Well, Kirby didn't kill anyone canonically in this game except Dark Nebula. If anything dies, it's the player killing them, not Kirby

This is probably my favorite Kirby game. I liked how the bubble system worked and loved having to compete with the squeaks for treasure.

Squeak squad is my personal favorite. it's just fun to pick up and play. I think I liked the bubbles way to much though. I'd go in the ability room and grab 5 bubble copy abilities and just blast everyone with bubbles. kinda redundant.

I honestly love the hell put of this and magical mirror. Well they were both part of my childhood. I had so much fun with them both. Reminds me of a simpler time of the early 2000s.

Awesome video, dude. I loved Squeak Squad, so it was kinda cool just seeing someone talk about it. The Squeak Squad showing up whenever I grabbed a chest always seemed like such a tense moment for me, I dunno why. Also, thank you for the Mappy shout-out. One of my favorite arcade games.
Even if they are reused, I am a big fan of the Nightmare in Dreamland graphics style.

Sorry if someone's already pointed this out. I don't think it was either squeak or squad that was offensive in Europe. It's the abbreviation of SS, which I think had something to do with the Nazi party.

Abraxas apparently the word squad is offensive in Europe to. Suicide Squad got changed to suicide friends.
I'm fairly sure it was a joke. I know Americans like to sneer at Europe, but names of games get changed in different regions for all sorts of reasons. Most likely there's an obscure cartoon or toy called something similar to Squeak Squad so it was easier to change it. Or perhaps they just thought it would be harder for non-anglophones to pronounce.

The focus on elements and upgradable abilities were the coolest things from this game.. still one of my favorites

I can completely admit to the existence of this game’s many flaws, and can completely understand your opinion on it...
But Kirby Squeak Squad was one of the very first video games I *ever* played. I loved this game to death when I was a wee lad, and to this day, I simply can’t part with it. My copy of Squeak Squad is one of my most cherished of items, and though I can totally step back and see it for what it is, it just doesn’t make a difference to me. It’s my favorite Kirby game, bar none, simply for the fact that it means so much to me as an icon of my childhood.

I agree that if you break down the game in terms of (video game) aspects, then squeak squad definitely isn't the best kirby game. But the overal experience is just fantastic especially for a game out 2006.
It had cool/creative level designs, it had a lot of "customizable" features such as color,ability etc. The worlds looked cool and simple. Not to mention it has the best soundtracks in my opinnion (but thats subjective I guess). Pretty much every kirby fan has played this game who wasn't like born after 2005. And rarely did everyone find it a "boring" as long as it came to casual gaming experience, and I think thats what most kirby games try to offer. But yes nostalgia is also what makes us love this game.

Squeak Squad was my first kirby game and my 2nd favorite in the series form all the games I have played and I love it to bits!

The bubbling of abilities was my favorite part of the game.
This was my first Kirby game, and is still definitely my favorite.
My first and favorite Kirby game. I replayed it multiple times to 100%. Loved every bit of it
I remember playing a Kirby game like this on the DS way back when.
This is still honestly my favorite Kirby game, purely because of a mix of nostalgia and the fact i loved the level design, interactive world, and the stomach storage.
My personal theory as to why Squeak Squad's plot is so simple is that it takes place near the beginning of the Kirby timeline (which is probably a thing that exists only in my head) somewhere close after the original Dreamland/Spring Breeze. This also means that Revenge of Meta Knight also has to take place near the beginning of the timeline since MK's ship is at the bottom of the ocean in Squeak Squad which is where it crashed in RoMK.

That's technically not true. Dark Nebula is only a member of the Dark Matter race. In fact it's been revealed that while he is related to the Dark Matter race, his relationship with Zero is unknown.

i love this game. i used to play it with my cousins when i was very young. and when i bought it last year i 100% completed the game 3 times. it's one of my favorites in the series

Kirby Canvas Curse is a good game...It's certainly not an amazing game...but I like it more than Kirby's Dream Course or Kirby's Pinball Land.

I bought this game by mistake because I got the loose cartridge from a pawn shop. The label's really hard to read, and I thought it said Kirby Mass Attack :( I didn't even read the title screen so I played the first half hour wondering when the game was going to start with the multiple Kirbies. It never did, and I ended up playing the most generic Kirby game ever.

Squeak squad was one of my first DS games and the first kirby game I played. It was my absolutely favorite game back then

So much nostalgia. I love the Kirby series. All the games are full of bright colors, charm, fun music, and solid platforming. Just fantastic.
I just noticed that not only is the castle on the outside the same design as the anime, but the inside is too, with the monster summoning device right there as well.
"Squeak Squad" doesn't tell non-English speakers much about the game, while "Mouse Attack" does - most people know the word "mouse" (thanks to Mickey), and "attack" is a recognizable word, used in multiple languages across Europe. On the other hand, "squeak" wouldn't have meant much to me back when I'd barely started learning English. And as for why they changed "squad" - Mouse Attack rolls of the tongue better, I guess?
A lot of name changes are made to be more recognizable, more understandable, easier to pronounce for some, more memorable, and more indicative of the media's content.

Despite being my absolute least favourite Kirby game (that I have played, anyway), I'd say this game still gets a solid 6/10. Mostly from my dissapointment at how buggy Ghost is.
Though now that I think of it, what Kirby game is worse than this? They've ALL been consistently good. I honestly cannot think of a bad Kirby game.
Kirby Dream Course was my least favorite Kirby game, Super Star/Ultra is my top favorite.
I don't think Ghost ever was gonna work well, what with how much enemy AI it has to be able to handle.
TackyRackyComixNEO Ghost was an interesting idea, though I feel helpers are easier to handle then controlling every enemy in the game, excluding bosses and mini bosses, still an ability we might see again who knows, UFO got redone so it didn't have it limitation it had as well, both ability had there buggy points.
TackyRackyComixNEO Helpers in Kirby Super Star worked just fine, and they're basically the same thing - controlling an enemy unit.
***** Difference is, helpers didn't apply to basically every non-boss enemy in the game. There were only a very limited number of helpers in Super Star, and the way they functioned wasn't exactly the same as how their enemy AI functioned, but rather akin to basically being another Kirby who can't fly and has a permanent copy ability.
I know you think this is an "okay" game, but I think it is great! The sqeaks are cool, treasure collecting is enjoyable, and the bubble mechanics are great! I love being to keep items and stuff, and I can't wait for it to come back again. I was actually dissapointed when it didn't come back for tripple delux. Oh, well.

I remember getting this game for Christmas the year it came out. I also remember nearly 100%ing it day one and it being the first game I remember leaving the "Oh, this was way too short." feeling behind

It's supposedly the monster downloader machine from the Kirby TV show. It really doesn't have a purpose in this game though. Dedede's Castle is even the one from the show too.

My all time favorite Kirby game
I loved being able to unlock different Kirby colors. It was disappointing when I finally got a 3DS and picked up some Kirby games and only thing to collect were keychains and stickers.
