This should’ve been a 2 hour interview. Frank sounds like such a knowledgeable collector. Can’t imagine how many great cigars he’s had
Couldn't agree more. We're hoping to tour his collection for the next interview.
Sounds like a really genuinely nice guy as well.
For all of you watching right now! Thank you so much! You are the reason we do this!
This was amazing to watch and food for thought especially for me who work in a cigar shop and smoke cigars everyday 😌
@@Mr_K888 WOW! That's saying a lot for someone who works in a cigar lounge. Thank you so much! There's a couple more very interesting interviews coming your way.
Absolute gem of an interview, thank you for putting this together.
Thank you for the kind words my friend!
Just found this channel, love the content and especially the reviews. Hope you don't stop anytime soon!
Steven, it's comments like yours that keep us going. Thank you so much brother!
I will come back and watch the remainder of this later but WOW....great channel and content, thank you!
No better compliment than that. Thank you brother!
As always you keep bringing more and more quality content and this was something special. Unique insight in the rarefied air some people get to live their lives in and I loved every minute of it. These old school guys are the best, their demeanor, their relaxed attitude about life, you can literally see the experience and wealth of knowledge with every new story they get to tell to our delight. Thank you for the effort you put in with each and every video and I appreciate as always what I know is not an easy work. I wish you all the best and keep doing what you do because you are a breath of fresh air for the cigar community with all the bullshit around censoring cigars videos and such.
WOW Vlad! You have no idea what that means to me and the people who help with this channel. I immediately took a screenshot and shared it with everyone. Thank you so much brother. I will try my best not to let you down and keep raising the bar for Cigar Media.
This was an absolute treat to watch. Thanks very much to Frank for sharing!
Agreed, the knowledge this man shared, it's a gift.
What a guy, and what a story! Superb.
The world is full of fascinating people.
Breathe less. Just outstanding!
Yes, and Thank you!
Great video as always!
Thank you so much! Comments like yours mean a lot to me.
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who loves the artwork from boxes to bands.
This is becoming a new hobby for me. The artwork is superb on many of these boxes.
What a great episode. I'm fortunate to have smoked a lot of fine and rare cigars but this interview puts that well into perspective. There is another world of such things i haven't even scratched.
Cigars go so deep. One reason why i love them so much.
Read Rothbard indeed 👍
Great video Law!! Very interesting. Frank loves cigars, that is very cool to see.
Thank you for watching. And yes, absolutely, you can see the passion in his eyes when he talks about cigars
This is phenomenal. Amazing interview. Which an amazing collector I could only dream of meeting. Heck I've never had an authentic cuban
Cubans used to be as good as they said. I am not sure how todays stack up, but I have heard you need to hold them for at least 2 years before smoking.
Great interview! Always fascinating to hear interesting stories attached to cigars & whiskey’s.
He knows so much more, i just didnt have enough knowledge to know what to ask
This is crazy 😮😮 We need a cigar museum!
Right!? I think JC Newman has one. We'll check it out at the meet up.
wow thank you for making this video. Truly appreciate it. Greetings from Australia and Malaysia

This has to be shared. The second we met Frank, i was like, "Everyone needs to hear this man." I'm not sure if he's ever done an interview before.
Such a wealth of experience and knowledge. Awesome interview!
Glad you enjoyed it man. Hopefully we get to go a round two and tour his private collection.

Incredible interview.
Glad you enjoyed it brother, we thoroughly enjoyed the knowledge he dropped on us too. We are in touch with a few more experts/collectors like him and will make a series out of it.
I rarely comment on videos, but tip of the hat to you Sir, superb interview, great questions, excellent insight from Frank, hope to bump into you guys at PCA 2024!!
Wow Stuart, i don't know what to say. Thank you so much. I rarely comment on other videos as well, so i know how much your comment means and i really appreciate. It would be an honor to run into you at PCA 24
Great video! I love your channel!

I enjoyed watching this interview
Thank you for watching, and for the kind comment!
Wow! I'd love to keep hearing the wealth of knowledge he has about the cigar industry!
We've reached out for a follow up, but he's a tough man to get a hold of.
If you could ask a him a question, what would it be?
Wow. New subscriber here and what an interesting interview. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Thanks for sharing this with us!
There is no bigger compliment. Thank you so much Andrew. We have a couple of more interviews from PCA, one entertaining as hell, and another from a known industry insider who has some pearls of wisdom himself.
Great interview! Frank seems like he's really down to earth.
He was a very cool guy. We talked for hours the day before this interview. Pretty awesome dude.
Excellent revelations, a lot have been said that few dare saying …

Incredible 😮
The knowledge, it's so deep
Great interview
Thank you my friend. More to come!
Great video!!!!!!!!! Way cool
Thank you so much! Hopefully we can get a follow up tour of his collection
These interviews are so good, to listen to a collectors opinions and thought's, rather then the producers of them. Would love to see him with his friend that got him started in an invteriew, as im guessing he carried on the collecting aswell
That would truly be a great interview. I didn't even think of that. I'll try my best to, but someone of that stature usually appreciates privacy. Doesn't hurt to try though
Really cool video!
Thank you Smitty!!!! 😊
This man is a walking encyclopedia and international treasure. I’m still a novice cigar smoker, but after watching this episode for the 3rd time in a row I now only want to smoke pre embargo rare to find cigars. Although my current budget says I’m only able to smoke black and milds at the moment. 😂
🤣🤣 that black and mild comment got me. I feel ya man. This guy spends more on cigars than most of us will make in a lifetime. I'm planning a vacation around a European cigar auction so i can get my hands on one of those pre-embargos. Might be a couple years out, though.
Thank you so much for watching 3 times! Wow, that's awesome!
Sweet smart guy…….life to be enjoyed!
Absolutely
Great watch, smoking and drinking post embargo cigars and whiskey must just transport you to another world. Would love a tour of his collection. Love the content but I don't know how you top this!
Agreed on all fronts. Would love to try one of his pairings one day. Also, yeah, peaked early, don't know where to go from here other than an actual tour of his humidor in Cambodia
wow just incredible
He's a wealth of knowledge.
Sounds like a cigar boss to me. Great video.
I can't think of anyone else who deserves the title more.
He’s the kind of guy I wish I would run in to just to pick his brain on cigars and whiskey! Great interview! He’s right. What you like is what’s best. Don’t put another stick before what you like just because someone else says it’s “better”.
I've certainly been guilty of that. There are so many great cigar company's out there, it's a shame they all don't get a shot, mostly name brands.
That was pretty cool and interesting... Hope i get to smoke an old cuban someday. Sounds amazing.
Right there with you. I'm looking at the auctions on that website, unfortunately they don't ship to US. Thinking of flying over there for a cigar vacation.
Glad you enjoyed the interview, we have a couple of more very interesting ones coming soon
What a great video, sat here smoking a 2019 HdM thinking if this is a great smoke what must the special stuff be like!! This is the Indiana Jones of the cigar world👌. From the UK 👍
That is absolutely fantastic stick.... but I'm not sure what can hold a candle to the stuff this guy smokes.
Very interesting dude. His mannerisms and the way he talks reminds me quite a lot of Billy Bob Thornton.
I was getting the same vibes too.
This chat was fantastic. This second time I've come to watch it, I find myself thinking - does Frank share a fleeting resemblence with Mitchell Orchant from CGars? Anybody else see it, if Mitch were to ditch the suit and go on holiday? No? Maybe I'm suffering from not having had a cigar in a while; I'll fix that presently! 😅
Second time? Wow! Yeah, i think he's deserving of a second video. Very interesting guy. I'm not sure who Michael Orchant is, I'll have to look into him and CGars
Such an interesting person.
Agreed! He's so secretive too. I'm pretty sure this is the only interview he's ever done.
This was entertaining.
Would love to do a follow up one day
Excellent video and great insights! I'm actually glad to come across this video! Subscribed ! Frank is proper character. Does he have any social media accounts where we can follow his debaucheries? I've been into cigars for the past 3 years and been places and countries for the smoking experiences. Just a tip to anyone going out to purchase a humidor. Always go for the biggest humidor you can afford even if you think that you will only keep a dozen or so cigars. Because soon you'll have to get a bigger humidor for your growing collection ; )
Frank doesn't have any social media that I know of. If he does, he's using pseudonyms.
Couldn't agree more about the humidor. Currently I have 7 that are full to the brim, and never thought the first would run out of room.
so much knowledge! and the questions are spot on! and on a side note, yalls collection is ka-razeeeeeeeeeeeeee! to smoke a cigar with the rod guys in the rod compound is on my bucket list!
I have no doubt you have plenty of unicorns in your collection as well. The question is, will we share a cigar on your set or mine first?

Wow. Speechless. Would love to see or hear about his whisky collection.
I want to know more too. What kind of whiskies can live up to these cigars? He sounds like he's more of a wine guy, but mentioned he has a nice whiskey collection as well.
That was an awesome interview. The way he explains the experience of a vintage cigar and pre-prohibition bourbon makes me really want to experience it as well. Maybe I should sell a kidney. Haha.
I've been thinking the same. I have been browsing the Bond Roberts website for months.
Cmon you gonna need them kidneys if you really want to keep enjoying them bourbons ! NO bueno Sir !🤣
@@astonstiglitz 😂😂😂😂 Nuff said
Great information. You look so young to have been in business so long.
Cigars help with aging. If you look at everyone who works in the cigar industry, they all have tight shiny skin.
Great interview. Certainly for me, who thinks that a sip of Talisker 10 yr, and smoking a cheap Quintero is heaven on earth.
It's only cheap if you don't enjoy it. I've had $150 cigars and $7,000 whiskey, both were massive let downs.
🎉thanks 😢😮I appreciate your help. Know I can finish finding the gold 🥇 I have ❤❤❤❤
What do you have?
I’m fortunate to own both a complete box of the Dunhill Havana Club and the Cohiba 55 Aniversario. The prices are definitely high but worth it if you have a true passion. It was interesting hearing this gentleman’s perspective so thank you for posting this. 12:13
WOW! That is amazing! I'm assuming you do not live state side. Did you get them from Bond Roberts?
@@RepublicofDebauchery I do live in the states but have never received anything using BR. I have different methods I utilize but as you know it’s not easy building a respectable keep especially when residing in the US.

In Jax, they made King Edward cigars that were green they were so fresh. I bought 2 for $.08. I carried Guard Mail and I gave 1 to the bus driver. Good old days.
2 for .08???!!!! WOW! That's pretty crazy. Sounds like some pretty good days. How many people smoked cigars back then?
we would like another interview with Frank to show us his collection
Hopefully we get one at PCA next week. 🙏
I have been saving 2 Davidoff Double R's from 1996. Perfect humidity. I am curious if they will have any flavor when smoked.
I'm curious too. That's a long time to hold cigars. When do you plan on smoking them?
@@RepublicofDebaucherySorry to say, they probably won’t. No time like the present
@@carlchernoff6926 most likely.
Padron Cigars are the best!!
I agree. Old Cubans are damn good,, but yeah, New World cigars are better today than Cubans.
Heading over to phnom penh in January, any recommendations for cigar lounges?
I've never been, it's on the list though. However, the SP Cigar Club Cambodia looks like a very cool spot.
Excellent and insightful. Too bad PCC jacked up the price of Cubans beyond reach for most of us
Yeah, but it's also great from Frank's side, 10x the value of his collection.

I only smoke archeological finds from pre-Columbus Dominican Republic myself, but to each their own
🤣🤣🤣 that sounds like Nick Melillo 🤣🤣
cuban cigar do cost a ton of money in China, and most of the new ones don't smoke as good as the new world cigars, but they do have a collective value, just keep going up.
How much you looking at in China for a box?
❤ Great review and enter for you. I'd like to know how did you really make us money from this engineering degree? Or by buying cigars
That is a good question to ask him the next time we get together.
@RepublicofDebauchery thank you. Pls let me know!!
Are those cigars not passed maturation? I have heard aging is best either between 5-6 years or 15-20 years depending on the level of tannins and woodiness.
I have never heard the Tannins/Woodiness thing before. I will have to look into that. Thank you for teaching me something new. As for the aging. You are correct. Some cigars don't benefit from aging at all and some max out around 20 years. But after that, they still build value for several reasons. Nostalgia; maybe it was someone's first cigar or wedding cigar. Prestige; A cigar that gains popularity for one reason or another. Just like with anything, there are trends.
I'll cash out my IRA and buy pre-embargo Cubans ! Hell of a better return.
Noticed that your DE Coffin humidor is as full as mine. And does a great job. What percentage of Bovida packs are you using in it ?
Good eye man! I use 70% in mine, that wood sucks up a lot of humidity, even after 2 months of seasoning with the 84% packs. What are you using?
@@RepublicofDebauchery I started out with the 84% for like three weeks to season it. Dropped down th 72 % currently.
Where do you live? I just learned places like Connecticut have an RH between 60 and 70%. They find even need humidors, ha ha.
@@RepublicofDebauchery Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. With the temps hitting 100+ and heat index between 110-115. Today's the RH is only 42% outside. With no rain for the next 7 days. Ouch !! LOL...
Yah, that'll definitely dry up that wood. It's got a great seal though, should keep for a while.
I understand this guy clearly had the means to gamble on such vintage smokes, but I’d be pretty pissed if I spent the money such coveted cigars only find out there is nothing left flavor wise
I'm sure there are duds out there, but this guy had the incredible luck to have tried them way before he could afford any himself. Almost no one will ever get the chance to try 100 year old cigars before getting into the hobby of vintage cigars.
holy crap 😳 !!!! no words ❤
Your no words mean more than many words. Thank you very much.
I ve never had a cigar in my life, I am not sure what I am doing here but I found this interview really fun. Tks for sharing
I don't think a greater comment exists. 😃. Glad you found it interesting. Which part do you think hooked you?
I think it’s your sign to try one
Agreed 👍
@@RepublicofDebauchery Well, firstly, I didn't know you should age cigars. Secondly, I had no idea they could go for 3k a pop! I live in South America, so its relatively easy to get them. What would you recommend I should try first? In fact, I found it so fascinating that I am currently learning about their differences. I thank you in advance. Peace

That is a massive collection. How long have you been collection and which is your most prized cigar?
How would you rank him compared to Min Ron Nee? Seems very comparable, no?
If i knew who that was, I'd probably still pick Frank.
What is the name of the Chinese guy that is mentioned? Anyone have additional info on the guy?
His name is Chen Zhi. Or at least that's what one of the other commenters on this video has said. I cannot confirm nor deny at this moment.

China is going through an interesting time. My friend lives over there and says a lot of people who were poor, became rich all of a sudden (mostly farmers who owned land), and have no idea how to spend their money.
The "enigmatic cambodian figure" this former hippy talks about is a little manlet with a babyface only a mother could love and his name is: Chen Zhi. This little Chinese guy purchased (through a "secretive" consortium of investors) Imperial Brands' 50% Habanos stake together with among others Alvin Chau, a convicted Macau gambling mogul hoodlum, who, at the time of the takeover, had strong political connections with all the Chinese government bigwigs as a Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference member. There is a reason why the Chinese tuhao/fuerdai get the majority of all the cigars and why the cigar price rose the way it does. Don't be fooled to think it's mostly bad crop. More $$$ for the Chinese owners.
Damn, this is very interesting. Might have to be the subject of one of our next videos. Can you send some sources and articles my way please Info@republicofdebauchery.com
Dunhill cigarettes are ok
Are they still around?
@RepublicofDebauchery in some capacity, at least.
Interesting. I wish they still made cigars.
@RepublicofDebauchery I agree, I'm sure the cigarettes they make are by far the best a person can find. honestly, I liked them, which is surprising. Being a pipe and cigar person and all...
I heard pipes are harder to light and smoke over cigars. Is that true.
Frank Baroudi is a scammer. Sold me fake Cuban cigars in a fake Cuban cigar box and even included fake free cigars! And now he is an expert?!
When and where was that? Proof?

That's not just this guy. Almost every interview we do, I have to edit out deep breaths and sighs and umms.... it's so much. There's something about being on camera that makes people breath deeper like that. Being on camera is not easy. I appreciate you powering through man. I hope you got something out of it.
The guy doesn't look 65
Right!?
Sorry, that's not Cigar related haha. I just ordered my first legitimate Cigars and am waiting patiently - Perdomo 10th anniversary champagne.
It doesn't have to be cigar related. But your comment actually is. There's something about cigars that keeps skin tighter and more youthful looking.
Also, Perdomo champagne is a great stick. Are you new to cigars?
@@RepublicofDebauchery I have yet to sit down and enjoy a cigar. I just turned 40 and I'm ready to start the journey. I'm getting ready to order some tobacco and roll my own.
