Realistic bikes in realistic British riding conditions.
As always huge appreciation for the riding ability and enthusiasm.
They would all put a lot of cars to shame. Even the SV650 made a fool of most of the super cars.
@@chrishart8548 Pininfarina Battista quarter mile 8.55 seconds
Dodge Demon SRT quarter mile in 8.92 seconds
Lucid Air Sapphire 9.2 seconds (a 4 door family car)
Porsche 992 Turbo S quarter mile 9.9 seconds
McLaren 765LT quarter mile in 9.8 seconds (9.37 best time)
Kia EV6GT quarter mile in 11.4 seconds
Tesla Model S Plaid quarter mile in 9.5 seconds
Tesla Model 3 Performance quarter mile in 11.5 seconds
Corvette C8 Z06 quarter mile in 10.4 seconds
An SV650 does the quarter mile in 14.4 seconds
@THEREALZENFORCE a lot of very fancy cars in there. Some of the more normal ones are still around 11.2sec same as a f800r I was hoping the sv650 was around 12.85 sec or 3.9sec 0-60mph
@@chrishart8548 Fancy cars ? You talked about sports cars and not normal cars : The Porsche Turbo S is a 200k sports car, the Corvette C8 Z06 is a 150k sports car, the Dodge Demon SRT is a 100k muscle car, The Tesla Model S Plaid a 90k family Sedan. The 150k Byd U9 Yangwang is also a sportscar that would win in drag racing
@@THEREALZENFORCEsv is more around 12 secs on the quarter not 14.4 and costs about 6k its beating the likes of golf r’s m140i rs3 etc out the box which isn’t to bad even the fastest stock superbikes don’t touch modern supercars nowadays most bikes struggle to get into the 9s even the high end ducatis BMWs Kawasaki h2 etc
Wish the project SV650 was here also. This was great ❤
Agreed, that's a peachy motor for relative small change.
Great vid as usual. Maybe do the 765 RS, MT09 SP & 890 next? That’d be interesting to see the roll ons
You have to put the z900 in there too!
And Ducati Monster 937
The 890 is a whole other class of bike than these mentioned.
I do enjoy these, more fun and less seriousness. This is what biking is all about, plus nothing like a wet runway to make 90hp a bit cheeky 😂
Glad you get it, a few people don't seem to.
This was great fun! Who cares about the surface as long as its equal. These videos shouldn't be collecting evidence for a science paper up for peer review. Its entertainment and fun!@@BikeWorldTVshow
I have the 2023 Suzuki GSX-8S and really like it. It’s a great bike for me. It’s great to see it in a test!😊
Loving these races with Chad and Chris.....top blokes 👍👍
Cheers!
Two of my favorite journalists. Great content guys!
I’m so glad that the “slow” Superbike-looking won. It looks and sounds great and, to those who can afford it, is easily worth the slightly greater retail price.
Would love to see a CB650R in comparison!
Plus the Hornet 750!
At its price, you might as well compare the Tuono with the MT09 and Street Triple.
Awesome, Thank YOu! Suzuki did better than what I thought! MT-07 did worse than I thought. KTM was what I thought and the Aprilia did what I thought. I almost bought a 660 Tuono, but got the KTM 890 R instead. I love my Duke 890 R...but I do wonder, what if? The Street Triple RS and MT-09 was also on my list. Next up....MT-09 vs. Duke 890 R vs. Street Triple RS and switch riders each bike. In-other-words: MT-09 vs. Street Triple RS then race same bikes but switch riders. Also, like to see races for 2nd and 3rd place. But I enjoy these!
A 900 class battle would be a good one to do. MT09, Z900, 890 etc.
Times for this one is it helps anyone.
Aprilia 660 = 11.9, 790 = 11.9, GSX-8S = 12.5, MT07 = 12.8, Z650 = 13.3.
You two are awesome together! That Aprilia is absolutely stunning.
Used to own a tuono 660 factory. Will always regret selling it. The sound is amazing and i has all the equipment, but most importantly is that the handling is out of this world. In the real world on twisty B roads there's hardly a bike faster than that Aprilia. On paper yes other stuff is faster, but the handling and confidence the bike gives with the very good brakes it has is insane
Same thing with my 1100 Tuono Factory, it "only" has 177hp but the way it handles twisty roads makes it almost unbeatable. Also high speed stability is the best I've ridden on any naked bike so far.
@@SNAPZ46 yeah I only changed because I got an insane deal on a new S1000RR.
I mean it has 207hp and is a dream bike, but on the road you need to be a combination of crazy and very skilled to leave that 660 factory behind. Obviously it would be different on a track, but honestly it would be down to power because the Aprilia really does handle well
Drag racing on a rainy day… ballsy!
Mate you both dropped your huge balls at the start line. Absolutely nuts to drag race on wet roads. Mad respect!
wish the new Hornet was there
agreed
that engine is a monster
@@joeblow5037a monster 😂
No hornet is disappointment, such an underdog bike
@@DaleMt09sp well, for a 750 parallel twin, 91 bhp is pretty good 👲
@@joeblow5037 they all run out of puff up top saw a clip on the Suzuki 100-200 kph was about 20 seconds when the mt09 ktm 890r etc are around 5-6 seconds
Good clear filming guys, great times for mid capacity twin cylinder engines !!
I've got a 660 Factory. Cracking little thing, great to see it getting some coverage. It's always overlooked in comparison tests... Yes it's more expensive, but it's playing in a higher league than all the others.
I thought about buying one of these but ended up with a hornet which was much cheaper. The Aprilia Tuono Factory sort of sits in a middle ground really between the more budget naked and the premium naked like the 890 and street triple where it would likely come last. I'm sure it's a great machine though 👍
@@paulfowler6665 I wanted the premium handling and tech (IMU based TC / ABS and cruise control, etc) but without too much power, and to that end it fits the bill nicely. I do worry about reliability and build quality a little though...
These are the best , real world form of testing of what Bike is quickest, Fastest 👍, Bravo Guys 👏👏
I would have like to seen The Ducati Monster thrown in just to see how it does. 🤔
nice comprarision by one of the best 2 riders on youtube..and mt07 deserves respect after 10 years of being in the segment with no electronics but abs.
great video! I would love to see how the cb650r would have done, just to see if 4 cylinders makes a difference.
It’s always a good day to race! Good show. Appreciate it!
Cheers!
Fantastic and fair and really enjoyable to watch. Thank you.
Bloody love this channel! 💪
Motojournalists featuring affordable motorcycles that most people can buy and ride. What a concept!
Cool and yeah on On Yer Bike are super cool 👍 demoed the og V4 Tunono there deffo worth dropping by.
Thanks Chris and Chad always entertaining 😘
Some duo man, all the best lads 👊🏻
Cheers!
would loved to see the new hornet in here, it would have done great
can't wait for the true middleweight dragrace z900 v mt09 v duke 890 v 765rs
👍
That’s absolutely amazing show
Thanks Bike World, great video!
I want this type of drag racing to keep adding more powerful bikes into the mix. So like now you've got the aprilia as the fastest euro, and the suzuki as the fastest japanese. So you could bring in two bikes from the class above, lets say a MT-09 and a Ducati Hypermotard. We'll see how much they gap the class below, and then next time you put say the GSX-S1000 and the BMW S1000 into the mix, we'll see the gap between those. Then at last of course, throw in the ridiculous exoticas. And then, as one final showdown: The Ducati V4 streetfighter vs the MT-07.
No hornet?!
Hornet would win it!
Wish you had the hornet and the trident there!
We tried, the problem is that all the manufactures are getting rid of their press fleet. Next time!
The look and sound of the Aprilia is 👌🏻
Great video as always in Australia the Aprilia 660 is more than the price of a new MT09SP or a base model new MT10 ouch!!!
These results makes me appreciate my recent RS 660 purchase that much more.
Shocker - the most powerful bike won the drag race!😂 Nice bikes!
Street triple rs was a "must have" in this video :P Great vid anyways :))
So cool ... hers a sugestion do a mid-high range... KTM 890, XSR 900, Z900, street triple... and then mix them up a bit so we can see a difference between bike classes. So like do a ZX6R vs XSR 900 vs Ducati V4s vs Ninja 400 just to get a good idea how much apart the bikes are on drag races basically take the best between categories. Its not about what bike wins but by how much and what happens off the line with each bike. Also consider adding more tests like car wow... do a rolling or potentially even a stop test (though on bikes that's probably going to vary too much)
Cracking shoot out ... shame it wasn't dry though. Would also like to know what settings you used on the electronics on the Aprilia and the KTM .... I've not ridden the Aprilia but know for a fact that the modes and settings make a big difference to how the KTM behaves.
Both bikes are like that, actually. I think if you're riding either one and there's no trophy to win, you'll be happy as.
Awesome video. Wish the hornet 750 would have made it to this lineup..
In dry conditions I think the Hornet might have had a chance to win but with its smaller rear tire it likely would have finished last.
I have 2x 660 Tuono and we love ❤️ it so much 😍
So easy too drive and it feel like a big bike by 7000RPM+ and the Sound from the Airbox 🤩
For Comute it is also great an my Wife love it too.
You can be faster in every corner than with the big TuonoV4. It is so stable and gives you so much confidence.
Do ADV bikes next! Love this series!
Watch This space!
Fantastic! More like Carwow now and that is NOT a bad thing! Keep em coming guys, I'm transfixed!
KTM 890 Duke ❤
Aaah, someone too agreed that that 660 twin sounds like a V4. I remember riding my friends RSV4-RF and then years late I come across another friend with the RS660, I had to actually look closely if I misread that it runs a parallel-twin and not a V4. Aprilias are awesome!
Quality viewing!
Thanks
why no Hornet 750? :(
I’ve gone from an XSR900, to a CB1000R, and then just recently went from the CB to a GSX-8S and I’m enjoying riding more now. It’s just more fun.
What a great comparison. I've got the 8S. Love that bike! If Aprilia had better dealer network - I probably would have gone for their 660 Tuono. Shame.
there's nothing wrong with their dealer network ! shame some people are still listening to rumours from the 90's ! 🤣
@@sk2283I know, their dealer network is brilliant in the UK and across Europe. Can't speak for US/CAN
@@SirJamesSomerville99 Yes I think the dealers are more spread out across the pond, but its a bloody big country !! 🤣
@@sk2283 so true, I still hear that excuse for not buying an Aprilia often. Also they like to lie to themselves about the long wait times for parts and high prices for maintenance when in reality both are not a problem and prices are on par with Japanese manufacturers. I guess it's a way of coping with having to settle for the cheaper bike.
Chicagoland Aprilia dealer is here for you @ozzyg82
Parallel twins im sure in Real world use are on the street are brilliant the way the power is made , but man they sound horrendous
Curious if you guys were revving the Suzuki to redline or short shifting to keep it in its high torque range?
So in the twisties the difference would be smaller. That would actually be more interesting.
Thanks!
These drag races make for great content! Could you guys do a drag shootout with the 1000 cc superbikes? Would love to see how a GSX-R 1000R, V4R, RSV4, etc. compare in a quarter mile with competent riders…
Thanks, we might have to wait for a dry day.
Suzuki v Yamaha is classic demonstration of torque v power. Torque get you off the line then power takes over.
I was really close to buying an Aprilia 660 Factory but I just couldn't trust it's reliability. Sounded amazing though and perfect for riding on the road.
Good call. Sadly the italian brands, and to some extent all euro brands have reliability issues. As long as I'm a one bike man, I'll be riding japanese bikes. But I'd love to have a european bike as a second bike. But I'm not about to have my season ruined because of reliability issues!
Having ridden Honda for the past 8 years, I bit the bullet and got a 21 Tuono V4, and I haven't looked back once. I love it to bits! The power, the noise, the way it makes you feel! Reliability has not been an issue so far 🤞
Great video! How is the breaking performance on the different bikes? Any noticeable differences in stopping distance ?
Great fun! So the Aprilia did not catch the GSX until 115 kph in the warm tires run. For legal riding (100k kph where I live) the GSX will be quicker!?
Absolutely. The torque range of the Suzi wins hands down.
The Hornet is very conspicuously absent there....
Would have loved to see the hornet and trident in there aswell
Amazingly , the Suzuki looks the best , especially the Blue which is not usually my color .
Where's SUZUKI SV650 .... ?????
☹️🙄😮💨😫
Its great when you can get behind the fairing on the naked bike test…😆 #tuononotanakedbike
No Hornet...what were you thinking?
Picked a great day for a drag race in wet 'ol blighty... If you went sideways, shoulda had the traction control on... 😂😂😂😂
Wish you had a Triumph in the mix
Is the 660 aprilia like the V4? I had a tuono, but it was so refined and racy, I didnt like it for the street.
I can't understand... you can drive on comute and stay under 8000RPM and it rides super soft. Everything is adjustable from mapping to throttle response.
Should you not switch bikes on each test to see if it's down to the man and his weight?
Bom vídeo, porém faltou a descrição da ficha técnica comparativa e os tempos de cada uma .
I already owned the aprilia 660 and they have endless problems. Coolant leaks and oils leaks just like the ktm
Why no Hornet 750?
Maybe for the next race you get the 900's. Next class of this ones
mt 09 , z900 ktm 890, gsx950
That's a good shout. :)
@@shadowred1980 yea, those are lovely bikes too. Still on budget but amazing on torque
Z900, 765rs, 890r, mt09, monster all of them
Good times for modest power bikes on a wet track
F800r was 11.2 1/4 mile it's average for the power of these bikes I wouldn't say there particularly good. 70-90hp is reasonable power vs a lot of cars.
Honda Hornet is pretty bonkers and it's not here :(; Nonetheless, great video as usual guys!!
We couldn't get one.
@@BikeWorldTVshow Too bad but its 160 rear tire would have been a big handicap in the wet!
You wouldn't get home on the Tuono, unless going via the garage. Mine lasted 9 months and 3 warranty claims later it was gone.
So if the cb650r doesn’t fit in this category, where dose it belong?
I have a new hornet. Why is it not involved? I really wanted to see how that went!! Not seen it drag raced against the GSX-8s and would fancy its chances. Also Aprilia shouldn't have been the factory model to make it fairer against the KTM surely?
We couldn't get a Hornet, and Aprilia won't officially allow their bikes to be drag raced so we have to get what we can.
Next time please, could you show the complete time sheet at the end ? Thanks
even tho the tuono is the smalles it kicked the most ass. even against bigger bikes like mt07 and duke
Hmmmm, I don’t think the. CB500x was the first middleweight twin class. The one that started it all off started it in the late 1980’s. It was the GPZ500s. I had one if the first ones and it was a quick little bike for the day capable of over 130mph.
What about the Street triple 765?
It would be interesting to see the same but with the A2 restriction
That would be interesting
Wouldn't that mean they would all be capped at 47hp couldn't imagine what the results would be.
Would be great to see how the Honda CB750 Hornet competes against these
Where is the new 2 cyl honda?
Onyerbike is a great place to buy. Really good service.
one of the things i love bikes its, you give a bike to a adult doesnt mater the size of the engine its garanted he our she are gonna to feel like kids doing bournouts and whellies and just having fun 😄😃
Aww no Street Triple RS? Was hoping to see triumph in the line up😢
Street Triple is a class above.
The Triumph in that category would be the Trident.
Also bummed by the absence of the Hornet 750.
If these are middleweights than what is the street triple 765?
Where's the hornet?
We couldn't get a Hornet or Trident.
The bikes should have the same tyres, as the MT07 had the best tyres for this conditions, by far.
No offerings from Honda or CFMOTO?
Honda doesn't want to put their Hornet into drag race
Very entertaining. If only the surface was dry.
Would love to see an uncorked gsx-8 run against these bikes. It is really choked down by emissions and with airbox and exhaust (+flash) gains up to 12 hp.
You just have to do more of these, but the F%$& was the 750 Hornet?
Would be good to see a drag race between 90s and modern bikes, see if things have really moved on
can you do 750-900s? z900, mt09, duke 890 r, street triple 765rs
Yes please, but I don't think the porky Z900 would have a chance.
@nicksokolis6343 heavier means it won't wheelie as much thus you can put the power down. I have the 2020 z900 and it pulls like crazy
@@joeplem5329 ive owned 21 mt09 base, and currently 23 mt09sp. Before buying 09sp, i did test drove z900, mt09sp, and new 765rs and my butt dyno says 765r is definitely faster in all area. Mt09 slightly behind and z900 was third from my perspective. I didnt get to test ride 890r. I heard it is just as good as other competition.
@@joeplem5329 putting the weight don on straight lines and turning are 2 different things. There is really no performance benefit to weight.
I think Duke 890 beats them all with z900 close second
Yes where is the Hornet!
Cb650 and 750?
a rare moment where the KTM actually worked.
Yes, true, but i wonder if the new 2023+ Duke 790's assembed in China are better. The Cam lobe wear is bad.
where is the honda cb 750 hornet?
