    UPDATE ON ASSISTANT TIP: There is still the corner swipe, it's just very buried in Settings>System>Gestures>System navigation>>>then you tap the settings or gear icon next to Gesture Navigation and you'll find a toggle for it. Apologies for missing this.

    • @trajectoryunown
      @trajectoryunown ปีที่แล้ว

      This has caused so many problems finding a proper screen protector. I eventually just wound up determining that the Pixel 6 Pro effectively doesn't have a fingerprint reader as isn't worth the effort or cost.

    • @ClassicalPan
      @ClassicalPan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been using a Galaxy S9 for a couple years and love the rear fingerprint reader, as opposed to the one that was located on the home button on my Galaxy S7. I just ordered a Pixel 6 Pro and am hoping I won't find the fingerprint reader to be as bad as some people think it is. I don't use my Bixby button for anything other than telling it to "turn on/off flashlight", but I do that nightly so I hope that it will be simple enough to do on the Pixel 6 Pro without that button.
      Not a fan of non-expandable storage, but the 256GB model should be fine. Overall, I'm certainly looking forward to getting my new phone, but I will remain cautiously optimistic.

    • @trajectoryunown
      @trajectoryunown ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClassicalPan Honestly, it's not _horrible_ but does take quite some time to start getting used to. When compared to the perfectly convenient positioning and rapid response of the previous models, it's very much lacking. It takes 2-3 times as long or more to register a read, and it isn't as accurate. Though that might have something to do with my screen protector, I'll be danged if I'm gonna get one with a big, honkin' hole in the middle.
      I've been a lifelong denier of swanky gizmos like fingerprint readers. The Pixel 3 changed my mind, and I found myself wanting to map different programs to most of my digits. With the Pixel 6 Pro, I only use one finger and only for getting through my lock screen and into my password manager.
      I'm not quite as dissatisfied I was a month ago, but I still fully plan on switching to a Pixel 5 when this is paid off. This is also due to size. Between the inferior fingerprint reader and being just large enough to force me to constantly shift hand positions, it's not a great fit personally. I'm quite fond of the Pixel 3's dimensions but always thought it could be a little larger, so the Pixel 5 seems perfect for me in every regard... once I install a different OS of course.

    2:50 "It's ahh..." actually really good. I primarily used the through glass finger print reader on the last three samsung galaxy phones and this is super fast.
    One trick to do is add additional finger prints, but do them from the same finger. I find that increases the chances of the phone seeing the print quickly. I've done that for iPhone, Samsung and others.
