Love love LOVE the fact that a TH-cam overlander is willing to focus on The Great Taboo Subject: weight, of mods and gear. Almost all the others refuse to even *mention* it. It's as if it's a secret race to see who can get the furthest above GVWR in the name of "look at all the money I spent on all this cool gear I can bring with so I can avoid nature as much as possible." SERIOUSLY: Thank You for paying attention to it and emphasizing the consideration of it. I think Will from Venture 2 Roam and Justin B. McBride have mentioned it in the past (and then moved on for the most part) but I can't think of any others I've seen that have put ANY focus on saving weight and running lighter. Kudos. Simpler is better, and the lighter your rig is, the longer it will last between repairs or breakdowns on the trail. And thanks for a video that focused solely on the adventure of the day without any distractions. Noted and appreciated. 😊
I concur with GVWR. On the way out, I stop at a CAT scale, not that I will turn around and adjust the weight but to know where I am when I start and make changes when I return. Most recently, I was at 6,540 lbs and ~240 lbs over GVWR, losing 60 lbs from the previous trip. While I might not lose it all, little by little, I will improve. There's always something I can go without--backpackers and bikepakers go without a lot less. Thanks for mentioning such an important topic that is overwhelmingly ignored.
Tahuya is a great place for a shakedown. The new tent's weight is amazing, though I imagine when compared to a top of the line iKamper, there is a tradeoff when it comes to comfort. I look forward to hearing more about it after more uses. Once again, another awesome OTG video
Ah Tahuya, that's classic PNW wet forest and not too far from home for me. Really nice work on your edits in this one. So far mostly a wet PNW winter but maybe we'll get some lowland snow you can play in.
Nice!! That is always smart to test your gear and ensure it makes sense to carry. Seeing this video back A few memorries of going thru tahuya with a Tahoe. Having a wide rig is not for the faint of heart on a lot of the trails in there. Great video!!
Another cool video. I really liked that area. My Badlands is coming up on its first birthday end of this month. You were very very helpful with questions I asked on the Patreon page. I’m going to have to renew that. So thanks for your time back then. Bronco is amazing! Are the small lights you have on back of your rack hooked up to the Aux switches? Where do the wires feed from. Thanks again for all your prior help !
I grew up not far from there. Great video! I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion on the inspired carbon overall, since I'm hoping to order one in the next couple of months.
Every time I watch you walk around in jeans I’m like how do you do that. Need to find me some comfortable jeans or I’m just going to live in tac pants/joggers forever
Those camera works are legit!

Great cinematography and so nice that you didn't put music to the offloading.
So many great camera angles on this one and the audio was awesome. So cool hearing all the water as you crossed through it.
I really enjoyed this one. The Bronco is looking like an absolute beast these days
Nice work as always, I’ve always appreciated your approach to bringing the viewer into your experience. Has certainly been an inspiration for me.

Great vid. You cinematography is topnotch. You need to go snow wheeling. I bet your video skillz would capture the experience really well.
Parabéns pela produção visual e também repassar as técnicas em terrenos acidentados, muito útil para quem aprecia offroad. Parabéns 👏👏👏
Gotta love Tahuya. I live on the trailhead and adventure there regularly. Great Video David
I could see that video was a lot of work turned out great!
As a backpacker there’s a saying: Pack light. Travel Far. 🙂

Hi David, thank you so much for sharing this video. I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
Man, what a great video. I enjoyed the heck out of it. Would really like more stuff like this. Hated too see it end. Thanks.
Great video as usual. Love the new tent. Weight is definitely a key point.
Very mild winter this year. Hope you and your family feel better!
Great shots indeed! 🙌🏼
Always a good day in Tahuya!

Still havnt hit Tahuya yet (house renovations). Camera work is on point tho! Rig looks dope....!
Awesome video thanks for posting
Shotgun mic on the camera? or do you have a mic mounted on the Bronco somewhere? The driving audio is crispy!
Anything over 100lbs up top, you are asking for problems when not on the flat stuff. I switched to a Alu Cab LT50, took out the mattress, 90lbs 👍🏻
I grew up not far from there. Great video! I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion on the inspired carbon overall, since I'm hoping to order one in the next couple of months.
Awesome video bro. Might get this over the ikamper. Do you plan on doing another review of this tent?
Maybe. I definitely don’t have enough time with it to do it anytime soon though
Love it!! 😮
Just got a 2024 badlands Sasquatch. I’ve been watching your vids and was wondering what pillar lights you have? Thanks for the vid.
Nice video man! Love it! Are those 37s or 35s? I can’t tell. And what brand?
Exactly how I smashed my gas door 😔
I have to ask how many miles you put down on your bronco and has there been any issues since you took ownership?
Every time I watch you walk around in jeans I’m like how do you do that. Need to find me some comfortable jeans or I’m just going to live in tac pants/joggers forever
Ironic that you say that. These pants are comfy as hell but they split on this trip in the crotch lol
@@OFFTHEGRINDI switched to Duluth trading pants a few years ago. I love them and wear them everyday no matter where I’m going.
🔥🔥🚛
:)
I saw you on the freeway one time lol
