I hated Hardy’s Bane voice at first but it’s kind of grown on me.
The way it doesn’t match his appearance fits his character; he’s physically a brute, but inside of all that he’s calculating and intelligent. He’s quiet and softspoken because he doesn’t need to be loud to intimidate people. He’s casual to the point of almost being amused when he’s talking about doing terrible things, but not so much that he sounds like a maniac like Joker or Riddler.
Hardy’s Bane gave us a reserved, calculating malice inside the body of a brute. To me, the fact that Bane does everything he does and manages to intimidate many of the characters he shares the screen with without having the big-monster/Hulk filter on his voice, just makes his character more intimidating. Hardy’s Bane wouldn’t fit in a more comic-bookish movie, but I think it works great in the semi-realistic Nolan universe.

Realism or atleast the possibility of realism was the first priority for Nolan that's why Bane is a calculated Strategist and Joker is a war veteran with PTSD
I like Hardy's voice for bane. I thought it was ridiculous at first but now I find myself do impressions just for the fun of it. It has grown on me quite a bit.
Bane attacking batman in that adrenaline rush is like when you finally push your brother over the edge.
Bane was originally smarter than Batman, from what I remember. He was fluent in 6 or 8 languages, learned Latin so that he could understand a single document (that he already memorized and held in his photographic memory beforehand). He was a beast mentally.
Tbh, Hardy deserves even more points for being an absolute badass

@@jordanrial166 Well, anything will look lame next to Heath Ledger's Joker. But I think that Tom Hardy's portrayal of Bane was a really good take on a character that was previously a joke. He made Bane serious and intimidating.

Hardy’s Bane was fantastic. Voice and all, it’s no comparison as to which character was played better, it’s Hardy’s by a country mile
You do realize that Tom Hardy's Bane did break Batman's Back right? To actually do that is equivalent to a high speed car crash which would take more then 3000 newtons of force, which is over 674.43 pounds of force which is the conversion of just a base 3000 Newtons.
To be fair he wasn't exerting all that force all together. He swung batman down (using his arms) and brought his knee up (using his legs), and gravity probably helped a little. Yeah, it's still really impressive, but has as much to go with physics and the movements you make as it does strength.
