Right on with da video. I was in the Maui High School Ulua Fishing Club from '98 to '99. Graduated 2001. Then joined the Marines. Did that for eight years. Then worked in da mainland for sometime....and now that I'm back, I'm Ulua fishing everyday. To bad none of my peeps are still here and none of my new friends can afford this hobbie/sport....so I got to go holoholo all by myself. I can't even catch a girlfriend now days. Aisus!..... N e wayz, mahalos for sharing with da world.😷🙏🤙
For your hook line to swivel attachment you need to think about how the swivel works. Attaching the hook line to the same end of the swivel as your main line and you defeat the purpose of the swivel when fighting the fish. Always have the main line and hook line at opposite ends of the swivel
Isn't the teardrop a bank weight? I also like to make sure my lead is a little heavier than the bait so it's the lead momentum pulling the line on the cast not the bait. Or so they don't spin in the air.
Ulua is really hard to catch. A lot of it is based on luck. But that's a good time to come. Let's go fishing when you're down, we can go to a couple decent spots!
what you call a 'blood knot', is what I call a 'clinch' knot. interesting. I use a double swivel, as supposed to a tri-swivel... thanks for your videos!
Hey I just moved to the island big fan of your videos. Had a question how do you anchor your dive float? I've been interested in going out and trying some spearfishing but I'm just curious how you do it since your experienced thanks
Such great quality videos! Man I'm impressed! The only thing that throws me off is your knowledge in ulua fishing, only cause I've been doing it for 10years and I have some different opinions lol (I'm a lil ol'sku) not saying what you shared is bad or misleading. Love your videos man, keep doing you bradda! Aloha from da big ISLAND
Thanks my man! I've only been ulua fishing for about 5 years. Definitely more of a spearfisherman. Most of what I learn is fishing with my cousins, who are exclusively ulua fisherman haha. So any knowledge or corrections are welcome!!🤙
@@FishandDiveHawaii my family is divers Haha I'm one of the few fishermen Haha. All good! I'm always down to drop them off on the coast with the zodiac and hit up all those hard to reach fishing spots while they dive lol. Nothing like being a ocean uber 😂
@@FishandDiveHawaii and btw your information is not bad, just a little hard for guys like me and your ohana who does ulua religiously lol we all got our own ways. All I got to say is your quality and content is on point. Great job!
@@etothelij The "padlock" kine arent very popular, I guess I never did see anyone use those. And the "bank sinkers" I've heard them called that before but all my friends call umm teardrops. That's awesome your from Hawaii! Sorry for the confusion 🤙 Where u live now?

Mahalo, waiting for da next dive video
Yee! Going have a couple more before the year ends!
Hi there quick question what would be your go-to knot to tie 30 lb braid to 30 lb braid
I’m so excited I just learned to use conventional reels and try to use it and I’m only 11
Awesome bro! Hopefully I'll be able to get out there and do a conventional reel tutorial!!!
When we Sturgeon fish, try to tie a mason jar lid with two holes on each end for the lead line. It acts like a planner when you go to pick up.
Thx for the tips man i could really use these it's hard finding the right thing to use
Awesome man! Let me know if you have video suggestions!
For the lead line I like to put a couple grannies in the line, easier to break the line 🤙🏽
Smart!!

Can you throw live bait on this rig?
I'll be on the north shore of Oahu in June. Where should I be able to find some Ulua that time of year?

Do you dunk fish with that hook, or only octopus and squid? What’s your favorite method to hook the fish?
You can dunk fish too. Better if you use a zip tie for live bait if your gonna use fish! But tako/squid/eel you can use that hook for
What Newell is that on the table?
If we're talking about sliding but if I'm using baitcasting mono
