Similar experience I had in the purchase of my Model Y back in May. Very simple buying process. Great job Dave scoping out the competition that does things differently than a traditional car dealership.
I became a big "Dave B sells Chevy" fan and subscriber when I was interested in buying a Bolt. A sequence of events led me to buy a Tesla Model 3 instead. 1. Bolt became eligible for $7.5K tax credit. 2. Bolts became hard to find in Calif. 3. Dealers adding higher "market adjustments" to Bolts. 4. Tesla dropped prices significantly. 5. Tesla became eligible for full tax credit. My Tesla scares my wife, "it's too technical"!, she would be happy with a Bolt.
Also, every dealer I inquired about the Bolt EUV would eventually spam me with emails and phone calls about my buying status, alternative cars available, offers to order ones with no idea when delivery would take place. I was only interested in the LT package in white and silver. You get none of that with the Tesla purchasing process. It was quite refreshing.

I was waiting on the Chevy Equinox EV, but when Tesla dropped the price and the car got the full tax credit, I couldn’t resist buying the car. I would have considered the Bolt EUV, but I want a better road tripper. The charging infrastructure for Tesla right now is a big advantage. I’m in Wayne NJ and took a road trip to Asheville NC and back it was as easy as can be. No charging problems or range Anxiety. Congratulations Christian I’m sure you know what a fun car it is to drive. Enjoy it.
Congrats and Dave gutsy move making a video with Chevy’s nemesis. Ipicked up my Model Y from Lawrence and drive by it on the way to work. We also have a 2023 Bolt EUV which is on par with the Tesla for 85% of our driving needs at less than 1/2 the price (1LT $23,100 OTD in Dec 2022). The Tesla drives better, feels more footed(AWD) especially in rain and snow, has more room and faster charging. They are a perfect match in our garage.
Had a lot of interest in buying an F150 Lightning but didn’t want to put a deposit down on a truck and then be subject to the mercy of the dealer and market adjustments fees of $10,000 and other dealers add-ons. The no nonsense approach to buying a Tesla is just so straight forward. Does anyone ever want pay for window etching? To answer your question Dave about will you have a job in a direct model. Honest and straight shooters like yourself will always add value and have jobs in the industry. I have never owned a Chevy, but watching your videos certainly makes me want to buy a car from you.

I get stressed over shit like this. This process was pretty easy one issue I had was my credit was frozen at the time I submitted my credit app so the initial rate that I was offered was way too high. Made 1 phone call explained I needed to unfreeze my credit and rerun the credit app. They gave me an email address to their credit team I emailed them and gave them the ok to resubmit my application with 20 minutes I had the correct rate in the Tesla app. It was that easy.
My wife and I purchased a Model X last December and it took 27 mins to complete the deal. We just got back from a 1500 mile roadtrip to Texas in it. Welcome to the Tesla family bro 👊🏻
I have a 22 M3 dual motor, it’s been a great fast appliance. Good for commuting and around town shit. Other than that. It’s been an easy ownership experience. They are doing a makeover for the M3 soon.
They haven’t even done a redesign of the model S and they have been selling it for over a decade. I doubt the Model 3 redesign is coming first before the long-loooonngggg overdue Model S replacement. And no…the tiny facelift where they deleted the fake front grille and slightly re-did the interior of the Model S didn’t count as a redesign.
@@bdoginit The M3 facelift is coming soon. Different lights, bumper, interior changes. Supp stalks gone like MS. But yeah, the model S and X need to be redesigned. Everything has been slight tweaks over many years.

They have been great cars for us but I am envious of the Tesla charging Network and the easy buying experience. If Tesla offered something that was closer in size and shape to the Bolt at a similar price, and a less contraversial CEO we would be all over it. Support for vehicle to grid an awd option and an official tow rating, even if pretty small would be the icing on the cake.

I am trying to get into a new car currently I am looking into a Bolt EUV but again I am concerned if I could even get approved I understand that interest rates are going to be crazy and I also understand a downpayment is going to be required but what drivers me crazy no one talks about it and no one posts any videos on how to get approval. The Tesla Gallery reminds of an Apple Store. Not like a ICB dealer. A lot of the problems that people have with the traditional store do not seem to apply here. Hey Dave! My family and I bought that White Chevrolet Tahoe Premier 2023. Could you make a video going over the Tahoe or Suburban , I saw you did one on the suburban but it doesn’t have specific things on the buttons and on the full system. One main thins is what the -L+ is for on the gear shifter
You’re a good guy im sure you would well in any industry, but we really don’t need sales people for brand new cars. Maybe used cars still need sales. But brand new should be sold at MSRP. No hassle. The dealer lobby is pretty strong so in sure you have nothing to worry about.

Didn’t seem like a nicer personal experience that I’d have experienced at Schumacher…no Tesla employee came outside to do a vehicle walkthrough that I’d have expected when purchasing a Chevrolet vehicle.
They will spend 45 minutes with you outside if you want them too, when I bought mine they asked if I wanted them to walk me through the car I said no because I was already very familiar
While there are big pluses to the Tesla buying process, there are also downsides. You won’t be subject to packs and dealer markup, but you don’t see dealer competition either. In addition, service is totally locked down by Tesla. This also reduces competition outside of the warranty period. Traditional car companies and dealers should learn from Tesla and they ignore them at their peril. However, Tesla is not Nirvana, and there are many horror stories about Teslas arrogance. Hubris will likely hit both Tesla as well as traditional companies that do not evolve to more customer friendly, transparent experiences. Thanks for doing the video!

Being David’s best friend and seeing him progress through his career his advice will be. Sit in every vehicle you sell and learn what every button does just spend time in the cars.
I currently have a Model 3, but when the 2024 Equinox EV comes out I am going to give it a HARD look because of the availability of V2H (Vehicle to Home) bi-directional charging.....Tesla is making a BIG mistake to not have that option IMHO. Maybe you can talk about this when it comes out?
Love your contents but come to think about it....if everyone is paying MSRP or above MSRP at your and other Chevy dealerships then what is the point of salespersons or the need of a dealership?
Consumers should be allowed to purchase cars directly from the manufacturer. You don’t need a middleman to up the price and add things that you don’t need like paint protection etc. Shopping for a car should be like buying an appliance, you have a set price. Any extra features could be added on and you would have a vehicle you want shipped directly to you.

I might be odd man out here but I really did not enjoy the Tesla delivery experience. Buying a car should feel like a life event and the delivery experience should make you feel special. I think they could learn a lot from the luxury car delivery experience provided by competitors like Lexus, bmw, Mercedes(it’s a premium car after all). Improvements would be doing a demonstration of the car’s features. I am a stock holder and this criticism comes from a constructive place. We went to mount kisco, it was mobbed with people, we had to wait in a crowded dealership and the Tesla employees were not attentive. Then they handed us paperwork to sign. This was all while an irate customer was returning her lease screaming at the Tesla employees 4ft away(they did not think to pull her aside to try to calm her down) and actually help her. Then after our paperwork was signed we had to find our car and they said you can just drive it away.
Great deal! Wisconsin does nichts, zip, nada for incentives, & my federal taxes aren't high enough to get much of a credit. I am buying a Bolt EV L2 this weekend, my only chance to get one, for my dealer has not had an allocation in 10 weeks! @@cmk325i
All these years just walk into the dealership and say "I know the car I want. It's in stock, or you can order it. My credit is great. I want to pay you full sticker price." - -- they would've probably been happy to see you. It would have been easy. Luckily, Tesla showed that Full Price is a Fair Price. Now all the "get your best deal" minions are reduced to saying "I will pay sticker, not more". Everyone got what they deserve now.

Many Tesla buyers are thoroughly familiar with the vehicles and do not want/need to waste time going over features they already know.
They offered twice while I was there. I did my homework ahead of time and just wanted to get in and drive.

I currently have a Model 3, but when the 2024 Equinox EV comes out I am going to give it a HARD look because of the availability of V2H (Vehicle to Home) bi-directional charging.....Tesla is making a BIG mistake to not have that option IMHO. Maybe you can talk about this when it comes out?
Love your contents but come to think about it....if everyone is paying MSRP or above MSRP at your and other Chevy dealerships then what is the point of salespersons or the need of a dealership?
Consumers should be allowed to purchase cars directly from the manufacturer. You don’t need a middleman to up the price and add things that you don’t need like paint protection etc. Shopping for a car should be like buying an appliance, you have a set price. Any extra features could be added on and you would have a vehicle you want shipped directly to you.

I might be odd man out here but I really did not enjoy the Tesla delivery experience. Buying a car should feel like a life event and the delivery experience should make you feel special. I think they could learn a lot from the luxury car delivery experience provided by competitors like Lexus, bmw, Mercedes(it’s a premium car after all). Improvements would be doing a demonstration of the car’s features. I am a stock holder and this criticism comes from a constructive place.
We went to mount kisco, it was mobbed with people, we had to wait in a crowded dealership and the Tesla employees were not attentive. Then they handed us paperwork to sign. This was all while an irate customer was returning her lease screaming at the Tesla employees 4ft away(they did not think to pull her aside to try to calm her down) and actually help her. Then after our paperwork was signed we had to find our car and they said you can just drive it away.
Thats why they say us is the best contry in the world an i agree

That is very much how it was.. Tesla employees very eager to help if needed.

All these years just walk into the dealership and say "I know the car I want. It's in stock, or you can order it. My credit is great. I want to pay you full sticker price." - -- they would've probably been happy to see you. It would have been easy. Luckily, Tesla showed that Full Price is a Fair Price. Now all the "get your best deal" minions are reduced to saying "I will pay sticker, not more". Everyone got what they deserve now.

@Dave B -- Didn't I just tell you this a week ago with how EASY it is to buy a Tesla? 🙂 However, my experience I didn't even have to talk to Tesla when I got there. I already had my [phone] Key. Get in car and drive away.
