    The seat is a factory seat off an earlier model LS650 Savage.. They haven't changed a whole lot on these bikes. I got my single seat off of ebay and since it is factory (just for an older savage) it bolted right up to the factory mounting spots. The rear fender I got from Northern Tool. Just a trailer fender. I took my wheel and tire and found one that looked good with my setup. I then cut the fender up to my liking and made the mounts for it. Hope that helps!

    That is THE classiest bobber job I have ever seen, Great job !!!!! Most bobbers look terrible after they are bobbed. That bike looks like it could be in a Suzuki showroom!! What size is that back tire

  • @eisenhauer01
    @eisenhauer01  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes it is. It is thick-wall copper pipe I had laying around.

    heck yeah man awesome bike! I'm working on bobbing mine out right now as well. I've gotta make some hardtail struts like you did and mock up a fender. what did you mount your taillight to under your seat? did you put a small piece of metal just under it and bolt the light up to that?? and also how much did that fatter back tire cost you? thanks in advance man.

  • @eisenhauer01
    @eisenhauer01  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks, I think it turned out well myself. The back tire is one size wider than factory. I don't remember the size right now, I would have to look.

  • @trippflores4617
    @trippflores4617 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    did you paint the motor black yourself or did you get it powder coated? also what did you use for the hardtail struts>>??? thanks

  • @eisenhauer01
    @eisenhauer01  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am not sure what part you are talking about as far as the motor being painted.. The chrome covers that are all over the motor I painted myself with high temp flat black spray paint and it held up fine. The hardtail struts were just some channel steel that I had laying around. I threw it on the bridgeport and milled the "channels" off of each end so it was just flat for mounting, and drilled a hole in each end. Then painted them and put them on the bike as well. Thanks for asking!!

    The handlebars are the same diameter as stock, yes. The mirrors were some cheap mirrors off of ebay. I think they came from China. They come with hardware to mount them into the ID of whatever pipe you decide to use. They did not fit the ID very well, so I made some bushings up and press fit them into the end of the handlebars, then bored the bushing to the correct ID for a good fit for the mirrors. Look on ebay for "bobber mirrors" and you should be able to find them or something close!

    Where did you find the clamps and clamp bolts for the handle bars? Mine came with risers and im doing a handle bar swap to some zbars. I need 2 bolts to connect the bottom handle bar clamp pieces to the front forks but can't seem to find any that fit.

    • @eisenhauer01
      @eisenhauer01  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the factory risers for the handlebars. I believe they were aluminum. If you look at your factory ones, you will see they are pretty tall and have a curve to them. I cut mine off shorter, on the bottom side, milled the 2 surfaces flat and clean and made them both the same, and drilled/tapped a new hole in the bottom of the cylindrical parts for where the riser mounts to the bike. This was in effort to lower the handelbars closer to the triple tree since the factory riser was so high. Hope this answers your question. If not, ask away bud.

    not too many people use white paints on a bike anymore... always flat black or some other ugly color... bike looks great man!

    Great job, except for turning it into a hardtail. I'll never understand why anyone would eliminate the suspension on a motorbike.

    What is the size of wheel for the trailer wheel well replacement did you get the rear wheel well. I am looking at Northern Tool and they have a few options. I love how it looks on your and I want to go for the same look on mine. Also what did you use as the bars to mount it. They look familiar but I cant figure out where to get them. Any advice would be great this is a budget build so I am trying to make it look good while spending little money and doing as much as possible myself. What can I use for the handlebars I that I can get at Home Depot or like that or a metal shop if i can find one locally. I love what you did on your bike you gave me inspiration to build mine! I am a cancer patient at 25 and I used to work on car and can no longer do that but bike is so easy i am able to work on it a day at a time. So THANK YOU!

      Also what paint did you use?

    • @eisenhauer01
      @eisenhauer01  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      i dont remember what size the wheel well was, but i did get it at northern. as far as the fender supports, i just had some pieces of curved channel, i flattened the ends to be able to mount them to the bike and fender. the big pieces of channel you see running from the swing arm towards the front and up replaced the shocks. so it has no suspension in the rear. it was not the most comfortable ride but it looked pretty cool. just have to measure and start cutting and making stuff bud. i used a piece of thick walled copper pipe for the handlebars that i had laying around, it just so happened to be the right diameter so it was the same as the factory size so all the controls and mounts all worked with it.

    Since it's a hard tail, I'm surprised you didn't make those struts a couple inches shorter, to put the rear fender directly beneath the seat?
    Also, why put "Cafe Racer" in the title? Better to just call something what it is, rather than try to pull other people in to view something they might not like. Nice bobber though man, congrats!
