  • I do a first time manual transmission conversion on a 2009 Nissan 370Z. Parts list will be provided once the build is complete. Please comment below if you think there is anything that I missed so I can follow up on the next videos. Thanks!

    Hello master. I also wanted to mtswap the 370z, so I bought a lot. How did you deal with the ecu harness?

    I know the manual thing is raw, but I've seen some auto Z's run circles around the manuals on the track.

      I agree, but this car isn’t built for competition, just fun🤘🏼

    I’m having trouble take the pilot converter bearing out. Those teeth grab on the tool but don’t get it out!

    • @txboostlife
      @txboostlife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heat around the bearing. Make sure the tool is pulling out and not just opening more when turning it

      @@txboostlife i couldn’t get it to come out! I was so close to just giving up. But craziest thing. I decide to try the old grease trick. Filled it with heavy duty grease. Then sealed it and hammered it in. Until it popped right out!!!

      I'm confused are you pulling this bearing out of the auto engine, to them fit the manual trans?

    Hey, do you know if g37 headers will fit on an m37? I'm trying to get some installed but the mechanic wasn't sure if they would fit even though it's the same engine as the g37/370z

    Any idea if newer Q60 [3.0 TT] 7-speed auto trans (supposedly a bit stronger than older gen even though same model) is a good option who does not want to swap to manual?

    cant wait for your parts vid. I purchased a 370z manual to replace my auto
    and tbh i wanna keep my auto and do another manual conversion to drift.
    thank you so much for making these videos.

    Thank you for posting this video! Im having a manual transmission installed in my 2012 G37S convertible. I'm not changing the BCM since I have a Vert, I have a question in regards to the ECM, it's my understanding that I'll need to access the ECM with a VCM editor and change the transmission type parameter from auto to manual. Is this correct? I'm almost positive the ECM will not allow the engine to crank until this change has been made? Can you advise???

      I’ll be addressing that in my next vid “part 3”. I’ll be finding out any potential issues with swapping BCMs very soon and documenting along the way.

      @@txboostlife Since my chassis is a HV36 (convertible) BCM swap isn't an option, since I'd be giving up my roof functionality. My question actually was in regards to the Q50 6MT swap you performed. In a portion of that video you were having remote tuning support on your ECM, right? You couldn't get the ignition working, was it a transmission type parameter that you had to assess?

    Question do you think the 9 speed trans will be better

    • @txboostlife
      @txboostlife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Better question: is a 9 speed swap worth the trouble? I say it depends on what you want the car to do and what it’s powerband is. The JK40/CD009 is a strong trans from the factory and gearing is not bad for street use, it’s fun to drive too. The newer automatics are much quicker in shifting and with shorter gears you’re sure to stay in your powerband which is useful if you have a shorter curve. For this N/A VQ37VHR it’s not worth the trouble in my opinion in its current state. Hope that helps!

    • @thatguy8655
      @thatguy8655 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TxBoostLife it may be more expensive but it’s a way around go find a wreck vehicle with the trans and go from there. On the other hand the new z most likely to come with the new trans
