- With a brand new video style comes a brand new video series. In this very first marathon, I'll be taking a look at 6 of the Pink Puffball's earliest adventures. Strap yourself in, it's gonna be a puffy ride, starting off with the earliest adventures, Kirby's Dream Land and Kirby's Adventure with some Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland as well!

When I was a kid I sucked at video games, always had to get my friends help or use cheats or something, but when I first picked up Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland(My first Kirby Game) I beat it all by myself, which gave me the resolve to tackle harder games with greater strength, if it wasn't for Kirby I might've never really gotten into gaming, thanks Pink Marshmallow.
Sometimes people say Kirby games are on the easy side, but that's because they're perfect for kids.

It's kind of impossible to downright hate a franchise like Kirby. Kirby is one of those franchise that rarely gets hated by people. I've encountered a lot of people who hates other iconic franchises like Mario, Zelda & of course Sonic, but I rarely see someone hate on the Kirby franchise. I guess Kirby is one of those franchises that kind of appeals to both audiences. People love the franchise because of the cuteness of the series or people love the series because of Kirby's badass copy abilities or how the series can get epic, climatic & dark near the end in almost every Kirby game. It also helps that Kirby is such a likable character, despite him only saying "Hii" & "Poyo." He has so much character personality throughout the series. Whether it be him acting cute & innocent or him being a total badass by wielding a giant sword or using his copy abilities in such awesome ways. Kirby is definitely one of Nintendo's most beloved franchises.

The only hate I’ve seen against Kirby games is that they are “for babies” but that’s a common “criticism” most people have against Nintendo.
I've seen many people hate the franchise, but not a single person who hates the character. With Mario, you can ssy he's just a generic main character who does the thing and saves the thing. You could also argue he's an offensive steorotype. With Link people can argue he's not even a character and just an idea. He has no development and you never play as the same Link twice. He's the same generic "do the thing and save the thing" hero. With Sonic people can argue he's annoying and cocky and still doesn't have any character development. But you rarely see people hating on Kirby. As a character, he is supposed to be simple. He's just a ball with a face, and people accept that. But he's not completely 2 dimensional like say Mario and Link. And unlike characters like Sonic and Captain Falcon where they express most of their thoughts through words instead of action, Kirby doesn't speak. He is child like. And unlike other younger characters, this isn't the main focus. He doesn't cry for everything and he isn't overly obnoxious. Overall, Kirby is a very neutral character that has cute qualities and can't really be hated to a large extent

Also the moon exploded after Nightmare's demise, every game afterwards has the crescent moon instead of the full moon.
Except literally every game after SSU has a full round moon.
They did better than dbz which the moon has been destroyed time and time again but keeps coming back

tbh there are more than one moon orbiting Popstar, the biggest one is blue and can be seen on rtdl's title screen or even during the Sectonia boss fight (it seems pretty close to the planet...)
the permanent crescent one (AKA the one who got blew up/"pissed" on it) can also be seen from time to time on stages (and is also a bit further away from the planet)
not sure if Mr. Shine can be considered as a third moon tho

I believe that, in the earlier games, you could inhale Scarfies *during their death animations* and get Crash.

Also, I'm pretty sure the boss music for DeDeDe in Kirby's Adventure is just the normal boss music.

Kirby easily best gameplay on the console, and some of the most outstanding graphics too. Btw easy to understand since it's one of the last games of the NES
I had someone at a party once tell me she thought Kirby's Adventure was a Super NES game until I showed her that my SNES had A Link to the Past in it and was turned off.
I have played the NES game on Nintendo Switch online NES and GBA on my mobil.

If there's one thing I hated about Fright to the Finish, it's the stupid out of nowhere dues ex machina that is the Star Rod.

And that’s how a great gaming (review) series started with a bang!
I wasn't sure about the quality of Antdude at the start but actually watching it shows me that he's always been good at this.
I always laughed at the fact that my first Kirby game was the Remake of Adventure on the GBA, which I wanted because of 4Kids' dub of the Anime.
Also I love how 4kids made it canon that Meta Knight is Spanish xD

+Pete Detrick Once you get past the fact that it wasn't originally meant to be a Kirby game it's really quite fantastic. Another case of fans hating a game not because of lack of quality but because they merit games of want they want them to be.
The only Kirby game I dislike is amazing mirror

Kirby's Nightmare in Dream Land is my favorite Kirby game. Mostly due to nostalgia.

Kirby and I have a great history. My first game in the series was Amazing Mirror and I remember it fondly. For awhile, Kirby 64 (whom I loaned from my cousin) was my favorite, but now it's Return to Dream Land. Kirby's one of my favorite video game series and one of my favorite characters. Thanks, you adorable puff ball you!

Lololo and Lalala were based off of a game called Adventures of Lolo, I think that's what it's called, anyway. It's a block pushing puzzle game, which is what these bosses are based on.

Kirby’s Dreamland was the one of the first games I got with my Game Boy for Christmas ‘92. It took me so many years to actually beat it because I never knew you were suppose to inhale the stars that DeeDeeDee popped out. A great memory.
Overall, Amazing Review. The music, humor, and just everything else was just spot on. Keep up the Good work, Anthony. I'm rooting for you.

Just finished Kirby's Adventure, and man did I love it. As you said, music and art were incredible. It’s so creative and oddly beautiful. I love the simplicity but variety of the abilities. Awesome boss fights as well.
My favorite part: 10:34 because when you say all the kirby world's have a food name, for the rainbow resort you said: well i am going to name this world Rainbow cookies
I have Dream Collection, and when I played Extra Mode... I quit at Castle Lololo.
*EDIT:* Okay, I beat Kirby's Adventure. I had a hard time with King Dedede, though...

Nightmare in Dream Land was my first Kirby game, and it made me absolutely love the little guy. I was so excited when the Dream Collection came out, because it meant I could get all the previous games that I never had the chance to own. Too bad I'm not very good at those earlier games...
I never knew about that moon room in Stage 4! I only found the one earlier in the stage when you're in the cloud "labyrinth". As someone who first played Kirby on Gameboy, this makes me excited to learn about!

Kirby has had a massive impact on me too. Me and my brother got our first individual Game Boys at the Westport Plaza mall in St. Louis ages ago and the first two games we had were Super Mario Land and Kirby’s Dream Land. And then not much later, I saw the commercials for Kirby’s Adventure on TV. I never would have expected Kirby of all things to become the Nintendo juggernaut he is today.

Kirby's Adventure is basically the first game I ever beat (well either that or one of the Capcom NES Disney games) so this is pretty awesome.

I grew up with Kirby's Adventure on the NES, and jumped to beg my parents for Nightmare in Dreamland when it came out. That cartoon, with the jazzy opening (the dub, not the original) reignited my like of the character and games.
... And I've still yet to get any of the more recent games, which I would probably have FUN with. -_-"
