Easy Crispy Wings Weber Kettle Grill Vortex Accessory
Folks, there are a lot of wing recipes out there and they often make things complicated. This method makes it easy mode!
Get your wings ready!
Lightly sprinkle them with kosher salt, let sit in fridge anywhere from a couple of hours to overnight.
Get your grill ready!
Light a chimney of charcoal, dump into the vortex, close lid and let grill heat up.
Throw the wings on!
Put your wings in a ring in a big circle around the vortex.
Let them cook for 30 minutes.
Open the grill up and generously spray all the wings with I can't believe it's not butter.
Close up the grill and let them cook for about another 20 minutes or until skin is crispy and they probe at 165f at least
Remove from grill when done and toss or dip in your favorite sauce.

haha. yeah, I like to cook them naked and then toss in sauce afterwards... If I'm going to do a dry rub obviously ill put some rub on em lol.

I just used my vortex for the 1st time today and had the first grease fire ever in my weber kettle. I did bone in chicken thighs. Im not happy at all with the vortex. Will i have problems doing wings with it? Shud i avoid bone in thighs with the vortex?
Man so sorry to hear that about the grease fire! I've had some big grease fires while cooking with my kettle and the one thing I've noticed in common with all of them is that there is a build up of grime in the bottom of the grill. So I typically will just scrape all that gunk out after a few cooks. If your grill was spotless when you first started cooking those thighs it could have been fat dripping overload. Wings shouldn't have some much fat on them and should be a cleaner cook for sure. I would give the vortex another try! Chicken breasts, drumsticks, wings etc
