Also People who traveled to Ceylon or Srilanka for business and trade considered Dhanushkodi as a major hub and since Srilanka was just 25 km away from Dhanushkodi, reaching Dhanushkodi in Boat Mail Express or Indo ceylon express was easy for them.Tamil Nadu Government announced Dhanushkodi as a ghost village as a result of lack of facilities there and because of the troubles people had to face there. Also many rumours and ghost stories are also roaming in the air of Dhanushkodi.Dhanuskodi is the meeting place of Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal and Arichal Munai, the meeting point is a tip of India. Dhanushkodi town now has about more than 500 families and majority of them are fisherman.Their life is closely connected to Ocean and many of their relatives and friends migrated to Rameshwaram mainly because of the practical difficulties to live there and also because of fear.Dhanushkodi is very sensitive and is prone to any sudden changes.1964 Cyclone was also such as disaster that originated in Andaman and after affecting the islands of Srilanka, taken away almost near 3000 lives.Dhanuskodi is thus a village of lamentation too and is still not survived. This is the fourth episode in Rameshwaram Dhanushkodi Series in our channel Journeys of Jo by Rijo John.

In Pamban bridge Souther side Gulf of Mannar and northern side Palk Straight. In Arichamunai we can see Gulf of Mannar, Palk Straight and Bay of Bengal.
