    so i tested the t598 at the simracing expo and for someone who has never done dd technology or simracing at all, it is currently the best deal (price-performance ratio) as a simracing beginner can make. since my son and i want to dive into the simracing world and start from 0, nothing else comes into question. this year we have saved for the ps5, psvr2 and for a simrig. that's a lot of money and this deal is and remains in my opinion currently the best starter set.

    Its not meant to be a DD Pro killer so no point comparing it to one. Its the budget ps5 DD wheel.

  • @seanh8095

    I’ve had mine for almost a week and I love it! Found some recommended settings for GT7 and I’m really enjoying the experience. I’m coming from a T300 though. I wouldn’t buy it to replace either of the wheel bases noted in ur title, but it’s a great PS5 based DD wheel. I’m running my T-LCMs and love it.

    • @texthemex76
      @texthemex76 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've the same concern... I've a T300 and I want to upgrade it, but I'm afraid to get something than don't get very far from T300 (I also play in ps5 only) could you tell me more about difference between the two wheel base? Have you try it on ACC?

    • @seanh8095
      @seanh8095 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@texthemex76 There are a lot more reviews out now than when I originally commented, so I’d encourage u to check those out. That said, I have no regrets in upgrading from my T300. This base is notably stronger and it doesn’t suffer from FFB loss when it heats up (which it doesn’t do badly anyway). The feedback seems to be near instant, so I catch the car where I would’ve spun out on my T300. There are oscillation issues that can easily be tuned out in the settings, and I’m counting on several improvements when it gains software support. However, it’s a good experience overall. I’ve played ACC a few times and it feels better there too. It’s not as good as it is on PC, but it’s still far better than my T300. The PS5 options are limited, so you’ll have to spend a good bit more to get marginally better performance, so I don’t think u can go wrong with this. I wouldn’t hesitate if it’s in ur budget. I’m happy I got it and I think u will be too.

    I bought one 2 days ago. And now that I'm setup and had some seat time w/it. I'm very impressed. However it's my first DD wheel so I'm not one to make the best judgement I suppose. But man this thing is smooth and responsive and the brake and gas pedals are very nice to me. At 499. Rhis thing is very silent and just all around smooth. I also really like the settings adjustment features on the fly from the wheelbase. I give it a 👍👍 and i havent even tried it on gt7 yet which was the main reason I purchased as my other wheel wasn't officially PS compatible and was a bit glitchy. U think your right about reviewers though. Ive watched them as well. They are high end users and it's not really for them. The base is very sturdy w/quite a bit of weight to it. I am totally satisfied w/my purchase as I'm not wanting anything super high end or more powerful

      @frogboyx1Gaming i would be interested in your opinion though as well since u have had so many variations. Either way I'm satisfied and will be keeping it. One thing the reviewers are right about is the wheel quality. It doesn't feel like much but comfortable to drive with. Its definitely usable, and I will be using it, but at its price that's the area where they saved. Not a big deal for u, as u have other options. The base itself feels around 10lbs. What are the weight on the ones u own approx? Just for comparison as its my 1st DD

    I'm not in the market, as I have a DD Pro and Logitech G Pro, but it's fantastic that TM have introduced this base and wheel.
    My gripe would that the base lacks stabilty fore and aft because of the narrow footprint. I might have that wrong, but its the opposite of the massive G Pro's footprint. The G Pro's width stops it from rocking side to side under heavy stress, which I think is clever.
    I could be proved wrong, and hopefully so, because the community needs more competition at the lower and mid levels of the market. Good old TM has been there from almost the start.

    I bought it day of release. I play on a wheel and pedal stand in front of my 65" lg gx. So i have no visual issues. I play gt7 and EA WRC and it has been amazing. Granted, i came from a t150, but i got it for the entry price. Im a casual sim racer since life with young kids is so busy. But im loving it. • @Frogboyx1gaming

    • @seanh8095
      @seanh8095 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I bought it to upgrade from the T300 and I have no regrets. I’m running my T-LCM pedals so I would’ve preferred to buy the base only, but I’m impatient. This is far more powerful and I don’t lose FFB when it heats up (which it doesn’t really do). I’ve ordered a quick release adapter for my open wheel, but the bundled wheel is not horrible, so I’ll use it for drifting and rallying, so no loss there. In other words, I won’t discourage u from waiting, but I won’t discourage u from not waiting either. It’s a worthwhile purchase for any PS console racer and I think you’ll have no regrets.

  • @GregoryShtevensh
    @GregoryShtevensh 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Absolutely. Its not an 8nm base and anyome buying it for that may be disappointed. Overshoot and peak.. All I can say is don't buy this expecting an upto 10nm experience (unlile the gt dd pro that truly is an 8nm peak base)

    • @danceoffAsh
      @danceoffAsh 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually run my Moza R9 at around 50 to 60% FFB for the most part and still pretty satisfied with it. So this 5nm with 10nm overshoot will pretty much be similar if not better and is PS5 supported.

    • @GregoryShtevensh
      @GregoryShtevensh 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@danceoffAsh ill turn down my 15nm Alpha for drift but not for race cars. Only in game gain if needed. For manual cars with round wheel I usually cap the base at 8.5nm. At about 60% you'll use most of that range but only cars with high grip, or intense moments really go beyond 5nm.
      I personally wouldn't want to go below the R12 or maybe the Alpha mini. The GT DD pro just hasn't quite got enough for my liking. But around 10nm its enough for GT cars, and with some fime tuning, sure I reckon 9nm should give you what you need to be consistent.
      Just that for that feeling of really taking a corner at speed, and feeling that transition of grip gradually, I like the Alphas range when it comes to that

    You have little understanding about the value the wheelbase offers. Once the next offerings with the cost restraint is unlocked the Axial flux Printed Stator motors will destroy everything on the market. The T598 was a way to commercialize the technology and introduce it to the market. The competition is all ready jumping that way. Just gonna take 3-4 years to have an offering.
    When the have 10+ newton meter offerings are gonna be bonkers. Remember with technology it has unlimited software function vs current technology.

    Tbh i would never buy one over those two options. Its just not good from what everyone ive talked to has said. First it doesn't hsve seperation between details. The loading and unloading feel isn't as good. Its just not right the ffb implementation. Something is off and thrustmaster released the t818 feeling amazing so it's very clear the wheelbase and motor is the issue. The new motor was just them finding a way to reduce cost in manu and make a cheaper dd motor but in turn it made it worse imo.
