If anyone of you have the issues with L-Connect 3 app, below are some troubleshooting steps Basic Troubleshooting steps Disclaimer : Though the chances are very low to brick firmware updates on motherboard and to any controllers. I will not be responsible if you have brick your motherboard or controller. 1) Make sure your motherboard bios is up to date, please check on your motherboard manufacture website, under support > bios and drivers. See if there are issues with USB and do they have a fix. If there are, kindly update those bios firmware version. 2) Make sure your chipset driver for your motherboard is up to date! For AMD will be at www.amd.com/en/support for Intel will be Intel Driver & Support Assistant Intel DSA www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html 3) Remove all argb apps (Asus Armory Crate / MSI Dragon Center / Giga Fusion / Asrock Polychrome). If the brands which I have mentioned, do have a uninstall tool like the Asus Armory Crate, use that, else use Revo uninstaller ( www.revouninstaller.com/ ). Revo uninstaller will remove all unwanted files / folder / registry in your system. Illustration to use revo uninstaller th-cam.com/video/uMgUYiakpxM/w-d-xo.html 4) Shutdown your PC, unplug the PSU cable from your AC outlet. Press the power switch twice to discharge all current that your motherboard is holding. Leave it for 45 second 5) While waiting, please do not use KVM switches. Disconnect all devices that are connected to your motherboard (front / back IO). Leave only your Keyboard, Mouse , Monitor and Ethernet (If you have) connected directly to your motherboard. If your monitor has a KVM build-in, remove the USB cable from your monitor to your motherboard USB socket. If your mouse and keyboard are connected to your monitor, please remove them and plug them directly to your motherboard instead. 6) Plug only one Uni controller or Strimer Plus V2 controller. If its for Uni Fan (SL/AL) use only 3 fans to an output of the uni controller. 7) Plug the power cable and turn on your PC 8) Go to your Device Manager, look under Universal Serial Bus Devices, make sure you see the Lian Li uni / strimer plus V2 controller. 9) Install the L-Connect 3 app only lian-li.com/l-connect3/ (current version 1.3.16) 10) After installation, run L-Connect 3, check under Setting > General > make sure Auto-Run on Boot and Minimized L-Connect 3 to system tray at close are ON. 11) Reboot your system. 12) First thing you need, go to device manager and see if the Lian Li controller is listed, next open up the L-Connect 3 app. Check if there is a need to update firmware to your controller. Go to Settings > Update, under Device F/W version, click on Update Check, download and install the firmware. Make sure the firmware is completed. Do a check on device manager and make sure the Lian Li controller is listed. 13) On L-Connect 3 dashboard, check if the CPU and GPU readings are reacting, you might want to test it using some benchmark programs. If there are reaction, play with the PWM and argb functions. If it does not work, skip step 14) and proceed step 16) 14) If Single controller works, shutdown your pc, connect uni fan set of 3 to your output of your uni controller. Do it small steps at a time to hook up your sets of fans. do not do all in one go. If successful and you have a second controller, proceed small step at a time again. 15) Slowly plug back your USB devices (Headset, Microphone, Printer, USB Capture Card and etc). At any point of time as you add those devices one at a time, if L-Connect 3 become unresponsive. This tells you that there power is insufficient to power up more USB Devices. Whatever USB port on your motherboard, there is a limitation as the current are shared across the board, be it front or back I/O and the internal USB Header. You might need to get a Internal USB Hub that comes with a Sata Power source to the Internal USB Hub. (Disclaimer, buying a internal usb hub might or might not resolve this issue, purchase at your own expenses) 16) If it does not work, report your issues to Lian li Tech Support. There is a in build log ticketing system in L-Connect 3 app. this is what you need to do. Go to Settings > Support > Click on “Download log” place a filename and choose a destination drive to save the log file. Next click on “Report” it will take you to Lian Li Tech Support FAQ. Fill up the form and upload the log which is a zip file.
Eventually LL will get over these teething problems but they need to do it quickly, they're making such great products but these sort of problems scare off buyers that are not power users. After having to update my firmware for L2 for my no-mark SL controller with Ene ISP Tool, I was impressed that L3 updated straight to the latest firmware rather than having to manually flash the controller like before avoiding alot of the risk of bricking it but it really should've been implemented that way earlier. I already know a friend who has put LL in the "too hard" basket and gone back to Corsair which is a shame because theres likely alot of other users out there like that but its great to see them slowly getting it together.
@@xZephYx Hello and welcome back. I partially agree with you. Not everyone is tech savy, in that case, it would be best to engage a SI to do the build. If wanting to build a PC, these are the challenges, not everything is perfect. I did have a fair share or problems but had it narrow down and resolved it. going through the pain with Lian Li tech support via email. nevertheless I got my issues fix. Now as what you have mentioned, I totally agree with you. Maybe should release beta testing on the L-Connect 3 to the public, instead of just 30 person. As you can't be sure those 30 person will give feedbacks or providing issues, globally it does. This will help consolidate the errors and to prepare a better application before releasing it.

I have watched other videos on these fans, but none talk about the safety operation. On top of it every single details you've mentioned is what we wanted to know. Thank you Kleo. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I like Lian LI products. Since 2020, i bought: The 011 dynamic XL, 2 days ago i changed to the o11 dynamic evo. I own 10 SL Uni 120mm fans, 2 140 uni fans, galahad aio, 6 sl infinity fans. I'm a tad disappointed with the EVO 011, motherboard stand off didn't align with an E-ATX Z790 gigabyte master mounting holes by a tad. i had to push the edge of mainboard to align and the opening for the cpu back plate is not fully open. Meaning if you change a cpu cooler the main board has to come out.

Hi CobraCoded, welcome to my channel. the cooling depends on which cooler you are using. as for static pressure, first will be the Uni fan P28, follow by the AL120 V2 and this which is the SL-Inf 120.
Thanks for a good in depth review of the infinity fans. Going to buy 3, 3pk and a single fan very soon so that i can put 10 fans in total in my new Lian Li O11D EVO 😍👍

10:40 Thanks for the warnings. We would not think about these things. I do love the infinity fans, but they need to be used in the right place. For me the AL fans are better, stylish, discreet, yet still there. The only issue I have with the L-connect software, and the only reason I still use the MSI mobo controls is that there is no temperature setting for the lighting effects. I use the lights as a discreet warning system if my CPU gets too warm. So Green is cool... yellow is warm and red is Hot. It would be great if Lian Li added this functionality to an otherwise superb product.
Hi Julie, welcome back and thanks for your valuble feedback and you do have a point there. it will be nice if they do have the feature on the LEDs that act accordingly to the CPU temperature.
Thank you for the very comprehensive video! at 5:40 you mention switching to motherboard mode. At that point, can we uninstall L-Connect? Does the "use the motherboard mode" setting persist across shutdowns/reboots or does it need to be set every single boot? Thanks!
Hi Tz2001, welcome to my channel as these uni fan heavily depends on their uni controller, you can't just switch and uninstall the L-Connect 3 app. so sorry about this.

The load current is one thing but generally a machanical devices will also have a startup current. Thiis ka always higher then max operating current. So please factor that in.
Hello Down Under Garage, welcome to my channel. Once again, thank you to have vist and pardon me of the ignorance.
Hi Rafael A Rodriguez Estronza, welcome to my channel. I have no idea the actual name for it as you can't get this cable individually. It comes with the 3 fan pack set.
Awesome video, Kleo - answered almost all my questions! 1) when you use the 7-pin splitter to add a back fan to the channel as three others, does the controller recognize it as a 4th fan, or is it basically treated as a "duplicate" (e.g. for something like Runway Sync)? If the former, that's a huge win. If the latter, it's a missed opportunity. 2) have you tested out any software to control the fans, either with the controller or from the ARGB header directly (like signalRGB or OpenRGB)? If so, do you have a recommendation on ones that work? 3) how many LEDs total on each fan? Overall, I think these fans look absolutely beautiful. It is unfortunate that the new connector is proprietary and doesn't allow one to use the controller for RGB and the mobo for direct fan control. Perhaps a new accessory cable pack is planned (who knows?!). Also, it's unfortunate the white fans still ship with cables with black wire and sleeves (for those with white builds). It's small things like this that can turn the dial to 11, but I guess that's something easily remedied with some white braided loom (if you can find it) and white electrical tape.
HI LJR, welcome to my channel, let me try to answer most of your questions. Q1) when you use the 7-pin splitter to add a back fan to the channel as three others, does the controller recognize it as a 4th fan, or is it basically treated as a "duplicate" (e.g. for something like Runway Sync)? If the former, that's a huge win. If the latter, it's a missed opportunity. A1) nope it will recognizes your rear fan as individual. therefore it breaks the rgb flow. Q2) have you tested out any software to control the fans, either with the controller or from the ARGB header directly (like signalRGB or OpenRGB)? If so, do you have a recommendation on ones that work? I have not tested with other application but I heard they are good. You can give it a try, and if you are connecting it directly to your motherboard, do make sure to check the ampere specification of your motherboard and to do the calculations on how many fans can you daisy chain. 3) how many LEDs total on each fan? Based on the Media Kit provided by Lian Li for my open view. Each SL Infinity 120 features a total of 40 fully addressable LEDs for maximum brightness. Kindly note that if you get an individual pack, it has the cable for connecting it directly to your motherboard argb and fan header. I have spoken of it in this video. Hope all these answer to your questions and all the best with your build.
Another insightful video my friend. The controller that comes with the 3 fans is a proprietary connection? I'm still not sure what to get. These Lian Li SL Infinity fans or the Light Wings. Any chance of a comparison on performance and noise especially? PS It seems that Lian Li has a lot of hartdware/software issues.
Hello Be Mindful, if you get the single pack, you can use them directly to your motherboard fan and argb header, the only issue is, you need to get splitters for both. Also you have to be careful on the limits as try not to connect 4 fans to the a fan header or argb header to the motherboard. As for the Light wing fans. Let me see what I can do to do the comparison and to do the airflow test. As for the L-Connect 3 issues. I have pin up a comment for some basic troubleshooting guide to fix it. Hopefully this will help majority of the people having this issue.
@@KleoYan The aim is to buy 3x triple packs and maybe one single pack for the rear side as exhaust, so the controllers will come in handy. And like you explained, one 4 fans are ok to use as a chain. Great video! I have a total of 11 infinity fans on one controller. My fan header on my motherboard is 1amp only. I believe I'm exceeding the max current for the mobo fan header. Should I install another controller and attach it to a separate fan header? And then put 6 fans on one controller and 5 on the other controller?
Hi Lance Snead, welcome to my channel. If you are using the uni controller to plug your fans, you do not have to worry as the power drawn of your fans are from the controller. Unless you do not use the controller but to plug your fans directly to the motherboard. In your case, I believe you are using the controller which draws power directly from your PSU and not from your motherboard fan header.

I don't think is a good idea to use AL on your controllers with them daisy chain. Great video, thank you! So... there' isn't a safe way to connect a total of 9 fans on 2 argb headers on a motherboard. I really don't wanna use the fan controller/software. I'm basically having a 3x3 fans setup (O11 Dynamic, 3 on top, 3 on backside, 3 on bottom), so i could only connect 3 fans on one argb header and the other 6 (2x3) on the other because of the daisychain nature of these fans (having a stack of 3 with only one argb cable). Hello Contaminated, welcome to my channel. you are absolutely correct by doing so, as the argb load of these fans are high but it's safe to connect the way you did. that's really good. once again thank you for your visit and to share your method on connecting these fans directly to your motherboard. 👍
Hello wastedspace, welcome to my channel. how many controller are you using and are you using any KVM switches, like monitor kvm? if you are, that might be the issue of the freeze, sames goes to too many USB devices plug in your system or too many controller but not using proper powered usb hub spliter. you might want to watch this which gives you some idea why your system is freezing. th-cam.com/video/CgvuUFeff8U/w-d-xo.html
Great video thank you for making it. When connecting the cable to the fans the cable connection has a cap on it that can be removed so you can change the orientation of the cable. Noticed that the center mirror is not even centered it wobbles when spinning LOL!!!!! Looks cheesy So did they steal the design from the Antec Infinity Mirror fans or the Zalman ZM-IF120 fans?
Hi Jose Davila, welcome back, I still have not forgotten your question about the Light wing 3. Will be doing that in further vids. As what you’ve mentioned about these fans, yes it’s pack with features as for the center mirror. Looking at it while doing the video. Yes one or two might get offset but give and take regardless if you are viewing from far. As for the infinity mirror on other fans. I have yet to see how they look like. I wouldn’t say is a steal. Is just like fashion. Back in the sixties, there are bell bottom pants and till date, there are still designs on them. Nevertheless thank you to have visit and to have given feedbacks 😉

Re: Infinity 120. Just bought a 3-pack and 4 X single fans. And the strimerr (24-pin+8-pin) with the V2 controller. Qn 1: Shld the strimer controller be on a separate header? Or can it be connected to the main controller hub? (Sync 4 or Sync 5)? Can the app distinguish/recognize between the strimmer and the fans with regards to lighting effect? Yes, I noted from your other vids that shld give sata power to the Strimer V2 hub and ensure overall usb power consumption is still within limit for the motherboard with other usb devices. And another 3 x fans to port 2 at the controller hub and also connect the hub to a fan header. Can I, at the app/L-Connect 3, transfer the power/pwm to the motherboard? And correct to say my motherboard will recognize all 6 as a single "unit"? Which means if I want the 3 fans and the other 3 fans to have their own separate fan curve, I will need to 2 controllers - to 2 seperate fan headers? :)

Can the app distinguish/recognize between the strimmer and the fans with regards to lighting effect? Ans1 : For Strimer plus V2, plug the strips to the controller and plug the usb cable from the controller to your motherboard, please dont forget to plug the sata power to the strimer plus v2 controller. you can ignore the argb cable to your motherboard, unless you want to control the argb effects from your motherboard argb application. the L-Connect 3 app will only show the strimer plus v2 dashboard if you use the strimer plus v2 controller. Kindly do not use the uni fan controller for your strimer plus v2, it will not work Qn2: I prefer to have the fans on a curve at bios/uefi instead of software (L-connect). @@KleoYan on qn 1: In your other video, you are able to connect the strimer plus controller to the main controller hub.. you are saying we cannot do it for the Strimer V2 Controller into the Infinity Controller Hub (that comes with the 3-pack) ie: into one of the top 2 ports (Sync 4 or Sync 5) using a converter/adapter SM3 female?
I was confused when you said this is the front and this is the back of the fan. You said front was the side with sticker center and the 4 curved support beams, and you said this is the back was the side with totally exposed fan and infinity center. I would say that the side with exposed fan and infinity center is the FRONT side of the fan.
hello Why so serious, welcome to my channel. Subjective on this, you see for me the front is drawing or pulling air in and for the back is pushing the air in. Example, a vehicle front is where you pull to move the vehicle (At neutral gearl) and push at the back. you can argue as in the other way round, where by the front (which i mentioned) is exhuasting air which in your way is the back and back (which i mentioned) is pushing air in which your way is the font.

@@lain1178 you can do either both. For controller you need to get a triple back. For direct connection to the motherboard, you will need to get the single pack. Not sure if you have done this before or have interest in the topic but will you review the different m2 ssd heatsinks sometime in the future? I bought the msi z690 force recently and found the temperature of the SSD much higher than when I was using the x570 system. Not sure if a 3rd party heatsink will help.
Hi Yaoz, based on experience. So long your m.2 does not hit 55 degrees. You should be fine if it’s above 58 to 60. Then you should be worrying. Btw which gen m.2 are you using? For me I just use the amour plate that comes with my ASRock x570 taichi board. There are also other factors that might cause heat. Case airflow is one of them.
I'm using the gen 4 SSD (WD SN770). I think the controller goes as high as 67C based on the hwinfo64 readings and it is not even my main drive (currently it's below my GPU). The firecuda 530 (my main drive) under load is still below 60 (above GPU m2 ssd slot). Not sure of the reason as I currently have 3 140mm intakes running at 1k rpm on a phanteks p500a case.🤔
@@Mew77778 hi ok now I see what’s the issue. I use to have this issue when my rtx 3080 is right above my 2nd m.2 slot in a lancool II case. Then I place two fans at the bottom of the case and it improves. You see when you are gaming or so. Your gpu will generate heat and the heat from the bottom hits the motherboard armour plate. Therefore causing heat to accumulate. Try to see if you can place two 120mm fans or to vertically mount your gpu. That will help.

Hello Adam Cramer. Welcome to my channel. You might want to try the steps below. Best to do from the very basic up. Basic Troubleshooting steps Disclaimer : Though the chances are very low to brick firmware updates on motherboard and to any controllers. I will not be responsible if you have brick your motherboard or controller. 1) Remove all argb apps (Asus Armory Crate / MSI Dragon Center / Giga Fusion / Asrock Polychrome). If the brands which I have mentioned, do have a uninstall tool like the Asus Armory Crate, use that, else use Revo uninstaller ( www.revouninstaller.com/ ). Revo uninstaller will remove all unwanted files / folder / registry in your system. Illustration to use revo uninstaller th-cam.com/video/uMgUYiakpxM/w-d-xo.html 2) Make sure your motherboard bios is up to date, please check on your motherboard manufacture website, under support > bios and drivers. See if there are issues with USB and do they have a fix. If there are, kindly update those bios firmware version. 3) Make sure your chipset driver for your motherboard is up to date! For AMD will be at www.amd.com/en/support for Intel will be Intel Driver & Support Assistant Intel DSA www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html 4) Shutdown your PC, unplug the PSU cable from your AC outlet. Here is another video explaining how L-Connect 3 should be in order to have it work perfectly. th-cam.com/video/CgvuUFeff8U/w-d-xo.html
Hello Rusty Waldron, welcome to my channel. If your motherboard does not have those argb or rgb header. You can plug only the usb and sata to your uni controller. Make use of L-connect application to control the argb effects.
@@rewalston hi. You should not use those, Infact you can’t plug the 3pin argb connector to it. Plus those rgb header on your motherboard are 12volts and not 5volts. As mentioned plug only the usb cable and the sata cable to the contoller and make use of the L-Connect 3 app. You will be fine 😉
Hey Kleo very nice videos I am glad i found your channel. I would have a question for my future build. I am planning to use a arctic liquid freezer II 360 aio or a be quiet silent loop 2 360 aio with 3 lian li sl infinity 120. I heard that it would be better to have the fans of the aio directly connected to the mainboard. But i am not sure how I will be able to do that wit the lian li fans. I can connect all 3 of them with the 7 pin cable to the hub but can I also use the cable form the one pack to connect all 3 fans together to the mainboard? Or is it only possible to connect all 3 together with the 7 pin cable? And if I can only use the 7 pin cable what advice would you give me to connect all 3 aio fans to the mainboard? It would be also great if you could give me your opinion on which aio I should take. Do you prefer the arctic liquid freezer II or the be quiet silent loop 2? Thank you very much
Hello nickelback96, welcome to my channel. Either AIO will work. infact I am more infavor of Arctic Liquid Freezer II due to the thick radiator but make sure that your case do fit a thick radiator with fans and also to consider the top mounting clearance (the side vrm heatsink and the rear I/O shroud) If you intend to replace fans from the liquid AIO, I would do this. I will use the individual pack cables where you can connect your fans (PWM) directly to the motherboard CPU_FAN and the argb to the SL Infinity controller Sync 2 or Sync 4. the rest of the SL infinity fans, just use the 7pin cables directly to the SL Inifinity controller port 1 to 4. Please note that for Sync 2 to work, you need Port 2 to be filled and for Sync 4 to work, you need Port 4 to be filled.
@@KleoYan Thank you very much for your fast answer! Yeah i will use the Lian Li dynamic evo, so the arctic liquid freezer II should work. I am not sure if i get your instructions right. Can I use only one idividual pack cable to connect all three aio fans to the motherboard? And what do you exactly mean with Sync 2 and Port 2 or Sync 4 and Port 4? Sorry I am a bit new to that topics.
@@batenickelback96 Hi I see, if you look at your uni controller. There are total of 6 port, which 4 of them are labeled as 1 to 4 (7pin socket) and 2 are labeled as sync 2 and sync 4 (3pin socket). As I have mentioned to you, for your radiator fans, use the SL Inf 120 individual pack where the cable is split to 4pin (pwm) and 3pin (argb). Connect the 4pin to your motherboard fan header (CPU_FAN) then the 3pin to the uni controller Sync 2 or 4. This way, you control the PWM using the motherboard instead of the uni controller and control the argb using the L-Connect 3. and to control the argb in L-Connect 3. You will need to have fans connected to port 2 which sync 2 will response to / port 4 which sync 4 will response to. For the rest of your SL Inf 120 (case fans), use the 7pin cable to connect from the fans to the uni controller. So both PWM and ARGB is controlled by the uni controller using L-Connect 3. As why doing this. In the event if the uni contoller malfunction. The radiator fans will only affect the argb effects but not stopping the fans from spinning accordingly to your motherboard pwm settings. This is just a safety measure.
Great video! I bought 2 x 3 pack and 3 x single pack. Can the 3 x single pack connect to the uni controller? Also, will it work with 2 controllers? I have other RGB items EKWB FLT 360, LED in the front case of EVO, and my 3080 hydrocopper. Can those items connect to the controller and be controlled with L connect 3? Would love to see a video to connect other RGB items to this new controller and see if L Connect can control those RGB
Hello Dawson Nguyen, welcome to my channel, there four cables that come with the 3 set pack where you can daisy chain the individual pack (make sure is up to 4 fans and not more), then use the cable that is with your 3 set pack to connect it to the infinity controller. as for other argb connection. Yes you can use two infinity controller but you need enough sata source as each controller needs 2 sata source. Also, you will need another USB Header from your motherboard. I see what I can do on my next video. As currently busy at work. once again thank you to have visit and to leave your valuable feedback.
@@dawsonnguyen7259 you are most welcome, if you do have time, have a look at the video on the dos and donts of these uni controller. though the dos and donts are based on the SL uni controller, they apply the same concept with their AL and this Infinity controllers. you can find that video in this playliste th-cam.com/play/PLEW-b-2vYDdPo0NzHyeksx012c-nkDapm.html
Hello Math, welcome to my channel. It greatly depends on you. Both will work, the only difference is, with a 3 pack set, you have the controller which make use of L-Connect 3 app. If individual, you will need to hook those fans to your motherboard and to control by your motherboard argb app.

Hello Kleo. I was also on that L-Connect 3 beta program. Now I'm looking to mix my Uni Fans SL120 with the SL Infinity. Do you have in mind if is it possible to use the 3-pin adapter to L-Connect plug to connect the SL Infinity (single pack) into the L-Connect 3? I want to start with only two Infinity fans connected on my system mixed with mine Uni Fans SL120. Thanks for the video and any help you can share.
Hi Multiverse, welcome to my channel, if you are thinking to connect the SL Inifinity fans (individual set) to the SL uni controller, that will not work. though is of a JST03 socket, the issue is.. the controller has a chip that will only reflect as SL on L-Connect 3. It will not recognise the SL Infinity which will show in L-Connect 3 app. This video will explain more th-cam.com/video/CgvuUFeff8U/w-d-xo.html
hi, welcome back, if it's strimer plus v1, yes you can.. but for strimer plus V2, you can too but it defeat the purpose as the L-Connect 3 app has more argb effects to play with, thats why the Strimer Plus V2 has a new controller that enable you to plug the USB cable between the controller to your motherboard. example here of the Strimer Plus V2 th-cam.com/video/uWNZO2HVgxE/w-d-xo.html
Hi SanteeNL, welcome to my channel. Yes they are insanely good hahha. Far more better as compared to the AL and SL, in terms of it’s flexibility on cable connections and functions. These fans are well engineered which I appreciate most.
Hello Boogie Mane. welcome back, I dont think you can as you can't plug the pump header to the SL-Infinity controller. even if you have the SL or AL controller, I would advise you to plug your pump header to it. what if the controller mulfunction? your pump will stop to work.
Hey Kleo Nice video I have 2 questions 1: can I connect and control the rpm of my water pump from my custom watercooling Wich has a 4 pin pwm connector Wich l connect 3 ? 2: can I connect and control the A-RGB from the same water pump with the controller and l connect 3 ?
Hi J J , welcome back. thanks for the compliment. now if you are using the SL Inf Controller, you will only be able to plug your pump argb to the Sync 2 or Sync 4 port, else for your pump 4pin pwm is not able to house to the controller, as it's using a 7 pin connector.. here is an illustration of the controller imgur.com/gallery/fSbPEFl (look at the controller and the plugs / connectors ) . Therefore you only be able to control the argb of your pump with the L-Connect 3 application.

I had the same issue, the connection tion where it meets the fans needs to be turned around, slide the connection back out, rotate it 180 degrees and reconnect, then take the top cover off and put the canle the direction you want.
Hello, I have a question about these fans, a few days ago I put together my new configuration, then I ran it and noticed that the bios detects the fans but I can't control them their speed, do you think I will be able to control them after I install the fan software and note that I want them to be bios controlled or is the problem more serious I don't have Windows installed yet and I haven't done anything in the bios everything is still fresh
Hi Atanas Beinov, welcome to my channel, yes you will be able to after you've installed the L-Connect 3app, reason that you can't do it at UEFI / Bios, your fans are connected to the uni controller. you will need the L-Connect 3 app to set to sync with motherboard mode, if not you are not able to controller the RPM via your motherboard Bios/UEFI.
I'm about to do a build where i will be using 6 of these fans. 3x140mm as case fans, and 3x120mm as aio fans. Will i be able to use the cable provided in the single pack to connect the aio fans directly to the motherboards cpu fan header? I'm not sure i trust lconnect3 to handle that part 😅 Thanks for some great videos!
@@Mephonis hi welcome to my channel. If you purchase 3 individual fans, yes you will be able to plug it directly to your motherboard ARGB and fan header. Just make sure your daisy chained keep to 3 fans max to each motherboard ARGB or fan header.
@@KleoYan thanks for clarifying. Will I be able to control the argb of the aio fans in lconnect3 when it is put in the motherboard? Or will i only be able to do it through the motherboard software?
@@Mephonis L-Connect 3 only works if you have the Uni controller. Plugging to just the motherboard headers, you will need the motherboard software to control the ARGB effects
@@KleoYan I do have the controller aswell. As I've bought a triple pack 120mm, and 3 single 140mm. Im just not sure about the optimal way of setting it up. My original idea was to put the 3 aio fans on the fan header on the motherboard, and the argb cable in the controller, but that's not possible due to the different connector layout. The 3 140mm chassis fans I would just connect to the controller directly 🙂
Hi Kleo, Do u pref this fans or the UNI FAN AL V2? Im gonna full white build inside o11d evo rgb, and Galahad II SL-INF 360 (I don't mind replacing the fans). Thanks for the explanations and your videos!
Hi Varo Go, welcome to my channel. Both AL and infinity is almost identical. But I choose the AL V2 for the infinity. It look sleek on the ARGB effects. Not overdose over the infinity.
@@Varowo If you are using these fans as case fans. both noise are almost identical. If you use it on AIOs then the ALV2 will be abit louder. This is due to the ALV2 are 28mm thick as compared to the SL Inf with is at 25mm thick.
If connecting all the fans to the controller I don't think you need to worry about overloading your motherboard as the controller is only drawing power to run the leds. The controller draws its power from the PSU. You only need to worry about overloading if you are connecting the fans directly to a fan header on the motherboard and not daisy chain more than 3 or 4 fans to one motherboard fan header. The controller will take fans daisy chained up to 4 to one port on the controller. The controller can run a maximum of 16 fans but I doubt most users will have more than 10 fans total in their case(12 if doing a push pull water cooler aio setup but this is overkill in my opinion). You can only install 9 or 11(push pull setup) fans(120mm) total in a Lian Li 011D mini case for example.
Hello Davinia Robbins, welcome to my channel. You are absolutely right. infact I highlighted this out as some will just go without knowing. In the past, there are reviewers who show stuns that daisy chain more than 4 fans to a port which I've witness some of those whom I've help, they did the same. well that's in the past. As for now, with the newly designed controller, you can bridge up to 3 sets of 3 fans to a port.
@@KleoYan I think you only need to really connect to a sys fan header if you want the motherboard to monitor the speeds of the fans if using the controller. And to a USB header if using the software that you can download for the controller to control the speeds of the fans. I think it will all run fine without connecting to any motherboard header it will just operate in default settings and speeds.

The newer controllers allows bridging of 2 sets of 3 fans together to the controller to a port, but still max fans to use are 16 to this controller. As what you have mentioned just to use the pwm connector between the controller to either motherboard fan header. Yes the load is not in the motherboard is on the controller, unless connect directly to the motherboard fan header and use by plugging the pwm you can set by pass to use the motherboard utility or even in UEFI/Bios to control the fans rpm. Hi THE PanzerBoy, welcome to my channel. Just to check, in windows, on the device management, under Universal Serial Bus Devices, do you see two SL-Inf device listed? if you only have 1, you should check the usb conntection of the SL-INF controller which you can't control. Legend, SL-INF-1 controller and SL-INF-2 controller. 1) Check to ensure both uni controller shows under device manager under Universal Serial Bus Devices 2) If its only showing you one. Lets say SL-INF-1 controller is detected, check and reset SL-INF-2 controller's USB cable or to reseat it to your motherboard USB Header. 3) If no reaction, swap the USB cable of SL-INF-1 and SL-INF-2 controller. this is to narrow down if it's a USB Cable issue. Lets say before swaping, SL-INF-1 is working, after swap, SL-INF-1 controller does not work, instead SL-INF-2 controller works. This tells you that your USB Header are working fine, both controllers are fine but one of your USB Cable faulty. 4) even after swaping at step 3. still SL-INF-2 controller not working. swap the controllers. Lets say SL-INF-1 controller is working well on motherboard USB 2.0 port A, swap the SL-INF-2 Controller to Port A and SL-INF-1 controller to Port B. this way it will narrow down if it's a port issue. Test these out. It can be cable issue, controller issue or even motherboard USB 2.0 Header issue.

Hello anooymous84, welcome to my channel, you can dont use the controller and replace the SL120 V2 fans to your EK Elite, plug the fans as per normal to the uni controller and use L-Connect 3 application to control both Fans RPM and ARGB. as for the EK pump, plug it to the motherboard pump header and for the argb 3pin connector, you can plug to your motherboard argb 3pin 5v argb header, use your mothernoard argb software to control the argb effects of your EK pump.
@@KleoYanthanks for the answer. This is truly a shame… I have been using the iCue Software and Corsair fans and was considering trying the Lian Li fans but this just „turned me off“ :-(. However, I believe using the L-connect for speed profiles and e.g. Aura Sync should work. Toggle on/off MB lightning sync under Quick/Sync Lightning. Is this assumption correct?
@@Prophet_4u2 yup correct. you can always use by pass mode on L-Connect App to use other ARGB application to control the effects, but the patterns are limited in a way, you can't control individual argb the way you might want it.
Hello Michael Hefferman, welcome to my channel. you can plug these fans to an Arctic LF2 aio not an issue, but you need to take note of the thickness of the radiator. Reason I say this is, though you can place this to your LF2, will there be enough clearance for you to mount into your case. is best to check for clarance. the LF2 aio has a 38mm think rad and plug these fans which is at 27mm, the total thickness will be at 65mm thick.

Hi Kaitokid423, welcome to my channel, did you purchase a triple pack SL Inf 120 that comes with the uni controller? or did you purchase single pack fan? L-Connect 3 application will only work when you have the uni controller. without the uni controller, you can only use your motherboard argb software to set the argb effects on your uni fan.

Really appreciate your review. I have a question. Can I daisy chain infinity SL 120 and 'regular' SL 140? Although I really wish to have all the fans uniformly in infinity, I need at least two 140 fans to cover Kraken z63, while infinity doesn't come in 140 size.... (bummer)
Hi serendipity, welcome back. Yes you can do that, so long they are of the same uni fan family. But I would advise only to mount the SL140 argb connector to your uni controller and leaving the fan load directly connected to the motherboard cpu_fan header. As your SL140 are for your radiator. Let your motherboard control the rpms. Another reason for this is, in the event if your uni controller is not functioning. Only the argbs are affected and not the fan rpm, so this will ensure that your SL140 is still spinning and keeping your processor cool. Please take note not to daisy more than 4 SL fans to one output of the uni controller. This is to prevent overload.
@@KleoYan thanks for the advice! So you are saying, even if I may not connect infinity fans directly to the uni controller, I still can customize their lighting effects through l-connect, right? Or would it be more convenient to get extra controller connected to infinity fans so that their lighting and functioning are separate from those of regular 140 unis/radiator fans?
@@serendipity2656 huh I thought u are talking about the original SL120 and SL140? Anyway both SL120 / SL140 and the SL 120 infinity will need their uni controllers. Else L-Connect 3 application will not work.

@@serendipity2656 oh.. ok my bad.. if thats the case. you can still make use of the sync 2 or sync 4 port of the SL Infinity controller for the SL140 fans.. only thing you need to take note is that.. Hi, 2 questions: Can we use the fan connector (that splits the PWM and ARGB) in the 1 individual fan on a cluster? What do you do with the plastic protector?
Hi David Teo, welcome back. Pardon me, I don’t understand your first question, mind to elaborate more? The plastic protector is meant to stick on both sides of the fan where the mirror effect is. It’s to prevent scratches. Sorry that I miss out on that.

Hello Adrian Guiao, welcome to my channel. Yes you will be able to connect all to the controller as the 3 pack set should have four cables that has a 7pin plug. Therefore each cable you can daisy chained up to 4 fans and to be plug to port 1 2 3 and 4.
@@dopeboiiage yes, the three pack have total of 4 7pin cables which you can daisy chain four fans to 1 cable. so that is total of 12 fans to your controller which are to be plug to port 1 to 4. no issue.
Hello Iron Condor Simulations, if you purchase a single unit. The cable that comes with it, allows you to connect directly to the motherboard. Both fans and argb, but for the argb, you can only use the motherboard argb utility. If you want to use the L-Connect 3 app. The Inf Uni controller is needed and this unit is only when you purchase a 3set pack.
@@KleoYan thanks! Will the single fan purchase be able to connect to the L Connect 4 controller that is included with the three pack? I see the cable for the single pack only has ARGB and power.
@@IronCondorSimulations if you did purchase the 3set pack that comes with the controller, there are 4 cables that has 7pin connector. You won’t be using all four, you will be daisy chaining the fans and to use only 1 cable. You left with 3 cables. So if you purchased individual pack. You can forgo the cable that comes with it. Instead use one of the cables from the 3set pack, then you can connect your single pack fan to the inf uni controller, then you can make use of the L-Connect to controller the argb effects. I hope I am not confusing you.
To make sure I have the connections right to use one controller to control six 140mm Infinity fans that I'd like the Motherboard to control fans speed on, but use L connect for rgb can I do as follows.... Run both groups of three into the controller using the 7pin connectors, use the Motherboard cable plug in the header to motherboard for fan speed, and then leave the argb connector unplugged so I can use L connect to control? As the controller will have all the 6 fans plugged in it won't overload the one MB header correct?
Hi Nucl3ar, welcome back, if you are having the 3 pack set on both your SL-Infinity. this is how I will plug if you want to controll separately of the fan load and argb effects. 1) 3 x SL Inf fans to controller (example port 1) 2) 3 x SL Inf fans to controller (exmaple port 2) 3) plug the sata source from your psu to the sata cable which connects to the controller (this is where the power is supplied to both fan load and argb lightings) 4) as usual, plug the usb cable between the motherboard and the controller 5) plug only the PWM cable between the controller and your motherboard fan header 6) you do not need to plug the argb cable between then controller and your motherboard argb header. In L-Connect 3 app, under Fan / Pump dashboard, enable sync with motherboard (Then you will be able to control your fans rpm, using your motherboard utlity) As for the argb, use the L-Connect 3 app to control the effects you wanted.

Hello Kevin Lim, welcome to my channel, you can do with a converter and to plug your strimer V1 controller to the Sync 2 or 4 in the SL inf controller. but you wont be able to make use of the strimer plus effects from the L-Connect 3. if you want that, you should get the Strimer plus controller v2.

Just to share the result incase some will also have the same question, there were 2 LEDs in the 8pin(gpu side) that is just randomly flickering. Didn't made time to fix lol. Much better to use the L Connect 3 controller to avoid hassle.
If anyone of you have the issues with L-Connect 3 app, below are some troubleshooting steps
Basic Troubleshooting steps
Disclaimer : Though the chances are very low to brick firmware updates on motherboard and to any controllers.
For AMD will be at www.amd.com/en/support for Intel will be Intel Driver & Support Assistant Intel DSA www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
3) Remove all argb apps (Asus Armory Crate / MSI Dragon Center / Giga Fusion / Asrock Polychrome). If the brands which I have mentioned, do have a uninstall tool like the Asus Armory Crate, use that, else use Revo uninstaller ( www.revouninstaller.com/ ). Revo uninstaller will remove all unwanted files / folder / registry in your system. Illustration to use revo uninstaller th-cam.com/video/uMgUYiakpxM/w-d-xo.html
4) Shutdown your PC, unplug the PSU cable from your AC outlet. Press the power switch twice to discharge all current that your motherboard is holding. Leave it for 45 second
5) While waiting, please do not use KVM switches.
7) Plug the power cable and turn on your PC
8) Go to your Device Manager, look under Universal Serial Bus Devices, make sure you see the Lian Li uni / strimer plus V2 controller.
9) Install the L-Connect 3 app only lian-li.com/l-connect3/ (current version 1.3.16)
10) After installation, run L-Connect 3, check under Setting > General > make sure Auto-Run on Boot and Minimized L-Connect 3 to system tray at close are ON.
If it does not work, skip step 14) and proceed step 16)
14) If Single controller works, shutdown your pc, connect uni fan set of 3 to your output of your uni controller.
(Disclaimer, buying a internal usb hub might or might not resolve this issue, purchase at your own expenses)
16) If it does not work, report your issues to Lian li Tech Support.

Good video!! Whats the name of the splitter cable?
Hi Rafael A Rodriguez Estronza, welcome to my channel. I have no idea the actual name for it as you can't get this cable individually. It comes with the 3 fan pack set.
But I ask for the RGB Splitter. That one not come with the fans.

Is the mirror effect to take air out or to put air in? Because the idea is to put them on the side where you can see the mirror effect.
Hi lain, welcome to my channel. If it’s of the standard version of the SL Inf, the face where is shows the mirror effect is drawing air in (example the mirror effect is facing you. The air will not blow to your face)
Now if it’s of the reverse version. It will be pulling air in. Which the air will blow to your face.

Basic Troubleshooting steps
Disclaimer : Though the chances are very low to brick firmware updates on motherboard and to any controllers.
Illustration to use revo uninstaller th-cam.com/video/uMgUYiakpxM/w-d-xo.html
2) Make sure your motherboard bios is up to date, please check on your motherboard manufacture website, under support > bios and drivers. See if there are issues with USB and do they have a fix. If there are, kindly update those bios firmware version.
3) Make sure your chipset driver for your motherboard is up to date! For AMD will be at www.amd.com/en/support for Intel will be Intel Driver & Support Assistant Intel DSA www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
4) Shutdown your PC, unplug the PSU cable from your AC outlet. Press the power switch twice to discharge all current that your motherboard is holding. Leave it for 45 second
5) While waiting, please do not use KVM switches.
If it does not work, skip step 14) and proceed step 16)
14) If Single controller works, shutdown your pc, connect uni fan set of 3 to your output of your uni controller.
(Disclaimer, buying a internal usb hub might or might not resolve this issue, purchase at your own expenses)
16) If it does not work, report your issues to Lian li Tech Support.
Here is another video explaining how L-Connect 3 should be in order to have it work perfectly. th-cam.com/video/CgvuUFeff8U/w-d-xo.html

Either AIO will work. infact I am more infavor of Arctic Liquid Freezer II due to the thick radiator but make sure that your case do fit a thick radiator with fans and also to consider the top mounting clearance (the side vrm heatsink and the rear I/O shroud)
If you intend to replace fans from the liquid AIO, I would do this.

@@KleoYan Thanks, Kleo . So, to use the two types of fan models I need to have their respective controllers working, is that the only way?
@@multiversetechub yes correct.
I’m wondering if you can use this controller provided in the 3 pack infinity fans with the strimer plus v2
hi, welcome back, if it's strimer plus v1, yes you can.. but for strimer plus V2, you can too but it defeat the purpose as the L-Connect 3 app has more argb effects to play with, thats why the Strimer Plus V2 has a new controller that enable you to plug the USB cable between the controller to your motherboard. example here of the Strimer Plus V2 th-cam.com/video/uWNZO2HVgxE/w-d-xo.html

Hi SanteeNL, welcome to my channel. Yes they are insanely good hahha. Far more better as compared to the AL and SL, in terms of it’s flexibility on cable connections and functions. These fans are well engineered which I appreciate most.
Can you control your pwm pump with the LC3?
Hello Boogie Mane. welcome back, I dont think you can as you can't plug the pump header to the SL-Infinity controller. even if you have the SL or AL controller, I would advise you to plug your pump header to it. what if the controller mulfunction? your pump will stop to work.

Hi ya, I guess is up to personal preference. I myself like the black ones as the effect pops out better.
Wait which one is exhaust, the mirror side or the logo side?
Hello iNZeL, welcome to my channel. Mirror end is where the air goes in and the logo side is where the air goes out.
Hey Kleo
Nice video
I have 2 questions
1: can I connect and control the rpm of my water pump from my custom watercooling Wich has a 4 pin pwm connector Wich l connect 3 ?
2: can I connect and control the A-RGB from the same water pump with the controller and l connect 3 ?
Hi J J , welcome back. thanks for the compliment. now if you are using the SL Inf Controller, you will only be able to plug your pump argb to the Sync 2 or Sync 4 port, else for your pump 4pin pwm is not able to house to the controller, as it's using a 7 pin connector.. here is an illustration of the controller imgur.com/gallery/fSbPEFl (look at the controller and the plugs / connectors ) . Therefore you only be able to control the argb of your pump with the L-Connect 3 application.

their speed, do you think I will be able to control them after I install the fan software and note that I want them to be bios controlled or is the problem more serious I don't have Windows installed yet and I haven't done anything in the bios everything is still fresh

@@Mephonis hi welcome to my channel. If you purchase 3 individual fans, yes you will be able to plug it directly to your motherboard ARGB and fan header. Just make sure your daisy chained keep to 3 fans max to each motherboard ARGB or fan header.

My original idea was to put the 3 aio fans on the fan header on the motherboard, and the argb cable in the controller, but that's not possible due to the different connector layout. The 3 140mm chassis fans I would just connect to the controller directly 🙂

@@KleoYan Thank you very much for the answer, Kleo. In terms of noise and performance, are they similar?
@@Varowo If you are using these fans as case fans. both noise are almost identical. If you use it on AIOs then the ALV2 will be abit louder. This is due to the ALV2 are 28mm thick as compared to the SL Inf with is at 25mm thick.

@@Varowo you are most welcome and all the best with your build.

1) Check to ensure both uni controller shows under device manager under Universal Serial Bus Devices
2) If its only showing you one.

@@KleoYan I was talking "SL infinity 120" as case fans & "original SL 140" as radiator fans (since theres no 140 infinity fan haha)
So even if radiator fans and case fans may be different in model, both can still coexist on a same PC and be customized with lighting on their own, so long as they are connected to separate controllers, right?
@@serendipity2656 oh.. ok my bad.. if thats the case. you can still make use of the sync 2 or sync 4 port of the SL Infinity controller for the SL140 fans.. only thing you need to take note is that.. SL140 cannot be individually controlled.. it will follow either port 2 or port 4 respectively.. you can find details at lian li website lian-li.com/product/uni-fan-sl-infinity/
look under SIMPLE CONNECTION WITH CONTROLLER where it says SM TYPE PORT
Compatible with the Galahad AIO pump ARGB cable…etc.
Each port supports a 5W maximum output.
SYNC 4 port syncs to the lighting effect of port 4
and SYNC 2 port syncs to the lighting effect of port 2
Hi,
2 questions:
Can we use the fan connector (that splits the PWM and ARGB) in the 1 individual fan on a cluster?
What do you do with the plastic protector?
Hi David Teo, welcome back. Pardon me, I don’t understand your first question, mind to elaborate more?
The plastic protector is meant to stick on both sides of the fan where the mirror effect is. It’s to prevent scratches. Sorry that I miss out on that.
@@KleoYan In the individual SL INF fan package, the fan connector/cable was similar to SL and AL series (with separate PWM and ARBG connectors). I am asking if this fan connector/cable also be use for a cluster of SL infinity fans instead of the new 7 pin cable?
@@en0n Oh. The individual pack even if u cluster 3 to on, that cable you can’t use it on the uni controller.
Hi, i have a question, i have the 3 pack lian li infinity, bt my motherboard doesnt have the 5v 3 pins conection. If i use the box to Connect them all, and no the argb cable to the MB , could i control anyway the light effects ?? I a little dificult for me to write in english, Hope you understand my question. And Hope i can Connect and sync my light effect some way
Hi Carlupi CLIPS, welcome to my channel. You do not need to plug the argb cable, make use of the controller to set the argb effects will do.
@@KleoYan oooh you save my life, thanks so much for answer. !!

If I don’t want to control the fans with the motherboard do I still need to plug the smaller cable that makes it do that? Or I don’t need to connect it if I’m going to use L connect
Hello swift, welcome to my channel. If you are only using the L-Connect 3 app to control both fan rpm and argb effects, you don’t need to. Just plug the usb cable between the uni controller and to your motherboard usb 2.0 header will do.
@@KleoYan thank you, I plan on running 10 of these fans. x3 on the top, x3 on the bottom, & x4 on the side of my case. Will one controller be enough to power all of them?
@@swifted yes it’s enough. The uni contoller each port is up to max 4 fans.
Very beautiful !
Hello Dimitrios laokeim, welcome to my channel and yup, they are indeed beautiful to look at. A combination of both SL and AL. 😉
Hi, how do I know which side they push air from?
Hi Giorgio Frosi, welcome to my channel. The side where you see the 4 frame sticking diagonally to the fan. This is where air is pushing else for the side without the 4 diagonal frame is pulling air.

Hello. How did you get your Strimer plus v2 cables to work with your infinity fans? I connected the controller that came with the v2 cables and also kept the controller that came with the infinity fans but now the L connect 3 software isn’t finding the fans. Is there something I have to do differently? Do I have to connect the fans or cables to the same controller? They have different connections so I didn’t see how to do that . Can you help me plz?

@@KleoYan the video didn’t help with what I needed but I definitely appreciate you replying to my question, I actually just unplugged everything and plugged everything back the same way I did it and the L connect software started working again with the fans lol weird. I couldn’t find anything on the problem I was having so I just reconnected everything and it finally worked. Thanks again
@@miguelp619 Oh ok.. at least you got your set working, that''s good
Hi so i bought one 3 pack of the sl infinity and 9 single packs... reason is avaliablity for the 3 pack is very limited is it still possible to connect majority of the single packs to the controller? If not whats the best way to go about
Hello Adrian Guiao, welcome to my channel. Yes you will be able to connect all to the controller as the 3 pack set should have four cables that has a 7pin plug. Therefore each cable you can daisy chained up to 4 fans and to be plug to port 1 2 3 and 4.
@@KleoYan thank you for the reply brother. So the 3 pack comes with extra 7 pins
@@dopeboiiage yes, the three pack have total of 4 7pin cables which you can daisy chain four fans to 1 cable. so that is total of 12 fans to your controller which are to be plug to port 1 to 4. no issue.
If you can't connect a single unit to the mobo for rgb and power, will this work with L Connect 3?
1) 3 x SL Inf fans to controller (example port 1)
2) 3 x SL Inf fans to controller (exmaple port 2)
3) plug the sata source from your psu to the sata cable which connects to the controller (this is where the power is supplied to both fan load and argb lightings)
4) as usual, plug the usb cable between the motherboard and the controller
5) plug only the PWM cable between the controller and your motherboard fan header
6) you do not need to plug the argb cable between then controller and your motherboard argb header.
In L-Connect 3 app, under Fan / Pump dashboard, enable sync with motherboard (Then you will be able to control your fans rpm, using your motherboard utlity)
As for the argb, use the L-Connect 3 app to control the effects you wanted.
@@KleoYan Perfect exactly how I thought it should work again I can't thank you enough for what you do for the community! Only sad thing I got 10 x 140mm LL Infinity's and didn't realize the Corsair 7000d case has a front fan cage/shroud that covers the side mirrors of the fans.
So you cannot connect single pack fans to fan hub? I just ordered 13x lian li single packs and fan hub. My situation is that I gonna use 6x fans for top push&pull configuration, 1 rear exhaust, 3 bottom intake, side intake. I'm trying to find a way how to connect all of them to be able to control them separately, ,maybe you have any ideas? Would help me a lot bro
Hi Chuck Norris, welcome to my channel. If you have gotten all 13 SL Inifinity fans without the SL Infinity uni controller which are included in a 3 pack set. It will be an issue where you are not able to use the L-Connect 3 app. As for the fan hub you are refering to, I am not sure which hub you've gotten and I have no clue if there is a separate SL Infinity uni controller sold out there, plus if there is a separate unit, I have no idea what's provided in this unit. Let me know which fan hub did you get, if not I am not able to suggest or to help you with. thank you!
@@KleoYan Found that aliexpress has uni hub seperately sold woth all cables that comes with 3x pack but I tried to bypass that and find an aftermarket hub which is razer argb hub. Reason behind this is signalrgb program which allows custom effects and a lot of customization but lian li firmware is really messy so its not supported. Also it offers lower cpu usage and multiple devices sync

Hello, can I connect the Strimer Plus V1 controller to the SL Infinity controller? Will it work? Or i still need the Strimer Plus V2 controller?
Hello Kevin Lim, welcome to my channel, you can do with a converter and to plug your strimer V1 controller to the Sync 2 or 4 in the SL inf controller. but you wont be able to make use of the strimer plus effects from the L-Connect 3. if you want that, you should get the Strimer plus controller v2.
Just built my PC and I tried using a converter from Strimer V1 to Sync2/4 in the SL Inf Uni. Just to share the result incase some will also have the same question, there were 2 LEDs in the 8pin(gpu side) that is just randomly flickering. Didn't made time to fix lol. Much better to use the L Connect 3 controller to avoid hassle.
