Anyone else think old BMW's have aged unbelievably well? Not something I'm sure we'll be able to say about the current lineup... Love the spec on this one Tyler, looks awesome!
They absolutely do. Drove a 330i E46 a while ago. What a beast. I cornered with one hand as fast as i did in a Cooper S pushing it really hard. Interior is beautiful and well made. All downhill after the E39/E46 for BMW.
They do. The E46 330ci with the ZHP package or an M3 from that time are my favorite. Also, the E30 3 Series done up always looks great and that car is from the 80s.

Welcome to owning a BMW...... You don't own it, you just borrow it from your mechanic for each drive. After each drive you find a new fluid on the ground.
It would be incredible to live in an area where you have such great options for mechanics for specific brands of cars like you have in Kansas. I have only 4 cars but I have to shop around and take risks with different shops that end up making my cars worse in ways that were not problems before.
I used to have a great mechanic for almost a decade then he lost his helper and had some personal issues and his quality fucking tanked. He had my car for two weeks to do an oil change, some suspension work and to replace the rack and pinion after it got damaged hitting a possum and I got the car back with an airbag light on. He told me to take it to a dealer cause he doesn't mess with airbags and the dealer said they think he broke it because some mechanics will take the steering wheel off to do an alignment after replacing the rack because it's easier. Of course he denies doing this and refused to pay to get it fixed. It was a 2005 Camry with 140k miles and I had already spent $2k with him and would have had to spend another $700 to fix the airbag I just decided to cut my losses and trade it in because there were some other issues starting to creep up with age on the car. Now I have a 2017 Camry that I bought in March that was still being listed as a certified used car and I just take it to the dealer since it's under warranty.
Very much agree. I have switched from decades of German cars back to slightly vintage Japanese ones, and while they are much much better cars they still need mechanics occasionally. I haven’t totally found one single “go-to” shop yet; some are better at one type of work than another. Finally found one that’s pretty damn good all-around though, and I tip the mechanic generously because I’m not sure the owner takes all that great care of him. Helps me get to the top of the pile, and besides, even with the tip and using OEM parts it’s farrrrrr less expensive than German cars

The last great BMW. A solid final performance after decades of brilliance. From the 2002, e9, the legendary e24/e28/e30s of the eighties, and on to the the understated e34, absolutely pure e36, and stunning e38...the e39 M5 really managed to be the culmination of decades of absolute masterpieces for BMW. The perfect ending to the analogue car. Everything that’s come after has been bloated and nanny’d and full of tech and distractions. The e39 M5 is easily one of the greatest cars ever built. The e46 sucks, don’t @ me.
@@startingtech3900 listen bro, you either understand or you don’t. The e46 M3, while an incredibly capable car, is not the same class as it’s predecessors. Im not saying that bmw hasn’t built an impressive car after the e39 m5, but that they haven’t built one with “the magic”. It’s not about being stuck in the 80s. It’s not about accepting modernity. It is about recognizing that times change, and that the e39 M5 was the capstone to the end of an era. And era where they were not only at the top of their game, but at the top of *the* game. Turner Motorsport has an upgrade to retrofit the newer style headlights to the 5-series. Should only cost about $600 but it's been years so I don't know if the price has been adjusted. I have two M5's and I've done the upgrade on them both it makes the difference. I also recommend 8000k bright white low-level blue lights for the bulbs. You can see farther and it's a nice clean look. Same for the fog lights. They also have a kit for the LED the facelifted tail lights.
Here's the crazy thing John. NOS is the reason you're tired and have headaches! You're medicating with the very thing that's making you sick! Cut it out and you'll feel like absolute garbage for about 2 weeks but you need to ween yourself off that junk.
Le Mans blue is beautiful and I suspect will look even better with detailing. The car that epitomizes "the ultimate driving machine" from an era when BMW focused more on performance rather than technologically showing off.
I've always wanted to be rich enough to afford a BMW with no warranty, but I'll have to settle for my current Mazda that cost less than what Tyler usually pays to fix a BMW.
I drive a 1996 528i for 5 years now and against all odds it has been really good.. some regular stuff like wheel bearings, colling system parts e.g. but nothing major. Enjoy driving it everytime still.. so it's staying untill further notice 😎
Or u gotta learn how to DIY and wrench on some stuff yourself. Most of them aren't nearly as unreliable as the internet would have you believe Especially if they're driven often and not sitting all the time.. sitting is how the cheap gaskets will get eaten through

I have two M5's and I've done the upgrade on them both it makes the difference. I also recommend 8000k bright white low-level blue lights for the bulbs. You can see farther and it's a nice clean look. Same for the fog lights. They also have a kit for the LED the facelifted tail lights.
I'm still in awe of the Car Ninja from when he pulled that engine so fast. My head is still spinning. He's so cool.
Personally, I prefer girls
@@TheAussieRod Ahh, but I haven't met a girl who could pull a car engine in under an hour. If I did, I'd marry her.
Z8 what a timeless design. IMO the prettiest bmw ever.
Glad to see you back!
Here's the crazy thing John. NOS is the reason you're tired and have headaches! You're medicating with the very thing that's making you sick! Cut it out and you'll feel like absolute garbage for about 2 weeks but you need to ween yourself off that junk.
This is definitely a BMW I want. Nice one hoovie.
Damn I guess I do have singles in my area
Glad you are back.
The wheels on the Z8 are really sharp. I have considered them for my 3 series, but may be a bit too flashy.
What a beautiful Bimmer. Well bought Hoovie!
The BMW Z8 looks great. Someone should put a similar body style on a new chassis.
Got to luv the hanger👍 Dirk Pitt’s pad made real😎 The M5 looks great.
Buying the same BMW TWICE? No one ever heard of anything so silly. HOOVIE this is a new low
Le Mans blue is beautiful and I suspect will look even better with detailing.
The car that epitomizes "the ultimate driving machine" from an era when BMW focused more on performance rather than technologically showing off.
I've always wanted to be rich enough to afford a BMW with no warranty, but I'll have to settle for my current Mazda that cost less than what Tyler usually pays to fix a BMW.
hahaha never own a BMW without warranty I agree, and also have a Mazda and a toyota.
I drive a 1996 528i for 5 years now and against all odds it has been really good.. some regular stuff like wheel bearings, colling system parts e.g. but nothing major. Enjoy driving it everytime still.. so it's staying untill further notice 😎
Same lol, cheap 09 Mazda 3
Amen, brother! My NC brings the perma-grin every time!
Or u gotta learn how to DIY and wrench on some stuff yourself. Most of them aren't nearly as unreliable as the internet would have you believe
Especially if they're driven often and not sitting all the time.. sitting is how the cheap gaskets will get eaten through
BMW E39 best car. You cannot change my mind.
Looks like Tyler went back in Hoovie-mode... *again* 😂
@MUSI⭕️ welcome spammers
Just report them, please. Thanks.
@@vincedibona4687 already did, nothing is ever done about it. There are supposed to be safeguards in place to prevent this but evidently not, but you can't say anything wrong.
Well you bought back the right one.. My dream car. An E39 m5 ☝😳
Always happy when a new video is out :)
I have a Z4 and that Z8 is definitely another dream car of mine. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you.
Man, I was starting to get worried. I hadn't seen a video in a few days lol. Great car.
The BMW videos with The Car Ninja are my favorite. That's a nice M5!
the parking brake thing was so funny 😭🤣
the z8 looks amazing
Love the way the steering wheel looks like the wheels. Very cool car.
PS reservoir/lines and valve cover gaskets... standard fair on every e39 M5
