This Dentist mentions fluoride toothpaste…I recommend a video of Dr Nathan Bryan and he discusses how fluoride in our toothpaste and tap water can destroy us. The video is about Nitric Oxide, how our bodies produce it(through the mouth), how fluoride kills all bacteria in the mouth and prevents the production of nitric oxide, and later in life you may have a greater chance of developing Alzheimer’s and other brain diseases

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!
Tim, so much respect to you for creating a video that could potentially deter some from smoking yet is factual and knowledgeable. Shows that you have a lot of consideration for the community. Thank you.
Thanks man. I know I’m personally always a little skeptical about content creators and their intentions behind things. But I’ve worked to keep my focus on creating content that’s helpful to cigar smokers, whether it’s helpful to my brand or not. I really like making videos like these. And I’m even more grateful for people like Dr Fialkoff who are willing to lend an educated insight.
Since I started cigars in January, I have come completely off my heart/BP meds and my doc told me to keep up the good work 🤷♂️. So every day when I go to the lounge, I just tell the wife I’m headed to my daily therapy session. But I have wondered about the mouth stuff so thanks for the vid.
Enjoy your journey into the world of cigars , there's so many to choose from but you eventually find a handful that you'll keep in your humidor all the time.

Navigating the dental landscape as a cigar smoker has long been my teeth-gnashing conundrum. And while I have the utmost respect and loyalty for my dentist, I feel like Doctor Fialkoff drilled down into this smoky subject's nitty-gritty. A tip of the hat to Tim for sparking a conversation that many in the cigar-smoking community will find enlightening, if not game-changing.
Wait a second... you trained in college to be a classical singer??? We def need a video of you singing some Opera or something, maybe for 250k subscribers?
I personally think my cigar interests have helped my dental hygiene. I’m more mindful of brushing and cleaning now. I’m only a cigar or two a week type of guy. I’m willing to bet with good hygiene anyone can have one a week and it would never have a meaningful effect on their health.
@@thathustlengrindlife218you sound just like me. I only smoke 1 or two a week. And it’s outside after the wife and dog have gone to bed. My girls are all grown. But when they were young I did it smoke in their presence.
This was a great idea for video Tim, respect to you for being real and talking to a doctor about the potential issues some of us may or may not have known about and what to be mindful of when smoking cigars.
Thanks man. It’s not everyday you meet a medical professional who is a clear and willing communicator. I’m literally sitting in the lobby of his office right now getting ready for the other half of my teeth scaling. Who knows who I’ll run into next for a great conversation like this one.
9 out of 10! He was a very good sport and his reaction was perfect - loved it. I often think too many in people in the medical profession are too judgemental which really discourages people from engaging more and following up on a more regular basis. We all know if we did x, y, and z that is the absolute best for our physical health, but other things improve our life experiences and often mental health. And well, we are human, we will never be perfect - so I really like it when a health care professional acknowledges that and gives us their best guidance, but without being holier than thou. ps: Cigar smokers should always ask for a Velscope scan annually - it is an early detection test that costs only about $60 and take just a few minutes to look for pre-cursors of oral cancer - oral cancer is extremely rare in handmade cigars smokers, but it is very treatable when detected early and this scan can show signs up to 2 years earlier than just the traditional visual assessment your dentist can do - so I recommend all add it to their dental care routine. Thank you Dr. Shalom Fialkoff for making this video with Tim!
I started smoking cigars just over 2 years ago at 21, and I've always had good dental health to where i never had braces. Because of poor habit and smoking, I noticed my gums were bleeding more and dont smoke often in the winter, but in the summer, it could be 0 - 3 times a week. Because of this amazing, very informative video, I think I will slow down and maybe eventually quit when I am older.
The way that I see it its better to smoke less now (you should probably stop until gums has healed properly) and enjoy for a longer time in your life. Personally when I get really old, which I may or may not (never know) I will hopefully have lived such a good life that If I want to smoke 2/day I wont care about a tooth loss, this may happen anyway.
You mention other poor habits. Wonder what those were? Diet and exercise, hygiene and avoiding processed foods and products in your daily life are VERY overlooked when it comes to health.
I'm a young guy (22). Been smoking cigars for about a year and absolutely love them. Health consequences in both my lungs and mouth have been in my mind and this video really helped clear up some concerns I had. Most dentists will deny any benefits, but oil pulling has been amazing for my mouth pre-cigar smoking. I haven’t tried it since I started smoking cigars about three weeks ago. It also whitens your teeth after you do it for a time.
I experience the opposite of dry mouth when I smoke cigars. My saliva production goes through the roof which based on what the Dr said sounds like a positive thing. He was a sweet guy but still think more study needs to be done on cigars in isolation from cigarettes or alcohol.

I have a feeling the reason cigars dry the mouth out is a similar reason why some full leaf teas do. I'm an avid tea drinker and consuming traditional Chinese teas can do the same because first flush and aged teas contain more tannins in them. It's the tannins that both dry the mouth and stain the teeth as a result of the mouth not having enough saliva. Some tea aficionados will tell you to have a honey stick or small sweet treat after having tannin heavy varieties of tea because the sugars stimulate the mouth into making more saliva. Brushing after is still necessary but is important to get that saliva back in normal range. I've been researching cigars of late because my future husband smokes them and my family is opposed. But all the research I've gathered is quickly telling me the chewing tobacco my family uses is far more hazardous than my fiancé smoking a cigar once a week is 😅
