- The MT 07 is a popular bike in the middleweight class, but how does the 2024 edition compare to the competition? That's what I discuss in this video!

Well. I own an MT07. Aftermarket for it is insane. So overwhelming. And top 5 best sounding bikes out there.
Great comparison with valuable information.👍
MT07 , because of the sound and the feeling of the bike. I had to pass my exam on MT07 and fall in love with it. It is souch a easy bike to handle and to learn on. My idea is to use it for few years and get better in riding and after that who knows sell or keep we will see. But i order mine in few days. Akrapovic exaust of course ..😂
MT07 is amazing, in my school we had few different bikes like Suzuki Gladius, SV650 and Trident but MT07 was the best, total hooligan, total fun. I just wish it had a little bit better suspension and it would be perfect!
I agree but it can be changed if I decide to keep it.@@Croth4r
@@Joke89ful Yeah i guess u're right, i also wonder how the hornet 750 rides compared to mt07, reviewers say its bonkers and stock can sounds nice
@@Joke89fulwhat about the sp? I’m 6’4 230 , I’m thinking about the mt09 sp or an xsr900 🤔. Also.. im not looking to squid. Just to get from point A to b and have a fun riding and looking bike to do it on that i won’t get bored of
Nice comparison! Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Just sitting on them, I thought the MT-07 was more comfortable and felt lighter. I'm 6'1" with a 33" inseam. The extra features and (imo) better looks of the 8S are definitely a draw.
The MT-07 is a bit cheaper than the 8S, and the used ones are almost the same price as the new ones, which are factors in favor of the MT-07.
Pete is out here answering the million dollar questions lol😂 I never thought I would ever be comparing fenders and saying how much better the mt's fender is over the 8s 😆. Btw though I always thought the only thing I could pick at with this new 8 model is the short or small pillion space and you just proved not only this but also the debris or water coverage that short seat or long fender with or without may give. Also, Pete you can take it into consideration for the future vids and show us how those seats accommodate a passenger.
Most passenger seats in this class are pretty pathetic. Fine for a close friend around town, but not something I'd take someone out for long rides on.
Also... Thanks for the comment... It made me laugh. 🤣
I got the gsx8s. I wanted the mt07, but I waited 9 months for one to come in and it never did. I sat on the gsx8s and it felt great so I chanced it and fell in love with it. 3 months later an mt07 came in and I sat on it and road it and all and getting the gsx8s was the best choice iv ever made. It craps all over the mt07 in every way. 😊.
I've seen a video of drag race between mt07 and 8s and despite almost 100cc bigger the 8s is just marginally faster.quarter mile difference is less than half a second and mt07 was actually faster in the first few seconds which translates to stop light to stoplight street race the 8s isn't too sure if it can shake the mt07.For smaller riders the Mt07 is still the King imo
@gdvadventours5512 I know 0 to 100, my gsx8s will stomp a 600 and a 750 4 cylinder up to 100 mph. After a hundred, they take me, but till then, my gsx8s will embarrass the hell out of those bikes.
@Albert-my3yt it's like you nail them for 3 seconds then inhale their dust for 7.5 seconds to the quarter mile 😆
@@gdvadventours5512 word.
Looks like you are at the same position almost is xactly the same position both look like winners to me Peter you have one of the best job of altime bro great great job keep up the good work
Haha. It is a fun gig. Thanks for your kind words, and thanks for watching.
My pick would be the Suzuki. More up to date front end and brakes, quick shifter standard, better dash layout and position. (Did anyone at Yamaha consider how you will access the ignition switch if you mount a small windshield ?!?!)
It is an odd position for an ignition switch. I didn't think about the drawback of that position if you wanted a windshield. Interesting point.
When is 8R😊 review coming?
As soon as I can get my hands on it! That's definitely a bike that I want to see up close!
I’m excited for the 8R review, as always great job Pete!
Good review! So the only thing better on the MT07 are the tyres 🫠😂
Price. Comfort for some, but yeah. It was the class standard for MANY years, and in 2024 there are certainly options with better components... The real question is, do those better components actually make any difference at all in the smiles per mile category. Never buy a bike from a spec sheet, buy a bike that you love. If it's the MT-07, you'll join tens of thousands of satisfied riders.
Yea. Spend the few hundred more & get the GSX-8S
Gsx for sure
Prior to me watching the video I’ll guess: Suzuki better on paper in every way apart from tyres? Yet I’ll also bet people will go for the Yamaha, because it’s just more fun, simple as that.
You sir, win the internet! Never buy a bike from a spec sheet. But also, always read the spec sheet. 🤣👍
@@PeterLoweOneVery true, great comparison video!
@@PeterLoweOneSpecs are important but what is more important is how the bike transfers those specs to the rider and to the pavement. Personally the torque and playfulness of the MT07 is what interests me...that and the sound of that 270 cross plane parallel twin. *chef's kiss*
Handle bar on the mt07 looks a bit higher
8S 👍
GSX
Insurance, factor in the fact that MT07 are the most stolen in this category
Theft rates can vary per location, and may not hold true everywhere. I don't think you'll see a huge variation where I live.
❤
🙂
GSX any day!
8s
The MT07 will hold its resale value MUCH better than a Suzuki.
You think? I'm not so sure about that. It may have been true historically, but I would think the type of features that the rest of the class has may change some of that.
@@PeterLoweOne we can only go by history to determine long term value.
All the Japanese manufactures are making machines which last forever if you care for them. Do you know people whose Suzukis have fallen apart? I’ve rarely heard of such a problem on any bike let alone Japanese bikes..
The Suzuki has a higher resell value because the MT is probably gonna get stolen before the owner can sell it.
Where do you get this info from 😂😂. You’re wrong
If they update the mt07 then it can compete again but with the new mt09 they might not bother with big upgrades
This is part of why I like to review every bike that I can, every year. Even if a great bike doesn't change, the market around it might change which puts that once great bike in a new perspective.
