That Multi is a bloody Panigale on stilts- but the KTM really held up well. But the most impressive was the BMW for the traction and smooth climb through the transmission.
Marvelous entertainment !! Chris and Chad are just the right people to have a fun competition like this 👍👍
Good test just for science! 😁Power it's all about KTM V2 vs DUCATI V4. At the end, V4 edges acceleration by a nose. In roll-ons,V2 outperforms the V4 by a lot!! I would say, in the real world, the V2 will have the edge. But please replace the Mitas by decent tyres. NICE VIDEO CHRIS AND CHAD!
That was epic, can't wait to see how the new GS1300 does in comparison! Cheers guys.
Probably worse with it being lighter 😂 probably gets the power down because it’s 260kg
Can’t believe the grunt of the BMW!😮
Bmw and Ducati are both 20k+ with the deals on the ktm is about 15k with everything chucked it at
I rode all bikes except the Harley. I've owned a GS1200 and now own a GS 1250 after having had an LC8 1190 Adventure S for five years. The LC8 is definately the more exciting engine. The V4 is very efficient, but lacks soul to me, it's the least exciting of all to me. I'm impressed by how well the GS 1250 held up to the 1290, which really feels like a rocket ship and feels much faster to me
No Triumph !!
The Ducati sounds wonderful..
Follow the same format CarWow does on their channel. Drag race, rolling race in comfort and sport mode and brake test.
Would have been nice to see a drag race between the bmw and the harley considering the infamous revzilla rolling drag race between them.
Staggering Good Fun lads, thank you v much!
Another great presentation! Good information and high entertainment! That GS was the surprise for me.
Impressive. A shoot out to see which bike is quickest… In the rain. Brilliant
With the KTM mounting the Mitas Terraforce R, that on the wet are very bad tires...
Loved that, standard tyres on the KTM are a bit shite in anything other than bone dry summer roads,I've got Michelin Road 6's on mine ..outstanding tyre.
I want to see Chad and Chris drag racing into their 70’s 😃💪😂
We are close
@@Chad76Media 😂😂😂
@@Chad76Media You went far more than into the 70s - you’re probably into the 70s on the change from first into second gear!😂
That Ducati is so pretty!
Love the sound of the Duc but that sold me on the GS.
KTM 1290 Super Adventure 😍🔥
Nice...Would have liked to see a roll on comparison with the other bikes and drag race of the Harley and BMW.
these videos are so much fun! it's great to see you having such a fun time making them!!!
Cheers Jake, glad you get it.
these guys are wild doing this on a wet runway.. respect.
Now you have to drag race a r1300gs with a 1290 and a multistrada rs and next year will be insane an m1400gs ktm 1390 and multi rs imagine that (also m1000xr)
Wow, the BMW smashed the KTM until you were at licence losing speeds!
*loicense
The BMW smashed the KTM until the KTM stopped wheelspining is more accurate, and the Ducati beat them all
@@ItsAllJustBolloxthat’s basically what was said. I have a gs and for touring for me it wins hands down. Long miles off track but nowhere ever have I or would I ever assume they are build for speed or handling. I have other bikes for that. The ducati wins this but off road as an “adventure bike” it wouldn’t win and as a fast road bike against road bikes it wouldn’t win either
@@Crsf84 none of these bike are real off road bikes the only real difference off road is the riders ability, the majority of owners wont even do a gravel road BMW Ducati KTM and Harley know this that's why they are constantly adding tech to compete with each other on road.
So in the real world the most engaging, best handling and fastest of these mile munchers is the Italian one.
Was the bmw on 50/50 Tyres? If so, even more impressive!
Good job guys , i think next time with GS 1300 you must switch drivers also in every race and you must do a race with the "losers" in order to have a better ranking, and maybe a XR 1000 in the race???
Thanks for the videos guys! ✊✊✊
This is so fun and for keyboard warriors very educational! Kudos to Chris and Chad for making these "drag" videos. 😍
(BMW seems to have the by far the best TC/ECU programmers. As an owner of the M1000R *and* the Z H2 I an attest to that. BMW (or Bosch?) engineers are the best)
Loving these drag races, would love to see some sort of reference bike(something like a new honda hornet) just to see if most bike are closer than what people think.
Another great drag race.
I think on dry road KTM could be a winner
Which lets be honest, is once in a blue moon in the UK 😅
Love these videos 👌 awesome the gs was the surprise for me that thing shifts for a big girl
Gotta love this 2guys.
Much more fun to be had on the SAS out of all of them 😊
If by fun you mean taking it to the dealer once a week for repair, I agree.
@@martyllanos73have you ever owned a KTM...My 1190adventure has done 29000miles and has been faultless...and it's ridden hard both off road and on!
Had my 1290R a couple years with zero issues.
another great content...
Ducati V4 AMAZING
This should happen. Every reviewers should do this. I like it.
Harley, as usual, looks great in the rear view
the 1290 losing to the 1250...thats almost impossible, until you factor in the useless Mitas tires of the KTM in the wet
Any getting that power down.
@@BikeWorldTVshow Getting the power down with no traction control ON is solely a rider's job, not motorcycle's, isn't it? ;)
Tiger 1200? Would’ve been interesting to see how it stacks up mid - top end they fly but a bit weak off the bottom end
Nice showdown, look forward to watching you send the new BMW 1300,... Change of subject, Are we ever going to see that Indian FTR 1200 again? Watched you strip it to use as a competition flat tracker, where is it now, have you lost interest, or have I missed an episode, if you aren't going use it is it up for sale, OAP Wales.
The Ducati, like a sport bike has a powerband like one as well. This is why the 1290 wins in roll on tests due to significantly more mid range torque.
Perfect video... Congratulations 👏🎉... Please , You must put to the same drag race the 1200 Honda Crossturer
I’m not sure if it possible to get the angle of your clutch hand while launching, but if at all possible to show how your clutch hand is being used at launch that would be really helpful to see how well you can control your clutch hand. I have a 929rr fire blade and I’m always so nervous to launch. Any tips would help w the clutch hand
Much love from Wisconsin in the states !
Excellent video guys I would have never believed the GSA would beat the KTM
That wasn’t a GSA
Mitas tires on the wet and the cold= traction is just a word!!!
that multistrada v4 is no joke
Superb 👏👏👏
Great Video
I have 1290 SAS too. I should say wrong setup on this test 😅 you should Rally on riding mode Sport on Suspension mode and %100 for preloud. What you have is like speedy cruising setup
Ducati meu amor ❤️💋
UK is always raining, my goodness 😂😂
You have to go into custom mode with the Pan America to get full power. It is night and day.
2 great dudes :)
Thank You for this! The KTM hung with the Multistrada much better than I thought! There was something wrong. I've ridden all these bikes and every 1290 or even 1190 Adventure would pull the BMW all the way and by a longer distance. Also, from my experience on the Harley....I'd think the Harley would beat the BMW as well.
Mitas+🌧=💩
bmw always had highest torque where other bikes start getting more speed
Long story short….for everyday riding…GS all the way! Doesn’t win nothing but is always one of the best on everything! For me, GS is the best!
Can’t believe you guys didn’t switch bikes. I think one of you (the elder) was a much better drag racer.
You could probably get a fag paper between them, i don't think either is much better than the other in any riding aspect , apart from off road. This doesn't count however because dirt riding is for maniacs and frontal lobotomy victims.
Exactly, and clearly knowing how to control a bike much better from the start. The taller guy spinning all around was just hurting the image of the bikes he rode. Or just keep them all with traction control on to take most of the rider's influence out of the equation and this way we'd have any sort of information. The only valid and worth taking into account are the rolling races where they didn't have to launch properly and fight for traction. I'm also stunned by why this video exists and what's the purpose of it...
@@VToldsMotoShow chris is a better rider on or off road than anyone in this comment section 😂
Blasting the throttle on wet surface and then complaining about wheelspin 😂 amazing bikes by the way
thanks you :)
Ktm is another animal with electrical MSR, etc, disconnected = fullpower
In real on road conditions rather than the traffic lights Grand Prix there’s very little between them we are spoiled for choice 👍
i rode the Harley and loved it
Love Love your videos! Curious how a BMW S1000XR would have done?
And the real life winner for us mortals is the bmw. Zimmer framed and 180 degree stabilisers included as standard
Fun fun! Does the sun ever come out over there??
Nice!
Does any of those bikes have some sort of launch control? It looks like the BMW and Ducati have LC but the KTM and HD are not equipped with it. It may not affect the results, just wanted to know.
No none of them
@@adamc209 Not launch control, but traction control would play a big role here - they were talking a lot about wheelspin but not what TC settings they used, which seems odd.
Awesome. Wish you’d have put the V4S against the GS. But only because I’ve got a V4S and contemplating a swap to the new GS1300 😅.
v4 s weight 5-10 kg less have 25 hp more at engine and at whelll be bigger diffrenc cos bmw have shaft so duc defenitelybeat bmw in a drag race 👌🏻 even assuming bmw have wider peak power cos diffrenc in peak power level is to big thateven if bmw have wider peak than duc still use more avg power for accelerstion + at lower drive train losess duc so no chance for bmw here 👌🏻 however me shot is that bmw is better road bike 😉👍🏻 as duc vs bmw results is obvious than true question is which is faster h-d or bmw 😉
m.th-cam.com/users/shortsaGpllI3Il_k gs1250 not to much slower against duc no chance dude start from to high gear thats why at first phase dont walk away very fast 😎👌🏻 but after this yea 🌪️….
im in the same boat, did you do it?
Shouldn’t an adventure bike drag race be through a 1/4 mile of sand, rocks and mud🤔. Enjoying the drag ram series👍
No, because anybody who buys these will ever see anything but pavement.
@@keithquinn5624that’s very true sir 👍🏻👍🏻
I had a 2003 1150GS for 12 years and in that time it went all over Europe and covered the princely sum of 200 metres off road (100 metres down the track and 100 metres back..)
Now after 3 years ownership of a 2019 1250GS I can recall that I’ve driven it zero miles off road….
Luxury…..
Geez that beemer is faster than I thought
Ktm factory tyres are good on dry warm weather. Bmw looks like has good 80/20 which great on damp and cold condition. If that drag race will be done on dry and warm condition, the Bmw has no chance against Ktm. I own SAS and pushed that bike to the limits on autobachns in Germany and also few drag races against more powerfull machines.
Would like to see the triumph in the mix
Excellent entertainment as always👍
I recently replaced my 1250GS with the 1290SAS ( maybe not the best decision i ever made ). Really surprised to see how well the GS did here.
Watching from Ghana 🇬🇭
Cool and welcome!
The thing this video shows is the Ducati traction and anti wheelie control electronics are way ahead of the rest.
No mid range roll on with the beemer?
on this wet undergrond it is a big question of traction controll setting of each bike, dry road can look different
You guys have to do this again. What a waste of time with a wet track!
It’s fun on a wet track, can’t control the weather, it’s this or sit at home and watch TV. 😂
thank u awsome
If ktm had pirelli scorpion trail track 2 tyres would have been a different ball game they grip into the road
Браво
Ducati and harley in the same sentence 😂
you need to swap riders between runs of the same bikes.
Well Chris, did the big ktm have them terrible mitas tyres on ? That would definitely let the gs beat u in the wet 😂
The ktm needed to be in rally mode!
Wonder why they didnt do that…
Rally Mode would have resulted in even more wheel spin. Rally Mode has a very aggressive throttle response. However, Rally Mode in the dry...it probably would keep up with the Multi.
Awesome, love these guys and this idea. With the Ducati and KTM in it I would have liked to see the S1000XR compared.
I have a guess that s1kxr would be faster than em all.
Imagine M1000XR 😮
No me creo que la BMW gane a KTM es imposible 😎
I wish they would have switched bikes. I think the older man is a superior racer.
All the power in the 1290 is in 3-4th
Love these drag race comparisons, just what bikes are for! Fuck sensible!
If the Ktm had a slip on as the multi and the gs...be sure that we had a "diferent story"
The power of that KTM LC8 engine showed the Ducati needed 4 cylinders to beat it. The KTM destroyed the GS easily but it’s clear being sponsored by bike makers it was held back a bit. Kayak still rules in my opinion, just wait until they put the 1,400vc LC8 engine in their beast.
No rain mode? Lol
Where is Tiger 1200?
I've been a motorcycle drag racer since 1973. I have a 2021 1290 Super Adventure in my garage parked next to my turbo Hayabusa drag bike. One of the big reasons I got the SA is because of it's power.
The bottom line is that the KTM is a crap drag bike. With the high center of gravity it wheelies in third gear and wheelies are one of the biggest limiters to a good quarter mile time. Being on a wet track only makes things worse because now traction is severely compromised.
I actually put a taller 40t rear sprocket on mine to cut back on the wheelies and make it a better cruiser at freeway speeds. It's an improvement. The 38t from the Beast would be better but that would be breaking the chain, which I didn't want to do.
So this comparison is fun but kinda meaningless. A better comparison would be a series of high gear rollons, starting at different speeds.
My '23 Rallye GS is every bit as fast as i need. A 30 litre tank gets me a useful distance..... i dont need anything more. Its the perfect bike. EDIT: I had a KTM 1290S, it failed so often i had to get rid of it, up to the GS. I loved that bike. It just didnt work.
KTM 🔥
The torque of the Beemer is always going to get a jump on the peaky motors.
Want a M1000XR added in... for reasons...
bonjour j'ai la même ktm je ne suis pas en phase avec le pilotage en 2nd j arrive à plus de 95km le pilote ne monte pas assez dans les tours ! c'est un bicylindre !
I suspect that the PanAm was not in the full Power mode.
It would be interesting to change the drivers too...
