. Like you, I have started following up the Jimny since its international launch. I am hopeful that one day I will get one.
18:05 Link for the suction pipe and camera also please sir
It's a Joby suction cup, you will find it on Amazon, the camera is a gopro 10.
It is a big red flag when a car is not sold in Europe, Suzuki says it is stricter emission norms, others say it lacks safety.
Absolutely agree. I have not drven a gypsy but have ridden it. Even that is better than a ride in a Thar.
From Food To Car, loving ur content
semma! top notch and practical review! kudos!
Plain n true speaking of facts.. informative n useful..Nice Explanation...
If this car would have been in diesel people will like it
The only reason for low sales of this car is does not justifying the price it's too over priced, other wise it's very very good car.
Congratulations again sir, one chooses the one that suits him best, happy travelling and thanks for the insight about your new toy sir.
I love this car so much before entering India.
My home loan soon over then i definetly buy it
Good choice Sir...
Nevertheless, Gurkha is not to be underrated...Force Motors are Pioneers in Automotive Industry in India keeping pace with the changing landscape of this Sector...
My request is You give Reviews on Thar & Gurkha as well Sir but at a leisurely pace...
Nice Sir. I own Maruti Suzuki Eeco AC Van (Petrol) 9 years and still running smooth ❤. I also own a 200cc motorcycle - Hero Xtreme 200R 5 year old. ❤
The automatics from Suzuki suck. What’s the gearbox like, AT or DVT?
You got the good deal for this Car because you agreed for a good review for this car through your channel..😉
Hello! Tbh, I don’t know much about the Gurkha, I don’t fancy its size and huge brawny appeal. Not for me.
Ok, thank you
Thanks for the owner's review.
Buyers remorse lol,U r trying to justify the shttt that u bought, understood
“I don’t really care much about a sunroof” sounds pretty much like me. 😊 nice review.
Hi sir witch brand tyre and size plz
it didn't sell because it was overpriced also, they didn't fix smaller 40ltr fuel tank, adding 2x20ltr tank on roof is not advisable, it messes up with ride.
Hi Kripal...a great buy...im not sure if this vehicle is in South Africa....i will check
I want to know about the road grip of this vehicle...especially in wet weather
Eg...the Fortuner looks great but can turn over in bad weather...it lifts from the back wheels
So i want to know about this vehicle road grip
Hi! I haven't had the opportunity to drive in wet weather yet, but I assume it will be fine. It is now available in SA as Jimny XL, I am told.
I am thrilled and happy to see this , I too have the top end version of the Jimmy ( Oct 23), happy motoring, regards Chef Vijaya Baskaran
Hi Chef, so good to hear from you. It’s been a while, hope you are doing well. Nice to know you drive a Jimny too.
Wonderful explanation. You speak from the heart.
Finally a well made review on one of the most capable, globally renowned and practical SUVs ever...Suzuki Jimny💯🔥
3 minutes in and i still keep hearing him say I'll tell you the reason why i picked this without actually telling it 😂
Simplicity at it's best.. Jimmy ❤
How to get hands on for a long period of time to test drive
Nice color What is this color? Granite grey or bluish black ?
Whats the on road price u got on this and how to get discounted version ..
Reasons: 1. The waiting period ( It's so long, I feel it's not worth the wait)
2. The bumpy ride
3. The pathetic mileage
4. The price (21 lakhs for top end petrol, did you say? No way is it worth that much)
A great practical review.. All points have been put down very aptly n appropriately.. Respect for just not following the herd blindly.!
Which watch there Kripal ji. It almost looks like Rolex or a Tudor
If Thar launches a car with zero hustle to get in at second row then what will be your choice sir?
Sir 🙏, I am looking for used jimny car, pls let me know if you know someone who is selling jimny
And suddenly, after your review , I am considering getting the Jimny for the same purposes that you chose it .
I hope to afford and Buy Jimny...
Go for Volkswagen Taigun
@@sudin001 Taigun and Kushaq is basically the same thing with minor differences.
Congratulations Sir! , people say hundred things, but i agree with you! If it's a good Masala Dosa or a Beautiful Jimny!❤
Congratulations!..kripal..Good choice..
Sir you have a close resemblance with former Sri Lankan Cricketer/ 96' World Cup Member, Former Test Captain; Hashan Tillekeratne👌🏻👍🏼
Excellent review, throws the Maruti Suzuki Jimmy in a very positive light, which is rare.👍🏼
Sir which brand watch ur wearing... looking nice
u ll live 100 years pakka for patience .. to talk, to walk, to eat , etc
man. i tell u, even maruti suzuki not given this good review on jimny. one of the best u delivered.. car or bike or food u remains the same. the class. keep going sir. good luck.😊
Sir whats the on road price in bangalore for All grip
Is that an omega seamaster on your wrist
Does the steering feel heavy on the right?
Happy driving but can this vehicle be used as a primary vehicle for a family
Yes in city, big no on highway
Yes, absolutely, for 4.
Nice comprehend kripal sir, for JIMMINY v/s THAR, once again heartiest congratulations 🎉 sir! 🙏👍
Loved the review👍 i am planning to take one... U have cleared all my doubts.. Brought some clarity🤩
Great buy Sir, no harm in liking small things👍
The best and economical car in 4x4 segment. Fun to drive every time with Jimny
Thanks a lot for sharing this information. Will think of buying this vehicle
I will pick Jimny over Thar,,,,Although, its injustice to compare Jimny with Thar. but both fullfill different sort of customer's requirement ,,, Thar is Thar and Jimny is practical 🙂
Jimny is original design and Thar is just a Jeep knockoff. Yes the Jimny is a bit small and less powerful but it is a step in the right direction
Jimny is too knock off of Gwagon 😂 what are you even talking man.. 😂
lol, the first model of Gwagon was launched in 1979 whereas the first model of Jimny was launched in 1979..@@wellbeing6198
