Looks like a mini lightning....I love it !!!
Very nice sounding V8 Ranger. Truck looks good indeed. I'm thinking of picking up a early to mid 80's ranger to do a carberated 302 swap. Thanks for the Nice video.
thanks for watching
That trusty rusty chevy is awesome!
Nice, luckily in MD you can get hot rod tags if you do and engine swap
Thanks man. Yeah I am in Northern Ohio near Sandusky. I hope to pull this truck back out next summer and have a little fun with it.
I got a 95. Love it. Ranger girl now 100%
what a kick ass truck, love them racing seats , too bad about all that trouble you had to go thru with dmv.
Hey this pickup is nice man, nothing beats the sound of a V8
On some of the older cars the gauges stay at the same position when it was last run. If you start watching the video at 2:33 you can watch the temp gauge go back down to cold when the key is turned on and I start it up. It stays on Cold.
This thing is amazing. I would love to daily it!
Thanks, yeah I hope to get it to the point of a daily driver too. Needs work tho.
@MusiikN0w Thanks man! I appreciate the comments on the truck and for watching my videos. The colors are all going away. It won't be a clown truck when I am done with it.
The redhead stepchild of your collection.I got a little soft spot for some ford v8 😉
Man that Ford sounds great..Sounds like an old Mustang
...
@riggs1991 It took a little more than a fuel pump to get it going. Had to pull the bed, drop the tank, flush the lines and replace the fuel filter. No it didn't cost a lot but it was time consuming. Thanks for watching!
You can still get the hood at Summit Racing I believe. I recently looked and they are still available. The rear is just a Ranger roll pan. Thanks for the comments. Love the Rangers. Enjoy your build.
@brian5o Thanks! I love this thing too. Def gone put it back to original inside with a few Explorer upgrades. Also gone put a different shifter in it because your right, it is a little low. Thanks for subscribing.
beautiful truck man!!!! just wish mine had one too!!!
ok, e brake is on the floor in a truck so unless it has been taken out there is one. id kill to have one of these, and its a nice project. "poor old chevy" as you said lmao. keep them doin dirty work and keep this ford on the road
Nice truck - thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
ahhhh wish they would have carbed it out. someday someone will build a good cammed up motor out of that block. i had nothing but issues with the efi system. went carb with cam heads and flat top pistons. jized my pants. was a sweet build looks nice. needs a little tlc here and there but its pretty awesome. minus the blue.
I love the idea of V8 rangers and S10/blazers. Theyre pretty beastly.
Looks like a fun toy that would have no problem roasting tires!
Planning on a 5.0 swap into my '97 Ranger eventually. I might just stick with the 2.3 and turbo it, though.
Also notice that you live in my area!
amazing! Ranger is the best little truck !
looks good and souind good! nice truck man
Thanks man. I plan on posting more videos of this truck so make sure to subscribe if you haven't already. Thanks for posting.
i noticed it full in this one.. nice ride
man im not going to even lie, those rims look like they fit the truck perfect, and i love it. Idk about the seats tho. BUT, that truck is pretty sweet. :) nice video.
You're lying.
okay, i was gonna say i could have open headers and i wouldnt have a problem registering a car, love the ranger man, wish i had one lol
that thing sounds awesome
@MalakianMan Well I didn't build the truck and it is put away in storage for the winter so I can't get under it and look but from what I remember it has a Dynomax muffler on it. Headers with duals that go into one Dynomax muffer and one tailpipe that dumps just before the passenger rear wheels. Look at the other videos of the truck where I have the bed off of it. You can get a better look.
Sounds good! my 3.0 kicks ass...... but a 5.0? Oh Hell Yeah!
Sweet little ride
Thanks
Its been sitting in a friends garage for some time. I hope to get it out this summer.
just got a 1995 ford ranger, regular cab,7ft bed,2wd,2.3l.And ready to get my ford 1991 mercury cougar 5.0ho in it.Going to make it look like this one.
thank god you going to put away that blue color out of the truck good thinking because its red truck nice truck man
I think I've seen it for sale recently...wish I could pick it up (if it's not this one, it's still a badass Ranger!).
I believe it is out of a fox body but has the explorer intake on it. The fuel injection is nice on it. It needs a little TLC but its a fun truck.
It was converted to a 5.0 Mustang harness. I don't recall which OBD system it has but it has the gray plug under the hood near the brake booster. It would not pass the inspection here so I had to register it as a Collector Vehicle and it does not need an inspection anymore.
Love ford rangers so much that this is my 3rd ranger
where do you live that you have all these plate problems and sending them pics wtf never heard of that
Like it. Building one myself. I actually like those seats.
I swapped out the seats for originals from an Explorer.
Classic G-Body Garage Bet it looks awesome! Do another video, I subscribed and cant wait to see more.
Thanks for subbing. I need to get working on it again. It's been sitting a few years now.
All vehicles have e-brakes.. I'm sure what he meant by no e-brake is it doesn't work..
Anyways sounds awesome man! I have an old 96' Ford Ranger with a 2.3L inline 4 and it's gettin up there in km's to the point where I'm not sure how much longer she'll last in these cold winters and hot summers so I've been contemplating a swap for a V8.. we'll see how much it'll cost haha
I really love your truck! It looks and sounds very nice.
I cannot wait to see what the interior looks like one you replace the carpet and trim inside.
Have you thought about going back to the original Ranger shifter? The Mustang shifter looks like it would be tough to use because of it being so low.
Its a fun truck!
That thing is fucking badass, can’t stand that the previous owner did to the interior with the blue crap though. I actually think the black carpet looks good too. Needed a tachometer though.
Thank you.
@@ClassicGBodyGarage You’re welcome, would’ve loved to see some of the work you did to it though.
I guess it all depends on your know how and budget. A Supercharged Thunderbird V6 will be hard to come by. A 302 and 350 will fit the same since they are the same size physically or you can turbo a V6. I like the 302 though. A ton of aftermarket bolt-ons available.
Sweet truck
with a awesome sound like that not like you need one. (or ever for anything).
Thats good to know! Thanks
Nice bro. You don't see meny danger rangers with a V8
It was a 4 cylinder 5 speed originally. Base model truck with no tach.
Any vehicle in Ohio 97 and newer is required to take the emissions test using the OBD plug under the dash with check engine light functional. Since this truck now has an early version of an OBD system it would automatically fail. The original ECM is no longer used and the check engine light does not work. I had to apply for special plates to get around the emissions test.
Its all good man!
I will make a video of my 95 ranger. I used power seats out of a 99 ford explorer (dark gray) with the center consol that goes all the way to the dash with a home made boot for the 5speed shifter. Would like to get your thought on it.
@olds7980 thanks.i had a red 92 ranger that i was doing the same thing by adding complete mustang and was almost done before it got stollen
Nice truck! I'll do an even trade with my 96 lumina lol!
Thanks man!
first off: Very Nice truck. ive got an '86 xlt im converting with a '92 5.0 HO. planning to put a roots charger on it and airbags to the ground. im wondering if anyone knows if i can use dropped I-Beams or do i need to change to independent?
nice truck i like it
@stangkilla1 look at the gauge in the left cluster to the right, it's the temp and it is cold, you're watching the oil/voltage gauges. Love the truck, looks sharp, I have a 91 ranger I have a 2.3t out of a turbo coupe to put in it, should be loads of fun. I have yet to understand why people put stupid looking colors like that in their interior when it far from matches
No, still gathering parts. Need to find stock gray seat belts that are in nice shape. Having a hard time.
Hi I have a 2004 ford ranger with manual transmission v6 3.0 and I want to put a v8 with manual transmission too. What should be my best option? I would like to put a mustang I love that sound and what should be my budget? Thank you.
Mines a 93 2.3 four cylinder five hundred thousand miles. Still burns tires off doesn't burn any oil. Have wait on a 5.0 swap.
omg i would love to have that mustang engine in my truck, omg
nice. im working on my 96 ford ranger
Is it carb or EFI?
I like your truck. How much has been the total investment at this point?
would love to have this truck
+KingReaperFTW will be for sale this spring so SUBSCRIBE and check back please. Thanks for watching.
+Classic G-Body Garage for sale yet?
The 5.0 is nice in there but the 4.0's are great too.
"Land of the Free" 😆👌🏼
That hood looks like the hood on my '72 Maverick Grabber..
might buy a 86 need to find ideas
@riggs1991 With the plates I got for it I don't have to worry about them any more either.
4 cyl factory usually didnt have a tach, and the e-brake is clearly on the floor in a truck 1:05
how much of a drop does it have?
If I do it won't be until next summer. There is still some work I want to do on it.
Specs on truck? Is it hard to run electrical for gauges to work with EFI? Trans mount for the t5 trans?? Email me if you could
Very nice, where'd you get the hood and bumper from? I might be interested in doing a 302 ranger as a project, maybe with a stroker to 347.
i like those wheels
What type of wheels is on that ranger I'm looking to get a set of wheels for my 2002 ranger so what do you recommend?
me too and it's the slowest thing I've ever had. good mileage and deacent apearance though. mine is in need of a 5L upgrade... envyous.
The factory 5 speed or most any aftermarket trans should work. Tremec TKO or Rickmond.
Sounds good..
I absolutely love this truck... I have a 1995 Ranger that i have sitting on blocks i broke down and put an LS engine in it. It was a cheap engine and came to me at the right time. Also has a tranny and the rear end from the chevy truck also. Looking to have it running in the next few months. But your truck is so much better with all ford products!! I bow down to you...
@84400 Yes it was and everything will be changed back.
Hey man i have a 99 ranger xlt i plan to put a 5.0 in it i have the 5.0 motor and the truck and i am looking for a t56 out of a mustang to fit it too it had the 3.0 motor in it i was wondering what you had to do to get the mounts fitted and the trans and such and if you can do it to a 4wd
Its an early 90s Tremec 5 speed out of a Mustang.
FYI that shifter is indeed from a Mustang.
Thanks!
@outoftime32348 Very cool! I would love to see it cuz I am wanting to put a different center console in mine and fix that junk shifter boot that I have now. Want to redo the interior.
hey man, still love your ranger, ive watched this vid a few months ago, i got some engine ideas, i cant decide between the 5.0L 302 v8, thunderbird turbo, chevy 351 windsor, or a v6 and have it blown
was the gas guage problem the ground not being hooked up in the fuel pump video..
No but would like to add a factory gauge cluster that does.
from what year car or truck did you get the engine any idea?the last owner didnt tell you?is it running strong or just sounds strong?because i have driven a few 80s mustangs and they sound better than they run, they r not really strong or fast.is this truck fast?
what kind exhaust does it have?
I like it!
if it was truly a cold start why then did the water temp read normal operating temp?
What size tires you got on there and what kind of rims
@TheGreatBooger maybe eventually but not right now.
What's the exhaust setup you have on it?
They are Torque Thrusts
