Go through the rubber boot in the firewall, there’s enough room. You’ll need 2 people though it’s a bit of a pain. I swapped out the stock intake box for a custom short ram and holy shit it sounds so good. Just have to insulate it a bit from the heat.

No but another person in the comments mentioned having issues with their MDX. They said JB4 mistakenly sent them a TLX JB4. Mine was fine when I plugged in and tied down.

Have the jb4 and for me, it's much better when in the boost....it still has that electronic dbw delay on initially launch, and only at certain times. I ordered the sprint booster to see if I can manipulate throttle response....will report back
Love the video. i got the jb4 installed to a MDX type-s . got all the lights on CEL on, can't change driving mode. i can't even get it back to factory settings when is unplugged and all factory plugs are restored. Now i leave the jb4 installed and figure out how to get rid of all the error codes. ever happened to you with all the error lights came on and loss all the functions?
You have to take the ground completely off the battery and let the car sit for 30 minutes. This will do a full reset to the cars ECU. Let the car run for 5-10 minutes to get reacquainted. Turn you car off and plug in your 3 JB4 harnesses. MAKE SURE you tie them away from any heat possible. This motor gets very hot and the wires will burn if the are touching anything that gets hot. Worst case scenario, reach out to JB4. They’re an extremely reputable brand and they’ve been able to help me with my JB4 a lot. Send an email on their site and explain your situation, one of their techs will walk you through the install and make sure it’s done correctly.
@@tigereyetypes that drive it through to cycle it off didn't work. just removed the ground power and waiting. in 30 minutes, i'll plug back in all the factory plugs and drive it for 10 minutes see if it'll restore factory settings.
@@tigereyetypes BurgerTuning shipped me the wrong product. I ordered for the MDX Type s, and was shipped for the TLX. thought they're pros i guess not. Now waiting for them to reply to send me the correct product. meanwhile, I've removed the ground power from the battery and left it for an hour. Plugged all the factory plugs back in while the ground power removed. and put the ground power back on. drove it for 30 minutes still gets all the errors. gonna let it sit for an hour and restart. any other ideas ?
Happy with it, it’s not as bass heavy as some other brands out there (Harman Kardan, Alpine) but it provides VERY clear audio. Only complaint is a typical issue with the TLX. Passenger door speaker blew out but I had it replaced under warranty in 2 hours.
@@moonman_8935 agreed, I had no problem with the IS500 hooking up off the line. But other than the power delivery, it’s a pretty lackluster experience behind the wheel.
Lol you’re right, I cut the video on accident. All in all, just a lot more response out of the car. A lot more fun and driving in normal is 100x better. I’ve got more videos coming. Just wanna get some seat time so I know what to talk about
@@tigereyetypes I got you. I would agree more fun if higher g-force is the goal. It wouldn't matter to me because my Type-S is faster an anything I could have brought from my high school/college years by a long way. I am very satisfied. I've driven a mid-3 second car and at a certain point for daily driving, there are diminishing returns on more acceleration. But that's subjective and some of the nuances that you experience I wouldn't feel. The only thing I feel at a certain point of acceleration is the need to throw up. A 15% increase in HP, I've heard up to 420HP, would only matter to me if I kept my foot in the tank all the time. However, If I were to race for money like in my "old school" days, it would be absolutely great. I have a nephew that putting 1,000 HP to the wheel in a modified GT 500. It's a sleeper. He make money>

I had a deposit on a TLX Type-S Apex Blue. But got a IS500 Launch Edition.
That rwd is what made me back away for me makes the car not worth it
