Does a catless Downpipe solve the issue of the foot wells getting hot? You’re in the cold but down here in Miami, where that gold paint belongs, the center console gets awkwardly hot. Passengers have asked me “is your car ok?”

As a former Acura owner, I was disappointed at first with the hp output on this model, but then I remembered the driving experience was connected and comfortable. More hp doesn't always make up for the driving experience. I bet it's a satisfying car to drive.

Just by looking at the first pull and adjusting for the 15% power loss this is what I got.
    Dyno: 309.02HP
    Crank: 355.373HP
    Dyno: 336.96 Torque
    Crank: 387.504 Torque
I see many people in here complaining about straight line performance. This car was never meant to be the fastest. It was meant to be a nice balance. Granted, Acura should’ve shaved some pounds (at least 200Lbs), but I actually drove the car and it doesn’t feel slow at. Plus, this “brick” could take corners like nobody’s business which is shocking.

A 15% drivetrain loss based on the dyno actually comes out to 363hp and 396tq.
To figure a 15% loss, you divide the dyno number by .85. I believe you were multiplying the number by 1.15.

I’d like to see downpipes and some sort of exhaust. PRL and p2r already say how the intake box is maxed. A guy in jersey got a custom downpipe and and a couple other parts and it really gave it some serious power he’s doing 12.4 1/4. PRL snd p2r seem to really be doing a whole line up on this thing. Obv a tune is huge. Spoke to k tuner and there working On it. If I can get my over 400 whp safely I’d be happy. But definitely wouldn’t mind 500whp

As with dynoing the 4th gen TL SHAWD, the SHAWD system should be disabled by either disconnecting the drive shaft or removing the fuse for it. SHAWD varies power from front to rear and causes inaccuracy in true numbers. Not sure if this applies to the Type S but I think it’s the same.

@@chriskarsseboom2200 Faster or more fun? You have to decide what you want. Auto is no fun. Seriously though, a Honda manual transmission can shift at 200ms, while an auto can shift at 180ms. Those 20ms is hardly worth the sacrifice of having to get a boring auto. Also, here is a list of all the manuals coming out this year: Nissan Z, Toyota Supra, GRCorolla, GR86, WRX, STi, GTi, Golf R, Integra/RSX, CTR, Elantra N, mazda3 2door turbo(not sure if manual nor exactly when its coming).
Edit: Manuals are made for a reason, and they are making a strong comeback. The reason, is cars just dont have that "cool factor" if there is no manual available. Example: KIA Stinger, great car, not cool, no one cares. Why? No manual was ever made and it will die before it becomes cool. Acura's... were cool, but no manual yet. Kia... no manuals, not cool, cute box soul, but cute is not the same. Supra, not cool... yet.

Only nightmare is a fully bolt on E85 + tune, should have this near 500whp. That's where the auto starts breaking. In a manual, a clutch is needed to handle the extra tq!

Acura tlx type s is not a sport car, its a sport sedan. That being said Acura is not going to make a car that will damage its reputation for reliability, sure you can mod the car and make it as fast as you want but right out the factory good luck voiding the warrenty. This car will hold its own. Also it is fast for a sedan, 50-60 more horsepower than previous generations.

It automatically up shifts even in sport/manual mode. double wishbone suspension, but transverse engine. 350hp for a 3.0 turbo is kind of crappy when a Honda 2.0 T makes 310hp.
