P.S. I am well aware that James Franco's version of the Goblin is actually referred to as "The New Goblin," but I like the ring to "Green Goblin vs Green Goblin" better than "New Goblin vs Green Goblin."

In Raimi verse only two people have survived a goblin grenade to their face.

@WinningZyro His mask is literally just fabric. I doubt it offered him any protection at all. As for his healing factor yeah that could definitely explain why he shows no scars from it
@WinningZyro You severely overestimate how much protection a layer of cloth with provide. If it was made from special fibers that could withstand powerful forces you’d be right but Peter would have no way of acquiring that due to his low income status and it’s never mentioned so we can only assume it was made from a cheap and common fabric.
@WinningZyro It is a _thin_ layer of cloth. It won’t protect him from anything. You really believe something like that would offer any meaningful protection against a grenade that can vaporize people?
@WinningZyro The damage mitigated by Peter’s mask is negligible. It offers next to nothing in terms of protection so whether or not Peter had it on at the time doesn’t matter since the end effect would practically be the same. It’s not a piece of armor that shields Peter from harm, it’s just a piece of cloth meant to protect his identity. You may have a point about Peter’s healing factor playing a role in why he has no scar.

This was one of the most one sided battles i've seen. And good for me too since i think Franco's Goblin is just far cooler. He's in control of who he is, looks badass with that mask and goggles which also look practical, has a literal flying skateboard with cool green lighting on fans! How cool is that? That's my childhood dream right there! And just has so much physical prowess.

Now that I have grown up, I have some new-found appreciation for James Franco's New Goblin. The guy's suit was awesome, he had great skill, and he could take a beating. I do wish he would've used the silver Goblin helmet shown at least once but now that I think about it, I think that's the Hobgoblin's helmet. Would've been awesome to see the Hobgoblin in Spider-Man 4 or 5 if they ever happened.

Is it just me, or did franco's harry also fix the goblin formula? He didn't go insane at all, and all the anger he had, he had before he even knew about the green goblins equipment. He even became a good guy while still having the effects of the goblin formula.

I like this video, but I feel like it isn't very fair to pit these 2 goblins against each other. Because Franco's goblin had a lot more screen time and development then DeHaan's. I think it would've been better to put Franco's up against Dafoe's.

I think Franco would win because of advanced gadgets and manuverability with his board. In the first fight we see DeFoe unable to fly straight up where as Franco can do flips, spins and barrel rolls and still stay on his board.

I think Norman would win, their stats I think us about equal, but Norman is driven by insanity, Harry is driven by hatred and vengeance.
But he loved his father, so his motivation would be directly impaired in the fight. But I don't think Norman had much love for his son even before he went insane.

The reason why tasm2 green goblin knew that the suit could heal you is because in a deleted scene he was shown the suit in his office and then he told Peter he was dying. Just so you know :)

Actually, in that case it would've been Amazing Spiderman 2's goblin that would've been the HobGoblin. Relying mostly on his gandets, while Green Goblin also has super strength and agility. Green Goblin is the son of Green Goblin, who appeared after Hobgoblin.

Uh. Franco's Green Goblin lost the first fight with Peter soundly. Peter nearly killed him and he wasn't even trying and was caught by surprise.
In their second fight Peter put Harry away with ease. It was almost sad how soundly Peter thrashed Harry in that second one.
Well peter in the first fight was actually loosing and only won by outsmarting him . Also it was a miracle Francos goblin wasn't decapitated by peters web
Yeah but regular Peter could still stomp against Harry ,but he had the symbiote at that moment ,made it more than superior to harry hahah ,i feel ike the film having an extra hour could have helped the film ,most of the issues in SM3 are about whats NOT in it ,rather than what is in it ,which is pretty cool!
1st fight is just Peter outsmarting Harry, that's not a showcase of pure strength, just wits, just taking advantage of the terrain and Harry's inexperience, 2nd fight is the best metric as it's Spiderman enhanced with Symbiote power and is not holding back his punches going mano o mano against Harry.

That being said, wouldn’t James’ Goblin be considered The HobGoblin since in the Raimi universe there was already a Green Goblin? (I think Raimi’s Green Goblin would best Webb’s Goblin as well.) I know Franco’s is referred to “New Goblin” but aside from that I always figured he was The HobGoblin since there was already a Green Goblin and in other comics, etc; Harry became The HobGoblin anyway which is why he appeared as the “New Goblin” in Spider-Man 3.
Marc Webb’s universe I get they didn’t have a Green Goblin so Dehaan’s would fit that bill in that universe.

Which is why Tom Holland is the best. He's portraying Marvel's original character, not some version that Sony created. Holland's Peter Parker is the right age, his intellect has been shown better, and he doesn't have organic webbing. Not to mention the Iron Spider is awesome.
