    Just the fact that this is a 600$ actual flagship-quality device kills off any possible competition

      just the fact that the price point is followed up by the first bunch of trade offs and the resumee that the former king of smart phone photography is now on par with the iphone lets me to believe it's not the "flagship" it pretents to be...

      Google isn’t trying to make money from selling you a phone, they’re trying to make money from collecting your data and selling ads. This is why Google created Android and is why it’s open source, they want to get their software in as many hands as possible. This is why they can sell you a phone for $600. Me personally I rather spend $1,000 to be as free as I can from having every single thing I do tracked and sold.

    The section about fingerprint sensor is quite misleading. The pixel 6 series uses Optical fingerprint sensor, which requires light under your finger to work. Samsung Galaxy Series uses ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which does not require light under the finger, which makes it faster.

    • @Raja995mh33

      Google could've used touch screen to detect if there's a finger on the phone and then fire up the display automatically
      Without needing to press the power key
      This is something they could implement with software

      I chalk it up to the fact that no matter what model/OS you go with, all phones are extremely capable nowadays and share essentially all the same features. There used to be far less parity in the smartphone market, but even budget phones are amazing now.

    • @CherlynnLow
      @CherlynnLow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I gotta say, those things are hit or miss for sure re eraser. In some cases the eraser didn't work at all lol. Over time I've found that when Google detects and suggests things to erase, it's MUCH better at replacing the background. If you're erasing something yourself by drawing over something, that's when the replaced backgrounds can be iffy.
      As for saturation and face unblur and other things... I spoke with some reviewers before the embargo lifted and it looks like some people had older software and weren't even seeing Motion Mode features. It *could* be a software update issue, or it could just be that we have different experiences and opinions. I wish I had more time in this video to go deeper into every little thing but with the Pixel 6 (and anything software-heavy) there tends to be so much to cover, and so much can change with an OTA update. It makes reviewing anything extra difficult. But I hope you at least got some good info out of this!

    Love it in every aspect and way. Had all the iphone till iphone 13. Now fully pixel lover. All my family use iphone and I just love the change. Love the material look and love the fact it's not PERFECT. We live in a world where we want things to be spot on and always working and always doing what we ask. That seeking has made us weak. It's made us complaisant and weak minded. Pixel 6 is not perfect but I don't want it to be. I love the pixel character and more so it's just fun and simple. 08:00 Speaking about Translation, obviously Google uses English as an intermediate translation language. That is, if I want to translate French to Japanese, it seems that Google Translate does not directly translate French into Japanese, but like French -> English -> Japanese. The reason why I think so is that once I translated a French phrase that contained the French verb "rock" as in "rocking the boat". In English, that verb rock happens to have the same spelling as the noun rock (stone), but in French, the verb was completely different from the French word for rock (stone). The Japanese translation of that French was showing rock (stone).
    Interestingly, Google Translate seems to translate Korean to Japanese directly. That is, when the Korean to English translation was completely wrong, it showed the correct Japanese translation.

      @UCqyVS7HilMqCIx-Ddjbp-Sg I don't get it. If they use a language-agnostic representation, how did the system get the concept of rock (stone) from the French verb "bercer" (to cradle; to rock), which has no connection whatsoever with the French noun "roche" (rock)? The "rock" (verb) and the "rock" (noun) look the same, but conceptually they are completely different. Even their part-of-speech is different.

    I switched from a Pixel 2 XL to a OnePlus 7T because at launch it was $300 cheaper while keeping the features I wanted in a flagship (ex: top-notch processor, large 90 Hz display, great UI) while making compromises I could live with (ex: mediocre camera), making the 7T a great "flagship killer."
    Now I plan to switch back to Pixel 6 for a similar reason: flagship-level quality with some compromises (smaller 90 Hz display vs. larger 120 Hz display, lower optical zoom) at a value-friendly $600 price point. With OnePlus evolving its main line from "flagship killer" into a legitimate flagship, it's fascinating to see Google turn around with a "flagship killer" of its own in the Pixel 6.

    This was the most complete review of seen yet for the pixel 6. But it still didn't give any clue as to how good it is for listening to music through wired or wireless headphones. It's as if people don't listen to music on their phones anymore, which I know for a fact they do. Put it this way. More people will listen to music on their phones today than will try to use motion blur camera effects. Starting to think that Google told the reviewers not to look at this at all.

    I wish they had better colour options for the Pixel 6 Pro. The green Pixel 6 looks great, but the only option for the bigger fella is a kinda pale yellow. I miss the crazy colours like the Pixel XL's "Really Blue". I'm one of those thrill-seeking daredevils who doesn't use a case on my phone so I appreciate not just a slick design but fun colours.
    But yeah, all the other reasons have me sold on this phone regardless.

    Regarding your face unblur test. Since you're testing it in daylight, I think the shutter will be fast enough that it doesn't actually need to do the unblurring. Did you test this indoors?

    • @CherlynnLow
      @CherlynnLow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, I had a whole section written on how this was more abt fast shutter speed lol. The Face Unblur pics had a logo watermarked in the thumbnail to show me it was applied, so that's how I know it worked~ It's not something you can activate or disable and really only showed up in those shots where I deliberately had someone move quickly in front of me.
      In my other shots with more challenging light, they still worked! Uh barring one time I shot super fast skaters zooming past me while insane disco lights dance around the park... They didn't work then, but i also didn't have the latest camera software at that time =(

I know they’re trying harder than ever to prove this stuff doesn’t work by effectively looking over our shoulders, but I just don’t buy that. Tech companies all say they aren’t interested in our personal info, but there have simply been too many headlines detailing the precise opposite for me to take their word on this issue.
