I think Willem Dafoe is my fav overall But Design wise Honestly something about the Spectacular Spider-man design being updated yet so simplistic makes it my fav!
Spectacular's Goblin had the added bonus that even with everyone expecting the reveal, the show kept us guessing for 2 seasons whether Norman is really the Goblin, as we had Harry, his wife and even his butler on the list of suspects, and he used Chameleon to ensure he would appear at the same time as Goblin meaning he had an alibi.
I wondered if his wife actually knew where she was. Every time she appeared she ignored everything except her food. I genuinely thought she was either a hologram or on drugs.
Spectacular's Goblin also is only version truly faithful to the comics. Like in comics he is fully aware of being Goblin. He is evil and corrupt businessman who considers his son weak. In most versions Norman is tragic character but in comics he is not. He was evil even before becoming Goblin. I liked The animated series(1994 - 1998)Goblin as well, but unlike original comics he truly cares for his son and Goblin is his split personality ( I believe Sam Raimi was inspired by this).
Willem Dafoe will always be the true live action Green Goblin. And he definitely outdid himself in No Way Home than he originally did in the 2002 movie.
@@shadowtherogue1970 I think it just comes up to your own preferences of how the goblin should be. Spider-Man’s GG was more calculated in his madness and was much more at odds with the Norman Osborne persona. NWH’s GG, was just purely maniacal and unhinged when he was in control and really felt like an out of control madman. Both are great adaptations of the goblin, but the preference comes to whichever version of him the person likes to see shine.
He's pretty much the only live-action Norman Osborn to become Green Goblin. (And i mean this, by the way, because the guy in Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 died of old age & a disease; not only that, but there was also no Goblin Formula made in that universe.)
So cool that the goblin from each tv show and evolution match the graphical design of the tv show/movie. Especially the 2:18 one looks exactly like how it would look on the show
i honestly loved the Spectacular Spider-Man’s Green Goblin, he really felt like an actual threat and they hide the fact it was Norman Osborn so well. God I hope a Season 3 will come
@@DjPhantom2158 pretty much. Especially if Star Wars The Clone Wars continued and we got the Spidermen in No Way Home. I think anything is possible. We should get a potition to bring it back
William Dafoe is an example of amazing casting, but for animated I gotta say the Spectacular Spider-Man. It seemed a bit more terrifying just due to the sheer fact of how calculating he could be. Edit: Willem Dafoe*, sorry it autocorrected.
I think the ideal next villain to tackle would be Doctor Octopus. He's had almost as many adaptations as Gobby, a lot of whom are incredibly interesting.
I like how Goblin has come a long way from a ridiculous clown on a glider, who could only scare children, to a truly terrifying supervillain who almost destroyed Spider-Man not only physically, but also mentally.
@@Kenny-ep2nf Earlier in the movie you can see a guy in the flight suit testing the glider at Oscorp. The original color was purple and Gobby painted it green.
Personally, Spectacular Spider-Man is my favorite Goblin. The show perfectly nailed the fact that the relationship between the two is less of a “Jekyl and Hyde” scenario and instead both sides of Mr. Osborn (Norman and Goblin) are pretty horrible and manipulative. I don’t care what anyone says, Green Goblin/Norman Osborn is right up there with Dr Doom, Loki, Red Skull, Thanos, Magneto, and Ultron as some of the biggest threats to the Marvel World.
@@beckslvtr2232 turns out It was actually Norman. The time when Green Goblin and Norman Osborn were in the same place, it was actually Chameleon masquerading as Osborn to steal Oscorp information. As for Harry, the green formula didn’t have the goblin affect on him, he was just Blacking out. It was Norman who was the Goblin. The time Harry was unmasked, Harry had actually just woken up from one of the blackouts. As with the fight where Spider-Man fought the Green Goblin and he limped away, Norman was faking the limp. When he got home and saw Harry lying on the floor unconscious, he quickly took off the costume and twisted his own son’s leg to give him a limp. Honestly knowing how he was willing to frame and injure his son without hesitation just makes him more evil to me.
The Spectacular Spider-Man is absolutely the best in terms of its depiction of the character, but I got to give it to the 90s Spider-Man, because they're aesthetic choices were on point and everybody looked just like the comic book counterpart.
For the Goblin's second animated appearance the reason why he "sometimes" wears a mask is because this version of the Goblin appeared in 2 Spiderman series at the same time in 1981. In Spiderman (the solo series) he is just a guy in a rubber mask, while in Spiderman and his Amazing friends, he drinks the potion and "magically" transforms into the Goblin.
Uh, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends was surprisinly ahead of its time. They had a monster Goblin 20 years before the Ultimate Goblin, and a considerably more subdued version at that.
@@TellItAnimated even the look of the characters are different example: Dr. Doom is totally drawn different as well as having different voice actors for both series.
I'd say the two biggest reasons for Goblin's design drastically changing from 2010 media and onwards is because: 1. The live-action movies (both Raimi and Webb films) struggling to adapt the costume to live-action without making some serious sacrifices to the overall design. 2. The Ultimate Spider-Man comic basically making Green Goblin more like the Hulk so writers/animators wouldn't have to come up with a reason why a successful businessman would dress up like a fantasy monster flying around in purple tights.
True, they now had two different interpretations and I think they started to pick and choose different ideas from each one, retaining his glider and what not but also making him more monstrous
4:05 I see what you did there using 2 Nintendo 64 Golden Eye 007 carts when saying No Way Home Green Goblin has more golden eyes, very creative and clever Tell It Animated.
The Green Goblin, the most iconic Spider-Man villain. Personally my favourite design is actually the TASM Norman Osbourne, the one with the Goblin disease. I kinda hoped that Harry would also become this monstrous too after injecting the formula.
They made Green Goblin the best Marvel villain in the MCU in just one movie. I love Green Goblin, hope they bring him back and not kill him off cause I want to see more of the character.

Willem Defoe will always be my favourite Green Goblin! This was a really good evolution! I never knew about the good goblin thanks to this. I sure hope Doc Ock is next, he’s my favourite!
It's a hard decision. Willem Dafoe was so perfect for the role and I really liked him as the goblin, but Spectacular Spider-Man goblin literally hurt/framed his own son and he was just such a good goblin.
I really loved the Ultimate Spider-Man series, but always seems to be undermined by the Spectacular Spider-Man series. I like how he became Goblin, an actual goblin monster instead of a guy in a Halloween costume. Also, you really drew him on-point!
Originally, William Dafoe was going to wear an animatronic mask, because he was supposed to physically transform into a goblin, but it was too uncomfortable and hard to work with, so they gave him goblin armor, instead.
Spec Goblin is probably my favorite. The series had an inventive mystery about who he was, and even before the reveal you can see how Norman is not a good person. While I like Dafoe Goblin, the evil-split-personality thing really isn't Goblin & Norman's relationship. Goblin very much is just a persona Norman puts on, and while the Goblin formula does make him more extreme he was by no means a good person before using it.
Thank you for getting straight to the point and not spending 4 hours describing the green undertones of just one goblin, unlike most redditor tier videos
While I absolutely adore Willem Dafoe's Goblin, I think my favorite is from Spectacular. Instead of having a tragic incident, he willingly takes the serum to make himself stronger. He's not in a Jekyll and Hyde situation, he uses the Goblin persona to be his true self. A true psychopathic, sadistic monster who gleefully kills on his own accord, is much scarier to me than a man who can't control it. He's truly evil, he frames his son, breaks his leg, beats him down, and torments Spider-Man for the fun of it. Sure he's philosophical at times, but in truth he's just a monster. Even worse, he's not just insane, because he's always in his right mind, knowing what he's doing, he's still just as intelligent. There's something about a man who shows himself as a cold, cool, all business person who talks in a quiet calm manner, turning into a wild, manic, depraved psychopath, wickedly laughing in a shrill voice after simply donning a mask is scarier. The mask isn't a different character, It's just Norman's true face, just like his quote "We all wear masks, Spider-Man, but which one is real? The one that hides your face, or the one that is your face?".
Yeah, Norman on this show was always shady, dealing with Hammerhead and Tombstone and then when he has enough of being used, he starts taking down both heroes and villains in a clever way, manipulating things. And he has no compulsions about even sacrificing his own son to save his skin.
Personally my favorite Spidey villain especially after NWH. Glad you made this I don’t think we’ve really had a bad goblin design (minus tasm 2 obviously).
ive always loved the design era of the Spectacular spiderman, with others like Transformers animated and the old Teen Titans. I just love the proportions of that era.
While the Spectacular version is the overall best version of Green Goblin imo, my favorite design is and remains the one from Spider-Man TAS. The face is creepy, colors oversaturated, purple glider 💜 Great designs for both Gobby and Hobby.

correction doc ock is our favorite & i agree Willem Defoe is a bad ass green goblin
I remember recommending this evolution and I don’t regret it, lol! Awesome work as per usual!
It's a hard decision. Willem Dafoe was so perfect for the role and I really liked him as the goblin, but Spectacular Spider-Man goblin literally hurt/framed his own son and he was just such a good goblin.
"Ya know I'm something of a scientist myself"

You know this video is something of a masterpiece itself

I really loved the Ultimate Spider-Man series, but always seems to be undermined by the Spectacular Spider-Man series. I like how he became Goblin, an actual goblin monster instead of a guy in a Halloween costume. Also, you really drew him on-point!
Originally, William Dafoe was going to wear an animatronic mask, because he was supposed to physically transform into a goblin, but it was too uncomfortable and hard to work with, so they gave him goblin armor, instead.
The long awaited is here and it won’t disappoint
Oh.. Isupport studied English with this
I restarted English after 10 years

2:58 i did not want to be reminded of this monstrosity
3:02 MANS DID JUST NOT DO GWEN/💀 LIKE THAT
Good job mickey
Spec Goblin is probably my favorite. The series had an inventive mystery about who he was, and even before the reveal you can see how Norman is not a good person. While I like Dafoe Goblin, the evil-split-personality thing really isn't Goblin & Norman's relationship. Goblin very much is just a persona Norman puts on, and while the Goblin formula does make him more extreme he was by no means a good person before using it.
My favourite is the 1990's Spider-Man the animated series, Green Goblin. His design translates very well in the show, especially his mask/face. 🎃
This is the design I think of, when I think of the green goblin.
The design that I think of when envisioning the Green Goblin is none other than Willem Dafoe’s
2:28 look at his teeth 😂
thank you so much
please do this for more characters too
Oh god😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'd love to see an Optimus Prime evolution. That'd be a long one, but I'd love to see the designs in your art style
Optimum pride bweh ergh eh ergh

"You know, Norman Osborne is something of a scientist himself."
Fax. Goblin approved.
2:05 that looks exactly like him bro
Thank you for getting straight to the point and not spending 4 hours describing the green undertones of just one goblin, unlike most redditor tier videos
3:58 I just find it funny that it’s Mickey Mouses hand transporting the goblin
Also could you do electro or lizard next?
Or doc ock and sand man
“It’s bitsy spider goes up the water spout out came the goblin and knocked the spider out”
I honestly loved Len Carlson's take on Green Goblin. Wish he got to reprise the role in the 1994 series before his death in 2006.
"But the one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall die trying." - Green Goblin
Me: *opens a bag of chips as quietly as possible*
Everyone in the room: 4:22
Norman: no you can’t do this to me. You know how much I sacrificed!
Lolz
This is going to be so amazing I can’t wait for this I love it so awesome
Killing it as usual.
Just like the Goblin killed May.

Yoda 😂
my favorite green goblin is probably the one from the original animated show.
You don't have to write a whole essay
Wrong answer !
Spectacular Goblin is definitely closer to how the character was originally written, not as a tragic man twisted into evil, but a bad man made worse.
Please, Doctor Octopus
Yeah, Norman on this show was always shady, dealing with Hammerhead and Tombstone and then when he has enough of being used, he starts taking down both heroes and villains in a clever way, manipulating things. And he has no compulsions about even sacrificing his own son to save his skin.
I really liked the Green Goblin from TASM2. It was so cool seeing that realistic goblin to me.
yeah I kinda like it too
You Know He's
Something Of An Animator
Himself.
2002 Gobby's always been my fav! Honestly he's one of the few comic supervillains whose design looked BETTER in live action.
Damn, I didn’t expect this.
I expected Spider-Man.
But now I can wait for Doc Ock.

But Spider-Man with all that animated crap you saw, Far From Home, PlayStation (2018-2023?), and No Way Home.
Personally my favorite Spidey villain especially after NWH. Glad you made this I don’t think we’ve really had a bad goblin design (minus tasm 2 obviously).
You consider the TASM2 Harry as green Goblin? Trust me no one does.
ive always loved the design era of the Spectacular spiderman, with others like Transformers animated and the old Teen Titans. I just love the proportions of that era.
Willem defoe is the best actor to act as Green goblin in live action movies❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍happy that he returned in Spiderman no way home!❤🤩❤❤❤
This is officially my favorite episode
Mine too
While the Spectacular version is the overall best version of Green Goblin imo, my favorite design is and remains the one from Spider-Man TAS. The face is creepy, colors oversaturated, purple glider 💜 Great designs for both Gobby and Hobby.
@Lil Duster maybe The Animated Series?
Tas stands for the animated series
The oversaturated colours suck are an eyesore imo
Would’ve been cool if in No Way Home, Norman’s skin tone showed a bit of green to symbolize the Goblin taking over.
Like a green lighting on his face shining from his armor? Yeah that woulda been soo cool. I was kinda expecting that too
My favorite goblin is the Ultimate spiderman version. He looks pretty tough and his design just appeals to me
si como spiderman 2002 y 2004 y 2014 y 2021
me saludas
soy fans de marvel
I hope the guy who made this comment is talking about the Green Goblin in Ultimate Spider-Man comics and not that terrible cartoon
Agree
Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin has to be my favorite Marvel villain especially after seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home

Love how you drew all the goblins in ultimate Spider-Man
You forgot the best one, the fan film "the green goblins last stand"
