These rangers and bronco 2's should've came from the factory with V8 302 in them. My 1990 ranger had the 4 banger in it. You wanna pass someone ya better pack a lunch because it'll be a while before ya get around em and that was with the accelerator to the floor. Just an underpowered dog.

People V8 swap 4 cylinder Rangers a lot where I live; primarily using 5.0’s or the old Chevy 350’s. They have swap kits that make the swap a hell of a lot easier because it gives you most if not all of what you need.
Sounds horrible. Bad timing, vaccum leaks, carburetor not tuned, headers leaking, not impressed...I guess some people do not really no the difference between Badazz and junk...

I had a 86 I swapped a V8 into back in the late 90's when not many people had done the swap and conversion parts where not around

sounds like a lean stumble or condition. what kind of carb are you running? if its efi then its too much cam for the computer.

Sounds like a cold blooded holly possibly needing adjustment and or your timing may be off a bit .
