v8 swap ranger

  • some burnouts and a few pics along the build. this was a 2.3 2wd 5 speed ranger I swapped with a stock is 302 with a wore out c4 then I went to a 400hp blueprint crate engine had the dead c4 behind it for a while then went to a Freddy brown aod. this is just some of the pics and videos I have left in ny phone.

      One set was from a explorer the race buckets were aftermarket

      lol I sold it a couple years ago. I kept the crate engine and sold it with a stock 302 for 3k .

    That is a weapon! We are building a Daily Driven Landspeed 93 Ford Ranger on our channel. Sticking with the 3.0l V6 for now though. Love the chop on that Blueprint 306!

    Don't blow a head gasket trying to do doughnuts now. BTW you're doing it wrong. You need to power break while hitting the throttle after you throw the rear, in the direction you want.

    I want to go old school with my 2000 2wd Ranger and do the 302/carb swap - my question is what do I do with all of the computer wiring to the original 3.0 and I still need everything to still work in the truck (fuel pump, lights, radio, ignition, gauges ect)

      I wired around all the efi stuff didn't hook up what I didn't need. Then went back and chased all the wires back to the plug on the pcm and pulled the unused ones. As far as gauges I made an aftermarket cluster with analog gauges

    Awesome truck! How much did it All cost (ball park idea) to get it all finished? This truck badder than an SVT Lightning pound for pound IMHO as a Ford fan. Kudos to your team who made this dream become a reality 👌🏅

    That's awesome, what kinda seats are those?!? I Wana put new heated and cooled seats in mine real bad. I found a guy that's got Lincoln seats for 350 for 2 beige seats... I don like the color but I want the comfort and leather and heat and cooling action.

    When you purchased your blueprint crate engine did you have any problems getting it I tried to purchase one to do my swap in a 97 Ranger they tell me it would not work

      the swap kit was like 700. and there was probably another 300 in random stuff to make it work . depending what motor you go with and all that will determine what it really cost you lol

      @@VirussCx if you want to do a 5.0 automatic this is what I've heard, the stock ranger 8.8 rear end will work. Get a 5.0 and all the wiring from a ford explorer with a 5.0, the ford explorer engine mounts, I've heard explorer transmissions work, and maybe a custom driveshaft.

      I cut the gauges out and used the back piece of the cluster to bolt it in. I got some thin plastic sheet and screwed that to my backer for the cluster. then I cut the holes where I wanted the gauges and popped them in. I'll have to look for the pics

      Then one night I got high cut the exhaust off and ran straight 3 inch stainless steel out behind the bed and stacked it it was loud 🔊🔊 then my stepdad and I cut the springs in the back and front I was going to do a 4 12 inches blow Tru but it got stolen strip out o well my mom got paid well

      lol I wish I came from money and made six figures lol the first time I did the swap I had 2k in the whole truck. helps buying used parts and being able to do all the work your self. after the 306 I had about 6500 in the whole thing. selling the old parts really helps speed it up. gotta want it to make it happen

      @@aydawg18 oh wow ok cool. Yeah I got the 3/4 I-beam drop a few weeks ago, but the truck needs to be dropped one more inch in the front and I have no idea how to do that. They don’t make 1” drop springs for the ranger. They have 2” drop springs, but that might be too much.

      @ZYXWVUQ992Q pull the coils out and cut exactly 1 right off. Straight down from where it ends right now. Go 1/2 of one at first maybe and see how it sits.
