What up frog? What up doc? I started out on console, went to PC back to console now. Making my way back to PC one thing I noticed about playing Halo infinite on PC versus console is that I felt a lot more input lag on console I noticed this before but I noticed it even more now seeing how I play a lot of competitive games, I want that edge now that most games are cross-platform I find you're just at more of a disadvantage on the console versus the PC looking better is one thing but when it comes to performing better. That's where I will go!

I think your right..this maybe the last chance for us to really get a high end gpu. Im thinking gpus will be out of gamers price range. Consoles will look very good over the coming years...gosh i hate even thinking this. Maybe even consoles go up in pricing. I wouldnt be suprised to see even a 50 percent markup on gpus...they did it already last gen and AMD will follow.

Dude making me feel bad that I kept my 4080 super and sold my 4070ti super lol. Ow well that's how technology works man always buy something and half year later they rub it in your face how the next new thing is light years ahead haha. So although I do regret spending so much on my graphics card at the end of the day there is much worse things I could have blown the money on and makes me feel good that I have something to show for my money spent and believe it's going to be a solid GPU overall fir a few years especially if they get better technology with with DLSS and Framegen etc you know.

🤣Same thing as me Frog! I'm addicted to buying games & so many different games i've tried. I defo have a problem because I'll buy a game try it and then wanna play another game and it's very hard for me to finish games with my focus going elsewhere! The only games I've been able to play and finish mostly are the Assassin's creed games this last year and this year Final Fantasy and Forspoken amongst others I did also but takes me ages man, I took a break and then went back to it to finish it Also like you SAY Ray tracing on Nvidia is only a little advantage in a handful of games yet i'm still able to use it on my XTX and games look great! Assassins creed all look great at native no upscaling needed on AMD, Odyssey, Valhalla i've played most recently. beautiful looking games amongst others with FSR 3 now on new titles Avatar etc AMD does fine

Given what we have seen in the past from all manufacturers the past several generations. The rtx 5080 isn't going to be as fast as people think, it's not going to be a huge leap in real world gaming performance, from a current rtx 4080 or 4080 super. It will probably excel more at Ai / ray tracing though I would certainly expect. Look at an example even from a rtx 3080ti to a regular rtx 4080, it wasn't a huge leap in performance. The 3080ti version which has 12gb vram is still a good gpu as of now. That being said I think the 5080 would be a good upgrade path if you were still on a 3080/3080ti. I think its going to be the same this time around again, the 5090 will have the significant gap over the others under its belt so to speak. The 5090 should be a killer gpu, but even then I still think its going to take until 2 gens from now on the 6000 series where we can really see those gpus shine on Unreal Engine 5.

I remember looking at CPU gains before and the biggest difference is at 1080p... but if you're gaming at 4K it's actually not much of a difference, very minimal like 5fps or bit more depending on the game

Yeah man I'm staying mid-tier I don't believe that you have to spend a lot of money now to get experience that is good enough for me I have a 2080 super what does 7700 X this processor has made my graphics card so much better and I do know that because I have am4 computer to so I'm perfectly fine staying mid-tier it's all about the hype it's like a pair of Jordans all you need is shoes on your feet the 2080 plays my games just fine in 1440p I just get a 16 gig card next in I will be good don't fall for the hype people just get what you need keep your money in your pocket

I found a new lead on that a%$ hole who recommended a 3050ti laptop over a 6800xt desktop. We'll find him Frog..his running out of places to hide.

You can say this every year. Im tellig you dude when a card gives you issues. Rma it, or get a new one. Its not normal the issues yku have had. You should know by now due to comments. Your card also under performs comoared to what it should. Also if you didnt use that dang beta for so long it wouldnt have left such a sour taste in your mouth. Regardless I would say get another one test it and see the type of issues it has or doesnt have. It may surprise you. Im just suprised sitting here with a 4070 super getting the performance you are and without a single hitch. Ive had legit 0 issues and its out perfoming the 3090 especially with ray tracing and of course with dlss3.

Btw..if you want to do ai things like chatgpt, stable diffusion, or photogrametry programs like meshroom (where you can replicate environments from pics/vids) locally on your home pc, you will benefit from cudas parallel processing......no more time for games.

The tech doesn't make the channel, the person does. Just look at jinxie ( I know I spelt it wrong ) that dude uses green screen strapped to his chair streams his Xbox, still uses TH-cam with adds and all at 1080P and he's #1 streamer on twitch. Why is that ? It's because of him, people tune in for him, not what he streams with.

It's a waste of money, AI does not work Natively on Desktop cause the processors are not made for AI which need a NPU with a Minimum of 40 Tops, That's why the only processors marketed for AI are laptops with the AMD AI 300 which has 50 Tops and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X with 45 Tops, if you want to get into AI you need a Laptop with these processors or wait for AMD and Intel to release a AI CPU which includes a NPU or Neural Proccesing Unit for desktop with over 40 Tops. Intel is releasing their Ultra CPUs with NPU in it with 30 Tops, but it's already looking grim for Intel cause if you want top AI performance, you need a minimum of 40 Tops.

Dont get me wrong, its your money, buy what u want. But, in my opinion, RT doesnt look better, just different for a huge performance impact. PT looks nice (mostly), but even the 4090 cant handle it without fake frames and upscalers. THUS, the past, current and probably next 2 gens wont be able to properly utilize path tracing. Bringing us back to raster, where AMD is just way better value overall+ offers more longevity adding more VRAM. I play in 1440p always native res and I wont use FG or any upscaling so I dont care, but I understand that people do. On 4k res it literally doesnt matter which upscaler u use. But the thing is that Nvidia will most likely make the new features of the next gen exclusive to the 50 series, as it happened with the previous gens already. So Idk, it just feels like ur on the short end overall in terms of raster perfomance, cause all u payed the increased price for is alpha state features or temporary features which will be obsolete with the next gen..

I agree the 4080 and 4080 Super are just too expensive for what you get (die size, memory and bus size, cores and performance vs the 4090). To me this is still a $799 GPU. Every penny beyond is corporate greed from Nvidia or failure to build it cheaply enough. I'll occasionally bid $799 on ebay for a lightly used or open box 4080 til someone agrees. If no one bites, I'll wait to see what the 5080 does.

For me, I went with Nvidia because the edge dlss has over fsr. Yeah in some games the difference isn't all that much as long as fsr is on quality mode I can definitely see that DLSS has a pretty big advantage when you go lower with the base resolution I'm using a 65in tv so I want the best image I can get cause that's hard to hide on such a big tv lol

Good vid frog….can confirm 4070 ti super is a beast….mid to high end PC’s are great as long as people understand the diminishing returns for the money the higher you go up the stack. 500-600 bucks starting out will get you great performance and the higher you go you get slightly more performance and the vram will keep you from needing to upgrade for a while. I think that’s why they priced them so damn high lol

Great choice. I have been using the lg c2 42” as my main and I love it. For those who play with controller it makes sense since the ideal viewing distance is 33 inches. 48+fps is playable with single player games. 90+fps is good for competitive games, in my experience. I think hdr looks better than ray tracing if I had to choose one (which I do not have the luxury of choosing ray tracing 🤣).

I want to see how game benchmarks will compare to the 7800x3d now for the 9000 and the fact that the new 870 boards will have a different chipset to take advantage of higher memory speeds will through another variable into the mix.

When I was shopping/researching around for my new build I noticed that unless you are someone who wants to take nice pretty pictures using RT then sure go ahead and pay more for the Nvidia cards but when purely gaming you don't really take the time to look at reflections in a water puddle or far away windows, you look at your character and play the game. For this reason I went with the Radeon Rx 7900xtx over the NVidia 4080 super. When I play games I could care less about reflections, I want the games to look good sure but not to the point that it slows down to barely unplayable. People are making way too much hype for Ray Tracing when it's not really up to par yet, hell even the mighty 4090 has a hard time pushing above 80 FPS with RT on on many games. So unless you have money that is falling from you pockets and have no idea what to do with it.. then sure go ahead and over spend for the NVidia cards, otherwise for the rest of us humble folks just get the best card you can get for the money and that "usually" is the AMD Radeons counterparts. Oh and no I'm not a fan boy. I just like to get the most for my money. I do have a Nvidia card on my other pc.

I’ve been using my 42 inch on my desk for around a year now and while I love it some times it’s just too big. 32 inches is the sweet spot, I’m currently trying the new Alienware qd oled and have the lg 32 oled preordered so one of those will replace my c2

Froggy is right! I upgraded from a 5900X to a 7950X3D and it wasn't a big enough difference as ppl like to make out. At 1080p is the most gains but I game at 4K and it's minimal difference Of course it gets you more FPS but not enough if you consider the cost to upgrade the motherboard as well as memory and CPU The truth is you will get a small minimal gain in FPS but not enough too worry about upgrading each time a new CPU comes out. Of course it depends on how out of date you are but upgrading so close from a previous generation is more work and money than gain i'd advise The biggest gains are usually with a new GPU, but it all depends really if that performance is warranted for the price we will need to pay to upgrade. The RYZEN 9000X has just launched but I won't even think about looking until at least the X3D Ryzen chips come out a lot later Benchmarks and tests on youtube i'll check out around that time to see if worth it, same for the next AMD GPUS Actually the main reason I changed to the 7950X3D from the 5900X was for the AM5 motherboard, just get it out the way! So I don't have to change the motherboard again in the near future if wanna upgrade the CPU or RAM. AM4 still being supported but I think it's worth changing to AM5 now as it's less work

I've had my PC on an LG C1 every since they first came out. I wouldnt wanna run a PC monitor at all, there is just no going back once you are used to 4k.

I use 3070ti laptop and get 70min mostly 120fbs-240fbs easily 1440p or higher so dont worry to much

Playing the PC indie game Solaco yesterday sold me on PC gaming due to the vast array of options available on PC. The gun sight was too large on screen and I was able to not only make it much smaller but change the color to red, making the sight look alot like what I use in Battlefield games. Console games just can't match the options on PC.

They are still planning launches for AM4, but I'm hoping not having to upgrade within 5 years with my 5800x3D+7900xtx nitro+ combo. The 3d v-cache and the massive VRAM have to carry :)

HEY frog I knew it was worth staying on the AM4 platform AMD just announced the 5900XT with 16 cores 32 threads. Am waiting to see the performance gains. But if they are substantial enough I will just upgrade the 5900 x to that. It shows that the 5900x is still relevant despite what some in your community have been telling you. It should be a decent upgrade with the extra cores. if it beats the 5950x and the 5800x3d in performance i will be sold. But that's a big if. We'll see. But I knew AMD wasn't done with AM4. Here's hoping for 5900xt3D 😂
