    Hey Dan (and others having the settings issue), for your L-Connect settings to save you have to go into your BIOS and make sure constant USB power is on. The controller needs constant power even in sleep/shutdown. If it still doesn't work after that, try a different USB header for the controller. Some motherboards only hold power on certain headers so check your manual! Hope this helps :)

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Thank you for the comment! I did read that there should be a settings adjustment in the BIOS that I can adjust but I find it a tad annoying that I we have to do this to retain settings. I will try the other USB header on my board first and see if it works. Going to pin your comment so other people see it. Thanks for the information!

      Don`t want to change a couple of settings in your bios (that would be set and forget), but you will adjust your fan speed and rgb lighting every time you boot up. Does not compute (pun intended) to me. ?

    Another great review Dan, thanks for spending the time going thru the lighting presets and software controls rather than wasting it recording you physically taking the stuff out of the box. Concise, yet In-Depth. The tip about the controller losing its settings after re-boot is good to know. I will take that into account when choosing my future purchase.

      Thanks for the comment, that’s really nice of you to say and I appreciate it.
      So it appears the controller thing might have been resolved with a software update. Mine is loading up every time now and I didn’t change anything. Not sure what happened but glad it’s working now. Worst case scenario is you have to open and minimize the app on boot each time, which wasn’t that bad.

    the 1-4 selection on each color scheme is for fans 1 through 4 of each daisy chain not each section of fans. so if you select only 2 of those for a 3 fan chain that is why one is dark. The chain for the radiator was fine since it was only 2 fans.

    The timing on discovering your video review was helpful. I was looking into Lian Li fans to replace my Corsair fans because the white LED color has worn itself down to a yellowish opaque color for keeping it for 2 years. Knowing that the Lian Li doesn't save the color settings from their software tool and resets to default every time it boots up is a deal breaker. I hope there is a software fix to it, and would consider to buy it.

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am hoping they fix it too because the program auto boots, minimized to the task tray. It will only load my previous settings when I physically open the program up, but not when it auto boots to task tray. Seems like a software glitch and should be sorted out. When it is, these fans will be unmatched, except in the longevity department, that we shall see.

      @@DanKamYouKnow I'm building in the Lian-Li 011 XL. It's going to be a full custom loop with three 360mm rads, custom front distro plate. I've been very anxious to start building but had to wait for some parts to become available. The Asus Crosshair Extreme motherboard took a little bit to get and 4090 arrives tomorrow. Only thing that's left now is the GPU waterblock. I want the wiring not to be a huge mess so the SL Infinity fans are really gonna help. Have you tried controlling them via controller and motherboard? The Asus Crosshair Extreme comes with its own ARGB/Fan controller that also uses a USB header so I'm thinking it would be best to stick to motherboard control.

      Very nice, would love to see it once it’s done. • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  ปีที่แล้ว

      For this case, you can go either way. From multiple testing, it seems like a 280mm radiator on the side, with the fans set to intake, is the best for temps. BUT, a 360mm on top will work just fine. 👍🏻

    Awesome review! Its what I was looking for since Im building in the exact same case. My question is if you had a chance to build with the SL120 V2 fans. It's either the V2's or these INF fans on a 280mm radiator on the side as intake. You mentioned the noise was fine @1600, but have been hearing different views on the sound, some saying it gets loud. So was wondering if you could do a push-pull with the Lian Li's at a low RPM on the inside and outer fans (Be quiet Silent Wings 4?) doing the heavy lifting.

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  ปีที่แล้ว

      The sound really depends on the case and that persons threshold for noise. Some people will say fans are loud if they’re audible at all, but I’m more acceptable and have a higher threshold for noise because I know PC’s aren’t quiet. Your push pull idea might work but I don’t like the push and pull fans to have too much of a varying fan speed

    STOP!!! INCORRECT INFO!!!
    In general, this video was fantastic. It was well edited, very informative, and extremely helpful in my new build with these Uni Fan SL-Infinity 120 fans. HOWEVER...
    There's one fatal flaw here that I haven't seen addressed in the comments or spoken about in later videos and that's your incorrect info @1:57 on the airflow of the fans.
    The side with the brackets is NOT the intake. It's the exhaust. The other side, sans brackets, is the intake.
    This is demonstrated in JayzTwoCents' own video of the fans @16:10, when he shows a piece of paper being blown across the workbench by the BRACKET SIDE of the fans.
    If you addressed this mistake in a later video and I missed it, my apologies. But, like I said, I looked at your video on the reverse blade version of these fans, plus went through all of the comments in this video, and didn't see anything to correct it, so I wanted to bring it up here.
    Still a good video, but that piece of misinformation really needs to be corrected. Thanks.

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I see what you mean but the fact is, if you see the spokes side of the fan in your case, they will be intake. In the case of my Y60, my side fans are intake and the top fans (showing the mirror), are exhaust.

      So, I still use these fans and controller, but the controller is only plugged into a USB 2.0 header on the motherboard and I have my AIO plugged into the CPU fan header. I control the pump speed thru the BIOS and control the fans with L-Connect 3. The controller is not plugged into any fan header, that may be your issue. I’ve never actually had an issue with fans ramping up and down

I am planning to move my 25l set up to the Hyte Y60 and set up couples of Lian Li RGB fans and the controller. • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ben! So, there may be a few issues. The Lian Li controller requires an available USB 2.0 header to be able to “talk” to the motherboard and the Omen does not have any open USB 2.0 headers, so you would need a splitter. Secondly, from what I have seen with other manufacturers, the Omen motherboard may make it so the Lian Li software won’t recognize the controller. I’ve seen people try Corsair controllers with Omens and the software doesn’t recognize it.
      Honestly, if you’re swapping cases, I’d consider swapping motherboards too. And no, the Lian Li controller only works with Lian Li fans

      @@DanKamYouKnow Thank you very much for your advice! I have found a solution to a similar case which I will link below. This guy plugs a USB 2.0 splitter to the header which was originally powering the small light control module at the bottom of the case. I think I would buy the Lian Li first and test it on my Omen motherboard and switch to a now mother board if this doesn't work.

    • @gammafilter
      @gammafilter ปีที่แล้ว

      @DanKamYouKnow the setting that allows the MB signal to be used a the ligh control. It's the "MB Sync Lighting" toggle. The default option for the controller is that i will display rainbow, even if the MB signal is red. If ypu start L-connect, Nd you have this toggle turned on then you fans will change to red. However if you allow this setting to be applied as default behavior the user wouldn't need to start extra software.

    • @DanKamYouKnow
      @DanKamYouKnow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh gotcha, the motherboard sync toggle in L-Connect 3. I have always used the application for all of my lighting control and I’m not currently utilizing the 5v RGB cables that plug into the board ( everything goes to my controller ). So I unfortunately don’t know if it will default to MB upon reboot. You might want to check a Lian Li forum or the many Lian Li users Facebook groups there are.
